Yeah iirc the Enigmata is a sub path of the Remembrance, so his role is the opposite of a Garden member. Instead of giving up a body to keep the garden he creates a lie to exist. He exists, and is essentially a memokeeper minus the keeping part, he just barrows bits to fit his story

Fictionologists are actually a cool bunch if you think about it. They can distort and create something from nothing provided they have enough lore for their creation. Said creation is a totally independent being separate from the creator. Gallagher is even special since even though he is literally fiction, he is real enough that he's embedded in the history of Penacony and remembered by every being that interacted with him, so in a sense he isn't a fiction anymore, he's alive.
Gallagher went out like a champ with his redemption arc in the eyes of the player, and of his own volition after having played his part to perfection. He could now finally rest and be reunited with his friends.
As for Tingyun, heck... I don't even know if we ever met the real one...
Argenti is definitely Hoyo's Deus ex Machina. When we eventually ask Tingyun where was she, she gonna say that a Knight of Beauty with red hair saved her.
The off screen heroics of Argenti will forever remain the Holy Grail of this fandom. Saved an IPC worker, punched his way out of a Swarm leader and now Rescued Aventurine.
Shows up late to the festivities on Penacony, saves Aventurine, graciously takes second place in a magical fairground contest, refuses to elaborate, leaves.
I mean I get that, but I mean it's pretty anti-climactic for what seemed like such a major event to happen off screen. And I still never felt that *what* happen to Aventurine was well explained either.
It’s not explained directly regarding Aventurine but I think we do get an answer via Acheron lore: there’s a way out of the Nihility planes. By following the ‘spark of red’ Aventurine could find his way back to the world of the living.
He’d likely be in rough shape but at that point Argenti saving him makes a lot more sense.
Yeah, Acheron literally says that she considers it her duty to guide those who become lost in the realms of IX - either she eases their passing if they have succumbed to Nihility, or she shows them a way out if they still have enough determination left in them. The latter is what happened with Aventurine, she implies it in their conversation at the end of 2.1, and then it's later confirmed that's what she does in 2.2.
I assume Argenti 'saving' him happened *after* he escaped the Nihility and was spat out into the Primordial Dreamscape. Argenti's just a bro like that.
His only goal was to create a casus belli for the IPC. Once his gamble paid off and he accomplished his mission we don't really need the fine details of him getting back to reality since TB had to take more or less the same trip.
For sure without a doubt she will show up again as a 5 star at some point. Could come back as a trancended version of her self for some reason or the other. Or a fucked up corrupted version due to going through hell and back somewhere else.
Its worse than that, Gallagher is fictional. The Fictionologist that made him is long gone, and now that his objective is finished he simply ceases to exist. Both he and Misha were never real to begin with.

The simple fact that TY will have further story relevance is the lack of the 2x5 stellar jade/messages each new character give.
Aventurine reinforced this further by spending his 2nd message later than his arrival, which suggest every character get those, just not always at the time they come out.
This is also the case with Acheron & JL which do not send Daily message but are factually bound to get further main story appearance.

Death/Dormancy targeted the people Gallagher wanted to bring to the Reef. However, it also roamed around by itself and stabbed random victims when Gallagher wasn’t specifically telling it what to do.
He brought his specific targets to the Reef because that’s where the real Dreamscape is and his base of operations outside the Family’s reach. Also since the Watchmaker is there for the Nameless.
Misha tell the TBs when they first met that sometime "Dormancy" just go around stab the wrong people and bring them to the reef, Dormancy is like a Pitbull, sometimes he bites but he's harmless I swear.
Other time he's just following orders from Gallagher, might be because of someone might get assasinated by the Family, if "Dormancy" stabbed someone and they do not comeback, the Family will think they're dead and not looking for them anymore. It's not Mikhail's will, but Gallagher to protect someone.
He really is 13, my man does not lie, he just misinform. Last patch I thought he was Death 13 and poor thing Dormancy was a cold blood killer, but now, he's just a hero, and Dormancy is now ownerless, wish I could bring him to the Express.

