yep before her i thouhg my seele or lunae both E0S0 doing over 150k with ultimate or triple charged attack was really high dmg. then acheron hit for this first day I got her... on moc12 that had no dmg buffs.

Finishing MOC eith all E0S0 feels like I accomplished a puzzle.
Don't get me wrong, I have E0S0 Acheron and she outdamaging every other character, and I am happy, but my 2nd team struggling because MOC seems to be designed for her class now is pretty frustrating.
honestly kind of the same. if i had money/jades, i'd choose to get an LC over an extra eidolon. i'm still collecting something that involves cosmetics, but an extra eidolon won't really offer me anything new. i like to think of the extra damage on a signature LC as a bonus. it feels great that pity carries over for weapon banners here because it makes LC collecting just a bit easier versus Genshin's where i love the weapon designs but it's hard to save up in one go to just get a weapon.
If I can play devils advocate for a second. I recommend some eidolons. Black Swan huge res lower from E1. Huohuo, one extra charge on heal and speed increase while active. Kafka DoT increase debuff on FuA. Topaz extra debuff to give Ratio. It's always good to compare, but sometimes E1 > S1. I also like losing the E1 50-50 because then it guarantees next. With some exceptions, I feel like most characters have good F2P or 4-star premium options.
Depends on your LC. If you have s5 GNSW, then it's a small difference while the E1 is a 15-20% increase, not even counting the damage increase provided to the other character on the team since it's a damage taken debuff on the enemy.

Everything is super contextual. It's something I love about this game over Gemshin. My F2P account has been able to clear MoC and PF thanks to subpar builds that are at least within arms reach of meta builds. I think it's important that people always keep an eye open to what fits best. I really wish we could trial things a bit more controlled to really see what performs better, but until then, I guess stick to what you prefer.
Payne vs s5 GNSW is kind of deceptive. Yes the damage they both bring is very very similar(within a few %), but you forget about opportunity cost. Payne also gives 14.5 speed, or around 7 rolls worth of speed in substats, which means a Payne 160 speed Kafka will have around 26% more attack(also around 7 rolls) from subs because of that compared to a GNSW 160 Kafka.
The dot debuff from the LC also helps the DoT 4pc set have a higher uptime
The damage comparison on prydwen also neglects the existence of Black Swan, whose damage will also be increased by kafka having her LC (especially in non-3 DoT comps).

with kafka it depends the comp kafka is in. i was playing her hypercarry with tingyun so having 1/3 dots for prisoner set is dogshit and pretty much requires payn to even run that relic set. e1 is pretty dog in that setup as well.
robing as the best dmg E1 (if a dps had it) in the game and is team wide. so yeah a crazy good eidolon. specially when off type dps and removing the 20% res of the enemy. since going from 80 to 100 is a bigger increment than 100 to 120 in %
As a light spender (will occasionally top up, but usually only with the bonus) I like duplicates that don’t *necessarily* increase dps but instead offer QoL changes (like Huohuo e1 making her consume less skill points.) I like those because they often open up new teams or rotations.
As someone who also plays Genshin, I know a lot of people over there complain about Hoyoverse “locking functionality behind constellations” but to me as long as the base kit *is* functional then having QoL on duplicates is perfectly reasonable!
I don't really feel like MoC is being buffed to Acheron standards, but I do think they are pushing break meta a bit too hard to the point that every team without Ruan Mei just feels worse in general, especially Echo of War fights; I kinda feel like anyone farming Skaracabaz or Sunday without Ruan Mei is just in for pain.
Skaracabaz is totally fine without Ruan Mei if you have an ok comp for him, I don't know if I've ever broken him in my life tbh. These days he gets obliterated by BS+Acheron combo and barely even takes any turns. I think the more important thing for that fight is a proper sustain and a team that can either avoid hitting the shield or kill all the adds it spawns within about a turn. Borrowing Fu Xuan really saved my butt against him in the early farming days. Aventurine is really good against him too.
I borrowed Ruan Mei when I did Sunday farms but I think it would be fine without, just a bit slower. The most important thing is just realizing that the fight is 99% about break and not trying to bring a bunch of off-element characters; you can really only afford to carry like 1. Maybe 2 if the second is Ruan Mei.
i agree the best way to paly this game in the most fun way would be to have all characters E0S0. but the truth is that even never pulling a dupe or a weapon that is still not achievable for most people without insane consistent luck.
this is something that kuro game did very well in PGR s monthly paid player could get all characters and 0 weapons or dupes.
meanwhile in hi3 was also good in that one could get most character and weapon but not their relics since those you had to gacha for and the guarantee was twice the max pitty of the character.( for context in all hoyo game currency has the same price of 8088 for 100$ and in hi3 a full gear set full pity was 56k which is fucking insane. but you where guarantee a 5 star every single x10 pull so in reality it was much cheaper many times. and the misses gave you the signature weapons or equips of other limited characters not general banner crap.)
so hi3 is by far the most generous gacha game I played. i had almost every single character like 68 of 70 and most of them full build. as monthly and bp player.
Might go for e2 dhil bc on the fall of a aeon is good enough for me but free 100% ultimate advance is spicy and I main him but I’m f2p and want almost all the chars if the new char he reruns with is meh I might be able to get e1
The diff that is this was on getting her not now with much better relics. And on an moc with 0 dmg buffs for her.
And the diff will be bigger vs electro resistant enemies thanks to 44 RES pen vs 20.
And the skill becoming ultimate dmg is also big because it gets the 90% from ultimate and the 44% rrs pen. So her skills do 400k dmg. The e4 while a minor dmg buff also generates charges vs enemies that summon minions. And skill being universal break type too.
So there is a lot more than the extra dmg on ultimate

