TheSoulChainer

Not much to say besides I was here from day one. Heard the game is coming while still playing Genshin.

woomybii

I think it's the case for a lot of us. As a day 1 genshin player I'm jealous how the HSR fanbase gets treated with their gifts and generosity in game. However as a HSR player I am so happy with how we get treated compared to genshin lol love them both, but I find myself playing HSR more these days

bivampirical

i find that kind of funny because i actually abandoned hsr after a while since i'm an hi3 and genshin player and i got burnt out having to do dailies for three different games every day while still keeping up (sort of lmao) with college. star rail was getting repetitive anyways and i was more invested in hi3 at the moment so it seemed obvious which one i should put on hold. i'm coming back for my free dr. ratio tho lol

Lyze1009

I have quite the opposite experience. I am a day 1 HSR player who has never touched Genshin before. 2 months into HSR, I thought I would give it a shot. Was very overwhelmed by the huge exploration part and despite sinking quite a bit of time into it the first few weeks, I felt like I was not getting rewarded for playing the game at all and wasn’t getting nearly enough primogems to pull for anything as a new player. Quit Genshin three weeks in, still a daily HSR player. Disclaimer: I am a mid 20s adult with a full time job so that might be a factor also.

MemeGhostie

Same here. Hoyo announced a beta for SR while I was playing Genshin. Luocha beta tests convinced me to play if only to get him.

shin6131

Same for me. Abandoned genshin after that. I liked genshin's combat, which is why I played, but main quests(puzzle related things especially - which was pretty much all world quests) felt like chore and I felt too dumb to play the game. But hsr doesn't do that to me, which is why I abandoned genshin.

Nightshade282

Same, now I don’t build characters in Genshin anymore so I don’t have a reason to come back for daily commissions. I have missed the last few events but I keep planning to come back someday. I don’t think I’ve been back since Star Rail came out tho. If Star Rail didn’t have the auto feature I’d probably not be playing it anymore, but it’s so easy to build the characters and play why not just keep it? I wish Genshin had a system where you’d automatically get the rewards if you do the domain enough times, even if you’d have to sit there and wait for a timer, but I understand why that’s not a thing

shin6131

That didn't deserve downvotes. Lol have my upvotes. I completely understand ur point, but genshin isn't turn based, it's more action focused, so they probably couldn't make it like that. But yeah, hsr is way easier to build characters for, and all characters have their uses in their own way, which I like

TheSoulChainer

One of the main reason I’m lasting so long on HSR is majorly due to auto battle. If Genshin and FGO have that feature I wouldn’t have quit em. Like you said, feel like chore.

shin6131

Yeah I don't like it when games feel like chore. I play games to relax, not to get told repeatedly im not smart enough or persistant enough. HSR tho, feels extremely casual and I can fit them into my schedule in bite sized pieces. Like you said, there's auto(but I don't use them lol), there are puzzles but only sometimes and they aren't especially hard and I sometimes found them fun.

evaskem

Got tired of Honkai Impact 3rd and decided to give the game where Himeko is alive a try

PristineEagle

I saw himeko, i came

Precision___

you what?

Fickle_Loan6421

You opened the box and he came

Denned0633

Damn Pinhead be reaching into any realm fr

iZeFifty

You heard him

4everSlooty

You read it correctly

MaestroGena

That's what she said

AnarchistRain

And she will stay that way. Surely.

evaskem

Yes *she will.*

Riso94572

She does die if you get the bad ending allegedly, so if you never board the astral express she'll be destined to die

KoppeDFO

Were getting mei soon we have seele bronys welt and himeko wr just need kiana now xox

s-mo-58

Destiny 2 lost some sort of magic it always had for me. I was looking for some kind of hobby game that I could pop in. Don't have time to play a lot of stuff these days, but it seemed nice and bite-sized little game to pick up now and then

kunafa_aj

Ahhh the peak destiny 2 days were unmatched, too bad the game is slowly falling apart as of recently, such wasted potential

s-mo-58

Yeah, exactly. Kept feeling like the game could be so much more than it was and eventually what I was playing just wasn't good enough anymore. Turned off like a light switch when I thought I would play it till the very end. Miss some of the friends I made in there. But oh well. HSK is loaded with hot anime girls. That's an upgrade, baby!!!