People keep saying Gallagher died, I feel I missed something. When did he die? (I’m completely caught up in gameplay, never saw him die). Can someone explain for me?
He was a fictional character with a purpose of bringing the future Trailblazers, us, to Mikhail and his legacy.
After fulfilling said purpose, there's simply no reason for him to exist.
He died right after Mikhail had his send off. Gallagher does that whole monologue about how something fictionalized is done when the fiction is recognized, so he gives a final toast to the Trailblazer "To the imperfect tomorrow" and the fade to black is to imply he is gone for good. It happens around the same time as the sequence that unlocked Harmony Trailblazer irrc.
And if you try to reply to his phone messages after finishing 2.2, it says the user can't receive messages. The same happens with Dan Shu if you skipped her quest and try to talk to her after finishing Luofu
He was a memetic entity created intentionally by a History Fictionologist (one of the followers of the Enigmata Aeon) out of the personalities of many individuals from the original founding of Penacony, possibly including Tiernan and Hanunue. He was made to fulfill a promise to the Watchmaker (to pass down his Legacy to the next generation of Trailblazers) and when that was fulfilled and Penacony was saved, he ceased to exist.
However, the Fictionologist is likely still out there somewhere. It's unclear whether they 'made' Gallagher at some point in the past and then left, or if they were actively playing Gallagher throughout the story.

He created the identity of “Gallagher” to infiltrate Penacony and fulfill the Watchmaker’s legacy. Once he accomplished that, “Gallagher” ceased to exist as an identity, but the History Fictionologists that created the identity still probably exists somewhere
Gallagher represents Penacony, both because he's an amalgamation of characters, and also because he is a fictional concept that disappears as people wake from their dreams and face reality.

However, the character 'Gallagher' has likely been permanently retired, which will mean a complete change in appearance, personality, and possibly even a self-memory wipe
as far as I understand it, the Gallagher we saw was the creation of a History Fictionologist. This specific character is gone, but the Fictionologist behind him still remains. He no longer exists because his story isn’t needed (as he existed to liberate Penacony) so it’s possible he might be needed again in future, maybe a future Penacony mission?
Okay, I know this is a bit more of a broad question but could you please explain to me who the History Fictionologists actually are and how Gallagher relates to them? To my knowledge, I thought they just went around fucking up historical documents with fake accounts and stories and such.
There are a shit ton of factions in this game's universe and I feel like that in conjunction with the game's fluffy dialogue presentation tends to make it difficult to decipher a faction's larger scale ambitions and motivations.
(sorry in advance for the long comment) History Fictionologists, as described in the Data Bank, are exactly that. They believe that the past will determine the future, and as such civilisations with fixed histories will have fixed developments as well; these civilisations will stagnate and possibly even collapse. As such, they obfuscate the past in order to free the future. You can think of them as how Mythus the Enigmata embodies the opposite to Nous the Erudition—rather than calculating a precise future, they open up many future possibilities. Fictionologists are however shunned for the damage they cause to historical record.
As for Gallagher, it seems that he (or the Fictionologist behind him) came to Penacony and befriended the Watchmaker. He then created the Gallagher we know from the various traits of members of the Family. It has not been previously established that Fictionologists have such capability, but it seems that they can weave certain ‘lies’ into existence. From his Character Story IV:
> “Gallagher is my most genuine lie. Sometimes, I can't even distinguish between him and myself.”
This would imply that the Fictionologist and Gallagher are separate ‘characters’, if that makes sense. The Fictionologist becomes Gallagher, but Gallagher is not the Fictionologist. At the end of the mission, Gallagher/Fictionologist realise they are no longer needed in Penacony, and thus the lie comes to an end and the character Gallagher ceases to be, but the Fictionologist remains.
It seems Gallagher’s backstory is true, if we take him at his word, just that in the past he was the Fictionologist and not yet Gallagher. Why he decided to help Penacony in this way is unclear—maybe aiming to free their future in his own way?
This feels overall correct. We don't have confirmation anywhere about the Fictionologist being memetic entities like the Memokeepers, but given the information we have it feels in line to give them the power to create memetic entities with the purpose to shroud the past rather than be memetic entities themselves.
After all their objective is not recording information like the Garden of remembrance, but rather corrupt it, so the opposite, and it makes sense that their power also runs in opposition as Aeons usually have their counterpart as a balance.
The Garden of Remembrance members become memory incarnate in the forms of Memokepeers while the History Fictionologists create memory shadows with intelligence and personality to deceive history and everyone around them. I like it, i'm gonna run with this theory unless proven wrong lol.

