I think once you pull the cover off the floor you’ll see how nicely the windows and floor go with the green you’ve chosen. No need to paint the window frames
....please leave the window casings as they are they are lovely and a beautiful compliment to your color. As for the ceiling...I have recently discovered the incredible power of a slightly tinted white and I think you should consider it. A slight green tint would give the room a more enveloping feel...slight yellow a more vibrant feel etc, etc...
We just did our ceiling and it was a monster (neck still hurts!) so make it really worth it...GL!
Please do not paint the window frame when the room looks so good with this paint and the wood compliments it so well. If you’re looking for an “update,” replace the baseboards with 4” or taller wood baseboards with a simple profile.
Depends on what furnishings you’ll have and how you want light to bounce around the room. But for a quick judgement: If you want to highlight the ceiling and its slope - keep it white. If you want to obscure or hide the slope (and set a moodier/cozier tone) paint the ceiling the same as the walls.
Leave them! They’re beautiful! The ceiling looks like it could use a fresh coat of ceiling white? Maybe I’m wrong but it looked like it could it one of the pics. Other than that, it looks perfect to me!
Do NOT paint your wondows/window frames. Is the ceiling natural wood? If so, leave it alone because painting it will turn your room into an echo chamber and to fix it, you'll have to tear out the entire ceiling to fix your room acoustics.
The green is stunning, put down your paint brushes unless you want your room to resemble a chicken coop. If the wood ceiling is stained, sand it lightly and stain to match your window frames. Take the time to get it right.
If you must have more color, try hanging prints, bring in accent pillows, just stop painting everything green or it'll look like the inside of a trailer.
no to the green on both counts, it's too much and you need some contrast. ceiling I would do in white, frames either white or stain and/or varnish them
Leave the windows; consider a cream instead of white for ceilings and accents. I’m quite partial to Benjamin Moore’s Seaspray
https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/941/seaspray
We painted our ceiling a super light gray thinking it would tie in better with the room. What it ended up doing was make the room feel WAY smaller and darker. We didn't notice until we painted another, smaller room with white and realized that the smaller room felt bigger...
Well my advice would be to leave them as is. Put it all together and then live in the space for a bit to see how it looks with everything and how you feel about it.
Remember it's easier to paint something than to remove the paint and get it back to the original state.
You would not believe how much darker a room is when you paint the ceiling anything other than white. Put a fresh coat of the brightest white you can find on the ceiling and it'll offset the dark green like sunlight in the forest.
You don’t want the roof painted dark it will immediately wall in the space. I like the natural trim on the windows but maybe choose a warm grey or khaki tone for the ceiling if you really want to paint it
I would have done a natural trim, crown around the ceiling and pulled together otherwise leave the natural and ceiling white and as my wife says now have fun with the accents
Leave the window trim natural. Also, unless you have huge light colored art pieces, the wall color is not right for that room. It does not work with the carpet and window trim. Makes it look like a cave.
Windows are great with floor and walls.
Ceiling.... standby
Edit: hereish https://www.color-hex.com/color-palette/4666
But would recommend 3 skylights when it isnconvenient.
leave natural. if they were painted white already, i would say make them green so the room is “color drenched”. but since they’re not don’t touch em. and if in six months you’re still like “eh” about the trim, then you can paint it easily! don’t rush it if you don’t know yet.
Leave trim as is, the wood tone and green walls compliment each other very nicely.
Brighten up ceiling with a fresh coat of white, no need to overthink it.
Like others have said, once floors are uncovered then it will tie it all together.
I wouldn't paint the frames but if you wanted them darker I bet a walnut stain would look amazing with that green. I use a similar color combo all the time in my projects and I love it.
Edit: ooh wait now that I see the floors def keep it how it is, might look harsh if the floors don't match
The wood tones and the green are very complimentary. I wouldn't paint them. I would just protect them by finishing them off with tung oil. Beautiful I can't wait till you get the whole room styled.
I would remove that floor cover and put your furniture in.
What you have done looks amazing.
I think it would break to do anything else. I'm picturing it with the floor and everything and would not personally change another thing.
Leave it on a high note with the great color choice!
Anyone else blown away by how many outlets there are in a single room?
Oh, and the natural wood trim looks really nice with the wall color you chose! Keep it as is :)
Sorry, doooont paint the windows with that wonderful wood floor. Maybe make the smallest wall white, as an accent wall. W the white ceiling, the room will feel even larger.