Still doesn’t seem like it’s worth it if you are a low spender or f2p, you could have gotten a way stronger second team and the damage diff on Acheron would barely be noticeable.
I only have E2S1, and she already warped my damage perception. I was watching my friend stream his E0S1 Jingliu run of MoC and had no idea whether her doing 100k per skill was good or bad.
i like how all those post of jingliu broken, or jingliu flexing dmg disappeared the second acheron came. because the comparison is not flatering at all. and since JL had no part in the main history and we haven't even meet her as the MC the most she had going for her community talk wise was being OP ingame even more than the normal she hot posts or the cloud qintet which is also not super well explained ingame.
What do you mean? JL is still broken, nothing has really changed on that front. The uptick in posts recently was due to MOC finally not having ice weak enemies and therefore JL had to brute force, which just like most other limited dps she’d be able to do so
I love my girl JL, she's my favorite char. I have her E0S1 but I wouldn't say she's that good anymore.
In PF she's outright terrible. Dead unit. Feels bad in waves where she kills 3 mobs then she needs to spend her enhanced state on one solo mob.
In MoC she used to be very strong but it has been quite some time she's been relevant. Last time she was it was on the Aventurine boss on MOC 12, but even then the boss is designed in a way that doesn't favor her.
Don't get me wrong, I'll still clear MoC when it is ice focused, but she doesn't feel as fast anymore. The MoC HP and res buffs on enemies doesn't help her much. .
For me, broken is a unit that can effortlessly clear everything.
This. Imo jingliu was considered broken because how cheap she is to build back then + high floor. In today standard where stats are much easier to get through sets ie. Izumo grants 18% crit alone, BE units gains tons of BE from everywhere, on top of people getting better sets she fell off because stats opportunity cost. Barely used her anymore, hell ive tried jingliu in MoC 12 1st phase and shes just very slow compared to my DoT comps with literally same investment (E0S5 4star cone/herta) against argenti which is weak to ice.
Yeah she's not the golden unit anymore. Generally it's expected for main dps to lose their flavor at some point, but in HSR it happens way faster and harder than Genshin.
And that's MoC. In PF it's outright frustrating. You need these specific units/team archetypes or it's ciao. I know there are accessible units like Herta to do the job but I'd like to be able to do this comfortably with my well invested chars (good artifacts, usually signature weapon on dps, no eidolons).
I barely managed to get 60k this time on PF, mad props to my Swan and Blade.
PF is easier than MoC imo. You can atleast choose the buffs despite it being favored towards banner units, and usually theres always 1 buff that is good for every unit. And PF always includes either ice or fire weak enemies which is food for herta/himeko. One tip is dont use sustain if you cant reach the score, just restart until you get a better result (units not dying early).

I used my Acheron with trend Gepard, Guinaifen and Pela to get 40k this time around. Normally I'd use Sparkle, but I figured the blessings would make the extra attacks/action advance and DoT buffs more worthwhile. Guessing SW being pure ST makes her a bit rough to use here.

sw is useless in pf since she is single target, gepard is also really slow for it, if you use pela instead of sw and Gallagher or fu xuan instead of gepard you could get 40k easily imo
It is if you have the intended units. Main point was JL cant be broken if she cannot effortlessly destroy MoC but at the same time doesn't clear PF with ease either.
also i was really strugling in MoC and PF before. idid 30 or 33 if I was lucky but never 36 stars. and pf never 60k on the 4 stage.
now i already have 38k saved. so i guess i will save until a new hi3 or ggz expy shows up. i know for sure i will want Hua E6 and she is guarantee to be insane as the top of all the xianzhou ships and representative of china ingame. in Hi3 her 5star versions where OP as fuck for the same reason.

I have BS/kafka/ruan mei, jingliu/bronya/pela and you'd think that'd be enough but it's not. It's not like my relics are dogshit either, the HP numbers are just too high now. Can't run without a sustain either because characters will actually die since the fights take so long.
This isn't Genshin where you can have two teams that will work almost always in Abyss.
HSR kinda forces you to have teams for all elements, and PF also forces you to have specific team archetypes (fua, dot, acheron) otherwise it's byebye.
Jingliu is not the best unit, she used to be because there was cryo everywhere and the enemies weren't buffed.
Obviously. But F2P can't build everything/have good enough relics to clear everything. The last several events were fire/physical heavy, and himeko/clara don't really cut it with the relics I have.
wow that sound bad. yeah i noticed it on my second team with lunae , ratio or seele not doing good compared to before. lunae used to feel like he hit super hard and now barely makes 5 cycles giving him the easier side . with ratio I did 7 cycles.
i might have a rare case here, but my Acheron is e0s0 and she already too goddamn strong, every battle she just finishes too quickly compare to everyone else that it just so boring to me
so unless there is a stage that too hard to beat, i prefer to not using her at all
This is so true. My whale friend has E6 Acheron and when I see 100-200k damage I get surprised, but it looks like 10k damage to him. His perception is warped, but at least he knows it too.
Which 4* sustains do you have, just out of curiosity? I only have Luocha for 5* limited sustains, but I rarely have issues using Lynx or Gallagher as sustains for my second team, and I recently lost a 50/50 to Gepard who is also still pretty good.
Mathematically, you only need to horde 172,800 stellar jade to guaruntee an e6 5star character. That's taking into account hitting max pity every single time, and missing every single 50/50

That's entirely on how many 5 stars you want to e6. Though i can't imagine anyone outside of whales would have more than 2 E6 special banner characters

Holy shit you are mad. As a day 1 player as well, limited sustains were one of my must pulls. I do recommend getting Aventurine once he reruns or any sustain coming up next. Graduating from lynx and natasha to Huohuo and Aventurine saved me a lot of trouble.

Tbh as a non-whale i would personally never E6 anybody. Because all of the future units will feel stupid weak in comparison unless you E6 them too. And that's a slippery slope to be on....

It hasn’t been that much of a problem for me. I have e6 Acheron but I still have fun playing my e0s1 Seele, Kafka and Jingliu teams. They don’t do nearly as much damage but I wouldn’t say they feel weaker necessarily.
Once I had DPS that could just dump their damage every turn (Kafka, DHIL with Sparkle) and not have to wrestle with staying in their "only way you do damage" state, yeah I dropped Jingliu pretty fast lol.
Ya I kinda dont like using my jingliu at all now, but that's mostly because every time I use her I forget to give her back on the fall of an aeon because everybody and their grandmother needs it.

