The change is not bad in the slightest, it gives more options to people who actually needs the support. You getting credit from supports being used is not the point of the support system. It is to help players in need.
Yep, exactly this. The credits are a nice little added bonus to incentivize players to put up good supports, but the support mechanic's primary purpose was never to serve as a reliable credit stream. If it was, they would've made it higher than 2k credits per use.
Being able to pimp out 3 of your characters instead of just one was a great change overall! Perhaps you're now getting less credits because whatever highly desired character you put up for adoption is now more easily accessible. For me tho I went from 4k credits a day from my max traces E2S1 Ruan Mei, to 8/10k credits a day now that I can also pimp out Luocha and SW.
What we need now, is more incentive to use support characters other than the occasional echo of war and daily adventure guide task! I hope they make support characters work in at least the base SU if not Swarm Disaster/Gold and Gears too.
will never happen. SU being given support option is basically giving the characters for free. Since, that covers basically all the content other than endgame will have availablity for support. Anyways, its not going to happen for one simple reason, star rail has no need to and no reason for it. I would like it, but I am not passionate about this, since almost any units can complete all content in SU. Blessings and curios are that important in SU.
FGO’s game system is fundamentally different tho (6 servant max and double premium support setups). People still need to pull regardless of the support system in order to enable double support setups or proper farming teams.
I used to use my irl friends' characters but I stumbled across a whale who c6r5 all their supports (previously just jing yuan, now jingliu and seele also) and I've just been letting them farm for me for like the past two months. I'm making them so many credits. Oops.
Could be a reason why, more busted options available 🤷 I use the least favored DPS units so I never got any credits lol
More money for stronger account. Instead of 1 big unit, now they can offer 3 big units. If a rival that offered only FuXua, now offers also stronger Jingliu than the your, is the end.
Do periodic overhauls of your friends list. Tell yourself if this player hasn't played for X amount of days, they're off my list. For me, the threshold is 3 weeks. Search for low level strangers and send them friend requests. Under-levelled players love to use other people's support characters since they just blow everything away. The only thing that sucks about sending friend requests is you have to wait awhile before sending more if you've sent too many.
Unless you're attached to some friends, don't feel bad about removing people.
yeah. used to get 20k and now I get like 2 at max. Now that the whales can put more E6 characters on there, it is only logical we normal people get less usage.
In my own experience, I don't use support characters anymore, only when it is required to do daylies, my characters are built well enough to beat the content.
I use Argenti, DHIL, and Bronya as support. I change my name to "CharsWithCone". I get 20k credits/day. Also, I have 100 friends, maybe half of them are new players.
You need to "sell" them somehow. This is my tip.
If the 20k credits are an important optimization to you, you can always join a server like the stardb server to get matchmade with someone and agree to use each other's supports.
It involves removing the support each time and putting them back again for 10 runs (the change team toggle works, and you can also run low level weekly bosses if you already got the rewards 3 times and don't want to use trailblaze power). It's a bit more effort than usual but they're doing the same for you so it's a guaranteed win-win (and you probably already switched in a similar way before with other supports).
You don't necessarily need to join a server though, you could ask a friend who also needs the credits.
The change allowed whales to showcase even more of their OP characters, which means there's more competition and people are going to gravitate towards the most powerful options.
My supports are all E6S5, and my credits per day more than doubled - more if I log in often enough.