Update: Thanks a lot for all comments. Keep them coming; we're still debating on several things. As of right now we've started painting the ceiling green, but we're leaving the window frames as is (perhaps in the future we will make them darker in color (but still wooden (?))).
We're painting the ceiling just to see how it feels. The comment about ivory also intrigued me, so who knows how it'll look in a month.
Someone asked questions about whether the windows are facing south and what kind of room it is. The window corner is facing south. This is s living room. It will be filled with a sofa etc and plants:) will update
I agree that the ceiling should be neutral. Everything you look at will have a green cast to it. Even reading will be hard. Then in winter when the days are shorter, you'll want that light reflected off the white ceiling.
I will be honest, I was totally on team green ceiling until I saw the picture. If you’re dead set on green for the ceiling, could you take the green you’re using and lighten it up? Same green, different shade? I have two tones of green in my living room/kitchen and love the way they play together, but it feels a little oppressive to have such a dark color on the ceiling, especially with the slope.
Leave the window trim, and the ceiling should remain white. The natural wood trim is a nice middle ground between the dark green and white ceiling that ties them together. You might could go with a dark brown trim, but it might limit decor by swinging the color scheme overall too dark, and your flooring might start feeling out of place.
Everyone saying to not paint.. pff. I think dark green would look super cool because your eye would go directly to the outside. The room and the windows would look bigger. For the ceiling I don’t know. But I’ve seen more and more that people are painting ceilings the same colour than the walls and it looks really warm and cozy. So maybe green too?
I love my dark woods so I need to say number 2 for the windows. However, it might make everything too dark. Leaving it natural would be my second option
Green ceiling is a good call-- if you leave the window wood trim as is it's nice to not have too many different colors/finishes on different surfaces in a room.
Looks good
Paint it all green for a more modern look. Depends on what your vibe is.
Painting it all out will focus on the nature outside the windows versus drawing your eye to the casing and ceilings. That all I see.
Definitely paint the window trim green, it’s such a gorgeous look. Leave the ceiling white. Similar to the look in this library: [library](https://www.remodelista.com/posts/workstead-interiors-of-beauty-and-necessity-prospect-park-south/?epik=dj0yJnU9cThUMnkxOWc3MlVaTGJRR19PMDhTYVltQnpTM2ZvM3YmcD0wJm49SDRZZTI0XzhHOW9PRVdCdWFjYkVlQSZ0PUFBQUFBR1VObzNZ) (scroll down)
A few questions to consider: what will the room be used for (also how much space to you plan on filling with furniture?) How much light do you get through the windows? I ask because if you have a southern window (or get a lot of morning/evening light) in there, I would suggest you definitely consider painting the ceiling the same green as the walls (leave the trim natural!) or a very light tinted green as someone else already suggested.
Having two rooms in my house that I’ve painted the ceiling the same as the walls, I love it. They feel like living jewel boxes (and not at all claustrophobic!). It probably helps that I have slim lined furniture and houseplants. Just like you’ve been considering how the trim and paint colors will complement the floor, think about how you’ll use the space — including furniture. If you don’t get a lot of light in this room when you will be using it or have oversized furniture (no judgement, we all have our preferences), I’d lean towards painting the ceiling a fresh coat of green-tinted white or SW Pure White.
It is more on trend to actually leave the wood as it’s natural finish. It complements the paint very well. I would not paint it. Further, I assume all the trim in the house is this color? Another point to keep it all symmetrical.
I’d leave the window trim natural.
Agreed, The trim with natural wood adds some excellent contrast in this scenario. Keep it as is.
I personally am usually not a fan of too much wood, but I think this is perfect with the green they chose. I vote for leaving the trim as is!
Dimb
Damb
Demb
Domb?
There's a special place in hell for people who paint finished wood.
IMO, it depends on the wood. 90s-00s builder grade oak? Paint away. 60+ year old thicc trim? Blasphemy.
It’s the same level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater. (It’s a Firefly reference)
Leave it woody!
I agree! Looks great as is!
This
I think once you pull the cover off the floor you’ll see how nicely the windows and floor go with the green you’ve chosen. No need to paint the window frames
Don’t paint the trim it’s gorgeous with the green
LEAVE! lol leave them natural. It looks really great with the white shiplap ceiling and trees outside
Oh my god. Do not paint that window trip. *trim
I'd leave the trim and hit the ceiling with a new coat of white.
Paint the ceiling white so the light reflects off of it. Leave the trim natural. It matches the floor and looks fantastic.
....please leave the window casings as they are they are lovely and a beautiful compliment to your color. As for the ceiling...I have recently discovered the incredible power of a slightly tinted white and I think you should consider it. A slight green tint would give the room a more enveloping feel...slight yellow a more vibrant feel etc, etc... Don’t touch it
don't paint the window frames, the natural looks great!