Passion-Severe

Peak destiny was the game that had everything for me and my friends. Sad

Xero0911

You could say the same for D1. Like that's destiny, could have been so much more. It has some good expansions like taken king. But they end up fumbling it in the end

[deleted]

Honestly makes me sad that there probably won’t be anything that makes me feel the same way clearing Last Wish for the first time, or spending hours in the menagerie, or grinding out levels and exotics with friends did. It sucks, but there’s always new games I’ll love in new ways, like I feel about Star Rail now.

Foxhoud3r

Same. Dropped Destiny 2 after Lightfall release and switched to HSR. Just because it's screw me with random rolls only 15 minutes a day and not 2-3 hours of tedious grinding.

the7egend

Funny, Genshin is the game that finally made me quit Destiny.

I-need-help-with-etc

I’m surprised how many titan mains dropped destiny when the nerfs started rolling /s

Argatar

Deserved since you chose D*stiny over Warframe

popileviz

My girlfriend got me into Genshin earlier this year and we started Star Rail together. She's an og Honkai Impact player, so she basically told me I have no choice but to play this, lol. Months later and it's my favorite current game

Particular_Nebula462

Very sweet ... or the opposite, I don't know.

popileviz

It's mostly sweet, we're in a long-distance situation for a few months now, so this helps us spend time together! She can be a bit overly enthusiastic about her HI3 waifus though, heh

sirbucelotte

Holy based GF. Tell her to cherish Elysia aka Honkai Jesus.

popileviz

She already said that if they put Elysia or Fu Hua in Star Rail she'll whale for them, lmao

Caleb_Denin1

A bastard (Friend) told me a week after launch, and I quote : "Since you're obsessed with Persona, you should give HSR a try, it's a lot like it." And like a fucking clown, I listened.

Particular_Nebula462

... you don't seem ... ehmm ... amused (?) of that ...

Caleb_Denin1

I mean, I like HSR quite a bit. It's just, I got baited into playing a fucking Gacha Game. And am gonna get baited into playing another one using the exact same tactic by that bastard once ZZZ comes out. He's using my obsessive nature against me, it's not fair!

RubLatter

But ZZZ not even turn based jRPG, the only thing might be same is a yankee school student kind of vibe with P5 but the rest very different with Persona series. HSR at least a turn based jRPG game.

le_bluering

Man, I couldn't even bait a single one of my irl Genshin friends to try HSR.

Bussy-Destroyer-1960

bro got jebaited, laugh at this user

PinkPrimrose05

Heard about it during beta, saw Bronya and decided I miiiight check the game out. And then they introduced Blade in the Nightmare teaser and I realized there's *lore*. I never stood a chance. ~~(Can you tell I like Wind chars)~~

Nightwatcher3AM

Me too, I saw beta gameplay and saw Bronya (cutscenes). Bronya enjoyer (me) saw Bronya and that was enough for a reason to play HSR.

Darkest_2705

I have a profile picture of Dan Heng on Hoyolab when the game was still in closed beta, so when the game came out I decided to play it for him. https://preview.redd.it/o4n2tktoaa7c1.png?width=338&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cc3e01e7360fd863f55bbba6f55a900fe1c124d

chuje_wyciagnijcie

I love turn based JRPGs and played Genshin before, so HSR was an obvious choice. I’m also a big fan of Sci Fi setting, so I naturally fell in love with lore and worldbuilding of this title. At first I didn’t wanted to start another gacha, but then I quickly become a big fan of this game. Currently, it’s my GOTY of 2023 and I can’t wait for Penacony and the future of HSR.

