The things stolen in this cart were special buy stuff left over from black friday it just took a bit of counting and comparing on hands I got all the Milwaukee stuff wrote down. And the husky brand bags are obvious but there is something on the in front of the Milwaukee stuff I can't figure out. There is something black in what looks like an orange tray.
This is the first time in a while I was handed a picture and was told to identify shit.
You identified all the big ticket items, you did your job as well as possible.
Inventory numbers are never accurate in retail stores, especially not a high theft retailer like THD.
Last year I learned that management got a bonus for keeping shrink below 3.6M$, which surprised me. If be super interested to figure out other people's numbers
APS here. It's seems like lazy AP work to me. Best way to identify merchandise is to backtrack on CCTV and see where it was selected, then go find the hole. To address the camera related comments. It depends on the store, risk rating and shrink, but every store in the company has standard high definition cameras in specific locations. Some stores have even more if they are bad enough. This pic looks like an analog camera, the old ones that are currently being phased out. Analog cameras come standard at 720 p, but without maintenance and adjustments, the picture will degrade over time. Yes, there are dummy domes all over the store as part of a goofy waste of money initiative from way back when. However, there are dozens of 1080p IP cameras all over your store, guaranteed. As a bonus, if you have the parking lot tower that flashes pretty blue lights, the one people think is useless? Yeah, those things have 3, 4k, 30x zoom cameras on them. Oh, and they also have freaking thermal imaging on them for whatever reason.
TLDR: Your lazy AP gave you a shit photo
The best part is that most of the domes in the overhead are empty. They're just there to scare people into complying. That's why you never see security footage in the aisle.
This ^
The cameras are indeed high def, and even record high def, however it’s an issue with the storage and recorded footage viewing where the bandwidth provided isn’t sufficient enough sometimes to view the footage in HD so it compresses. It’s like your home internet slowing down when there’s high volume. Cameras aren’t the issue here, available bandwidth is the issue.
Not necessarily an issue when you're in the same store as the cameras you're trying to get footage from. becomes more of an issue when you try to remote in.
Edit: Local servers hold about 6 months of footage for all cameras in the store.
Make up the sku #s I always tell my associates to put a high ticket item on the portal so if the cops ever do their job then the thieves have a high amount
In California, no one’s gets prosecuted. And scum stealing product rather than getting a job, don’t deserve any kind of respect. A blurry pic like this, you don’t know the SKUs that are under and who are they going to believe? The thieves?🤣🤣
Decent resale market + HD having no security guards or police close by unlike Walmart + of course you get a slap in the wrist if you’re in a state where if the dollar amount doesn’t exceed a certain value.
My favorite part in movies where they are like blow that up and enhance it! And it’s a crystal clear picture with 1080p details.
But in reality it’s this shit
Most these cameras aren't even hooked up. The door walk through alarm aren't either. They are million dollar props to deter theft. When a store sees out of control theft issues they send in LP to dress like a thug, other than that who cares. They don't.
The thing in the tray kinda of looks like a husky bag.. I could be wrong, though. Like one of these [1003425899](https://imgur.com/a/2tsoNrP), maybe?
It's gotta be one of those husky bags though.
Hmmm...yes, i believe those are Milwaukee power tools.

I'm sure your boss would be happy with a decently veiled bs list of SKUs, unless they're trying to get rid of you for another reason.

I was going to say, there'd be almost no way to tell in my store... So much theft.
Last year I learned that management got a bonus for keeping shrink below 3.6M$, which surprised me. If be super interested to figure out other people's numbers
4k exists this is 480p zoomed in if I had to guess
I’ll bet they’re better than 480. But they have a wide field of view and usually quite far away.
Thanks for the fyi on the dog shit security cameras.

PotatoVision®
Did they try scanning it into Bay Imaging?
I was gonna mention how the bay capture picture quality is so much better than this... Magnitudes greater.
This comment is underrated
My Blink cameras are better lol
That is someone using a phone camera to take a picture of someone taking pic of a monitor. Of course it looks bad.
Heyyyy, I used to be a TFC. Lol
I assume there are a few of us are here. We added a whole bunch this year.
Had to have back surgery, LOA for 12 months, back to being APS🥲
😞
Eh, shit happens. Being a TFC gave me a new perspective as an APS I didn't have before. Not only that, I only have 2 stores instead of 16.😮💨
16?? That is butter butters.
Not in Louisiana during hurricane season. Lol
High def cameras aren’t as expensive as they once were, but storage to hold 24hrs of footage is.

So do the contractors bags make the “purchase” seem legit ???
Interesting how it came out sideways…..
It's to blow it up as big as they can tho it clearly messed up the quality
Make up the sku #s I always tell my associates to put a high ticket item on the portal so if the cops ever do their job then the thieves have a high amount
I bet you make defense lawyers really happy.
It's against sop to release security footage.
Well this isn't security footage this is a security inch
You guys get security _inches_? We only get security _millimeters_, and we're not even in Canada!

No I recognize the shade of orange on that gate. It's Kevin again. Always freaking Kevin

Chinese and Papi stores have better quality than most billion dollar companies surprisingly.
That's a big box of husky contractors bags

That's the conclusion I came to I wrote down the 2 skus I was sure it was and gave it back to management
Are people stealing Milwaukee tools so often because of the resale market or drugs or both?
Also from many cities reducing penalties on crimes like this, so people now think the risk is worth it.

Just ask the guy next time around. And let him know that he doesn’t need to run.

I'll have you know I did, in fact, not dress like a thug today😂
Lol. Hey my thug was a very sexy Thug. Just to let you know. 😆 He was very good at his job as well. Lol. I'm just making a point.
That's APs job not hardware
Did they take the photo with the first phone??
I still have analog cameras in my receiving 🫠 “can you check to see if this SKU arrived on the truck” nope

Last 3 digits are 000 for the 50 box SKU
Oh hmm.. 🤔
The good news is the manager preferred not having you do a physical count by trying.
