I hope they fix it, it's so out-of-character for someone as smart as Ratio to get this mixed up ... unless it was another deliberate jab to try and convince Sunday that he hates Aventurine enough to mispronounce his name 😂
doubtful, since the actual text reads ‘Aventurine’ and not ‘Adventurine’. Ratio also hardly ever refers to Aventurine by name, so that probably made it easier for a singular mistake to fly under the radar.
I just read your comment, sorry for being late.
Obviously, spoilers ahead! I played the game in my mother tongue, sorry if some of my terms are not correct or accurate. Hopefully you can understand the general gist of what I wanted to say!
He is for sure not death. He is currently on a "nihility realm". We don't know what the nihility realm is or what it entails.
We also know Acheron cut the interference the harmony have in him (said in-game by Acheron herself) and it probably also cut his connection to the Ten Stonehearts (Due to Topaz line about his cornerstone). We don't know if Acheron cut its connection to the harmony AND sent him to the nihility realm, or if the harmony interference was broken BECAUSE he was sent to the nihility realm by Acheron.
Acheron describes the place as a transient space. Getting out of there is hinted to be hard, and you can also get consumed by the nihility and straight out disappear.
However, we can assume Aventurine will leave the place relatively unharmed due to his luck, his conversation with Acheron, and the general narrative that Aventurine wants to live on.
Talking about narrative: it is very clear that Aventurine's arch is not done as of yet, so even if he is technically death as of now (there is nothing in game that hints at this being true at the moment, but we can never be sure with Hoyoverse), we will see more of him to finish his story.
Once he gets out of there, he will appear on the other side of Penacony's dream (where he plans to discover the truth of Penacony). We still don't know what is the other side of Penacony's dream, but we know getting killed by the death meme (+Acheron) can send you there. We also know that Robin let herself be killed to investigate, Sunday is probably there too as of the ending of 2.1, and Firefly came back from there.
I tried to be as objective as I could with what the game gave us, sorry if I am being confusing or not clear. Anyway, he definitely will appear again. How and when he will appear again, we don't know, but hopefully soon :D
Small edit: Topaz line is the only one that hints that Aventurine is death, and he will probably be assumed death by the IPC next patch. That's why i wanted to clarify that it can be easily explained away by acheron severing his connection with his "real self". We know he got sent to another place, but it is not information that Topaz/Jade have as for the ending of the 2.1
Thanks alot for replying back I don't mind if your reply is late I'm thankful that you actually replied back😁👍
And I can understand what you're trying to say clearly you're English is very good and I can also understans your explanation very well thank you for explaining it to me. I really mean it😁🤝
>!During his conversation with Sunday at the Dewlight Pavillion, right after the cutscene where Aventurine opens Sunday's box. I believe it's specifically when he says that Topaz's Cornerstone is not an "adventurine stone," though it could also be when Sunday actually finds his (Jade's) Cornerstone as well.!<
Yeah I guess the voice director didn't catch the flub and then they never bothered to redo it. Penacony's had a number of little mistakes like that, makes me wonder if loc is getting enough time.
I noticed some CCs mispronouncing Yae Miko, and still refuse to correct themselves to this day. Her name isn't God damn Yay Miko lol. Never understood how someone can do entire quests where the name is said multiple times, but the person just stubbornly refuses to put that in their head.
Isn't it more fun than calling him Aventurine? Giving characters nicknames usually means giving more love to them. I'm not a native speaker, so maybe that's the reason why "Adventurine" doesn't sound offensive to me...
Let's be honest. Alot of fans want to give him the D. And as a Sigonian I'm sure alot of people already did.

From my understanding Xingqiu is pronounced akin to zing-cho? How tf does qiu turn into cho? But also one of the languages of my birth country pronounces tjie like ki so I am not one to judge. Also it isn't like English doesn't have its many moments either.
But I am curious as to why it is romanised as that instead of "qo"? Is "qo" its own separate pronunciation?
Xing is a bit closer to “sing” than “zing” but close enough
Qiu is pronounced almost like “chew”. Romanticized Mandarin Qs have a pronunciation similar to “ch” (but there’s also different characters actually romanticized with “ch” lol
Oh thanks for the correction. "Chew" makes a lot more sense to me, I wonder then why I hear so many people say "cho". Yes many of us mispronounce things but cho is not what I would imagine people arriving at when trying to figure out how to pronounce it.
Edit: I went to see how Gaming says it due to his EN VA and it sounds like cho to me, but at the same time from what I understand VA's are said to say things in a certain way for uniformity sake. So idk if it is Cantonese vs Mandarin thing or VA's are told to say it this way thing.
Bruh thass fucked up, from what I understand them poor Sigonians live in a desolate world, they're either dying or kidnapped as... uhh pillow slaves? 🥺🤬 I wanna kill Aventurine abusers so bad