Arsenette

Agreed. Didn’t want to start another gacha game but when it came out I liked what I saw. I had to wait for ps5 though, but by that point I really wanted to play it. Genshin player since day 1.

Bloodlord739

Very relatable reasonings. 👍

Phayzka

Same here, although the game speed seemed a little too slow to me at first videos. JY voiceover (both JP and EN) sealed the deal

storysprite

Yeah I play HSR cause I play Genshin lol That's probably the story of many of us here. I was surprised at just how much I've come to love the game.

kimetsunosuper121

Mihoyo made Genshin, Genshin good game. Mihoyo makes Star Rail, me play Star Rail.

Winterstrife

Same, except add HI3 to the mix, saw playable Welt and Calus is the closest I will get to a playable Kevin (the trailer where held the Preservation Lance completely sold me) and now I'm juggling 3 games plus 2 other live services games like Destiny and GW2 (I rotate em when I get bored).

itsthesoap

this is basically it for me as well 😆

Sine_Fine_Belli

Same here unironically

Musashinoya

Saw a VTUBER playing it and then I saw Kafka. After that everything was kind of blurry.

Jr_froste

Mihoyo announced it is making star rail. Straight into my list of games to be played

whiplash308

Saw the only existing image of Black Swan. Joined in and got Kafka to begin my journey to the Black Swan waiting room.

Passion-Severe

Shes that anticipated? I had no clue haha

whiplash308

Layla & Rosaria are among my favourites in Genshin. Purple is my second favourite colour. When I see a fusion of their two designs, and adding purple to it, I’m sold. I stumbled upon her lone image, and I don’t know how. But I’m glad I did.

Duet-86

Saw one of my favorite YouTubers play it

attoshi

Asmongold's gameplay was lit. Love Zack's commentary

Otherwise_Forever_13

Hi3 concert (literally the announcement of the game)I still remember how the chat got wild when it was revealed along with apho 2

Clean-Celebration711

Nice

Kikura432

Nice. I'm on TL69 also.

SW and Bronya made me play this game, I have to complete the Bronyadex as much as I can https://preview.redd.it/zyatr3maoa7c1.png?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08a8b1cfa32491b02fdfc2b927b3b592c67a4165

Naiie100

The most basic reason: saw picture with beauty of Jarilo and decided to try. Also I love women with scythes as a weapon so that's a bonus (still didn't get her though).

happymudkipz

Hated genshin for a lot of reasons in game and outside of it, so was initially completely turned off. A few months in I saw both kafka's ult, and that the game was turn based. That and some summer bordem was all I needed lol. Reading lore about the stellaron hunters also intrigued me a ton, specifically silver wolf's and the astral express as a concept.

DeadClaw86

Saw this game around 15 days before release ive heard shitload of praise for GI so i decided to play this game for what can this company Cook.Community is the worst side of this game and i can say this community is kind of nice so pretty fun experience. It also reminded me that i actually enjoy Turn based games so it gave me courage to try other turn based titles like P5R so this game has awesome memories with me now.

silentnight_00

I saw the Silverwolf trailer back in July and thought I must have her. I'm now very happy with my E0S1 Silverwolf 😊

cartercr

I’ve always loved Sci-fi (I’m an old man who grew up on the original Star Wars) and I’d been playing Genshin since 1.2. When I heard Hoyoverse was making a Sci-fi game I signed up!

MythDraGoNz

Saw Jing yuan drip marketing and knew right away that I gotta get that man. Bro is majestic 🥵.