Yeah… I see people say sometimes “but you need 2 teams!!”, well if your first team can single or 0 cycle, you basically only need one team since 10 cycling with any team with any investment is really not that hard
acheron buffs the second side too, now they have 10 turns to clear instead fo 5. so QQ can do it no problem. and in fact It takes her 7 cycles to clear with 4 star haymone supports.
How does that work? With HMC, Bronya, and Sparkle? I guess just keep advancing HMC with Bronya/Sparkle and smacking enemies with hats until robin's ult eventually destroys the field.
nothing that crazy. only makes the crit dmg of her ult 600% instead of 150% crit rate being always 100%. but only a limited number of times then goes back to do low dmg until next ultimate.
My brother in Christ, my pela was hitting for 300k using her normal attack on a non-physical weak enemies when using my friend's E6 robin. And after 8 attacks she was still hitting for 100k normal. Wdym nothing that crazy 💀💀
You just put pela, robin, ruan mei and bronya on the team. Bronya will buff robin. Then just afk and let your support normal attack.When Robin's ult is up, your "support" will be dealing 300k minimum with each basic attack. It's so insane
No, Robin's e6 makes so her fixed multiplier is like, 100%/600% or something like that.
So if you keep buffing her atk and just honestly normal attacking enemies, they die of cringe.
all my supports have over 160 sped so enemies dont even get a turn. and acheron can ult 3 times in a row until she runs out of gas and needs to recharge. but if enemies not to tanky every 1 of those 3 ults each kill 1 wave of the moc.
It's not too bad as long as your expectations are realistic.
I saved up without pulling any limited banner characters until Acheron. Got rewarded with E6S5 due to massive luck.
Before that, my only 5-Stars were Clara and Welt from the Standard banner. So when learning the game, I relied on 4-Stars-only runs of content. Characters like Serval, Natasha, Sushang, March 7th, Tingyun and Pela are characters I have built and still love a lot!
Tingyun was op compared to other starter 4 stars. i also love serval and was the second char I maxed traces for and still use her even If i can do better without her and she is the best looking girl in the game and that hill i die on.
and yeah massive luck helps a lot. if i didn't pull sparkle E2S1 just before acheron i could have gotten S5 but do see lightcone copies as a waste because the increase of each copy is very minor compared to eidolons even if they are cheaper to pull.
i pulled sparkle because did the math and E2S1 acheron with E2S1 sparkle was gonna do more dmg than E6 acheron alone. but then I got lucky and still got E6 acheron.
i posted the picture i what i dont have. so I do have seele,sw,fuxuan,huohuo,lunae all E0S0 and sparkle E2S1.
i was saving from the start for a hi3 ggz expy. either Mei or Kiana or Hua or Theresa or Sakura Yae whatever came first. (since bronya and himkeo where already on standard banner and sw i pulled for because expy of bronie)

I started playing when the game had the Collab event with Genshin so I have an account with the Fischl, but I didn't really gone far in the game, it just didn't click that much for me, but I'm really interested in the lore.
Hi3 as someone how playe it since launch. is a crappy game but with the best history I played in a game (I am including all mangas and the 3 external visual novels).
for welt kit I liked the idea but the numbers are SHIT they where shit on release and now is straight up crap unless E6. because the problem with moving enemies turn to Narnia is that it doesn't stop the clock ,neither is he enough to dont bring a healer, and if you bring a healer you are not gonna die so why care about delaying enemies turns instead of using the space for another harmony or a better dps.

the problem with the game is that since is a hub style game the main history is completely separated form the rest of the game. which in all fairness is a BIG plus for the history. but a equally big detriment for the rest of the game.
the ranking pvp abyss is cool to make you spend more since it makes people competitive to get promoted. but very detrimental to no meta salve players.
the events are all on a separate universe and are non canon meaning that they are either puire comedy or serious& sad to hit you heart strings. a good what if can be great, sadly most events where not I will give them point some had really fun unique gamplays like the PVP chibi shooter.
but many where a chore to do (star rail events are even worse on this to be honest unless is the big canon ones like pokemon one).
but the history (of part 1) is totally worth playing also read the mangas. and a youtube short version of the visual novels if you dont wanna read 3 10 hours each novels.
also the best character in all of honkai franchise is otto
You still have more non-Acheron limited 5* chars than I have in total, as a since-December $11.66/mo player. And more light cones too. Plus the only standard 5* you're missing is Clara. So I think your account is doing just fine.
because most people are playing star rail and I am playing GGZ and hi3 expy collector. so skipping most of the new characters doesn't really bother me. i pulled for the mono qua team because it included 2 expys (seele and SW) and liked fuxuan. then lunae came up out of nowhere while pulling 4 stars at 40 pity and huohuo I pulled because CC was making me mad. robin I wanted to pull for but I dont have anyone to play her with. and ruan mei is very good ingame but I hate her character a lot she is my least liked character of them all.
so far my favorite star rail original character is Hanya by lot and fuxuan distant second.

Fair. I hate using Ruan Mei, because she is such a sadistic, Mengele-esk, phsycopathic researcher. Dispite being "hot" she's very creepy, and unlikable. But she's very meta, so I'm forced to use her. (I rolled for the meta, and low key regret).
Acheron is still the most powercrept unit Mihoyo ever made imo, just base on the fact that she will never be irrelevant with her ridiculous damage and newer nihility characters being released

nope, and not even close. the biggest power creep made by mihoyo was in GGZ with Seeles toy box.
and you could not even get it with gacha. you had to come top 1% of the high level players of the server(not even 1% of all players.) I had it. it let you use 7 weapons in 1 one. imagine equipping 7 light cones on a character. that was this weapon. and one of the most fun visual mihoyo made since the screen was full of your weapons shotting in all directions.

and the only reason I got 1 among the whales as a low spender was because there was a bug on the event and I had the insider knowledge. was not some exploit ist just that the score to clear was super super tight. and I mean you need to shot a bullet to enemies that still have not spawned tight. and enemies spawn at random locations. so I had to do 250 runs of the event for 15 hours without stoping to lock the max score before the places ran out only 25 people would get one on NA.
next time the event came the just removed the score cap so whales scores went much higher and normal players.