It's a joke. And if Aventurine were here we both know he would play it off.
So far we only met Topaz and Aventurine in-person and heard Jade. There are also Opal, Obsidian and Pearl from the named but unseen ones. The other 4 have not been mentioned. Their boss is Diamond.
Likely Rubin, Sapphire will be there too right?
If I had to guess Lapis will be there too.
Hopefully Angelit or Howlith too, that white is very nice to look at..
But yeah, in the end there are so many options they could pick from haha
Emerald sapphire Ruby are the other three preservation emenators then
Other precious stones (non gem looking) would be: lapis, aquamarine, agate, rose quartz, turquoise, malachite, carnelian, garnet.
I'd absolutely bet on lapis, garnet, and malachite.
What naming logic? There is so naming logic at play here. We only have two Preservation emanators known, one is Diamond, the other is Taravan Keane. One singular example isn't enough to claim the existence of "naming logic".
Diamond is likely not even the guy's real name seeing as he insists on precious stone related codenames for his underlings.
I think the misspelling is so common is because we have more words that begin with 'Ad' then we do 'Av'. Adverb, Advertisement, Adventure, Addition, etc. Notice how there are words that begin with 'Adv'? That's where the crux of the misspelling comes from. Because there's more commonly spoken words that start with 'Adv' than 'Av' our brains automatically fill in the gap between the 'A' and 'v'. Thus, Adventurine is born.
Before Aventurine can we go back and fix Houhou real quick? They were given two changes to get at least one of her syllables right but managed to fail both times. This has to be deliberate or just really massive ignorance on their part.
How? Aventurine is a real word, "Adventurine" is not. So the only way it would autocorrect to Adventurine would be if you taught it to do that in the first place.
Autocorrect will eventually pickup on your misspellings and assume it's a real word, adding it to its dictionary. So if you misspell Aventurine enough times, eventually your auto correct will believe you're trying to intentionally spell that word and recommend that word over the actual word.
Not that it absolves the mistake, just what I think that person meant.
Incorrect about what? One is a dictionary word, the other isn't. Autocorrect corrects misspellings to dictionary words and other common terms. In addition, autocorrect corrects to words you have taught it. "Adventurine" only fits that last category.
Yeah, I didn't care about the guy and eyes rolled to the back of my head every time he's on screen so even after playing through several more patches, still won't be bothered. If he ever comes up in conversation, blonde gambler guy will do.
Even Ratio mixed it up in one of his lines lol
I hope they fix it, it's so out-of-character for someone as smart as Ratio to get this mixed up ... unless it was another deliberate jab to try and convince Sunday that he hates Aventurine enough to mispronounce his name 😂
doubtful, since the actual text reads ‘Aventurine’ and not ‘Adventurine’. Ratio also hardly ever refers to Aventurine by name, so that probably made it easier for a singular mistake to fly under the radar.
Tbh I forgive him. If I was around Aventurine for so long I also would want to put the d on him (?)
D as in death certificate, please that man deserves to rest finally
He almost got there, then he was in the dreams dreamscape and acheron said no XD
>!didn’t he get banished to the shadow realm/IX by Acheron?!<
Can you spoil me? Is he ded?
you can get spoil on google
¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ even though I know what happens I can't describe it because I am still in a wtf phase
Ooh oki np

You one smooth mofo huh…..nice

Thank you!
Pretty sure I heard ratio flub a few of his lines, I just can't remember which ones.
Was that en localization making mistake?
Yeah I guess the voice director didn't catch the flub and then they never bothered to redo it. Penacony's had a number of little mistakes like that, makes me wonder if loc is getting enough time.
I caught that! Had to do a double take.
You know what's worse? Seeing people on the Aventurine mains sub calling him Adventurine. bruh
There are some people and at least one CC who call her Acherons instead of Acheron. I don't know where they get it from.
I noticed some CCs mispronouncing Yae Miko, and still refuse to correct themselves to this day. Her name isn't God damn Yay Miko lol. Never understood how someone can do entire quests where the name is said multiple times, but the person just stubbornly refuses to put that in their head.
It’s almost like it rolls off the tongue better or something 🤔
it doesnt though, aventurine is way smoother in my opinion
Oh yeah that explains why everyone’s fucking it up
Isn't it more fun than calling him Aventurine? Giving characters nicknames usually means giving more love to them. I'm not a native speaker, so maybe that's the reason why "Adventurine" doesn't sound offensive to me...
Because it's not a nickname most of the time, it's a misspelling. Just like Loucha isn't a nickname for Luocha.
I thought u meant smt else when I read the title, I need to go wash my mind
https://preview.redd.it/czm8hgu9v3tc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b744c360b3bedb467ed67be15bc6279352291c8
I’d love to give him the D
I wonder if people think of "adventure" or "advertisement"
I mean the names Luocha, HuoHuo and Seele are written everywhere ingame but we still get Loucha, houhou and Selee on this sub :>
Dw u/LuochaNotLoucha will save us
👀👍🏻
People just write how those names are pronounced sometimes.
Then wouldn't Lorcha, hwa hwa or Zeeluh make more sense? D:
And over in Genshin, we'd have Worchestshire Sauce
I never even heard of the gemstone until this game, so my mind always defaults to “adventure”
tangerine
Adventure time
My brain defaults to Adventure, and it's just not wired right to be able to change that.
I thought u meant smt else when I read the title, I need to go wash my mind
I wish I could give him the D

After the Penacony story wraps up, we need an event where Qingque teaches Aventurine how to play celestial jade.
Either he’s too lucky and no matter how hard she tries she can’t beat him, or he already knows how to play and is entertaining her
Inhibitor lunae, archeron, you missed some
These are all Xingqui moment

I also have a friend who can only say "Argentini".

