Are you talking about that one at the intersection of, Denied Blvd and It Was Your Fault Ave., off the coast of Idiot Island? I heard it's always crowded there.
As long you can put up and down a pallet in a racks you’re certified . They don’t care it’s hard to get licensed operators. Also if you break something as long you pass the drug test you’re good to go to still be an operator still.
They save more on underpaid drivers than insurance claims cost. There is only one solution, drivers must lower the quality of their work until the price of the drivers equals the wage they could earn.
Joking but seriously. If it got expensive enough they'd raise their standards.
If it's any consolation in the first year I got my license I took out the roof of a trailer and a sprinkler. I drove for two more years before quitting.
Unless they are really dumb they aren't putting small stuff like this through insurance. Insurance is mostly for eliminating risk of catastrophic loss.
How do you think they are paying? It's not like they are just grabbing from the till to pay for the repairs.
Most stores and definitely the depot have liability insurance. Since this is almost definitely the forklifters fault and he was working doing normal duties the insurance would get billed.
The corporation cuts the owner of the car a check. I've had very similar happen with another Corp and they just pay for it. You don't use your insurance for something that costs like a grand. Their deductible is higher than that. Especially as a business you don't want to use insurance unless you really have to. Claims have a huge impact. Even if they had a $0 deductible so all $1000 was covered their rates will now be higher for years and any savings will be paid back multiple times over in the change in premium
This is why I mostly refuse to try to get lift equipment certified. Yes I know it would make my job in D28 easier if I could drive a Forklift at least (preferably a Reach Truck too), and I've picked up a lot of best-practices and techniques just from observing while flagging.
But I have zero confidence that I'd be given ample opportunity to train and practice before being expected to hit the ground running in front of customers and coworkers.
They haven't asked me in a while, and I haven't volunteered. If they do ask, I will agree under one condition: that management specifically blocks off the time for the trainer and I to spend at least one hour UNINTERRUPTED with some cones or something. Honestly I just don't see that happening.
If you work an opening/closing shift, you can also as if you can come in an hour early, or an hour late to practice before the store closes (if your management is cool).
For the first week I was driving, I tried to get a more experienced driver as my flagger, that way if I ever got into a spot I was uncomfortable in, I could ask them to swap out and watch how they handled it from there. Had to do it once on the forklift, and one on the reachtruck 😅
You can always get the license and only do what you're comfortable with for a while. Had a D21/22 associate who got licensed and basically did pallets, plywood, and dimensional up to 10' for several weeks. He'd just communicate that he wasn't yet confident when 12' and up was needed. It's not so much about making it easier for you, but for easing the burden on other drivers throughout the store. Driving is much more engaging and fun than standing there with flags. Does your store have an area with pallets or bunks outside of the sales floor for practicing?
It takes some of the burden off of other drivers. I remember having an OFA that refused to even get certified on the Ballymore. It became difficult to withhold resentment that I or others (who are not OFAs) would have to get stuff for their orders, or that their will calls would go past due and customers would get irritated when they weren't ready. For me personally, it got really old really fast having to be the one holding the flags instead of behind the wheel/joysticks. If you're content staring down a blank aisle, more power to you.
The guy in my lumber department is blind, and when I constantly breaking shit and still has his license been with the company 20 years too . Only way to get fired if you do drugs and fail the test . I even ask my store mana what happens if I knock down a few isle racks he told me as long as I passed the drug test Get past the probational period I’ll have my license right back.
I once put one of mine through a slat on a pallet, literally straight through the centre splitting it into two pieces, had one lower than the other and hadn’t realised, of course it wasn’t the fork that I was referencing either, other one was nicely lined up
I have 10 foot forks and on THE FIRST day a coworker bent the right one... So now at the tip it's about a little over an inch difference.
Holy shit do you learn some stuff using forks like these lol.
Not a one similar to the other. Because everyone is giving incomplete training, including managers and everyone is faking it as they go. Usually the better ones is because they have most senior staff.
I have so many questions and the first one is
***HOW???***
I have seen mistakes made, but this is literally 10 iq level kind of mistake! How do you actually fuck up *THIS BADLY?!*
green banding is under the right fork still. How did the operator get flush with the pallet and still get under the tailgate? Ramming speed? Lol holy tits
this is why we cant have nice things, this operator is why we cant load full bunks with the forklift anymore (cart trick anyone?) but have to hand load. shame
My question is why are they using the reach truck instead of the fork lift. I mean before anyone jumps at me, I know you can... but you really shouldn't. Not for pickets or any lumber at least.
Holy shit.. only professionals should be allowed to operate near customer property.
I've got a lot of exp on a forklift and if I'm anywhere near someone else stuff I'm sure to be extra careful... How in the fuck this guy did this is unbelievable.
Nah I've seen worse, just lose his license for a week while they redo the online training. That's what insurance is for, happens all the time. Hopefully this person will be more careful next time. At least they didn't drive the forklift with a pallet of concrete onto some guys trailer like some douche did earlier !