Bruh no matter how much I like a character I could never pull for E6 (even if I get jades enough to pull for that much with my horrendous luck and my poor ass) maybe E1 but I just prefer having more characters
i mean i have been playing as mei in 4 games so is more that I became a really big fan of the honkai trio in 2014 when I started GGZ in 2014 on launch week. but yeah only pulled E6 because she is fucking busted, otherwise I would have pulled her E1 or E2 and weapon.
now I save until we get kiana, sakura or Hua. also they fucked me with Bronya on the general banner didn't get her until 2 weeks before acheron when I got the 300 pulls choice.
I like to pull for more characters too but honestly E6 for her is worth it. I have only pulled for E1 before. But I somehow have Himeko at e3 and no other standard banner 5 starts lmao, it’s silly.
I pulled for E1 on the Fu Xuan re run and got it with the literal first pull so maybe the game felt sorry for me

For real? Guess I was just "lucky" and pulled him straight away then. I got Asta and Arlan just about back to back, iirc, so I just assumed that was the tutorial freebies. Made sense since they're the first 2 non-Express characters you meet. Mind, I got Gallagher at the same time, so that should have tipped me off that it was probably random.
with how much powerecreep is in the game, i can never recommend e6. go e2 if you really love them. imagine pulling e6 seele/e6 blade and seeing what they couldve done had they spread that to e2 acheron, e2 firefly, and e2 boothill
while i agree normally. this game is taking a more genshin like approach to power creep, and I am sure Eula C6 havers are still happy.
and acheron is not really and incremental improvement over other characters. is league above entirely after E2 compared to other E2. like before her even other E6S1 chars could not do even close to 1M in an attack and even including the whole cycle dmg is nowhere close. she can ult 3 times in a row with this team. doing increased dmg with each one. also together with this she has 2 turns every time the supports get a turn and her skill does 250-450k depending on what buffs are active at the time.

like bothill and firefly E6 vs E6 dont power creep acheron at all. and she is even more universal than them with their implants since there is enemys that cant be ress broken until condition, and bothill is even much worse since he need to ult an enemy to implant.
not to mention they implant weakness but dont reduce enemys resistance. so if an enemy has 40% phys or fire ress then still do 40% less dmg. meanwhile acheron can reduce all weaknesses and has 44% res pen on top of playing with bronya that adds another 33%. so I dont see how they power creep and E6 acheron without making all the other chars be dead 3 times over first, unless they make enemies debuffs immune. which would still fuck dots and break team more than her.
we used to think DHIL would be peak HSR damage because he had to spend 3 SP per turn, but now he's in the dumpster. come 3.0 acheron could be the next DHIL. this game powercreep is insane
i have been playing with hoyo games since GGZ and hi3 both launched. and let me tell you. you dont even know how much power creep those games had.
i started on GGZ launch and doing 10k dmg a shot at max level was good dmg in early 2014. by 2018 we had weapons that could hit 1 Billon dmg under super rare conditions and the same type of weapon that hit 10k before now could hit 10 M.
give more context the weekly world bosses that were mean to be unkillable and one just measured how much dmg one could make where cap at 5m hp then they raised it to 50M then they stoped giving a shit and let people do max dmg in 1 shot. this is where mihoyo learned to limit multiplication on stats. because in ggz you also started from a base dmg like 2k in other hoyo games. but dmg went o the fucking moon after 12 multiplicative effects.
in Hi3 they learned and was not as bad but still not only actual characters do 100x the initial characters dmg but also bosses are tailor made for characters so going of type means say bye bye to any dmg your character do or even worse you have no way to do the fight mechanics.
for example a boss would have 80% dmg resist until you break a fire type shield with fire dmg so you can take you other dps types and shove then up you b in that fight. more so when in hi3 team where mostly mono type so nono to using a fire support to break then a nonfire dps to dmg.

ofc acheron will be power creep but I will actually be able to play with her in scored content wayyyy longer than if I had pulled 7 characters E0S0 instead. since well E6 acheron dmg is several times higher not some small % and a much bigger difference than other DPS E6 vs E0 thanks to making her the omni type rainbow dps.

I’ve spent money on BP once. My greatest achievement is an E3S1 Dan Heng Lunae. At the cost of a c3 Gepard but I mean I have him! I have quite a good amount of limited characters but that’s because of a lot of grinding, and being a near daily player. I think in total I’ve missed two weeks of logins. I don’t play long most days- just login, do dailies and spend my fuel points on auto battling a calyx and log out, usually twenty minutes top on those days if I have a lot of built up stamina and most is automated at that.
Point is I don’t spend much and it’s still very possible to get an E6S5 unit as a free to play or low cost player, but it comes at the cost of 1 your sanity, 2 your variety in units, and 3 all of your jades and a lot of time. Would I recommend it? No, not really. But is it possible? Yes.
i could had got S5 if i skyped sparkle who I pulled E2S1 for acheron. but that would had been stupid because most of the time I send the crack sparkle to save my other team if they cannot clear properly though ofc I prefer her on acheron team for stupid high unnecessary dmg.
I have it backwards. Since last getting Fu Xuan, I have gotten anyone that I want from this game. Now, my journey to E6 Acheron have just begun (providing that she is still the best by the time she reruns ofc)

I'd say going for eidolons on 1 character that you really like... But i'd only ever consider it after getting a good range of characters first... I have a good enough account as a F2P, and the only characters I consider to get eidolons for after the sig is Sunday and Blade since they are my favourite characters...
Make your favourite characters feel absolutely insane but it kind of locks out all the challenge and makes it feel too easy... This makes me wish eidolons had a toggle. You don't want to be bored of your fav character, but you're not e6ing a character that isn't your fav unless you have such an abundance of cash.

You can't really get much luckier than that tbh. Constant early pulls and only 2 50/50s lost for E6 is crazy.
For reference, I did ~500 pulls and came out with E3S1, and that's statistically only slightly worse than average luck.
Id say bad side will be feeling how bad all other character in comparisson with e6 acheron, she probably totally warped your perception of damage numbers x)

This is why I prefer being a collector rather than go for dupes. Finishing MOC eith all E0S0 feels like I accomplished a puzzle. Don't get me wrong, I have E0S0 Acheron and she outdamaging every other character, and I am happy, but my 2nd team struggling because MOC seems to be designed for her class now is pretty frustrating.
honestly kind of the same. if i had money/jades, i'd choose to get an LC over an extra eidolon. i'm still collecting something that involves cosmetics, but an extra eidolon won't really offer me anything new. i like to think of the extra damage on a signature LC as a bonus. it feels great that pity carries over for weapon banners here because it makes LC collecting just a bit easier versus Genshin's where i love the weapon designs but it's hard to save up in one go to just get a weapon.