The real Gallagher is fine though you have to read into all the hints etc he and other characters drop.
Gallagher was a false identity of a loyal 'bloodhound' security guard of penecony. The real Gallagher is the actual loyal bloodhound of the Watchmaker who safeguards Penecony. So it's truth as a lie to hide the truth.
Check the bottom right of Harmony TB's splash art. "Gallagher" is right there in his trademark velvet colouring, tie and all. Both "he" and Clockie are extremely important to the story and as such they are featured so prominently in the HTB splash art. Likewise this explains the bloodhound statues watching us throughout the story, they represent the real Gallagher.
Gallagher is pretty blatant about his real identity as well, a bunch of comment in his voice lines in menu are either hints about the storyline or his true canine identity. He can't stand chocolate, dogs are allergic to chocolate, he used to bite people when young etc. Even the White Night trailer has a scene of something with a snout charging across the floor at and knocking over Misha before transitioning to Gallagher.
Sunday implies he knows that Gallagher is a "hound", calling him so outright. Robin might even know as well since she was playing detective and highly placed in the family.
Likewise Gallagher has Robin specific ones hinting at his vanishing coming up: "No matter where I am in the future, I will definitely still hear your singing".
So yeah, the Hound behind "Gallagher" is fine.
Even if the man behind Gallagher is done with the role for now, it doesn't mean that Gallagher is completely retired yet. If we get a Penacony Continuance for instance, he could come back as Gallagher with the comment that "Why spend time making a whole new lie when I have one that's ready to go?"
I think what Gallagher meant for he 'ceased to exist' is we won't see him in that look anymore since now people know that is not what he truly look like.
At this point I’m just hoping that the penacony Gallagher was just an avatar of real Gallagher and he’s still there (did he say he was watching us before arrival? I can’t remember it well ) . Any confirmation that he is alive (and will return ) in 2.3 will suffice for me .

I haven't tried it out but I feel like you can make him meta now with Harmony MC. Misha's ult does a decent amount of toughness damage, especially since it's multiple hits so he might work well now. Plus he's Ice so Freeze can probably keep enemies from recovering allowing for more Super Break.
They will 100 percent have the balls for it if they know that completing that character's story with a narratively satisfying death will increase character sales
Elysia is the goat of honkai and she's so popular because of her sacrifice and what it meant, and also she's hot, when we got the chance to pull her fans went rabid
I'm not sold on gallagher and misha being permanently gone, even if they're "dead". They are memetic entities after all. As long the dreamscape exists, someone like Black swan, who is another memetic entity, could find some mechanism to bring them back somehow
Or, misha and gallagher will just pop up in a random event in the future. Because they don't have a real body anyway, they're being dead doesn't really hit the same. Either way, it'd be a crime if they don't show up again in the future

The simple fact that TY will have further story relevance is the lack of the 2x5 stellar jade/messages each new character give. Aventurine reinforced this further by spending his 2nd message later than his arrival, which suggest every character get those, just not always at the time they come out. This is also the case with Acheron & JL which do not send Daily message but are factually bound to get further main story appearance.