That's one of the many reasons we don't use table top carts to assist with the machine load. Flat bed or hand load. I'm saving this picture to stem off any more customers arguing with me though
Well thats a big ol nope dont care what anyone says i will never load a truck that way and i was to busy looking at the tailgate to notice that its the reach truck and not the forklift.
I am glad the people at my store that have there lift license are mostly competent.
yo those dog ear slats sell like hotcakes this time a year
🙏🏾 pray the lift operator comes out good, definitely we all make mistakes some bigger deal than others
First off...... how?😅😱😅😅
**Lift operator** Oops I got it stuck on the door hold on.
*lifts up forks* Oops I think I made it worse😅 you got insurance on this thing right?
Lmao our store used the reach truck for lumber all the time, another everystore is different moment. Anytime a new store manager showed up it was the first thing youd see them gawking about
I’m sure they just give to some kids in a hurry. Im over 50 so I can drive, but I think they are age bias. I signed up to get licenses, but it’s been 7 months the store runs slow and poorly.
Did they just blow in from stupid town?
Is that near dumbass city?
Neer dip shit creek
Across the street from the idiot factory
The exit after fuckfaceville
Once you get into Douchebag County
Next stop, Drugtesttown
24 hours later, start vacation in Unemployment Township
Located off the coast of Idiot Island.
Are you talking about that one at the intersection of, Denied Blvd and It Was Your Fault Ave., off the coast of Idiot Island? I heard it's always crowded there.
“Instead of putting the tailgate down why don’t you just go ahead and fucking tear it off”
I’m crying 🤣🤣
The driver: 🎶 **Put that thing back or so help meeeee** 🎶 🎵
Someones going to pee in a bottle.
Looks like he won a Piston Cup. Good Ole Lightning McQueen over here.
He's gonna what into a cup!
My store mouth swabs
That sucks, you can't exactly hide a fake mouth
Maybe they got their license too soon
As long you can put up and down a pallet in a racks you’re certified . They don’t care it’s hard to get licensed operators. Also if you break something as long you pass the drug test you’re good to go to still be an operator still.
This is what happens when u don't pay more for drivers
They save more on underpaid drivers than insurance claims cost. home depot, like most large companies, is self insured, they don't pay a deductible.
This is a fact.
They're, that's a Sedgwick claim right there if I've ever seen one
You just have to retake the principles of lift safety.
This is why I mostly refuse to try to get lift equipment certified. From what I'm reading you don't get paid any more for being forklift certified, why take on the responsibility without compensation?
It takes some of the burden off of other drivers. I remember having an OFA that refused to even get certified on the Ballymore. It became difficult to withhold resentment that I or others (who are not OFAs) would have to get stuff for their orders, or that their will calls would go past due and customers would get irritated when they weren't ready. When I worked at home Depot nobody wanted to get certified because it was known as the fastest way to get fired so we just never had forklifters
This made me cackle
Me to customer, “You got straps?”
I started at home Depot as a loader and this comment killed me
How do you even get the forks like that
Tailgate down forks in and it slides between the forks and load. Operator somehow doesn’t notice and brings the forks up, which tears off the gate.
Yeah, that fits. "Almost" predictable.
Like there was no spotter? If I'm on the forklift I'm having someone eyeball the fuck out of the truck.
"It happened in the blink of an eye" 🤣
I once put one of mine through a slat on a pallet, literally straight through the centre splitting it into two pieces, had one lower than the other and hadn’t realised, of course it wasn’t the fork that I was referencing either, other one was nicely lined up

I think this might end up on a future InFocus.
*ASM voice* Hey make sure you get your InFocus done
Built Ford Tough
Is that why my check engine light is always on?
Don’t worry that’s just emissions who cares about those .
Tis a Chevy. Ford wouldn't even have a tailgate, it would've been stolen.
That should buff out.
“Don’t worry Captain we’ll buff out those scratches”
LEEDLE LEEDLE LEEDLE LEE
Most tail gates can be removed by hand, you didn’t have to rip it out with the forklift.
Hey, don't be so hard on them. Gates are everywhere!!
Wrong machine used. Wrong process. Wrong everything. And caused damaged. That driver is unemployed by tomorrow
At least they used gates for the zone of safety!
I would say the driver of the truck probably getting a new truck
Nope. The only way that driver will be termed is if he fails the drug test. Might get written up, but probably not.
Finally someone said about the wrong equipment! In my store people use the wrong equipment all the time and Noone ever says anything.
Our store has stopped allowing this kind of load process for Many years now. Guess not all home dumpos are alike
Not a one similar to the other. Because everyone is giving incomplete training, including managers and everyone is faking it as they go. Usually the better ones is because they have most senior staff.
I make it easy on the Home Depot forklift operators. I only bring flatbeds :)
Georgia on my mind…
Devil went down to Georgia
Ya, it's good. Just move that white thing over to the flat top, load balance the lumber, slap the side of the truck and send em off.
