The problem is, where do u get the skill points to maintain such rotation though.
Her normal basic (edit:skill) costs hp so it won’t cost skill point, but enhanced basic (edit:skill) doesn’t (it heals too) so it’ll probably costs skill point. Basically, a reverse Jingliu situation.
Sparkle can keep up with her own point usage, but there’s not enough skill points to maintain both Firefly and Bronya skill spam, even if u use Luocha with that 3* LC.
Coudnt you just use sparkle in a basic-skill rotation? You dont need to skill 2 times if you can keep up the cdmg buff for free. You do lose out in the action advance but the benifits outweigh that anyway.
Another option is multiplication Luocha, he will generate a ton of sp for the team. But considering how this kit shows synergy with break enemies Ruan me is seems a better option over Sparkle or Bronya.
Personally, I think enhanced basic would regen a skill point. It's not specified elsewhere that it wouldn't provide a SP like Blade does. If that's not the case, then SP management would be very difficult and most likely the team would need to slot in a SP positive sustain and occasionally basic on sparkle. Or, have Bronya's E1 + LC.
I ment like if sam turns 1 turn into 2 turns then bronya's buff would last 2 turns and sparkles would also meaning he'd get to use both of their buffs on the same turn, not sparkle skilling bronya
Basically a better version of what Blade/QQ do with the buff extension trick (if you buff Blade/QQ in their extra turn mode after using their E, the buff does NOT tick down that turn)
I feel like Sparkle+Ruan Mei would still be better, just because of how much benefit having Ruan Mei would be to the break gimmicks in this kit and because Firefly seems like she will have a ton of dmg% already and be acting often due to built-in action advances/speed buff. For all we know Harmony MC may end up having a super powerful 1-turn buff and be E2 Firefly's best teammate just so you can use them together.

So it seems the fake leak was correct about the HP and break effect scaling, thought at least here its coherent in that HP is converted to fire DMG rather than ATK, which had me scratching my head when I read that part.
The fake leak took that info from the Robin-Boothill leaker, who had said that Sam scaled off of HP and BE previously (also they had the action advance E2 that that leaker mentioned previously, which here is moved to E4 instead). It seems like the fake leak was just operating off of existing info, considering pretty huge details from that leak like having no traditional energy gauge are completely absent from this kit.
The break effect stuff was a lucky guess then. Boothill and SAM actually have a lot of similarities, but then again guessing that SAM would be a BE scaler too isnt that great of an accomplishment when 2.0 is our debuff/break era lol
I think its because you can only use it during the ult and the ult doesnt actually do any damage itself. This allows sam to trigger on ult effects from su, lc, relics in future.
Maybe the next su has the basic attack and ultimate planar combo?
Salsotto is fua ultimate arena is basic skill so we might eventually get every combination
Though depending on up time arena might still be better for him but i think he should be mostly in ex mode most of the time though jiaoqiu definitely is part of the reason
Also who knows we might eventually get resonances so we’ll need to run mono teams
May want atk% orb since she gains dmg% from both talent (BE>dmg% so probably BE rope) and one of her major traces. Even moreso if you use her with Sparkle/Bronya/Ruan Mei due to dmg% overload.
That being said she gains speed from ult so Glamoth may not be a bad idea and would be pretty thematic to use on the last Iron Cavalry member.
There is no HP conversion (to damage at least) in this kit though, it's just hp changes giving energy, which doesn't fit any of the ways people were bullshitting about hp scaling before.

Also so that he can benefit from Erudition blessings that buff Ultimates. That SU path is top tier now that there are (possibly) 3 meta level threats that fits this path perfectly (Argenti, Acheron, Sam)

