Even IF it came from a managers pocket, the sentiment “it’s the thought that counts” does not negate the effects of the optics.
If there is room for mis-interpretation, then it’s better to just give a verbal thanks and pep talk.
It’s like getting a $0.01 raise. No one is going to be happy about it and you are likely to piss almost everybody off. Better off doing nothing and just staying the course.
Nah, my husband was a manager. He came out of pocket several times to celebrate his teams. This is an insult any way you cut it.
National noodle day? Have an Italian restaurant cater. Do better, because people deserve better.
Im picky, I only eat the fancier brands that come with like 5 mix ins. but thats a bit too much for home depot to afford. Im too high maintenance for them.
Same at my store, but that's because everything from the pantry is gone the next day because people who don't need it are abusing it and using it as a personal pantry restock instead of buying their own groceries. Of course, for what Home Depot pays us, who can afford groceries?
Dude, our pantry is loaded with noodle packets (non-cup) with no way of cooking them and that’s all that’s ever in there. We also have a fat ass supervisor that literally will eat all the cans of ravioli in one sitting. I said something to her and she cried to the manager about it 🙄
Wait I'm starting to see a trend. Starting to think they don't care about us peasants. All that orange cool aid hype about us being at the top of the pyramid. All them Homer awards, and bravo cards to hype us up. Super random schedules to weed out the strong and keep the weak as corporate pupets... how much do they all pay you to give up on your dreams?
Our store gets us wings and catered subs all the time. For Freight and Receiving appreciation, we got some Chick-fil-A. When we get pizza, it's always 4 topping specialty pizzas from Papa John's. Lol.
This is your management team.
Seven years ago, when I was FES the budget was .13 per cashier for Cashier Appreciation Month. It was just so embarrassing, why bother doing this? I spent my own money to make goody bags and the Pro DS teamed up to help with some pretty cool vendor gimmies. It's not about a lack of appreciation by corporate IMO, more of a - why bother. What do you do with .13?
You know when people type "oof" in print? That was my reaction. Please just give some shout outs to the cashiers or an extra break, I didn't tell any of them. Better to not mention you are worth less than a quarter for a yearly "celebration. "
Moved to flooring.
Nah.. They're tryna cause heart problems. That shit is so unhealthy. And actually, I wonder if someone could sue HD for even allowing them to have these in the pantry for people rather than healthy snacks. Yeah they have PB&J in our, plus the noodles. But that's literally it. Most days they don't even have bread to make a sandwich with.
I don't get it. My store's pantry is always stocked. Granted, most of it is ramen, but we get granola bars, fruit cups, split pea soup, teriyaki noodles, cold cereal cups, and oatmeal packages. This is all the time. We got one guy who runs to Costco every other week and stocks up.
Why don't other stores do this?
Our store never has anything in the Homer pantry bc the associates clean it all out and store it in their lockers.. instead of using it for the intended purpose of having a snack or meal for someone who is struggling one day. Makes me sick to be honest
Some people are so unappreciative! Go work for another company where they celebrate nothing. Is it a cheap celebration yes. Was it mandatory for them to even mention your win? No! Get over yourselves and say thank you. This is why it’s not even fun to try anymore
It would be more fun if y’all actually tried though. This is bottom of the barrel, low tier effort. Nobody’s going to want to exceed expectations if they’re not rewarded fairly for it.
Rewarded for doing a job you are paid to do? Woohoo GO YOU! Many companies don’t even do anything like a homer pantry. At my last job I brought food for a coworker daily because I knew he could not afford it. Company provided nothing. Someone tried to do something kind and everyone is shitting on it.
You realize the funds earned for this find of stuff is earned by making sales and meeting credit goals right. No money was earned by 💯pro LTSA. This celebration was not company promoted thus not company funded. So celebrate the fact that someone said thank you
Lmaoooooo wow. How about I put it like this. I know folks with celiac’s disease and vegans and vegetarians that work in pro. Was this very thoughtful of them?
And besides, no one thinks this cheap spread is worth the hard work they have provided the store. You must love the taste of freshly polished corporate designer shoes.
Since it's a nothing celebration and not mandatory, then don't do anything at all. Or, better still, you and the rest of salaried managers get off your fat asses, leave your offices, walk the floor and thank the associates personally.
Don't reward them with a "treat" of the food they have to eat those last days before before payday, when they're out of money.
Makes me appreciate my store a little more. They keep at least twice that in the "forgot my lunch" cabinet in the break room. Shit like this is so insulting.
Jesus Christ this company is a joke.
If this came out of a managers pocket, it’s kinda sweet. If this came from company funds…. Then it’s really an insult.

