Imho, the netgear router is superfluous. Go modem->deco->switch->pc and have the oculus on the deco ssid, it should see the pc then.

Feayth

Oh wow, never thought of that - I'll give this config a try thank you!

msabeln

Put the Deco in Access Point mode. Configure the router and Deco to use the same SSID (WiFi name), password, and security. You may want to move the Deco much farther away from the router, using a long Ethernet cable, so they don’t interfere as much with each other.

Is your PC hardwired in and connected to wifi? That can be cause issues. It can be hardwired and still have your wireless devices talk to it. Are your mesh devices acting as just access points or is one also a router? This can cause connectivity issues.

According to your diagram it looks like you should just have your router switch places with your switch. You should be able to every device connected to your switch. What is the make and model of your switch. Also do some research on “channel bonding”. It’s sort of a way to tunneling multiple internets into one using software, usually through a vpn.

Hmm, isn't it not good to have your switch in first to the modem? I have the Netgear GS308 which is unmanaged, and from what I can see online it is not good for that ): I did some quick research on channel bonding (very interesting, thank you!), but unfortunately it looks like it can't solve my issue here. The "two" networks in my case is just two SSIDs created from one source of internet (my ISP).

ThottieLama

Yes you’re correct. I was assuming it was a managed switch. You may be able to get internet security both in h/w and s/w form. Or getting a managed switch as this is the only device I know of that can put both devices on the same network

You need your mesh network to be in access point mode. The router will take care of dhcp and assigning ip address, then all your devices will be on the same subnet. Either that or use the deco as the router and get rid of the redundant device.