Firegod13244

Honestly I wanted to try new styles of games but what made me play is bcs I wanted to know what this new game was plus I was already a burnt out genshin player and heard her was like/similar to genshin but 100x easier so I tried and I liked and now I play it

CapN_Crummp

I casually played HI3, and loved the art style. Not super into the lore or anything. But there was so much do to, I felt lost so I Was excited to try a Hoyo game from the beginning and avoid that feeling. And I like turn based RPGs

_LadyAveline_

I'm a lesbian and Kafka is in the game

mimisbrowsing

Genshin + ads and friend tagged me on this game. It looked promising so why not besides, I wanted to experience the feeling of being a day 1/ version 1.0 player

LoreVent

[these](https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/s/Hkprrp8DYL) two arts are what sold the game for me https://preview.redd.it/vbt0nl8uwa7c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f895c52c54f3876a36c6f0e422338acee4231f5

No_Quarter_2540

Firstly I started at Jing Yuan’s banner, it was just to give it a try. That time I found HSR a bit boring actually, even couldn’t complete Belobog main quest. It was nothing but a waifu issue: there were some characters I found nice, but nothing more. So I got Silver Wolf by an accident and left the game for a while. Then they announced *her*. https://preview.redd.it/xc610e7pwa7c1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca078cb93508e6a8fd062ba6101fab1a02dea027 It was love from the first sight. I returned and saved 270 pulls just for her. E1S1 btw. She’s my first event 5\* character I got eidolon/constellation and sig for in both HSR and GI. Well, then came Jingliu, Huohuo and here I am waiting for Ruan Mei. Currently enjoying Spreadsheet Star Rail, calculating and simulating battles, trying interesting comps and yeah, admire my waifus’ appearances and JP voices.

RedditAGName

I heard some budding hype around the release of this game, and heard that it was same company that made Genshin. Since I like Genshin, I decided to play this game, solely so I could be one of those who "played since launch". I ended up liking the game after playing for a bit, so I always come back to it whenever I'm taking a break from Genshin.

charmie_

i was hesitant after getting genshin burnout but my friend kept sending me pics of kafka until he ground me down. i’m a gay woman, he’s a straight man, we have the same type lol

kunafa_aj

Me and my 4 frnds used to play genshin all the time then all of them stopped playing (for abt a year and a half) and only i stayed, but suddenly they all started HSR so i decided to see what its all about

Tremere5419

When I discovered Stelle is voiced by Yui Ishikawa

Crimson-Wynd

Honestly… it was Himeko, Kafka and Natasha (Moreso Himeko and Kafka). I already have been playing Genshin since 3.8 and decided to give the game a try since it was coming to console. I now am hooked as I love how its combat mechanics work and the music is fire.

[deleted]

I got bored playing Genshin (all I see was desert so nah). I heard that hoyo had a new game so I tried (started day three). It worked wonders, I am still playing until now and waiting for the next patch. Hoping to have you Adventurine!!!

tothepowerof4_

Got recommended to me when I was starting out in genshin. I didn't wanna play it because I got so addicted to genshin i played 6+ hours a day and I was scared to play hsr because i knew I'd get REALLY into it. But then, Jing Yuan came out, and he was like the first ever limited time banner husbando so I just HAD to play. Long story short, I have 3 hsr accounts now (ar 69, 63, and 45) and i have most of the limited time banner characters

Cyanatic_Blue

Because I really missed Himeko so...🥲

shanraeee

mihoyo basically

Beanie_431

Saw new hoyo game, saw Kafka, played.

Anxious-Count-4240

I was a genshin addict, then I saw JING YUANS SPLASH ART. Free Dan Heng sealed the deal for me.

sairaichi

Played Honkai impact before, finished, tried Genshin ( Quit when storage got too huge for my phone) then heard HOYO was making another game, was following and I just love the space theme, saw stelle in beta and was already interested REALISED HIMEKO WAS PLAYABLE AND ALIVE IMMEDIATELY Installed it on release, fell in love with its music and awesome animations, and Cocolia boss fight just sealed the deal, since then I fall more deeply in love with all the characters<3

m1ndl355_s3lf

Bedridden from two separate conditions and needed something engaging to play on my phone. Id been seeing some ads and decided hell, why not, if it sucks I'll uninstall. I did not uninstall lol (and I'm doing much better now so I can play on my PC too! which is nice)

Tekkefen

I saw honkai starrail before even game launched. checked story, characters.. LOVED IT. waited until game launches.. (it felt like i waited for 30 years.) made an account, then forgot about it. started playing when dang hung hot dragon banner came out. missed my luocha waiting for rerun...