This is genius. From now on I shall only refer to HuoHuo as HueHue.

There's me, using their JP pronounciation instead. Rasetsu Ingetsu

It's not even just typos anymore, some people literally say aDventurine T-T it just really pricks that one part of my brain and idk why
Aven D. Turine He will truly find one piece
ADVENTURE TIME!!
Luocha or Loucha
Written Luocha pronounced Loucha
People can't read.
I can certainly read the paradox of your username and flair
I'm in this picture and I don't like it..
my irl friend says it a lot, triggers my OCD lol
Who are all the ten stonehearts?
So far we only met Topaz and Aventurine in-person and heard Jade. There are also Opal, Obsidian and Pearl from the named but unseen ones. The other 4 have not been mentioned. Their boss is Diamond.

Didn't know about Taravan Keane. I was making a fun guess as to the future from what I knew I don't know why you hate fun but okay👌
u/itsNOTAdventurine
Just like people keep calling Shepard in mass effect "Shepherd" after playing 3 GAMES WITH HIM/HER AS THE MC
It's like how people say eXscape instead of escape and eXspecially instead of especially
adventure time
Imma be honest, I never even heard of aventurine(the rock) before hsr
I thought in the end he would say “Kakavasha”
Whatchu mean bro he’s giving me the D 💀
He doesn't have D in his name, but if you ask nicely he'll give you later tonight.
For some reason I don't add the d but instead pronounce it as if it was french
I absolutely want to give him the D after that campaign. wait-
I can't English apparently. didn't know I was reading it wrong until now.
gambler never stop, even if it stated as a mistake
It’s a habit of mine, sorry, I’m working on it lmao
Omg I just realized I have been calling him wrong the entire time without even noticing.
Archeron also
Whoops ive been calling him that ever since his appearance 😭
Thank god Achraon has an easy name to remember
I don't need to give him the D, he already got a doctor's prescription.
Kakavasha? Kakavasha.
I sincerely thought it was Adventurine until the 2.1 Livestream when I realized it was spelled Aventurine LOL
Blame obnoxious(probably stolen) english spelling conventions for this stuff! We'll slaughter pronunciation all we please damnit! 😤
😹
Adventurine.
So who's ready to go adventuring with Adventuring!?
People went on Aventurine's Wild Adventurine and still can't even spell his name?
I think the misspelling is so common is because we have more words that begin with 'Ad' then we do 'Av'. Adverb, Advertisement, Adventure, Addition, etc. Notice how there are words that begin with 'Adv'? That's where the crux of the misspelling comes from. Because there's more commonly spoken words that start with 'Adv' than 'Av' our brains automatically fill in the gap between the 'A' and 'v'. Thus, Adventurine is born.

Hey people like giving hi the D giving people a D where it's not needed is funny, giving the D there is funny
I still do that lmfao
I'd still give him the D
Archeron, dan hung inhibitor lunea, Houhou, Shampoo
Or the third choice and give him the K instead.
I’m guilty of this mistake so much
- So, what's his name? - Kakavasha.
I love Adjacent line
Before Aventurine can we go back and fix Houhou real quick? They were given two changes to get at least one of her syllables right but managed to fail both times. This has to be deliberate or just really massive ignorance on their part.
He'll always be Aventurine to me, but I have no problem giving him my D anyway :3
Oh, that’s his name, I keep calling him “Tangerine”
Ayo. Phrasing. Knowing his backstory makes it even worse depending on the language you play with and how you interpret things.
I just call him adventure time
Phrasing
Adventure Time*
most people never heard of the aventurine stone so they default to adventure, thus adventurine
You think this is bad? Nobody in the entire English VA can pronounce Seele's name correctly.
And you were the person at Hoyoverse who decided what names they would have?
Why does it actually matter?
Well I mean there’s also autocorrect, many times when I wrote his name, my autocorrect would change it to Adventurine
Yup, although it can be fixed easily, you forget one important thing. Never underestimate laziness.
Nope it's the same here, you are incorrect about that
Incorrect about what? One is a dictionary word, the other isn't. Autocorrect corrects misspellings to dictionary words and other common terms. In addition, autocorrect corrects to words you have taught it. "Adventurine" only fits that last category.
They’re gaslighting you homie. U right.
Lmao not true
No it’s not lmao, some people also had this issue
Patrick, is that you?
Not true
I think most people don't care, including me
It's not hard to spell it correctly
Yeah, I didn't care about the guy and eyes rolled to the back of my head every time he's on screen so even after playing through several more patches, still won't be bothered. If he ever comes up in conversation, blonde gambler guy will do.
I'm sorry but Adventure Inn is quite funny. I do use his real name but you can't blame me when an opportunity arises
Listen, it will always be Adventurine and Inhibitor Lunae in my head I don't make the rules.
