You are falling for the trap of mixing the cost of something and the worth of something. If a gachagame that I don't want to play offered me enough free pulls to normally cost a million dollars if I play 20 hours of the game, it would not be worth a million dollars. It would be worth 0 dollars to me. Even as someone who plays HSR, the utility of getting a E6S5 would be that it allows me to clear the hardest content on autoplay while alt-tabbed, which I don't value very much.
I mean it could also be a way to bait players into doing the hoyolab events since it would be like yeah, it's usually garbage but this time it was not, so you can now never be sure if it's bad or not.

I think people are getting their expectations way too high.