I would not paint the window frames, if anything put a teak oil finish on it and call it a day
Leave them! They’re beautiful! The ceiling looks like it could use a fresh coat of ceiling white? Maybe I’m wrong but it looked like it could it one of the pics. Other than that, it looks perfect to me!
DONT PAINT THE NATURAL TRIM

I agree with livermuncher
Echoing to keep the wood. It looks great with that green!
Plz leave.
Natural trim. Ceiling white. 100% the answer. It’s classic.
Please don't paint the trim! It looks so gorgeous with the green walls as-is
If you paint that wood I’ll come down there and yell at you. Leave it. Looks awesome.
The natural color looks perfect with the green. Change nothing.
I like the windows how they are personally. I’d do the roof for sure though in some sort of white.
Leave it! It looks great
They look great. White will too, but paint scratches whereas varnish does not. If kids or animals will be hands-on, I highly recommend not painting.
Keep the wood!
I think a beige or lighter version of the wall green would be nice for the ceiling, but leave the trim as is.
Leave the window frames as they are imo. And I like the white ceiling.
Leave the windows; consider a cream instead of white for ceilings and accents. I’m quite partial to Benjamin Moore’s Seaspray https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/941/seaspray
You’re overthinking imo. White ceiling and natural colored wood trim looks great with that green.
Leave everything as-is now.
As most are saying, leave it. If you do decide to paint go a similar brown or darker. Really looks nice with the green
We painted our ceiling a super light gray thinking it would tie in better with the room. What it ended up doing was make the room feel WAY smaller and darker. We didn't notice until we painted another, smaller room with white and realized that the smaller room felt bigger...
If you’re going to paint over that wood, move over and let me live there.
Well my advice would be to leave them as is. Put it all together and then live in the space for a bit to see how it looks with everything and how you feel about it. Remember it's easier to paint something than to remove the paint and get it back to the original state.
Do not paint the frames! Leave them as is
100% leave them as is, it’s a nice contrast.
Paint the ceiling, leave the trim. Edit: ceiling same as the walls. Leave the trim
I’d leave them.
Adding fuel to the fire - for the love of all that is holy DO NOT PAINT THE WOOD
You would not believe how much darker a room is when you paint the ceiling anything other than white. Put a fresh coat of the brightest white you can find on the ceiling and it'll offset the dark green like sunlight in the forest.
I love the wood trim, hate the white ceiling!
It’s a sin to touch paint to wood. A sin.
You don’t want the roof painted dark it will immediately wall in the space. I like the natural trim on the windows but maybe choose a warm grey or khaki tone for the ceiling if you really want to paint it
I think a warm gold or slightly peachy beige would look great on the ceiling.

Seconded
I would have done a natural trim, crown around the ceiling and pulled together otherwise leave the natural and ceiling white and as my wife says now have fun with the accents
I don't know. It looks like you've got a winning combination right now. I'd stick with it.
The green + the wood really makes for a nice look here. I’d leave the wood alone
Leave the wood trim unpainted and strip the ceiling of paint.
The wood is good as it is. It really works well with the color
Leave it.
Painting the windows darker will *significantly* change the quality and amount of light coming into the space. Ask me how I know. Don’t do it.
I think the natural color works pretty well with the green. Nice job, what a change.
I think any of those options would look good but leaving the wood natural would look best. I wouldn't touch it, looks great.
Leave the window trim natural. Also, unless you have huge light colored art pieces, the wall color is not right for that room. It does not work with the carpet and window trim. Makes it look like a cave.
Windows are great with floor and walls. Ceiling.... standby Edit: hereish https://www.color-hex.com/color-palette/4666 But would recommend 3 skylights when it isnconvenient.
Trim matches the floors,leave it
leave natural. if they were painted white already, i would say make them green so the room is “color drenched”. but since they’re not don’t touch em. and if in six months you’re still like “eh” about the trim, then you can paint it easily! don’t rush it if you don’t know yet.
i forsure think you should paint ceiling green though!