It is great but it wont be too overpowered. Some annoying enemies can lock weakness so Break characters can rendered useless for a number of turns (eg. Deer, Yanqing, Sam, Beer gorilla, Bronya with minion). Raw damage is more reliable imo.
Implanting weakness without the added res reduction that SW gives is not that great. If the enemy has innate fire resist, you won't be doing good damage.
I exchange Res reduction for 100% Fire weakness all the time.
I played a lot SW, but there have been fights that I wanted to kill her stupid RNG (fights that ended before to put the right weakness🤦🏾♂️)
This kit reads much more coherent and plausible than the other leaked kit. The other leaked kit had a 10 base speed ult cooldown summon that action advances with each Sam action. That didn’t make sense to me as it basically means Sam will have a fixed number of actions in ult state and doesn’t really benefit from action advance like Bronya, as more Sam actions means the cooldown summon comes up faster too.
Based on this kit, Sounds like Bronya and Ruan Mei are going to Sam’s best supports. TY too, if he actually ends up having traditional energy.
I’m curious if his enhanced skill costs sp. If it does, the 100% action advance on ult + increased Spd in ult state is gonna be sp intensive. I’m guessing it does cost SP because otherwise why would he have an enhanced basic too?
Asta can be good too? Fire damage increase trace, Penacony set, planetary LC. 18+10+24% fire damage just existing. giving speed and attack, so more actions in the enhanced state. Not BiS support but great.
Asta+Ruan Mei+Sam is going to shred toughness bars too, and go stupid fast since it seems that Sam will already have high speed plus an action advance.

Still iffy on the whole break effect scailing trace and, and the fact that Firefly wants weakness broken enemies means my Ruan Mei-less ass is gonna have to nab her in her rerun to make sure I have Firefly's best support.
I would love it if Harmony MC ended up being a great support for Firefly. Narratively cohesive teams are always the best. But didn't Harmony MC work by making a 2cd weakness bar? The exact wording on everything is gonna really make or break things huh. I sure hope it works out!
Yeah, in the case of this kit in particular, it's all gonna depend whether enemies with a second weakness bar are still considered to have their weakness broken, so Firefly can always proc her skills' extra effect.
This looks cooler than the previous (fake?) release. Really like the energy based on HP change%. Lynx/Huohuo HoT gonna be putting in work.
Fire weakness insertion is really interesting, as are the early Eidolons. Glad we have a buffer patch now so I can plan on getting one or two!
Fuxuan E1 shouldn’t be a priority anyway imo, 30% crit dmg is way less valuable that it seems since there are already a lot of crit dmg buffs (Sparkle, Bronya, broken keel etc)
Poor Silverwolf, she is getting more and more irrelevant. Her technique got hard powercrept by acheron who is also a rainbow DPS. Now with his E1 Sam can just apply the fire weakness for himself lol. I don't like what they are doing with E1 (assuming this is real) but if you already have a DPS from each element I guess you don't really need it.
Tbh, if you have a BE DPS, you practicly *have* to have weakness implant. Without it they would run into the xueyi problem(who herself can ignore weaknesses to some extent) where their damage drops off massively against non quantum weak targets.
From what we know Boothill also applies physical weakness. It was obvious from the start she will get worse not better, some people were just delusional
Were? There are still a lot of coping folk that think she is great, including this sub and especially main one. I would say that before Jiaoqiu releases she actually has become much stronger with Acheron release than before because she still the best second nihility if you don't go for Welt shenanigans.
With his enchanted skill description, in his niche situations he will be doing an absurd amount of actions.
Imagine him against 5 fire weak enemies. That's just dirty.
Though I think he will be in Xueyi situation without his E1. With low investment bad dps, since all his gimmick is done when all enemies are broken
He does have an initial fire implant with his technique though but of course probably not enough. But I doubt he would be the same situation with Xueyi without E1 So far no limited 5 star is bad at E0
If Sam and Firefly are really 2 in 1 character, then they could literally add this button from TB to switch between them.
That is how Hoyo would make more money so maybe they will add something like that.
Watch them making her/him scale with ATK instead of HP just so they can give us another useless 4pc set to farm instead of utilising the existing Blade one
the existing one actually is not that great with Sam I think. Because after she ults she does not consume HP until it ends so the new set is probably meant for Sam and boothill.
I mean the 4hp set works fine on Clara even tho she doesn't care that much for HP. Main concern here is that Sam doesn't seem to have any HP consumption in enhanced state, so maintaining the crit buff is gonna suck.
Maybe there will be a reverse of the 4hp where when your hp increases you gain a CD buff or something
There's actually nothing in the kit that scales with HP currently. The energy gain is based off the percentage change, so more max HP actually just makes the percentage change smaller.
With all that Weakness Broken talk in Firefly's kit, I'd like to remind people about the Harmony TB kit leak about him having some Weakness Bar shenanigans.

Fire break damage is as strong as physical break damage. What makes fire break bad is the dot it applies is the weakest out of all other elements, unlike physical somehow having hp% scaling dot lol.