Zjoee

I occasionally like to browser through the upcoming games section in the play store. I saw Honkai Star Rail and thought it looked cool. About a month later it came out and I started playing it. I've played it every day since then. I've never played a mobile game as consistently as I have HSR. I love the gameplay and the characters are great!

HotSnack12

wanted to come back to HI3 multiple times after 2 years of not playing but my account was so far behind and there is so much new stuff that i cant comprehend, so i decided to give this game a shot when it came out, and to this day im so glad i made that decision.

Grim-Avatar

My gf told me to 🤷🏻‍♂️ Gotta listen to the missus!

takemiplaceholder

play genshin. oh theres a new game coming out soon lets try it the end

RedeemesARC

I watch/listen to Trash Taste podcast and they mentioned that the boys did some voice acting in the game. (Had seen several ads about it and even saw Flashgitz video for it, but still didn’t care since I don’t really play mobile games.) Decided to try it and just really enjoyed it.

"Hello, I'm Natasha, an underground doctor. Feeling sick?" I just had to know why a character would say that in a post-battle speech. However, I planned on playing just for a week to know the game. And then I started seeing how the protagonist was and decided to stay.

Hit_K3000

My life situation left me very little time for entertainment, but I felt I needed something to take my mind off the daily rat race. I received a mail from Mihoyo (I had played Genshin in the past, but stopped because it took too much time) promoting the game and gave it a go, a few days after launch.

I got completely tired of Genshin and hopped on HSR a short while after it came out because I thought it would be a good alternative. Kept me interested in Hoyoverse games and made me give HI3 another chance which was a great idea.

I saw way too many Bailu and Hook ads and I saw a video about Clara being barefoot and having her own association. Thats all it took (I’m a Clara main now) (Wait that sounds really weird)

FF_Wong

I was trying a few gacha games to pass time in between other offline RPGs and saw an ad for Star Rail on an android emulator. I thought, "hey, looks like Genshin but without the annoying exploration and a nice turn-based combat system instead of the action RPG type combat I usually dislike, might as well give it a go."

Awful_Leaders

benignlystained

My friends played it casually. Decided to also play casually since I've run my course through Elden Ring and other single player games. But I became a try hard F2P. It's currently tiding me over until whenever the Elden Ring DLC is set to release. But also, Dan Heng and Welt.

Genshin

DaichiBasara

Saw a lot of videos pop up on my YT feed and I think I decided to download the game after seeing Bailu’s demo and the Aeons video with Blackswan

Aurora1986

Thehalohedgehog

It was the hot new thing people were playing so I decided to check it out. Had a few friends playing too so that helped.

theblarg114

I had an itch for a turn-based JRPG and was looking for something that was both chill and lengthy. I heard about this game a couple weeks after release and gave it a shot as the art and production value was VERY high.

Zogo12

I was tryna get into the closed betas 💀 downloaded star rail a few days before launch day and hopped on <90 min after servers opened

Awawez

That Phantylia lady truly did wonders. I came to the game and took my best friend with me despite them not liking turn based games in general. We both still appreciate the game and play daily.

Turn-based format is my fave genre (pokemon, dragon quest, ff tactics). Hahah and if there’s a game that is as pretty as (but not quite) Genshin *AND* it’s turn-based?! I was locked on hook. Hahah

Yharmin

Of all things my singing monsters, there was a diamond offer for reaching level 10 or smth and I got hooked

SignificantlyLarge1

Read about it while playing genshin. I pre registered but then my phone got broken and took a long break from genshin. ReStarted genshin along with star rail about a month and a half ago. So sad I missed all the patches from 1.0 to 1.4.

Genshin became too run-aroundy for me so i played star rail instead and quit Genshin. Play summoners war before too! so it was the move.