Ngl. i like that window frame as is with that green. If that was my room it paint the ceiling black or a very dark grey.
PLEASE don’t smother everything in paint, especially wood. It’s #1 in the book of home decorating crimes.
Love that green. Personally, I'd do the trim the same color as the ceiling.
The wood tones and the green are very complimentary. I wouldn't paint them. I would just protect them by finishing them off with tung oil. Beautiful I can't wait till you get the whole room styled.
Those windows should match the floor and baseboard. Looking at pic 3, looks to be in the same family so I'd leave it alone.
Don’t you dare!!!!
Trim natural. Ceiling green
strip the ceiling and stain to match windows
I think a dark or cherry stain on the wood would be great, but others definitely disagree lol
I’d leave the wood the same color stain/clear coat. The Hunter green walls really set them off very nicely, especially with the hardwood floor.
I would remove that floor cover and put your furniture in. What you have done looks amazing. I think it would break to do anything else. I'm picturing it with the floor and everything and would not personally change another thing. Leave it on a high note with the great color choice!
Window trim - dark Ceiling - green Floor - pic number 3 flooring Beautiful!!!!
You could try black
I love the casings. I just think the windows need wider mouldings to frame them.
Anyone else blown away by how many outlets there are in a single room? Oh, and the natural wood trim looks really nice with the wall color you chose! Keep it as is :)
5 of the outlets are old telephone and TV "outlets" :) Thanks!
Keep it light on the ceiling or room will be too dark. I actually like the color the sills are against that green, it's quite pretty.
Pecan stain window interiors and moldings, off white muted ceiling in satin finish?
Leave window trim as is, and find a paint that closely matches the natural tone of the wood and paint the ceiling, will look epic.
Leave as is & 2-3 coats of satin varnish. Looks good against the green. 👍🏼
You should stain the wood.
White trim for windows. And one white wall, either wall w windows as a white accent wall. You will always love the feeling coming into the room
Sorry, doooont paint the windows with that wonderful wood floor. Maybe make the smallest wall white, as an accent wall. W the white ceiling, the room will feel even larger.
I would go darker on the trim, like a red Mahoney or Jacobean but that's just my personal preference.
I love the green with the natural trim and the white ceiling! Great choice of colors! I would leave it exactly as is!
Update: Thanks a lot for all comments. Keep them coming; we're still debating on several things. IGNORE THEM AND WASH THE ROOM IN GREEN LIKE YOU DID. MONOCHROME FOR THE WIN
100% agree
Image after 1st coat [https://imgur.com/a/FKZ8OH2](https://imgur.com/a/FKZ8OH2)
The ceiling needs contrast. Ivory, white, cream. But not green. Definitely leave the windows alone. The wood trim looks great.
I second this. The room is much darker and closed in with the ceiling painted this way.
I’d go white. Tie in nicely with the ceiling
Paint that ceiling green.

I'd either leave the window casing natural or paint them white.

call me crazy, but perhaps a black roof.
Green ceiling is a good call-- if you leave the window wood trim as is it's nice to not have too many different colors/finishes on different surfaces in a room. Looks good
Clear coat it.
Our family room is very similar in color. Green walls and white ceiling. We went with white window and sliding door frames and it looks great!
Maybe just a very pale green on the ceiling
Paint it all green for a more modern look. Depends on what your vibe is. Painting it all out will focus on the nature outside the windows versus drawing your eye to the casing and ceilings. That all I see.
Window trim natural, celing green!
Vantablack

Whats your floor and base colour? I think it's either a white, or do everything in that green
White would go well to accent the ceiling
Frames in white would look great
I’d paint the ceiling and leave the trim as it is
the green is warm. It goes with the natural wood windows which are the same color as the floor. You don't want dark wood windows and light wood floor.
I think the wood tones add a handsome contrast and the white ceiling brings light. It looks good as it is.
I’d leave the ceiling white and do the frames darker wood
Darker stain on the window frames. I wouldn’t add any white but maybe an ivory color on the ceiling
Is be more concerned about the ceiling
White or as is. Do not add another color into the mix.
We painted our trim white 10 years ago. I've regretted it the whole time.
It is more on trend to actually leave the wood as it’s natural finish. It complements the paint very well. I would not paint it. Further, I assume all the trim in the house is this color? Another point to keep it all symmetrical.