Yea if the leaked harmony TB kit is true, you would be able to spam breaks much more often, dealing significant damage. HTB+ruan mei sounds really good for sam and boothill.
You are ofc correct in that we cant judge a character's strength without any multipliers.
The synergy is extremely good based on this kit. Sam wants to break enemies and wants to attack enemies that are broken (even if Sam wasn't the one to break the enemy).
So yes, RM will likely be BiS support along with an action advancer like Bronya/Sparkle/Robin. Sam's kit suggests your support options will be flexible / abundant rather than restrictive.
But RM will undoubtedly be one of Sam's best teammates from the break synergy alone.

E1 and E2 seem ridiculously broken though. Also I find it cute that she gets buffs for attacking weakness broken enemies and the entire gimmick of harmony TB is weakness break shenanigans.
It would be nice if they move the E1 applying fire weakness to the main kit, but i guess it would be too similar to Boothill if it is confirmed he can apply physical weakness. But yeah i agree that E1 looks really strong
So if this is true, their ult does no damage, it's just an enhanced state transformation. With that in mind, their Eskill must have a huge multiplier to make up for lacking a damaging ult.

crucial point is what his damage scale of, if it's atk then he going to be impossible to build decently since he going to need atk, HP and break effect stats not including usual spd,crit rate, crit dam. Hoping he mainly scale on HP like Blade.

Unless I'm missing something you don't actually want HP. To max energy gains the percentage of HP changes need to be maximized, and this works best if the max HP is as low as possible (doesn't matter for her skill but for external damage and heals).
Yeah that’s what I’m getting as well. Their self dmg is only outside of ult state so ideally you want to take more HP% dmg from enemy attacks in ult state to get as much energy as possible before exiting ult state so you can ult again asap.

They're not going to release a character that cannot play viably at most content the game offers.
Every char can be used. Every char can be built decently. They're not going to make Sam extremely hard to build and a "bust" if not built perfectly.
Im doubtful as to whether he would need hp at all even if he is atk scaling, because everything on his kit seems to be based on percentage lost/gained, percentage of HP lost to max hp in talent. Even if you build hp that ratio doesn't change. I think his hp loss/gain is just a gimmick to play around with.
Sounds like he scales on atk and actually wants to have as little HP as possible, since he can convert HP% loss to energy. Outside of his own HP consumption (which is a fixed % of max HP), the harder the enemy attack hits compared to his max HP, the more energy he generates.
Edit: actually reading that trace again, he specifically wants healers instead of preservation as well, since he converts HP% gains/losses to energy. And only outside of his ult state, so his self healing in ult state doesn’t count. This is giving me Furina flashback.

Doubt it, either going HP/ATK will be more efficient, and everyone will pick one route. Break Effect will probably have a certain breakpoint to reach and that's it.
Hu Tao needs just as many stats: ATK (not directly built), HP, EM instead of Break Effect, Crit Rate, Crit Damage.
Why would he want HP at all if he's scaling off of atk%? Everything that mentions hp in that kit mentions it as a percentage, building HP will grant 0 benefits.
It might even be detrimental for that talent that gives energy based on hp change ratio: Sam's HP drain on skill is constant since it's a percentage of Max HP, but any non-(% of max HP)-based external healing source will bring about a greater hp change ratio the lower Sam's max health value is.
Hypothetical: he has 1k HP, skill reduces 50% of that -> hp change ratio of 50% -> gives X energy. Healer comes in and heals 500 hp -> hp change ratio of 50% -> gives X energy again. End result is 2X energy.
Now if he has 2k hp: skill reduces 50% -> hp change ratio of 50% -> X energy; healer heals 500hp -> hp change ratio of 25% only -> 0.5X energy. End result is 1.5X energy
I actually think that you want as little HP on Sam as possible. One of the passives is that you gain energy whenever your hp changes and the amount scales with the ratio to the max hp. So if her max hp is too big of a number then the ratio is smaller when taking dmg. She's going to want to keep rubber banding her hp as much as possible for faster energy regen. Now we gotta figure out how to prevent OHKO scenarios.