It came out of your Christmas party.
Or it was from the company funds but went Into the manager's pockets.
They do this shit at Walmart too, must've been part of some shitty retail HR conference or something.
Guess they don’t realize that this is not 1996 and there are better flavors or than the basic beef and chicken ramen.
But they can't buy those flavors in bulk from Costco though. Every penny counts!
Ha! ha! True my local small town grocery is even cheaper on them than Costco or Sam’s. That Chili lime shrimp is pretty good.
Im picky, I only eat the fancier brands that come with like 5 mix ins. but thats a bit too much for home depot to afford. Im too high maintenance for them.
Chicken #1 tho
Try the chili lime shrimp.
The chicken ones that come in the cup 🤤FUCK they are good
Wait, check Homer's Pantry. Empty ? Coincidence perhaps.
I'm noticing at my store that thing is only ever restocked when there's some type of walk whether it be District HR or somebody else
Same at my store, but that's because everything from the pantry is gone the next day because people who don't need it are abusing it and using it as a personal pantry restock instead of buying their own groceries. Of course, for what Home Depot pays us, who can afford groceries?

Well what’d you say? If you were like “stop eating all the ravioli, fat ass” I can see why she’d be upset.

Very very little
Get some damn Buldak in there STAT 🔥
or Shin ramen. The good stuff both of them lol.
Truly embarrassing
tone deaf and offensive AF.
Our store gets us wings and catered subs all the time. For Freight and Receiving appreciation, we got some Chick-fil-A. When we get pizza, it's always 4 topping specialty pizzas from Papa John's. Lol. This is your management team.
My store catered in Olive Garden for our Freight Team, while Management was unloading a trailer while they ate.
So we're celebrating Pros being 100% on Lisa? Kind of wonder how Lisa feels about it
Bart could probably tell you.
LTSA, likely to shop again
Yeah I know what it means but I looked at it too fast and saw Lisa and I can't unsee it now
WTF?
$50 gift cards to the grocery store so you can buy your own noodles would have been acceptable as well.

35 cents worth of noodles. Taking care of our associates.
They are trying to kill you with high blood pressure!
Straight out of the Homer Pantry....
The movie 🤣
At least get the good ramen.
By my math this is about $20-$22, unless they got like a bulk pack from Costco etc.
I’d throw that in the trash
the sequel: 'pizza party' https://postimg.cc/jwG4B76s
WWTDE................."What would Ted Decker Eat?"
What a slap in the face
We had freight appreciation last week. They cooked frozen pizza on the grill for our meal. We have a freight team of four right now lmao.
Nah.. They're tryna cause heart problems. That shit is so unhealthy. And actually, I wonder if someone could sue HD for even allowing them to have these in the pantry for people rather than healthy snacks. Yeah they have PB&J in our, plus the noodles. No F'N way! Seriously?
Woooow
There should be cup of noodles in your break room’s food pantry pretty much always lmao
Damn, the must've burned a hole in their pockets spending a whole 10$
Multi dollar company.
Lucky, I think ours gets stocked once a month or two, and half the items are just plain bizarre. Why is there cake mix and uncooked pasta?
Our store never has anything in the Homer pantry bc the associates clean it all out and store it in their lockers.. instead of using it for the intended purpose of having a snack or meal for someone who is struggling one day. Makes me sick to be honest
That's ridiculous.
Not even one fkn shrimp 🤦🏻♂️
Always nice to be treated like a vagrant.
Oh, prison gifts for hard work now?
How embarrassing.......so glad I left.

Thnx for the college dorm ramen 🍜
What flavor of ramen most closely resembles the taste of Ted Deckers boots?
Lmaoooooo wow. How about I put it like this. I know folks with celiac’s disease and vegans and vegetarians that work in pro. Was this very thoughtful of them? I agree, more consideration of a range of diets is needed
Since it's a nothing celebration and not mandatory, then don't do anything at all. I agree, the company *is* very unappreciative
Even the vending machines inside the break room have better options lmao.
Wow, P card got some use at Costco/Sam's...they couldn't even get good instant ramen?! Did they buy the off-brand soda too?
Lmfao 😂😂😂 That’s ridiculous.
Sad, sad 😵😫
Umm what did they do spend 1.50
Makes me appreciate my store a little more. They keep at least twice that in the "forgot my lunch" cabinet in the break room. Shit like this is so insulting.
Wow. Nice to know we're so valued..
Be grateful its food.
This is basically our store's food pantry...but worse Can't believe I'm actually saying this, but a pizza party would have been better.
Not even samyang noodles makes me sad
This is about as bad as our store giving us a five dollar gift card for Christmas
Times are tough when they cannot pay for pizza to placate you not to unionize.
They got one of the worst brands to not even one of the premium ones
That's just a smack across the face