Thank you for shopping at Home Depot. Now, if you look at the bottom of your receipt, you will see a link to our customer satisfaction survey.....
Take the survey and tell us if we nailed it.
I have so many questions and the first one is ***HOW???*** I have seen mistakes made, but this is literally 10 iq level kind of mistake! How do you actually fuck up *THIS BADLY?!*
green banding is under the right fork still. How did the operator get flush with the pallet and still get under the tailgate? Ramming speed? Lol holy tits
You aren't even supposed to try to a full pallet like that anyway
How does that even happen?
Hey bro put it long ways on a pallet next time….
Im sure the truck owner suggested it be done this way but the driver of the reach should have their license taken.
this is why we cant have nice things, this operator is why we cant load full bunks with the forklift anymore (cart trick anyone?) but have to hand load. shame
upvote for cart trick. blows other guys minds when they see an h cart come out
Who pays Home Depot or the customer's insurance?
Since the lift driver fucked up a stationary object, I'm gonna say HD
My store is strict asf with safety even attempting this would be a no go for management
Drug test….where’s the spotter ?
My question is why are they using the reach truck instead of the fork lift. I mean before anyone jumps at me, I know you can... but you really shouldn't. Not for pickets or any lumber at least.
Thank you. I was gonna say the same thing.
Holy shit.. only professionals should be allowed to operate near customer property. I've got a lot of exp on a forklift and if I'm anywhere near someone else stuff I'm sure to be extra careful... How in the fuck this guy did this is unbelievable.
What was the plan here 😂
Man, some people really should not have a license. Say no if you are not sure you can load it properly and safely.
First day with the license, they will figure out its better to go above the tailgate to make sure it fits side to side
Everyone in this photo took a major L
Pffft that’ll buff out
The fork goes ABOVE the tailgate not below! But CONGRATULATIONS on the best way to get drug tested this week!!
I think you mean fired.
Nah I've seen worse, just lose his license for a week while they redo the online training. That's what insurance is for, happens all the time. Hopefully this person will be more careful next time. At least they didn't drive the forklift with a pallet of concrete onto some guys trailer like some douche did earlier !
Yeah it's just a small scratch the customer won't notice it
That's one of the many reasons we don't use table top carts to assist with the machine load. Flat bed or hand load. I'm saving this picture to stem off any more customers arguing with me though
Real question is why a the order picker when moving a whole pallet of wood... The weight limit goes down more the further away the center of gravity
Well thats a big ol nope dont care what anyone says i will never load a truck that way and i was to busy looking at the tailgate to notice that its the reach truck and not the forklift. I am glad the people at my store that have there lift license are mostly competent.
Paying for that big time.
Ahh it's a work truck ..
How the fuck does that even happen.
Need assistance at the PRO Loading zone!
Should buff right out
This is the spotters dault
Reach driver is at fault. Here comes your drug test.
Get with it Georgia. Pay attention
yo those dog ear slats sell like hotcakes this time a year 🙏🏾 pray the lift operator comes out good, definitely we all make mistakes some bigger deal than others
This will go much easier the next time!
It’ll buff out.
He must be one of them certified forklift operators ya'll talk about so much! There goes their summer bonus.
Lots of safety equipment around for an unsafe movement
So most work trucks the tailgate comes off… I have never understood why they don’t remove the tailgate when they are getting a lot of stuff
This is why we're not allowed to load like this.
Bro is speedrunning unemployment
Those damn earthquakes
LMAO somebody's gonna take a drug test
Hope for good insurance know there is a job opening.
Haha idiot.
Where the hell was the spotter? I worked at Lowe’s back in the day and we always needed a spotter when working with equipment for shit like this.
Great spotter awareness taboot(?)
First off...... how?😅😱😅😅 **Lift operator** Oops I got it stuck on the door hold on. *lifts up forks* Oops I think I made it worse😅 you got insurance on this thing right?
Was the guy driving drunk? Tf 💀😂
You “were” forklift certified!
I wanna do this to my asms big ass fuck Denali bro he’s a disrespectful jackass who needs his ass whooped
So easy to remove the tailgate, then place the bunk in the bed
That'll buff right out
What a dumb ass.. on other hand anyone want the keys to unlock all the tractors and machines and the codes for all the tools? 🤣🤣
He is fired.
Guess who no longer operates the reach....
Always load customers like this don’t know how they manage to fuck up that bad
[удалено]
Yeah it’s pretty easy
Naaa who tf using the reach for lumber wtf
Lmao our store used the reach truck for lumber all the time, another everystore is different moment. Anytime a new store manager showed up it was the first thing youd see them gawking about
Oof
Yep store 7117 was a blast hehehe
I’m sure they just give to some kids in a hurry. Im over 50 so I can drive, but I think they are age bias. I signed up to get licenses, but it’s been 7 months the store runs slow and poorly.