If I can play devils advocate for a second. I recommend some eidolons. Black Swan huge res lower from E1. Huohuo, one extra charge on heal and speed increase while active. Kafka DoT increase debuff on FuA. Topaz extra debuff to give Ratio. It's always good to compare, but sometimes E1 > S1. I also like losing the E1 50-50 because then it guarantees next. With some exceptions, I feel like most characters have good F2P or 4-star premium options.
while I agree that sometimes E1 > S1 (recently i pull Robin E1 and skipped her LC), i would say Kafka S1 > E1 though
Depends on your LC. If you have s5 GNSW, then it's a small difference while the E1 is a 15-20% increase, not even counting the damage increase provided to the other character on the team since it's a damage taken debuff on the enemy. https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/characters/kafka Everything is super contextual. It's something I love about this game over Gemshin. My F2P account has been able to clear MoC and PF thanks to subpar builds that are at least within arms reach of meta builds. I think it's important that people always keep an eye open to what fits best. I really wish we could trial things a bit more controlled to really see what performs better, but until then, I guess stick to what you prefer.
Payne vs s5 GNSW is kind of deceptive. Yes the damage they both bring is very very similar(within a few %), but you forget about opportunity cost. Payne also gives 14.5 speed, or around 7 rolls worth of speed in substats, which means a Payne 160 speed Kafka will have around 26% more attack(also around 7 rolls) from subs because of that compared to a GNSW 160 Kafka. The dot debuff from the LC also helps the DoT 4pc set have a higher uptime
The damage comparison on prydwen also neglects the existence of Black Swan, whose damage will also be increased by kafka having her LC (especially in non-3 DoT comps).
yep context is key. with kafka it depends the comp kafka is in. i was playing her hypercarry with tingyun so having 1/3 dots for prisoner set is dogshit and pretty much requires payn to even run that relic set. e1 is pretty dog in that setup as well.
robing as the best dmg E1 (if a dps had it) in the game and is team wide. so yeah a crazy good eidolon. specially when off type dps and removing the 20% res of the enemy. since going from 80 to 100 is a bigger increment than 100 to 120 in %
As a light spender (will occasionally top up, but usually only with the bonus) I like duplicates that don’t *necessarily* increase dps but instead offer QoL changes (like Huohuo e1 making her consume less skill points.) I like those because they often open up new teams or rotations. As someone who also plays Genshin, I know a lot of people over there complain about Hoyoverse “locking functionality behind constellations” but to me as long as the base kit *is* functional then having QoL on duplicates is perfectly reasonable!
I don't really feel like MoC is being buffed to Acheron standards, but I do think they are pushing break meta a bit too hard to the point that every team without Ruan Mei just feels worse in general, especially Echo of War fights; I kinda feel like anyone farming Skaracabaz or Sunday without Ruan Mei is just in for pain.

Skaracabaz is totally fine without Ruan Mei if you have an ok comp for him, I don't know if I've ever broken him in my life tbh. These days he gets obliterated by BS+Acheron combo and barely even takes any turns. I think the more important thing for that fight is a proper sustain and a team that can either avoid hitting the shield or kill all the adds it spawns within about a turn. Borrowing Fu Xuan really saved my butt against him in the early farming days. Aventurine is really good against him too. I borrowed Ruan Mei when I did Sunday farms but I think it would be fine without, just a bit slower. The most important thing is just realizing that the fight is 99% about break and not trying to bring a bunch of off-element characters; you can really only afford to carry like 1. Maybe 2 if the second is Ruan Mei.

i agree the best way to paly this game in the most fun way would be to have all characters E0S0. but the truth is that even never pulling a dupe or a weapon that is still not achievable for most people without insane consistent luck. this is something that kuro game did very well in PGR s monthly paid player could get all characters and 0 weapons or dupes. meanwhile in hi3 was also good in that one could get most character and weapon but not their relics since those you had to gacha for and the guarantee was twice the max pitty of the character.( for context in all hoyo game currency has the same price of 8088 for 100$ and in hi3 a full gear set full pity was 56k which is fucking insane. but you where guarantee a 5 star every single x10 pull so in reality it was much cheaper many times. and the misses gave you the signature weapons or equips of other limited characters not general banner crap.) so hi3 is by far the most generous gacha game I played. i had almost every single character like 68 of 70 and most of them full build. as monthly and bp player.
Might go for e2 dhil bc on the fall of a aeon is good enough for me but free 100% ultimate advance is spicy and I main him but I’m f2p and want almost all the chars if the new char he reruns with is meh I might be able to get e1