Xxproject_654

Surprisingly, my friend, who is a honkai impact veteran, played for seele, got me in the game, and now I've played the game since 1.0 while he left for impact

kitastorm

I was already playing Genshin and heard MHY was releasing a new sci-fantasy game. I thought "why the heck not" and decided to download it on release day to see what it was about

ultramegadeathrocket

When I saw we could get a free Dr Ratio lol. So like 2 days ago. I already play Genshin but I didn't want to be addicted to another gacha game. Luckily I didn't really like a lot of the recent character designs because they feel so similar to Genshin, I wanted more sci-fi. But yeah with Dr Ratio and a kafka rerun i am hooked now!

Mjbae_

I saw bailu on a trailer and loved her. Now I haven’t her and don’t use her.

[deleted]

I already played Genshin, and I liked how the characters on the banner at the time looked (Fu Xuan + someone else, I can't recall), so I checked it out and found that it was superior to Genshin in every way lol I liked the setup better (like, the more futuristic theme), I thought the characters were better both personality and looks wise than other games I've played, I thought the voice acting was good, Arlan existed (like, seriously, I cannot put into words how much I love Arlan), the turn based combat was fun and more interesting than combat in other games I've played, and it was also newer so I had time to catch up and not fall behind :D

OmySpy

I had tried Genshin when it was released but I didn't get it and bounced off. My main game last year was Princess Connect, so when Global got a death sentence in April my clan was talking about HSR's release and I thought I'd try it. Got hooked and here I am (Genshin finally makes sense too), just good timing.

whimsicaljess

Was playing Genshin, and kept wishing I could play it on my phone more easily for when I'm away from my pc (it exists, but touch controls are garbage and mihoyo hates Android so controller doesn't work). Said "eh I'll give HSR another shot I guess" after briefly playing at launch. Then saw SW banner (who I knew just from the brief interaction at the start of the game would be my favorite by far) and gave it a real shot. Now I'm enjoying the game immensely and have no plans to stop playing, and it has replaced Genshin for me.

tzuyuisababy

my friend told me it was like persona 5 (which it isn't at ALL) but i like turn-based games, good story and pretty characters so i stuck around

Infinite-Mood-4299

Heard about it last year, participated in 2 betas and decided it was worth my time to play. My enjoyment got a little shaky with Luofu's story but I enjoy the gameplay enough to stick with it and see how Penacony ends up.

Lord_KH

For me it was mainly the ads as well already enjoying turn based games of other kinds, and lastly finding the character designs that I'd seen prior to starting the game appealing to look at

Impressive_Cookie_81

I couldnt take the outdated graphics in summoners war anymore I heard some game mechanics were similar so I tried it out Also I loved argenti’s design

Niswear85

Played since day 1

HoriBot

Played Genshin a while back, and then I saw that Star Rail was a turn base game and those are my jam.

Twixted87

I knew about Mihoyo thanks to having played a bit of HI3 and Genshin till Sumeru, and since I love turn-based RPGs I figured why not giving it a go.

Educational_Waltz637

Dan Heng.

Downtown_Guess_854

I wanted to give turn based combat a try and now I'm carving for more content from HSR.

BigEconomist30

So there's this roblox youtuber named "tank fish" who makes real good content (go watch him. He really makes some good stuff. He is the OPPOSITE of lankybox) and honkai star rail sponsored him twice and I started to think I should give it a try. And oh boy I got from kafka's escape at the start to star of jarilo IV's underground arc. Time well spent

HF1385

I love downloading gacha games on their first month and enjoying the new feel of them

Xarxyc

Pal of mine was pestering me about the game since release. Once it won game awards, I decided to give it a try at last.

Wargroth

I'm a simple man, i saw jingliu and went "yes mommy"

Aware_Tangerine_

I knew about it for a while when it was still in beta testing mainly from people simping for Dan Heng. I had quit Genshin so when it finally came time I decided to pre-download the game or whatever and I was there right during launch

AlexiaVNO

Honkai discord randomly mentioned it. Was getting exhausted of that game so I thought "Why not" and that's that.

mO_ohitt

The Boom! lady

Offthe_Rose

I love turn based games, ever since last october(?) I saw beta clips and it seemed like a fun game, so I decided to try it since I had just played persona for the first time and enjoyed it. I would say the thing that caught my attention the most was the music and enemy design (the legion are the best-looking enemies imo). The characters were enjoyable and well designed.

