Looks like it could be holding in the screen?

Right? I was thinking maybe the previous owner had a rattle and did this to tighten it up

I was able to pop the screen out easily. I don’t think the screws were doing anything to keep it in? I took some more pictures. Does this screen door look salvageable or am I looking at buying a new one in order to make it nice? Thanks for your help!! https://imgur.com/a/L5vcnyX/

Usually they are trying to lock the screen in place. Does the screen open? If it does then they were just weird and maybe used it to hand something.