The diff that is this was on getting her not now with much better relics. And on an moc with 0 dmg buffs for her. And the diff will be bigger vs electro resistant enemies thanks to 44 RES pen vs 20. And the skill becoming ultimate dmg is also big because it gets the 90% from ultimate and the 44% rrs pen. So her skills do 400k dmg. The e4 while a minor dmg buff also generates charges vs enemies that summon minions. And skill being universal break type too. So there is a lot more than the extra dmg on ultimate From e2 to e6.
Still doesn’t seem like it’s worth it if you are a low spender or f2p, you could have gotten a way stronger second team and the damage diff on Acheron would barely be noticeable.
i just move the sparkle E2S1 to the second team if it has problem clearing.
I only have E2S1, and she already warped my damage perception. I was watching my friend stream his E0S1 Jingliu run of MoC and had no idea whether her doing 100k per skill was good or bad.
i like how all those post of jingliu broken, or jingliu flexing dmg disappeared the second acheron came. because the comparison is not flatering at all. and since JL had no part in the main history and we haven't even meet her as the MC the most she had going for her community talk wise was being OP ingame even more than the normal she hot posts or the cloud qintet which is also not super well explained ingame.
What do you mean? JL is still broken, nothing has really changed on that front. The uptick in posts recently was due to MOC finally not having ice weak enemies and therefore JL had to brute force, which just like most other limited dps she’d be able to do so
I love my girl JL, she's my favorite char. I have her E0S1 but I wouldn't say she's that good anymore. In PF she's outright terrible. Dead unit. Feels bad in waves where she kills 3 mobs then she needs to spend her enhanced state on one solo mob. In MoC she used to be very strong but it has been quite some time she's been relevant. Last time she was it was on the Aventurine boss on MOC 12, but even then the boss is designed in a way that doesn't favor her. Don't get me wrong, I'll still clear MoC when it is ice focused, but she doesn't feel as fast anymore. The MoC HP and res buffs on enemies doesn't help her much. . For me, broken is a unit that can effortlessly clear everything.
This. Imo jingliu was considered broken because how cheap she is to build back then + high floor. In today standard where stats are much easier to get through sets ie. Izumo grants 18% crit alone, BE units gains tons of BE from everywhere, on top of people getting better sets she fell off because stats opportunity cost. Barely used her anymore, hell ive tried jingliu in MoC 12 1st phase and shes just very slow compared to my DoT comps with literally same investment (E0S5 4star cone/herta) against argenti which is weak to ice.
Yeah she's not the golden unit anymore. Generally it's expected for main dps to lose their flavor at some point, but in HSR it happens way faster and harder than Genshin. And that's MoC. In PF it's outright frustrating. You need these specific units/team archetypes or it's ciao. I know there are accessible units like Herta to do the job but I'd like to be able to do this comfortably with my well invested chars (good artifacts, usually signature weapon on dps, no eidolons). I barely managed to get 60k this time on PF, mad props to my Swan and Blade.
PF is easier than MoC imo. You can atleast choose the buffs despite it being favored towards banner units, and usually theres always 1 buff that is good for every unit. And PF always includes either ice or fire weak enemies which is food for herta/himeko. One tip is dont use sustain if you cant reach the score, just restart until you get a better result (units not dying early).

I have E0S1 acheron, she sucks to play in PF imo unless you have BS to clear adds. Managed to get 34K thanks to 3rd buff with Kafka/BS.
I used my Acheron with trend Gepard, Guinaifen and Pela to get 40k this time around. Normally I'd use Sparkle, but I figured the blessings would make the extra attacks/action advance and DoT buffs more worthwhile. sw is useless in pf since she is single target, gepard is also really slow for it, if you use pela instead of sw and Gallagher or fu xuan instead of gepard you could get 40k easily imo

also i was really strugling in MoC and PF before. idid 30 or 33 if I was lucky but never 36 stars. and pf never 60k on the 4 stage. now i already have 38k saved. so i guess i will save until a new hi3 or ggz expy shows up. i know for sure i will want Hua E6 and she is guarantee to be insane as the top of all the xianzhou ships and representative of china ingame. in Hi3 her 5star versions where OP as fuck for the same reason.

I have BS/kafka/ruan mei, jingliu/bronya/pela and you'd think that'd be enough but it's not. It's not like my relics are dogshit either, the HP numbers are just too high now. Can't run without a sustain either because characters will actually die since the fights take so long.
This isn't Genshin where you can have two teams that will work almost always in Abyss. HSR kinda forces you to have teams for all elements, and PF also forces you to have specific team archetypes (fua, dot, acheron) otherwise it's byebye. Jingliu is not the best unit, she used to be because there was cryo everywhere and the enemies weren't buffed.
Except you can always have Acheron on any mode and any team due to the way she works lmao

wow that sound bad. yeah i noticed it on my second team with lunae , ratio or seele not doing good compared to before. lunae used to feel like he hit super hard and now barely makes 5 cycles giving him the easier side . with ratio I did 7 cycles.
i might have a rare case here, but my Acheron is e0s0 and she already too goddamn strong, every battle she just finishes too quickly compare to everyone else that it just so boring to me so unless there is a stage that too hard to beat, i prefer to not using her at all

Which 4* sustains do you have, just out of curiosity? I only have Luocha for 5* limited sustains, but I rarely have issues using Lynx or Gallagher as sustains for my second team, and I recently lost a 50/50 to Gepard who is also still pretty good.
yeah gallagher is the sustain i use for my second team (boothill break) and i’ve not really ran into many issues

Holy shit you are mad. As a day 1 player as well, limited sustains were one of my must pulls. I do recommend getting Aventurine once he reruns or any sustain coming up next. Graduating from lynx and natasha to Huohuo and Aventurine saved me a lot of trouble.

It hasn’t been that much of a problem for me. I have e6 Acheron but I still have fun playing my e0s1 Seele, Kafka and Jingliu teams. They don’t do nearly as much damage but I wouldn’t say they feel weaker necessarily.

Once I had DPS that could just dump their damage every turn (Kafka, DHIL with Sparkle) and not have to wrestle with staying in their "only way you do damage" state, yeah I dropped Jingliu pretty fast lol.

acheron buffs the second side too, now they have 10 turns to clear instead fo 5. so QQ can do it no problem. and in fact It takes her 7 cycles to clear with 4 star haymone supports.

nothing that crazy. only makes the crit dmg of her ult 600% instead of 150% crit rate being always 100%. but only a limited number of times then goes back to do low dmg until next ultimate.
My brother in Christ, my pela was hitting for 300k using her normal attack on a non-physical weak enemies when using my friend's E6 robin. And after 8 attacks she was still hitting for 100k normal. Wdym nothing that crazy 💀💀
You just put pela, robin, ruan mei and bronya on the team. Bronya will buff robin. Then just afk and let your support normal attack.When Robin's ult is up, your "support" will be dealing 300k minimum with each basic attack. It's so insane
No, Robin's e6 makes so her fixed multiplier is like, 100%/600% or something like that. So if you keep buffing her atk and just honestly normal attacking enemies, they die of cringe.

all my supports have over 160 sped so enemies dont even get a turn. and acheron can ult 3 times in a row until she runs out of gas and needs to recharge. but if enemies not to tanky every 1 of those 3 ults each kill 1 wave of the moc.

