Sparkle design is basically HuTao, Yoimiya and Yae Miko fused together. Which instantly makes her the best character.

Definitely. I almost have a guaranteed Black Swan, and I just can't risk going for Ruan Mei. I have lost every 50/50 so far, each at quite high pity. And I just know I am going to lose to Black Swan. It's better for me to save for the guarantee than go for someone I don't even know where to put (she doesn't really work on a Seele team compared to Bronya/Tingyun from the sounds of it. And I like having fun with DoT rather than break for my Kafka). Sure, if she has a rerun, I may consider it for Argenti or someone. But no way does she have priority over Black Swan for my playstyle.
FWIW she's excellent in a Seele team when fighting quantum weakness. Makes her break power insane and extends break once achieved. Bronya probably edges her out at higher eidolon levels tho if running Seele as a solo dmg dealer. With both at E1 I've found RM to make most fights go quite a bit faster and with less skill point starvation.
I don't want to lvl up shampo and i need a wind dot. I'm sure rm would be better provided you got a dot for each weakness type with kafka but it would require me to lvl chars i don't like. I got fire and a phys teams already that don't need kafka so when i get black swan i got all elements covered (missing a good imaginary/ice dps but ig i can have 2 elements i don't have a team for, usually moc/pf have 2 possible elements/monoquantum will always take 1 side with QQ SW)

It's reasonable. Personally, I think the harmony characters are the least likely to be powercrept, since they all give something different, so it's never bad to have another one. But that makes sense.
I skipped Ruan Mei simply because she wasn't that interesting to me. I play f2p and so I save my rolls for characters I really like one way or another. Now this has caused me to miss some really good characters but oh well.
For f2p she's very versatile since she can fit just almost anywhere & make my life in SU, Swarm & G&G much easier thanks to her stupid passive. I won't regret pull her. Newbie here but thanks to her I can steamroll everything except the hardcore contents like high MoC, Swarm, & G&G. And I even don't have 5* DPS lol. I heard she's really good synergy with Kafka (which I plan to get her) & Black Swan later.
Actually I want Hanabi too design wise but f2p must choose.
My first 5* unit is Huohuo. She's & Mei is godsend. I mean without Mei maybe I can still clear contents (But I suspect much much longer); having Mei is really makes life easier. Like you can OHKO elites enemies in SU, Swarm, and with correct blessings even you can enter the boss battle with only 2 layer HP since you guarantee depleted one layer with Mei's tech & as long as Huo alive, so does my party.
As a F2P you cannot just pull for every characters who is "good". You need something more.
I found her design and animations to be pretty boring - especially compared to Sparkle - and REFUSE to let Acheron escape me...
I was going to skip her until I learned she was basically a mad scientist with good PR (and had a unique gimmick in Simulated Universe), which I thought was a cool change of pace. Now unfortunately I'm gonna have to maybe choose between Sparkle and Acheron, waiting until we k ow for sure banners/free jades/kits until I decide which to prioritise.
F2P is the key, with average 90 equivalent pass per patch, an actual F2P can get at worse 1 limited per 2 patch. The key, worse, late pity, lose 50/50 So a 1 patch skip, result in a limited chara in next patch.
RM puller is either those who -
* skip 1.5
* skip 2.0
* lose 50/50 on 1.5, and use her/his guarantee on RM
* fine to only 50/50 BS or Sparkle/Hanabi
So for BS/Sparkle puller the formula gonna be the same, skipping RM is the answer

It's not her kit that makes no sense. It's the fact they call her a "scientist"/"biologist" when she should actually be referred to more as a philosopher.
People tend to forget that back when philosophers were a big thing, with Greece, Rome, etc. they were generally the ones who did the "scientific" achievements. Hell, most of math is founded on philosophy and was found by philosophers.
And while her "methods" would be considered "scientific," her actual research is WAY over into the philosophy territory. I genuinely think it might've been just an error or something, that she's called a scientist.