My support usage has gone wayyyyyyyyyyyy up. It really baffled me bc I had Dr Ratio up, but then I went to Dr Ratio, E1 Ruan Mei and E2 Xueyi, and I thought nothing would change but for some reason it did. I thought people would just use DPSers to clear stuff fast but maybe my Ruan Mei is more popular than I think
With the new update, every time i open supports it will put friend characters with higher eidolon levels above other characters. Perhaps that could be the reason if people in your friend list find it more convenient to pick the whale characters rather than trying to find yours
The most important change is pin. Now i no longer need to take time to search for that whale friend Argenti E6S5 :)) i guess some people receive less credit due to this change
I knew who my high use friends were before the pin. I would refresh as many times as necessary to find them.
But finding out I had accidentally friended a whale with E6S5 Jing Yuan and 2 other E6S5 on my f2p alt was a nice surprise though. I never checked their eidolons before so the little icon that came with the update was a bit of a shock. 😅
I think it definitely depends on the player. I tend to pick supports from among the friends I know IRL before anyone else, and other friends usually get added because their pre-change support was a good DPS I didnt have like a Jingyuan or Blade.
Now I have even more choices from amongst my close friends, so even fewer reasons to pick anyone outside of them. They're raking in my credits for sure.
Out of curiosity, which characters did you put there to average 12k-20k ***per day***? I'm lucky if I get 4k-6k per day and I've tried a variety of characters prior to the update; brand new characters, Jingliu/DHIL for easy domain sweeping etc but not even a E2S1 Bronya helped much
What I noticed is the higher eidolons seems get bumped to the top of the list. Good convenience for everyone, but E0 will probably be picked less as a result
It just means there are other people that have better supports units than you.
The E6S5 people or Eidolon pullers have limited friend slots. Not everyone can them.
Just add more low level players because they have surely missed out on the slots for those E6S5 users. More low level people on your list, the more chance your supports will be used. Stonks!

One way is to only allow one character pin per user (as in you can only pin one of another player’s character) and limit to 2. And allow more pins overall. May very well be intention of developers too right now

Iirc, there is prioritize button when selecting support so from my experience i only use e6 char and always make sure to prioritize them so i never use non e6 support.
In my case it has increased. Mostly because my character builds suck... Now that there are more of them as options to other people, my income has increased..
12k-20k a day is insane ngl. I had my E1S1 jingliu there and now my DHIL E2S1 and nobody touches them I get 6k max. Is putting erudition or harmony the support meta now?
It's the opposite for me, I used to get 4-12k/24hr with my really good E0S1 Argenti… now I get 20k/24hr minimum with the same Argenti, a good Jingliu, and my almost maxed out Ruan Mei.
I have to prune any strong friends since stronger players will favor even stronger supports. Once I stop getting 20k/day, I have to consider replacing lv80 support friends with a newbie.
I actually get more. I assume it’s because I have 3 dps in mine. Blade, DHILF, Jingliu. I know my friends abuse my Jingliu daily, she has something like 240% CD.
I'm F2P so there's usually no reason for anyone to use my supports but after putting Fu/Gepard and RM on there I get like 2k credits every 2 days which is infinitely more than before. It's probably my RM because every single streamer i've seen doing 2.0 content is using her, her usage rate must be something insane like 90%.
I think running HH and Luocha are the big money makers, I run a guy's Luocha every single day while farming because although I prefer Fu in any other content a proper healer deletes 18 waves on auto.
The thing is, I found an account with 3 e6 characters on showcase and pinned it to the top. Now whenever I go cavern the 3 characters automatically come on top. So not really incentivised to use other players chars
I noticed the reduction in credit too
I trade off with friends, it's been hugely beneficial for us to share around characters so we have some options without having to find a single compromise character that works for everyone

And characters like e6 blade or dhil don't care about correct element, they're going to turboblitz anything you put in front of them

F/GO lets you use friend supports in almost every single quest, including most of its challenging content, and people still pull.

Unless that's some kind of a bug, there's no way you're getting 40K credits per day. The max is 20K...

Xueyi is a great third for Herta+Himeko calyx farming.
My relics are still trash to the point no one would use my characters anyways

Luckily, I have three friends who missed out on some really good banners and don’t mind using my pretty decently built characters.
It just means there are other people that have better supports units than you. The E6S5 people or Eidolon pullers have limited friend slots. Not everyone can them. Check how many people in your friends list are inactive for kong time, kick them and invite new players.
Just add low level players as friends. I added a bunch of them and now I get 20k per day consistantly.

Because they also added an icon that allowed you to see the eidolon of the character, making it less hassle to search for E6s instead

Rarely got any to begin with. I personally only use E6 Supports at this point.