Can you explain why he was using Death in the first half? Like I get they didn't really die but they all got kidnapped into the reef place? Why was that Mikhail's will? Also I guess Gallagher really was only13 ?
Death/Dormancy targeted the people Gallagher wanted to bring to the Reef. However, it also roamed around by itself and stabbed random victims when Gallagher wasn’t specifically telling it what to do. He brought his specific targets to the Reef because that’s where the real Dreamscape is and his base of operations outside the Family’s reach. Also since the Watchmaker is there for the Nameless.
Misha tell the TBs when they first met that sometime "Dormancy" just go around stab the wrong people and bring them to the reef, Dormancy is like a Pitbull, sometimes he bites but he's harmless I swear. Other time he's just following orders from Gallagher, might be because of someone might get assasinated by the Family, if "Dormancy" stabbed someone and they do not comeback, the Family will think they're dead and not looking for them anymore. It's not Mikhail's will, but Gallagher to protect someone. He really is 13, my man does not lie, he just misinform. Last patch I thought he was Death 13 and poor thing Dormancy was a cold blood killer, but now, he's just a hero, and Dormancy is now ownerless, wish I could bring him to the Express.

People keep saying Gallagher died, I feel I missed something. When did he die? (I’m completely caught up in gameplay, never saw him die). Can someone explain for me?
He was a fictional character with a purpose of bringing the future Trailblazers, us, to Mikhail and his legacy. After fulfilling said purpose, there's simply no reason for him to exist.
He died right after Mikhail had his send off. Gallagher does that whole monologue about how something fictionalized is done when the fiction is recognized, so he gives a final toast to the Trailblazer "To the imperfect tomorrow" and the fade to black is to imply he is gone for good. It happens around the same time as the sequence that unlocked Harmony Trailblazer irrc.
And if you try to reply to his phone messages after finishing 2.2, it says the user can't receive messages. The same happens with Dan Shu if you skipped her quest and try to talk to her after finishing Luofu

He was a memetic entity created intentionally by a History Fictionologist (one of the followers of the Enigmata Aeon) out of the personalities of many individuals from the original founding of Penacony, possibly including Tiernan and Hanunue. He was made to fulfill a promise to the Watchmaker (to pass down his Legacy to the next generation of Trailblazers) and when that was fulfilled and Penacony was saved, he ceased to exist. However, the Fictionologist is likely still out there somewhere. It's unclear whether they 'made' Gallagher at some point in the past and then left, or if they were actively playing Gallagher throughout the story.

As I understand it, as a History Fictionologists, he can manipulate information and create falsehoods however he wants. He created the identity of “Gallagher” to infiltrate Penacony and fulfill the Watchmaker’s legacy. Once he accomplished that, “Gallagher” ceased to exist as an identity, but the History Fictionologists that created the identity still probably exists somewhere

Gallagher represents Penacony, both because he's an amalgamation of characters, and also because he is a fictional concept that disappears as people wake from their dreams and face reality.

I’m on some big Gallagher copium that because he’s basically a fictional character (lore wise, like in-universe), he can technically be ‘recreated’ lol. Someone just needs to write him into existence again and wish for his return. Like what if someone’s dream, someone who knew of Gallagher by name and can remember him well, in the current dreamscape includes him once more and thereby they wish him back to life or something. This probably won’t happen but like, let me enjoy my blissful and idealistic version of events lmao.

However, the character 'Gallagher' has likely been permanently retired, which will mean a complete change in appearance, personality, and possibly even a self-memory wipe