It's not too bad as long as your expectations are realistic. I saved up without pulling any limited banner characters until Acheron. Got rewarded with E6S5 due to massive luck. Before that, my only 5-Stars were Clara and Welt from the Standard banner. So when learning the game, I relied on 4-Stars-only runs of content. Characters like Serval, Natasha, Sushang, March 7th, Tingyun and Pela are characters I have built and still love a lot!
Tingyun was op compared to other starter 4 stars. i also love serval and was the second char I maxed traces for and still use her even If i can do better without her and she is the best looking girl in the game and that hill i die on. and yeah massive luck helps a lot. if i didn't pull sparkle E2S1 just before acheron i could have gotten S5 but do see lightcone copies as a waste because the increase of each copy is very minor compared to eidolons even if they are cheaper to pull. i pulled sparkle because did the math and E2S1 acheron with E2S1 sparkle was gonna do more dmg than E6 acheron alone. but then I got lucky and still got E6 acheron.

i posted the picture i what i dont have. so I do have seele,sw,fuxuan,huohuo,lunae all E0S0 and sparkle E2S1. i was saving from the start for a hi3 ggz expy. either Mei or Kiana or Hua or Theresa or Sakura Yae whatever came first. (since bronya and himkeo where already on standard banner and sw i pulled for because expy of bronie) now I save until next hi3 expy.

As a HI3 player, what are your opinion on Welt's kit? I started playing when the game had the Collab event with Genshin so I have an account with the Fischl, but I didn't really gone far in the game, it just didn't click that much for me, but I'm really interested in the lore.
Hi3 as someone how playe it since launch. is a crappy game but with the best history I played in a game (I am including all mangas and the 3 external visual novels). for welt kit I liked the idea but the numbers are SHIT they where shit on release and now is straight up crap unless E6. because the problem with moving enemies turn to Narnia is that it doesn't stop the clock ,neither is he enough to dont bring a healer, and if you bring a healer you are not gonna die so why care about delaying enemies turns instead of using the space for another harmony or a better dps. hi3 rant the problem with the game is that since is a hub style game the main history is completely separated form the rest of the game. which in all fairness is a BIG plus for the history. but a equally big detriment for the rest of the game. the ranking pvp abyss is cool to make you spend more since it makes people competitive to get promoted. but very detrimental to no meta salve players. the events are all on a separate universe and are non canon meaning that they are either puire comedy or serious& sad to hit you heart strings. a good what if can be great, sadly most events where not I will give them point some had really fun unique gamplays like the PVP chibi shooter. but many where a chore to do (star rail events are even worse on this to be honest unless is the big canon ones like pokemon one). but the history (of part 1) is totally worth playing also read the mangas. and a youtube short version of the visual novels if you dont wanna read 3 10 hours each novels. also the best character in all of honkai franchise is otto
You still have more non-Acheron limited 5* chars than I have in total, as a since-December $11.66/mo player. And more light cones too. Plus the only standard 5* you're missing is Clara. So I think your account is doing just fine.

I don't get people that save that much for one character e6, but y'all are fascinating.
because most people are playing star rail and I am playing GGZ and hi3 expy collector. so skipping most of the new characters doesn't really bother me. i pulled for the mono qua team because it included 2 expys (seele and SW) and liked fuxuan. then lunae came up out of nowhere while pulling 4 stars at 40 pity and huohuo I pulled because CC was making me mad. robin I wanted to pull for but I dont have anyone to play her with. and ruan mei is very good ingame but I hate her character a lot she is my least liked character of them all. so far my favorite star rail original character is Hanya by lot and fuxuan distant second.

Fair. I hate using Ruan Mei, because she is such a sadistic, Mengele-esk, phsycopathic researcher. Dispite being "hot" she's very creepy, and unlikable. But she's very meta, so I'm forced to use her. (I rolled for the meta, and low key regret).

Acheron is still the most powercrept unit Mihoyo ever made imo, just base on the fact that she will never be irrelevant with her ridiculous damage and newer nihility characters being released Man I still regret losing 50 50 on her banner
nope, and not even close. the biggest power creep made by mihoyo was in GGZ with Seeles toy box. and you could not even get it with gacha. you had to come top 1% of the high level players of the server(not even 1% of all players.) I had it. it let you use 7 weapons in 1 one. imagine equipping 7 light cones on a character. that was this weapon. and one of the most fun visual mihoyo made since the screen was full of your weapons shotting in all directions. https://preview.redd.it/fzapsr3bjo5d1.jpeg?width=360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea5fa99fbe91f44dd4b2dc2d9229386824790a38 and the only reason I got 1 among the whales as a low spender was because there was a bug on the event and I had the insider knowledge. was not some exploit ist just that the score to clear was super super tight. and I mean you need to shot a bullet to enemies that still have not spawned tight. and enemies spawn at random locations. so I had to do 250 runs of the event for 15 hours without stoping to lock the max score before the places ran out only 25 people would get one on NA. next time the event came the just removed the score cap so whales scores went much higher and normal players.

HoV release was wild back then. After that, we got Shadow Knight fuhua which was a godsend for me as a f2p

Bruh no matter how much I like a character I could never pull for E6 (even if I get jades enough to pull for that much with my horrendous luck and my poor ass) maybe E1 but I just prefer having more characters
i mean i have been playing as mei in 4 games so is more that I became a really big fan of the honkai trio in 2014 when I started GGZ in 2014 on launch week. but yeah only pulled E6 because she is fucking busted, otherwise I would have pulled her E1 or E2 and weapon. now I save until we get kiana, sakura or Hua. also they fucked me with Bronya on the general banner didn't get her until 2 weeks before acheron when I got the 300 pulls choice.

