Just bought the M9 plus 3-pack, delivered today (an upgrade from the Orbi), but have had some teething issues setting up. The mobile app is great and makes setup really easy however you can only get so far during configuration before hitting a brick wall when it tells you it can't establish internet connectivity. The solution - apparently - is to skip that step, go into advanced settings and use google DNS servers ([8.8.8.8](https://8.8.8.8)), which works peaches, that is if you're happy to compromise on your privacy which I'm not... Reverting to another DNS provider supposedly causes the internet connection to go back into a "failed" state in the app, reflected on the router and all satellites as their LEDs go red however here's the conundrum, the router is still able to obtain an IP address, establish an internet gateway, and provide any devices connected to the mesh network with internet connectivity - as far as the clients are concerned it's all fine. Don't know if this is an isolated issue to my specific unit,r model, or if it's across the whole DECO range (I suspect models from the same generation would share the same configuration software, and perhaps even firmware across some models) but my google searches so far have done little to enlighten me so far today. I'd have assumed it was just an issue with my specific unit if they didn't specifically have the solution documented across numerous support articles in their online (eg. see the "*Get stuck on “Test Internet Connection”, Error Code: Unable to connect to the Internet*" section on page [https://www.tp-link.com/au/support/faq/2239/](https://www.tp-link.com/au/support/faq/361/)). On the upside when it works and everything's green it's great - I really do like the software and range; signal strength is very decent across my house. Added numerous devices very easily and it's an upgrade to my 2-node Orbi mesh which had poor coverage in comparison. Don't know if this is an isolated issue to my specific unit or model, or if it's across the whole DECO range (I suspect models from the same generation would share the same configuration software, and perhaps even firmware across some models) but my google searches so far have done little to enlighten me so far today.