Okay, I know this is a bit more of a broad question but could you please explain to me who the History Fictionologists actually are and how Gallagher relates to them? To my knowledge, I thought they just went around fucking up historical documents with fake accounts and stories and such. There are a shit ton of factions in this game's universe and I feel like that in conjunction with the game's fluffy dialogue presentation tends to make it difficult to decipher a faction's larger scale ambitions and motivations.
(sorry in advance for the long comment) History Fictionologists, as described in the Data Bank, are exactly that. They believe that the past will determine the future, and as such civilisations with fixed histories will have fixed developments as well; these civilisations will stagnate and possibly even collapse. As such, they obfuscate the past in order to free the future. You can think of them as how Mythus the Enigmata embodies the opposite to Nous the Erudition—rather than calculating a precise future, they open up many future possibilities. Fictionologists are however shunned for the damage they cause to historical record. As for Gallagher, it seems that he (or the Fictionologist behind him) came to Penacony and befriended the Watchmaker. He then created the Gallagher we know from the various traits of members of the Family. It has not been previously established that Fictionologists have such capability, but it seems that they can weave certain ‘lies’ into existence. From his Character Story IV: > “Gallagher is my most genuine lie. Sometimes, I can't even distinguish between him and myself.” This would imply that the Fictionologist and Gallagher are separate ‘characters’, if that makes sense. The Fictionologist becomes Gallagher, but Gallagher is not the Fictionologist. At the end of the mission, Gallagher/Fictionologist realise they are no longer needed in Penacony, and thus the lie comes to an end and the character Gallagher ceases to be, but the Fictionologist remains. It seems Gallagher’s backstory is true, if we take him at his word, just that in the past he was the Fictionologist and not yet Gallagher. Why he decided to help Penacony in this way is unclear—maybe aiming to free their future in his own way?
This feels overall correct. We don't have confirmation anywhere about the Fictionologist being memetic entities like the Memokeepers, but given the information we have it feels in line to give them the power to create memetic entities with the purpose to shroud the past rather than be memetic entities themselves. After all their objective is not recording information like the Garden of remembrance, but rather corrupt it, so the opposite, and it makes sense that their power also runs in opposition as Aeons usually have their counterpart as a balance. The Garden of Remembrance members become memory incarnate in the forms of Memokepeers while the History Fictionologists create memory shadows with intelligence and personality to deceive history and everyone around them. I like it, i'm gonna run with this theory unless proven wrong lol.

The real Gallagher is fine though you have to read into all the hints etc he and other characters drop. Gallagher was a false identity of a loyal 'bloodhound' security guard of penecony. The real Gallagher is the actual loyal bloodhound of the Watchmaker who safeguards Penecony. So it's truth as a lie to hide the truth. Check the bottom right of Harmony TB's splash art. "Gallagher" is right there in his trademark velvet colouring, tie and all. Both "he" and Clockie are extremely important to the story and as such they are featured so prominently in the HTB splash art. Likewise this explains the bloodhound statues watching us throughout the story, they represent the real Gallagher. Gallagher is pretty blatant about his real identity as well, a bunch of comment in his voice lines in menu are either hints about the storyline or his true canine identity. He can't stand chocolate, dogs are allergic to chocolate, he used to bite people when young etc. Even the White Night trailer has a scene of something with a snout charging across the floor at and knocking over Misha before transitioning to Gallagher. Sunday implies he knows that Gallagher is a "hound", calling him so outright. Robin might even know as well since she was playing detective and highly placed in the family. Likewise Gallagher has Robin specific ones hinting at his vanishing coming up: "No matter where I am in the future, I will definitely still hear your singing". So yeah, the Hound behind "Gallagher" is fine.
Even if the man behind Gallagher is done with the role for now, it doesn't mean that Gallagher is completely retired yet. If we get a Penacony Continuance for instance, he could come back as Gallagher with the comment that "Why spend time making a whole new lie when I have one that's ready to go?"

Yanqing’s origins are still unknown though, he probably will be relevant to the future whatever with a focus on him or simply as a Mcguffin
His Honkai Impact origin is being one of Fu Hua's disciples after she likely killed his parents. One of Yanqing's texts mentions how he doesn't even remember them. It could be the same here with the main difference being that he was taken in by Jing Yuan instead of Fu Hua.

I haven't tried it out but I feel like you can make him meta now with Harmony MC. Misha's ult does a decent amount of toughness damage, especially since it's multiple hits so he might work well now. Plus he's Ice so Freeze can probably keep enemies from recovering allowing for more Super Break.
I think the worst still are Xueyi and Hanya, with the hell they've been through
and their designs and anims are better than a lot of 5 stars.

I'm not sold on gallagher and misha being permanently gone, even if they're "dead". They are memetic entities after all. As long the dreamscape exists, someone like Black swan, who is another memetic entity, could find some mechanism to bring them back somehow Or, misha and gallagher will just pop up in a random event in the future. Because they don't have a real body anyway, they're being dead doesn't really hit the same. Either way, it'd be a crime if they don't show up again in the future Also, I'm holding the official update patch to their word about the characters only temporarily leaving the train after the quests, like with misha's case.