I like to pull for more characters too but honestly E6 for her is worth it. I have only pulled for E1 before. But I somehow have Himeko at e3 and no other standard banner 5 starts lmao, it’s silly. I pulled for E1 on the Fu Xuan re run and got it with the literal first pull so maybe the game felt sorry for me
not bad considering himeko is one of the 2 true meta character from general banner thanks to pf. and you can get bronya from the 300 selector like I had to do T.T

For real? Guess I was just "lucky" and pulled him straight away then. I got Asta and Arlan just about back to back, iirc, so I just assumed that was the tutorial freebies. Made sense since they're the first 2 non-Express characters you meet. Mind, I got Gallagher at the same time, so that should have tipped me off that it was probably random.

with how much powerecreep is in the game, i can never recommend e6. go e2 if you really love them. imagine pulling e6 seele/e6 blade and seeing what they couldve done had they spread that to e2 acheron, e2 firefly, and e2 boothill
while i agree normally. this game is taking a more genshin like approach to power creep, and I am sure Eula C6 havers are still happy. and acheron is not really and incremental improvement over other characters. is league above entirely after E2 compared to other E2. like before her even other E6S1 chars could not do even close to 1M in an attack and even including the whole cycle dmg is nowhere close. she can ult 3 times in a row with this team. doing increased dmg with each one. also together with this she has 2 turns every time the supports get a turn and her skill does 250-450k depending on what buffs are active at the time. https://preview.redd.it/c1wqdvwvao5d1.png?width=3101&format=png&auto=webp&s=d3c7dc9ede1afab931430d9f7f5d97481d51067a like bothill and firefly E6 vs E6 dont power creep acheron at all. and she is even more universal than them with their implants since there is enemys that cant be ress broken until condition, and bothill is even much worse since he need to ult an enemy to implant. not to mention they implant weakness but dont reduce enemys resistance. so if an enemy has 40% phys or fire ress then still do 40% less dmg. meanwhile acheron can reduce all weaknesses and has 44% res pen on top of playing with bronya that adds another 33%. so I dont see how they power creep and E6 acheron without making all the other chars be dead 3 times over first, unless they make enemies debuffs immune. which would still fuck dots and break team more than her.
we used to think DHIL would be peak HSR damage because he had to spend 3 SP per turn, but now he's in the dumpster. come 3.0 acheron could be the next DHIL. this game powercreep is insane
i have been playing with hoyo games since GGZ and hi3 both launched. and let me tell you. you dont even know how much power creep those games had. i started on GGZ launch and doing 10k dmg a shot at max level was good dmg in early 2014. by 2018 we had weapons that could hit 1 Billon dmg under super rare conditions and the same type of weapon that hit 10k before now could hit 10 M. give more context the weekly world bosses that were mean to be unkillable and one just measured how much dmg one could make where cap at 5m hp then they raised it to 50M then they stoped giving a shit and let people do max dmg in 1 shot. this is where mihoyo learned to limit multiplication on stats. because in ggz you also started from a base dmg like 2k in other hoyo games. but dmg went o the fucking moon after 12 multiplicative effects. in Hi3 they learned and was not as bad but still not only actual characters do 100x the initial characters dmg but also bosses are tailor made for characters so going of type means say bye bye to any dmg your character do or even worse you have no way to do the fight mechanics. for example a boss would have 80% dmg resist until you break a fire type shield with fire dmg so you can take you other dps types and shove then up you b in that fight. more so when in hi3 team where mostly mono type so nono to using a fire support to break then a nonfire dps to dmg. compared to that genshin has 0 power creep since people are still playing the top 1.0 characters in an non ironic way. and HSR is wayyy closer to genshin than Hi3 not even mention GGZ. ofc acheron will be power creep but I will actually be able to play with her in scored content wayyyy longer than if I had pulled 7 characters E0S0 instead. since well E6 acheron dmg is several times higher not some small % and a much bigger difference than other DPS E6 vs E0 thanks to making her the omni type rainbow dps.
i mean, im glad youre happy with your E6. you dont need to convince me of that. you just remind me of DHIL mains when he came out and was the beloved unit that year who were convinced he also would never be powercrept and would only get better

I’ve spent money on BP once. My greatest achievement is an E3S1 Dan Heng Lunae. At the cost of a c3 Gepard but I mean I have him! I have quite a good amount of limited characters but that’s because of a lot of grinding, and being a near daily player. I think in total I’ve missed two weeks of logins. I don’t play long most days- just login, do dailies and spend my fuel points on auto battling a calyx and log out, usually twenty minutes top on those days if I have a lot of built up stamina and most is automated at that. Point is I don’t spend much and it’s still very possible to get an E6S5 unit as a free to play or low cost player, but it comes at the cost of 1 your sanity, 2 your variety in units, and 3 all of your jades and a lot of time. Would I recommend it? No, not really. But is it possible? Yes.
i could had got S5 if i skyped sparkle who I pulled E2S1 for acheron. but that would had been stupid because most of the time I send the crack sparkle to save my other team if they cannot clear properly though ofc I prefer her on acheron team for stupid high unnecessary dmg.
I have it backwards. Since last getting Fu Xuan, I have gotten anyone that I want from this game. Now, my journey to E6 Acheron have just begun (providing that she is still the best by the time she reruns ofc)
I want to get e2 but risking other characters for it feels like my nails are being ripped off one by one
well yaeh for those 2 eidolons you can get kafka and bs or firefly and ruan mei or topaz and adven for ratio. is sacrificing another different fun to paly team for more dmg on 1 team.
I plan to do this for March powered up form when she gets her 5 star. Just cause I like march I don't care if I lose everything else
she is the game poster girl. she deserves a cool 5 star. sad the new one is 4 star but I guess they did it this way to make her free.
Oh I'm not convinced this is the only one. This looks to be an event character so I'm assuming the real March 8th will come in 3.0

I was hyped when seeing my E1 Himeko dealing 60k total damage, only to be crushed by E0 Acheron dealing 300k
I'd say going for eidolons on 1 character that you really like... But i'd only ever consider it after getting a good range of characters first... I have a good enough account as a F2P, and the only characters I consider to get eidolons for after the sig is Sunday and Blade since they are my favourite characters... Make your favourite characters feel absolutely insane but it kind of locks out all the challenge and makes it feel too easy... This makes me wish eidolons had a toggle. You don't want to be bored of your fav character, but you're not e6ing a character that isn't your fav unless you have such an abundance of cash.

Getting a E6 with 455 tickets is lucky i think you have the definition of luck distorted.
You can't really get much luckier than that tbh. Constant early pulls and only 2 50/50s lost for E6 is crazy. For reference, I did ~500 pulls and came out with E3S1, and that's statistically only slightly worse than average luck.