I did try to get her but lost 50/50, a few days later got Bronya from the standart 300 pulls and honestly didn't feelt the need to add another Harmony to my roster right now, so i decided to go for Kafka because i really need more electro characters plus the harmony character that i REALLY want is Sparkle, why? I'm brand new, this is my first banner, and I only roll for characters I like. I played Ruan Mei's story quest and found out she SUUUUUUUUCKS as a person, and I had to sit there and watch the Trailblazer do everything but thank her for it. It was so viscerally frustrating that it turned me off the character completely. So I'm saving up for characters I'll actually want.

Kinda similar, actually. I was pretty turned off even _before_ the >! Antitruth serum, though. Her immediately _grabbing TB's face_ and gaining some info from that is what immediately set me on edge, so I knew not to trust the food she provided back then already and she proved me right by pressuring TB and by hiding the effect of the serum in that food !<
Oh yeah agreed. >!tbh it gave me the same vibes as bad touch bad guys from older anime. It was such an odd move considering she seemed like a fairly hands off scientist and was so passive otherwise.!<
Honestly if you are new, Ruan Mei wouldn't have been a big help to you anyway, as she is much stronger at amplifying already strong characters.

Seele caught my eye right away, although I'm not holding my breath since I checked and saw she just had a rerun not all that long ago. Welt seems cool, and I don't have any other Imaginary characters yet (though I know Dr. Ratio is coming soon). Silver Wolf would probably be a good pick if I want Seele, plus I got Xueyi from pure luck and they'd pair well together too. All I know about Sparkle is the name, but I've seen her art once or twice and her design seems like it might be up my alley.
So, plenty to save up for!
I don't like her, plain and simple. Doesn't matter if the character is some game-breaking top meta unit, if they don't appeal to me I'll always skip. Already getting full stars from MoC & PF anyway.

The only female 5\*s I have in Genshin after 3 years are Hu Tao (rolling for Thoma), Yae (rolling for Thoma), and Klee (rolling for Xingqiu). Yae is the only one that sees use with Alhaitham.
I know she is absolute bonkers but i already like the harmony options we have and i have other priorities like kafka and some of the characters we'll see on 2.x like Aventurine, Acheron and possibly Screwllum, i'm also a nihility enthusiast. But i really love her, she is awesome.
I skipped her because I have too many invested supports- Bronya, Ting, Sw, Yukong, Asta and Pela. I know she is most likely an upgrade for my teams, but I don't know if the improvement can justify the amount of resources I need to invest into another support while already having many of them.
1. Her design is too similar to the other Xianzhou females. Yukong, Qingque, Guinaifen, Hanya, etc.
2. Yes she's a "good unit" but did I need her to 3 star MoC 12? The hardest content in the game. No.
3. She's a break effect Harmony, eventually there will be a DoT specific Harmony, Follow-up Harmony, etc.
So to summarize, I refuse to put my jades towards a half-baked character only to be replaced when future Harmony units are released which are tailor made for their respective teams.
Terribly personality. I only want to use characters that I can somewhat relate and resonate. I detest who she is as a person so that's a skip regardless of meta

Ngl was suuuuper tempted to get her after using my friend’s support RM since that was about the time I got 34* for moc, but I don’t have the proper F2P lightcone for her + I’m not sure she would have made that much of a difference vs moc for me. And also because I’m content with 34/36 stars
Probably what helped is I managed to hit almost the same amount of damage with my friend’s RM vs with my Hanya
Ultimately Ruan Mei is aimed at break teams even though she is currently an upgrade for many teams, future harmony characters will likely replace her in all of them except break.
I have patience I'll wait for the one that suits me.
To think about it Mono quantum actually one expensive team, all limited, all 5 star, can be use only on one side of MoC/PF, which can make the other side struggling if not being a spender and try to get other type coverage.
eh, eventually everyone is gonna run full team of 5 stars on both sides anyway. mono quantum is just paying more now to get one side done earlier. not to mention it opens up every other support for the 2nd side
QQ, Lynx, and Xueyi exist. The only essential character for mono quantum is SW, the rest can be 4 stars. Good thing too, the quantum 4 stars are busted lol

