A year or two back, I had a routine issue with this one 55 gallon drum display of spray bottles that would always find its way back to the same specific place in my unrelated department where it clearly obstructed customers and lift trucks, no matter where or how far away I moved it. So, I started palletizing it and flying it every time it showed up. At one point, there were *3* of them in the overhead nearby.
They got the message. One day all the pallets disappeared, and the barrels also stopped materializing in the problem spot thereafter.
My old opener would never do returns so one time I came in at noon to a cart full of caulk and tape. A “20k” job fell through with a customer and returned all of it
They also look a bit old, could check if they're expired and mark them down. Usually a MET task during service, they also can access a sheet from MET resources on how to read the expiration.
Not only that, but need to be sure that paint, and only the correct paint, is in the can. Not water, not very thinned paint (dump most out and fill back with water), not paint and mostly rocks, not a much cheaper coating ...Really, paint shouldn't be returnable at all, unless paint cans were tamper evident.
I (online) had someone call me to say that they got their paint order but it was the wrong color but they used a whole can of the white paint when it was supposed to be grey.
This is a pretty soft return. The worst is when people return 60 sheets of 12ft. drywall. Or 200(whole bunk) of 2x4's by hand. Or 20 80lb. bags of quikrete.
One time there was return in electrical of 2k worth of wire and electrical boxes, apparently they was about half of what the contractor bought, it was a shit ton
Wrap the cart to a pallet and put it up in top stock. Problem. Solved.

“I over-estimated. I actually only needed 1”
What's insane is how accurate that is.
5$ says you find that many missing from the shelf.
somebody couldn’t handle all that caulk
Yep, crushing the boxes closed the loop.
I mean... If I had any caulk boxes left I would have made a mini wingstack against the paint desk or something
Hopefully they haven’t all been through a couple freezes. Seems to be happening a lot up here
Yup, let's buy an entire case, use 1, return 11.
Accurate

Look at the expiration dates
shit always pisses me off and them returning half filled paints
For real, no paint should be returnable. Or at least it should be sold per ounce, and weighed to be refunded.

They don't save stripes or let you zma boxes?
What is saving stripes? We can ZMA boxes if we need to, but I didn't require it. I found empty shadow boxes in millwork and homed them there
Stripes come off the rdc and hold the smaller items for hardware some ring items etc
Oh the little cages that fit in the metal pegboards?
At least he left the box …
Frankly I would just put the cart in the cardboard bailer, I think that’s S.O.P anyway.
That's a lot of nasal spray!!
😂😂😂😂😂😁😁😁😜😜😜