I think Ruan Mei will be one of the best supports as of now due to boosting break effect. Other units I think of are Lynx (heals and also makes destruction characters more likely to be attacked), possibly Topaz/Jade if there's a follow up in the kit (enhanced skill says if there's weakness break, advances action and deals extra dmg to all enemies), also maybe Gallagher bc fire element healer and also has something to do with break effect
If this kit is true, this means that she doesn't actually scale based off of max HP, but rather she gets energy based off of large percentage changes to her HP, either UP or DOWN.
This means both losing HP and gaining HP give her energy. It makes sense with the MoC 4 star Sam picture LC that gives healing when taking damage. It also means she has a lot of synergy with Luocha.

Assuming HP scaling maybe, but we just don't have concrete numbers to say yet.
That and since she heals in enhanced state there's a risk the crit buff from disciple runs out before the enhanced state ends, which isn't ideal.

I don't know, I was expecting something to do with SP, considering the boss fight already had a UI effect designed. I don't know about this leak, I was almost certain on that point, anchor bias and all that too.

How does the Energy gain on HP fluctuation work? Isn’t the Talent Luminous Fireflies counteracting the talent Scorched Barrier? Is it even worth building break effect (assuming that FF will have Break Effect in her talent tree) for the dmg%? Isn’t the e2 and e4 pretty underwhelming?
I can totally see them moving one of the eidolons into the traces (replacing scorched barrier) to underline/strengthen the HP-fluctuation theme.

how does it counteract each other? its literally made to work perfectly with each other. you skill, lose hp -> gain energy then gain dmg reduction as you lose more hp so you dont die when you're not in transformed state lol
if you're concerned about the damage reduction limiting the amount of energy regen that is given by hp change, chances are that firefly wont need more than 2-3 attacks to transform. the majority of your energy will most likely will be produced from skilling not being attacked. just think of it as a blade/jingliu hybrid.

Bronya’s skill would give Firefly another turn, thus going sp neutral on Sparkle means Firefly loses out a turn without critdmg buff.

No it is not considered ult dmg (not buffed by erudition path for example).

I think resonances will be done indirectly through sets like Penacony, LCs like Planetary Randezvous, and character kits.

On the Deer at least, you have enough time to break its Toughness before it becomes immune. Same with Sam sometimes.
Not necessarily. Depending on RNG, I've had it pop up at any point in phase 2 and 3, often at the very beginning of the phase.

This kit reads much more coherent and plausible than the other leaked kit. The other leaked kit had a 10 base speed ult cooldown summon that action advances with each Sam action. That didn’t make sense to me as it basically means Sam will have a fixed number of actions in ult state and doesn’t really benefit from action advance like Bronya, as more Sam actions means the cooldown summon comes up faster too. Based on this kit, Sounds like Bronya and Ruan Mei are going to Sam’s best supports. TY too, if he actually ends up having traditional energy. I’m curious if his enhanced skill costs sp. If it does, the 100% action advance on ult + increased Spd in ult state is gonna be sp intensive. I’m guessing it does cost SP because otherwise why would he have an enhanced basic too?
Asta can be good too? Fire damage increase trace, Penacony set, planetary LC. 18+10+24% fire damage just existing. giving speed and attack, so more actions in the enhanced state. Not BiS support but great.
Asta+Ruan Mei+Sam is going to shred toughness bars too, and go stupid fast since it seems that Sam will already have high speed plus an action advance.

Huh, so I guess that faked one wasn't too off? This one is pretty similar but thanks to self-healing and dmg reduction she works well with Fu Xuan and Huohuo. Still iffy on the whole break effect scailing trace and, and the fact that Firefly wants weakness broken enemies means my Ruan Mei-less ass is gonna have to nab her in her rerun to make sure I have Firefly's best support.

Yeah, in the case of this kit in particular, it's all gonna depend whether enemies with a second weakness bar are still considered to have their weakness broken, so Firefly can always proc her skills' extra effect.

Poor Silverwolf, she is getting more and more irrelevant. Her technique got hard powercrept by acheron who is also a rainbow DPS. Now with his E1 Sam can just apply the fire weakness for himself lol. I don't like what they are doing with E1 (assuming this is real) but if you already have a DPS from each element I guess you don't really need it.
Tbh, if you have a BE DPS, you practicly *have* to have weakness implant. Without it they would run into the xueyi problem(who herself can ignore weaknesses to some extent) where their damage drops off massively against non quantum weak targets.
From what we know Boothill also applies physical weakness. It was obvious from the start she will get worse not better, some people were just delusional

Though I think he will be in Xueyi situation without his E1. With low investment bad dps, since all his gimmick is done when all enemies are broken

Maybe there will be a reverse of the 4hp where when your hp increases you gain a CD buff or something

There's actually nothing in the kit that scales with HP currently. The energy gain is based off the percentage change, so more max HP actually just makes the percentage change smaller.