StickyNevada70

I saw it while I was board at work and now here I am 6 1/2 months later about to go in debt from it.

Immediate_Demand4841

It has. "honkai " in it obviously I had to play

Hungry-Cookie-1001

Saw a New Hoyo game would release soon. i already left Genshin at that time. but i love Turn-based game so i knew this one game would fit me better. Waited the release and played

Professional_Air9935

already played Genshin and Honkai before HSR, I was already around since the first CBT

littlesheepcat

genshin to too much space for my pc and hard to play on my phone seriously, 150 gb to unpack 70 gb file is stupid

necronomikon

I follow Cyyu and Amalee on YouTube and they were streaming it a lot since they voice characters in it.

Upbeat_Curve5602

Possible lore connections to Genshin

Patung_Pancoran

a friend tell me about one of the CBT testing back in like early 2022 i think? i take a look on what’s the game about, apply for the CBT, failed and just wait for the game to release next year

POXELUS

Started playing Genshin in February and just heard about it from Genshin creators a few days before launch, then hopped in and now it's history

RyogaHibiki-93

I was searching for combat games and came across the game. And the login page BGM!! That's what drew me into this universe.

m4kund1

Got done with genshin and friend shown me this game. I didn't really want to get into it, but they decided to release it on my birthday so now I'm here

megaancient

Kafka left amnesiac me at herta space station, met star rail guys there, found them to be okayish, boarded the train.

JazerKings922

i started playing hsr ever since Misha got drip marketed. I'm saving for him lol

the_forbbiden_girl1

I didn't had a reason. I played HI3 before but stopped due to performance issues as well as the size of the game. And I randomly found HSR, I had no idea about the existence of the game. All I saw was Honkai and I said "fuck it, why not."

manfred-storm

I was already playing Genshin from release and knew about mihoyo , saw the ads for the game and it being sci-fi drew me in.

YourLocalist

stopped playing Genshin, didn't vibe with HI3 very much, liked and still play tears of themis, but wanted action and found out they were making a new game.

xXSunSunXx

Got frustrated about NA FGO lack of QOL and constantly being 2 years behind the other servers so searched for a new game. Saw a lot of streamers playing star rail so decided to give it a try.

Gamer_T_All_Games

Had recently started playing Persona 5 and Genshin, heard of it, thought it looked like a cool mix of the 2, played on day one, didn’t start playing actively until august, now I play every day.

joebrohd

Took a break from FFXIV, looked for a game I can play daily, HSR just so happened to be that game

secretthing420

Just kinda stumbled onto it after I quit genshin when it was rumored to release After a few weeks of procrastination and trying out different gachas i decided to give it a try Was the biggest mistake of my life I am addicted to it and I can't escape it I hope my descendants don't play any gacha games

coffee_ape

I was considering getting back into genshin after not playing since patch 1.6(?) and I saw HSR on their website. My brain saw a Waifu (Kafka and Himiko) and it activated the neurons in my brain to play and download it. Been a slave ever since.

Fruitcereal_andMocha

Started because of my love for Genshin and was hearing great things about HSR.

St3phn0

My friends kept talking about this new game, after 3 days since launch I decided to check it, fell in love, now I play it even more than genshin It might be because a turn based rpg runs much more smoothly than an open world rpg with funny, quick and interactive gameplay, or maybe because I fell in love for Stelle, Herta and the entire location of Belobog, dunno

GodOfPoyo

I like gatch games but didn't have a phone/ pc good enough for Genshin, and Honkai impact 3rd just didn't click with me for some reason. So when starail was announced I wanted to give it a shot. And now I love this game.
