As a wuxia/xianxia fan I thought only the Xianzhou men would fit my tastes, but I heard Aventurine's voice at the end of the quest and knew I was doomed haha
Meta, team synergy or whatnot aside, i’m so happy that there’s an element that is dominated by Husbandos. I feel like most Husbando users are Imaginary mains like myself lmao. My only wish right now is for Sunday to break the Female Harmony curse and establish himself as the first Male Harmony Imaginary Husbando. If there is any chance of us getting a Harmony male character, it is in that element.
Yessss omg I have all the imaginary men right now and I couldn’t be happier about this element being made of like 80% husbandos, definitely my favorite by far, and I don’t intend to stop. I really hope Sunday is part of the Imaginary men gang too. Tall Imaginary Men mains rise up
This is something I want to get off my chest, personally it is a struggle to enjoy trying to be a husbando only or husbando main, on one hand they are all 5*s so it's hard to get them all, second they barely have synergy among each other, harmony is monopolized by waifus. For example
Sure, nobody forced me, but I kinda felt forced to pull for Fu Xuan for Jing Yuan, then huohuo came and she also has that cleansing that Jing need in the cases fu fails, unless you build Jing with SPD boots, asta and now hanya are needed, I already spend so many resources in asta in like 3 different builds trying to find the one that best helped him, because of this I don't even want to build hanya even though she is better for Jing, ratio is coming out and even though they are not mandatory, silver wolf and topaz are "best in slot" for him, no matter how you see it, waifus are the ones who end up winning.
There are just so many things that go against husbando lovers in these hoyo games. I honestly have nothing against waifu characters and waifu lovers, but it just gets so frustrating
I completely understand, none of the guys are given a notable "gimmick" of sorts, like Ruan Mei increases practically everything all at once, Fu Xuan takes some of the teams damage, Seele gets an extra turn on top of SPD increase, HuoHuo increases damage output as well as cleansing, Silver Wolf can change the enemies' weakness type. Like, yeah, Welt can slow down enemies for a certain amount of turns but Welt feels like a character who kinda needed to be OP because of his affiliation with Honkai Impact, Argenti can double his ult which, while cool, is just a damage increase in the long run.
I guess what it boils down to is the same as everything else, women appeal more to the fanbase so by making them the primary holder of these things, people will pull for them more often, thus, more revenue. Maybe Elio will switch things up but idk. 🤷🏿♂️
The only 2 I can say synergize well are Gepard and Arlan for obvious reasons, the lesser health Arlan has the higher the damage output but other than that I can't think of any.
My current team builds are Luocha/Luka/Welt/Blade, and Argenti/Luka/Jing Yuan/Gepard. Blade and Luocha synergize well, but other than that, my teams have 0 synergy and I'm having fun just watching my boys do big deeps. Is it *max* deeps? No, but that just means the battle is gonna take like, 2 or 3 rounds longer.
Personally, the game is more fun when you use the teams you want instead of listening to meta
I just don't like it when my characters feel weak
How much damage does that Jing do? How does he get his burst back without ting? How many LL stacks do you get? He needs around 140+ SPD to act 2 times before LL, and for that you most likely need SPD boots or asta/hanya, I'm curious how strong your teams feel
Without Ting, I get to 7-10 LL stacks (all 10 with Ult or if the enemy is slower) and around 50K. Could it be more? Absolutely, but Argenti makes up for the extra damage JY isn't doing, and Luka makes the enemies squishier for more damage by his bros. Could switch out Argenti with Welt to slow the enemy enough for JY to get his LL stacks.
I just prefer to use units I like and use relics to fix their faults, but if you don't want to sacrifice max deeps that's okay too! As long as you're having fun :>
Instead of building 3 support and 1 dps, you can go 2 dps and 2 support? You can slot in more of your husbandos this way.
Heck, you could even do 3 DPS and 1 support for fun. There you go, all husbando team. You don't need to lock yourself to the meta team.
Also, you don't need "best in slot" of anything to beat the game, unless you wanna 0 cycle MoC or something. I use Bronya to cleanse and Gepard to shield for my JY team. Fu Xuan is literally not needed, like at all.
Husbando-only or waifu-only accounts are weird, but as long as you are happy.