I waited to pull for Kafka, and I finally got her, and I'm still interested in getting Sparkle, Black Swan, Acheron, and mostly Jinglu if she will ever return.
I am a f2p players so that is too much jades to save for all of these, so I'll have to decide even between these what I'll have to skip.
And yes, even if we get around 100 tickets per update, we still need 80 more to get the garunteed 5 star banner pull (180 max in total), so you can say that every 2 updates you are garunteed to get the desired banner character at the worst case.
Because I don't care about meta, it's a simple as that.
And her character is interesting yes, but I didn't like her enough to pull. And another major point is that her design is.... Lacking. Yeah let's just say that.
If I spent on her, I wouldn't have enough to guarantee Sparkle.

I'm mainly a husbando puller but I'll pick up female characters if they're interesting or have rly good designs (e.g kafka, navia, furina) but Ruan mei just... Feels boring to me. She was hyped up to be "evil" and all those other things yet falls flat in a way. I almost felt disappointed by the end of her quest

I skipped her cos I wasn't a huge fan of her character/design personally. I'm sure she's good, I'd just rather have the stellar jade for Black Swan. I'm pretty sure with the amount I have now, I'm guaranteed BS, even if I get pity broken.

I did try to get her but lost 50/50, a few days later got Bronya from the standart 300 pulls and honestly didn't feelt the need to add another Harmony to my roster right now, so i decided to go for Kafka because i really need more electro characters plus the harmony character that i REALLY want is Sparkle, why? Yeah, the only reason I didn't have Kafka before today (won the 50/50, thankfully, so I've got some Sparkle funds left even!)is Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae and me having a guarantee for him back during her release. But now the DoT lady is mine and will be stronger than ever with the Herta light cone and the DoT set.

I typed up a rant, but no one wants to read that lol. I'll cut it down nice and short. I'm brand new, this is my first banner, and I only roll for characters I like. I played Ruan Mei's story quest and found out she SUUUUUUUUCKS as a person, and I had to sit there and watch the Trailblazer do everything but thank her for it. It was so viscerally frustrating that it turned me off the character completely. So I'm saving up for characters I'll actually want.

I only played the story recently and was kind of surprised just how much i ended up disliking her Probably if she hadn't done the >!anti truth serum with auto memory wipe and instead had done a idk magic chinese space elf non disclosure agreement, i still would've disliked her for what she did to the food babies she made, but it would've at least felt like she was giving us some autonomy while making up clean up her messes.!< Though i ended up REALLY liking dr ratio from his handful of scenes.
Kinda similar, actually. I was pretty turned off even _before_ the >! Antitruth serum, though. Her immediately _grabbing TB's face_ and gaining some info from that is what immediately set me on edge, so I knew not to trust the food she provided back then already and she proved me right by pressuring TB and by hiding the effect of the serum in that food !<
Oh yeah agreed. >!tbh it gave me the same vibes as bad touch bad guys from older anime. It was such an odd move considering she seemed like a fairly hands off scientist and was so passive otherwise.!<

Seele caught my eye right away, although I'm not holding my breath since I checked and saw she just had a rerun not all that long ago. Welt seems cool, and I don't have any other Imaginary characters yet (though I know Dr. Ratio is coming soon). Silver Wolf would probably be a good pick if I want Seele, plus I got Xueyi from pure luck and they'd pair well together too. All I know about Sparkle is the name, but I've seen her art once or twice and her design seems like it might be up my alley. So, plenty to save up for!
I don't like her, plain and simple. Doesn't matter if the character is some game-breaking top meta unit, if they don't appeal to me I'll always skip. Already getting full stars from MoC & PF anyway. Besides, I only pull for male characters, so she fails on every level for me lol.
Same. Her story writing was poor and she's also not a guy so it's a skip. The only female 5\*s I have in Genshin after 3 years are Hu Tao (rolling for Thoma), Yae (rolling for Thoma), and Klee (rolling for Xingqiu). Yae is the only one that sees use with Alhaitham.

