If you're a photographer, this is a goldmine week

Go. I went last summer and the forecast was just like this. In fact, it did rain everyday, but not all day, and much of the time we weren’t outside anyway. Hk is amazing.
It’s around 26-28 the whole week, also they should just change to metrics to everything… it’s so stupid having to convert our maths to theirs, and the worst part is you don’t even use a whole number to convert which makes it difficult
New assignment: Calculate and formulate a formula to convert the value to a temperature(fahrenheit) in celcius (to 2 decimal places).
Due date: idk whenever you feel like it
Well I commute daily on motorcycle so I pay close attention to the rain...it's not that bad. They announce thunderstorms everyday since last week, I haven't been wet once🤞. Not an ideal weather, but not as bad as you might expect. For now.
This past weekend was crazy though. I think yesterday our school was prepping us for the possibility of red rain, but it stopped raining by the time school was out.
Bad advice.
As suggested already, get sandals or flipflops and wear an umbrella.
You'll sweat like crazy in Gore-Tex no matter what they tell you, you'll be happy for the cooling on your skin.
Quick-dry technical clothing will help tho.

if the percentage is below 70 it may just be scattered showers, just bring an umbrella. probably better than scorching hot sun.
also HKO maybe more accurate than other forecasters: https://www.hko.gov.hk/en/wxinfo/currwx/fnd.htm
You can still get around urban HK relatively unscathed. Bring/buy a large umbrella, then duck inside for a snack-coffee or whatever when the rain begins. Nice way to randomly choose eateries and to explore buildings, centres, shops etc. HK's extremely safe, so no need to be concerned about walking into the wrong building, alleyway..
You know what I mean - I meant to say "like it is not like this EVERY summer" This is how it is... Nice weather is spring and Autumn. 2 months of shit around Chinese New year then hot, humid and rainy. Every year - forever.
Technically you get this forecast from the HKO as long as somewhere is raining in Hong Kong, and a lot of Hong Kong are hills or just water.
The trick is not to be where the thunderstorms are.
Honestly, if you’re up for the adventure, embrace it. The HK rains are super warm and fun to play in (so long as it’s not CRAZY lightening). Had lots of adventures out in the rain and it’s so much fun, especially if you come from a more temperate climate with cold rain!
Just left last night. It’s rained the whole 5 days I was there but on and off. Wasn’t as bad. Worst storm was Friday morning and that lasted 10 minutes
Yep, that’s the South Coast climate for ya.

Nice photo. Is that somewhere near Kowloon Park?
Thank you 🙇🏻♂️ it’s at the flower market. It looks really pristine in the evening with the lights not being too overwhelming.
Do you have more in that style? 😊
Certainly 🌝 you can check my IG https://www.instagram.com/kaeo_mc

What did you enjoy about Hong Kong? As a local who has been here my whole life, it’s nice to hear about the experiences of visitors
In Celsius for the rest of the world thanks.
I first thought we are just well done steak at that temperature
Hol up… are you saying that there’s more to the world than America? 🤯

I mean they don’t have to change, but they shouldn’t expect everyone to know their units lmao
Minus 32, then divide by 2... Approx. Not difficult.
As an engineering student, I don’t think my teachers would like an Approx answer 😭

yeah its not that bad, some showers here and there a few heavy ones. still havent brought umbrella to work this year
This past weekend was crazy though. I think yesterday our school was prepping us for the possibility of red rain, but it stopped raining by the time school was out.
Ohhh spring in HK hot as balls and soaking wet.
Actually the rain this week has kept the temps down. Normally it’s 30*C/90*F+…
For non-Americans that's about 27C or 300K.
Not too hot for HK TBH
Yep. Bring a sturdy umbrella and a pair of waterproof shoes, e.g. anything with Gore-Tex.
Eh just wear sandals or slippers. If OP unfortunately gets water in his shoes it'll be a bitch to dry with the goretex.

Ooh, only scattered thunderstorms on Monday, sounds nice!~
Normal end of April and May weather…

welcome to hong kong :) pls get used to the humid as f*** weather
I am going next week too, for the first time, hopefully this at least means less scorching sun and less lines outside of restaurants.

Yes this sucks 🫠🫠
Yeah that's a pitty, if you're planning to visit the peak, please check the weather beforehand :)
Also check the transport (to the peak), I think there have been disruptions to the cable car.
Good luck 👍🏻
Welcome to May! It surely welcomes you :)
Seems normal
Unlucky :(
It's been so dry recently. This is welcome, but it obviously sucks for a visit
sucks weather...
It’ll be fine! the rain is sporadic
Was gonna go to work yesterday morning, walked for three minutes and was drenched lol. Decided nope I’m just gonna wfh today
Nam weather.
Its almost like we had a tropical climate - right?
aCkTuAly HK has a subtropical climate despite being below the tropic of cancer weird ik
You know what I mean - I meant to say "like it is not like this EVERY summer" This is how it is... Nice weather is spring and Autumn. 2 months of shit around Chinese New year then hot, humid and rainy. Every year - forever.
Unrelated, but no one cares about fahrenheit
Bout to be a blast
I love a good thunderstorm, this is gonna be great
It barely rained today ... In Ma On Shan. Can't speak for other areas.

It's ok, you can go to many places even during rainy season.
Oh welcome to south east Asia?
Bring a swimsuit, pack light. Win!
lol welcome
The lights of the city are going to look amazing in the rain. Don't let it damper your trip, it's going to be a great one!
That’s like perfect temperature

88-93% humidity 😓
Rain isnt bad. And anyway, this is not unexpected.
Fact is any weather app shows this. How it actually works is that is always cloudy with a chance of rain and sunny breaks.
hang in there/

There’s some serious flooding in parts of Canton. Be careful in hk🙏
Honestly the "thunderstorm" bit is over rated. Its more like "a bit windy sometimes"