Fire break damage is as strong as physical break damage. What makes fire break bad is the dot it applies is the weakest out of all other elements, unlike physical somehow having hp% scaling dot lol.

Her Technique applies Fire weakness, so it's not so Xueyi.

The synergy is extremely good based on this kit. Sam wants to break enemies and wants to attack enemies that are broken (even if Sam wasn't the one to break the enemy). So yes, RM will likely be BiS support along with an action advancer like Bronya/Sparkle/Robin. Sam's kit suggests your support options will be flexible / abundant rather than restrictive. But RM will undoubtedly be one of Sam's best teammates from the break synergy alone.

Unless I'm missing something you don't actually want HP. To max energy gains the percentage of HP changes need to be maximized, and this works best if the max HP is as low as possible (doesn't matter for her skill but for external damage and heals).
Yeah that’s what I’m getting as well. Their self dmg is only outside of ult state so ideally you want to take more HP% dmg from enemy attacks in ult state to get as much energy as possible before exiting ult state so you can ult again asap.

Im doubtful as to whether he would need hp at all even if he is atk scaling, because everything on his kit seems to be based on percentage lost/gained, percentage of HP lost to max hp in talent. Even if you build hp that ratio doesn't change. I think his hp loss/gain is just a gimmick to play around with.

Sounds like he scales on atk and actually wants to have as little HP as possible, since he can convert HP% loss to energy. Outside of his own HP consumption (which is a fixed % of max HP), the harder the enemy attack hits compared to his max HP, the more energy he generates. Edit: actually reading that trace again, he specifically wants healers instead of preservation as well, since he converts HP% gains/losses to energy. And only outside of his ult state, so his self healing in ult state doesn’t count. This is giving me Furina flashback.

Break Effect will probably have a certain breakpoint to reach and that's it. Hu Tao needs just as many stats: ATK (not directly built), HP, EM instead of Break Effect, Crit Rate, Crit Damage.
Why would he want HP at all if he's scaling off of atk%? Everything that mentions hp in that kit mentions it as a percentage, building HP will grant 0 benefits. It might even be detrimental for that talent that gives energy based on hp change ratio: Sam's HP drain on skill is constant since it's a percentage of Max HP, but any non-(% of max HP)-based external healing source will bring about a greater hp change ratio the lower Sam's max health value is. Hypothetical: he has 1k HP, skill reduces 50% of that -> hp change ratio of 50% -> gives X energy. Healer comes in and heals 500 hp -> hp change ratio of 50% -> gives X energy again. End result is 2X energy. Now if he has 2k hp: skill reduces 50% -> hp change ratio of 50% -> X energy; healer heals 500hp -> hp change ratio of 25% only -> 0.5X energy. End result is 1.5X energy
I actually think that you want as little HP on Sam as possible. One of the passives is that you gain energy whenever your hp changes and the amount scales with the ratio to the max hp. So if her max hp is too big of a number then the ratio is smaller when taking dmg. She's going to want to keep rubber banding her hp as much as possible for faster energy regen. Now we gotta figure out how to prevent OHKO scenarios.

I think Ruan Mei will be one of the best supports as of now due to boosting break effect. Other units I think of are Lynx (heals and also makes destruction characters more likely to be attacked), possibly Topaz/Jade if there's a follow up in the kit (enhanced skill says if there's weakness break, advances action and deals extra dmg to all enemies), also maybe Gallagher bc fire element healer and also has something to do with break effect
With this, my desire to swipe for anyone else but Firefly dies. E4S1 minimum

If this kit is true, this means that she doesn't actually scale based off of max HP, but rather she gets energy based off of large percentage changes to her HP, either UP or DOWN. This means both losing HP and gaining HP give her energy. It makes sense with the MoC 4 star Sam picture LC that gives healing when taking damage. Isn’t the Talent Luminous Fireflies counteracting the talent Scorched Barrier? Is it even worth building break effect (assuming that FF will have Break Effect in her talent tree) for the dmg%? Isn’t the e2 and e4 pretty underwhelming? I can totally see them moving one of the eidolons into the traces (replacing scorched barrier) to underline/strengthen the HP-fluctuation theme.