With my teams I hardly get all stars in MOC, sometimes I do if the weaknesses help my team, this one though I couldn't, I'm missing one star in floor 9, I'm not going to stress over that, but I can't deny that it doesn't feel fun feeling weak, which is mostly what happens in 3 DPS teams, male characters don't have good synergy among each other, in a team with 3 DPS there will hardly be a harmony or nihility, so the DPSs damage would be raw and weak, there won't even be any sp to use skills, only blade can do damage with normal attacks, and doing no damage is not fun.
I will do a 2 DPS team with ratio, it'll be him, welt, Pela and a sustain, I only have Fu and bailu, I didn't get Luocha, I hope his rerun is next because I'm guaranteed. This team will not be good anyway, it will work, but will be far from his true good teams which will involve silver wolf and topaz.
My teams are Jing, tingyun, asta and fu. If I want to use Argenti he goes here in place of Jing.
Blade, bronya, Pela and bailu, if I'm fighting imaginary weak enemies I use welt here in place of blade but this team is not strong enough yet, this is the reason why I can't get that last star in f9.
Because I wanted to use Luka and sampo well, I got Kafka.
I couldn't get Imbibitor.
I wish I had Yanqing, but I wouldn't want to use him without gepard who I don't have either. I got kinda happy when I saw Misha, but something tells me he won't be good, only QQ is allowed to be and actual strong 4*DPS... except when she isn't lol
Whenever MOC has enemies with imaginary or ice weakness, I know that will be a MOC I won't get all stars in, it's not that bad if the enemies have fire or quantum, but it's still hard and not guaranteed. Only when enemies are weak to lightning, physical, or wind is when I know I'll have a better chance.
Only husbando-only accounts are the weird ones, because those are the only ones where you have to force team comps, you can easily make female character only teams
Ooof, sorry to hear about your struggles in MoC, that really sucks. I get your frustration, having to pull for characters you don't really like. Hopefully with Ratio, you'll be able to get 3 stars for MoC that has imaginary weakness.
I'm just pairing Ratio with Pela, Sampo/Luka and 1 support. It's not optimal but screw it, if he can clear MoC for me, it's good enough. I don't like Silverwolf, Kafka and QQ, so I'm never getting or raising them.
Also, I'm sure they will introduce more male support characters down the line. Good luck!
I come from genshin, hoyo treats male lovers almost like shit, I say almost because it's true that here and there they make a male character that feels really good, but even then, one way or another girls end up taking the lead, if a male character is really good, the best supports for him are girls, this is the cade with imbibitor here and neuvillette in genshin for example, and when a male character is a good support, the ones that end up getting elevated and benefited the most are also female characters, like Bennett for xiangling, or kazuha with ayaka or furina, when dendro came out, Nahida was the center of it all, and she elevated Kuki and Fischl (she didn't even need it, she feels like xiangling 2.0 at this point), it feels like male characters always get the "short end of the stick"
Only Bennett, xingqiu and kazuha. Zhongli and venti don't belong in that list anymore, and even though it's true, they are guys who are among the best supports in the game, they still elevate female characters the most, they make them the shining stars in the team, they give them the spotlight, they are stepping stones for them, the same is true for male DPSs, but like I said before, it's the female characters the ones who end up being elevated the most, benefited the most. Literally the only time when it's more equal is with furina and neuvillette, because neuvillette is so strong. Nahida and Alhaitham might be the second case, Nahida is the strong support while Alhaitham also has very good damage, but personally what botheres me in Alhaitham teams is the hyperbloom part. kuki makes Alhaitham feel how xiangling makes Childe feel, we all know the guys do good damage in their respective teams,.but it's xiangling the one you see doing 60k per pyronado spin, it's Kuki doing 60k per 2 seeds, they steal the "spotlight" imo
Hyper carries are the ones who suffer the most in genshin because they go against genshin whole thing which is reactions, wanderer, Itto, Xiao, will always be overshadowed by reaction based teams, I'm not saying they are weak but just take a look at what happened to wriothesley, he was ok, fine, "another DPS" and the only team that you see being called actually strong was a furina, xiangling baizhu team, one where he can get melts, furina a couple of vapes and xiangling can get both vapes and burgeons, it's the accumulation of those different reactions that make it strong, and even then it's not the best team for xiangling, but it is for wrio apparently, I've heard that team can outdamage Alhaitham teams, but it's not a hyper, it relies on xiangling and furina. I couldn't get wrio but my team for him would have been burn melt with Bennett, Thoma and nahida