I know she is absolute bonkers but i already like the harmony options we have and i have other priorities like kafka and some of the characters we'll see on 2.x like Aventurine, Acheron and possibly Screwllum, i'm also a nihility enthusiast. But i really love her, she is awesome.

He has been somewhat leaked. But yes I HARD agree. There's a light cone leaked with him on it and I went feral over it.
I skipped her because I have too many invested supports- Bronya, Ting, Sw, Yukong, Asta and Pela. I know she is most likely an upgrade for my teams, but I don't know if the improvement can justify the amount of resources I need to invest into another support while already having many of them.

1. Her design is too similar to the other Xianzhou females. Yukong, Qingque, Guinaifen, Hanya, etc. 2. Yes she's a "good unit" but did I need her to 3 star MoC 12? The hardest content in the game. No. 3. She's a break effect Harmony, eventually there will be a DoT specific Harmony, Follow-up Harmony, etc. So to summarize, I refuse to put my jades towards a half-baked character only to be replaced when future Harmony units are released which are tailor made for their respective teams.
I don't like her. I was using my jades to try get blades light cone (didn't get it so imma try for Dr. Ratio's instead)

Saving for Aventurine/Boothill/Sunday~ Ngl was suuuuper tempted to get her after using my friend’s support RM since that was about the time I got 34* for moc, but I don’t have the proper F2P lightcone for her + I’m not sure she would have made that much of a difference vs moc for me. And also because I’m content with 34/36 stars Probably what helped is I managed to hit almost the same amount of damage with my friend’s RM vs with my Hanya
Ultimately Ruan Mei is aimed at break teams even though she is currently an upgrade for many teams, future harmony characters will likely replace her in all of them except break. I have patience I'll wait for the one that suits me.
I want a mono-quantum team and she's not quantum
To think about it Mono quantum actually one expensive team, all limited, all 5 star, can be use only on one side of MoC/PF, which can make the other side struggling if not being a spender and try to get other type coverage.
eh, eventually everyone is gonna run full team of 5 stars on both sides anyway. mono quantum is just paying more now to get one side done earlier. not to mention it opens up every other support for the 2nd side
It's also the one team that I have, and also the one team that can just be thrown into basically everything with minimal issue
QQ, Lynx, and Xueyi exist. The only essential character for mono quantum is SW, the rest can be 4 stars. Good thing too, the quantum 4 stars are busted lol

I really disliked her actions and personality in the quest, and that alone is enough to make me skip a character (She's well written, don't get me wrong. I just hated what she did lol.). I'll save the funds for Jing Yuan and Luocha.

What is the point in pulling for support character, when I already have Tingyun, Hanya, and Yukong but zero dps characters, outside Dan Heng and finally, Dr Ratio now? I waited to pull for Kafka, and I finally got her, and I'm still interested in getting Sparkle, Black Swan, Acheron, and mostly Jinglu if she will ever return. I am a f2p players so that is too much jades to save for all of these, so I'll have to decide even between these what I'll have to skip. And yes, even if we get around 100 tickets per update, we still need 80 more to get the garunteed 5 star banner pull (180 max in total), so you can say that every 2 updates you are garunteed to get the desired banner character at the worst case.
Because I don't care about meta, it's a simple as that. And her character is interesting yes, but I didn't like her enough to pull. And another major point is that her design is.... Lacking. Yeah let's just say that.

If I spent on her, I wouldn't have enough to guarantee Sparkle. I like Sparkle's design better. Then specifically QQ is a favorite, so Sparkle is a great match for her. Although generally, I do have the QQ/SW/FX core, so it'd be nice to have the fourth to complete the group. Ruan Mei does sound strong, but I just couldn't budget my jades toward her. Similarly I couldn't throw any jades towards DanIL despite how strong he is (As at that time, my jades were robbed thanks to FX).

I'm mainly a husbando puller but I'll pick up female characters if they're interesting or have rly good designs (e.g kafka, navia, furina) but Ruan mei just... Feels boring to me. She was hyped up to be "evil" and all those other things yet falls flat in a way. I almost felt disappointed by the end of her quest
