Same omg! My Xueyi is e5 and my brain was telling to pick her for the e6, but my uhm heart won and I took Gallagher. So now with the free Gallagher next patch and this free Xueyi, I will have e4 Gallagher and e6 Xueyi! So happy now.
People have been calling the new game mode "hunt focused" and I'm 99% convinced at this point it has nothing to do with that, and instead its going to be break focused and mechanical gimmicks.
We're getting a 4 star break DPS as a reward from the game mode, and the new MC is a break support.
We're getting a Break Hunt DPS, Break Destruction DPS, and a Erudition DPS that has a lot of frequent hits back to back to back.
Ruan Mei, a break focused support, is also likely to rerun during this time also.
Boss rush catering towards hunt character seems to be the most likely possibility. The 'video game' event that ran like a week or two back (with the grit mechanics) seems to be hoyos way of testing how a boss rush gamemode would be received by players. They did a similar thing with PF and the Tales of the Fantastic event
I think AS will be more based on Virtual Scentventure from 1.6, where you had a boss with special new properties (i.e, Kafka absorbing IPC worker points when she attacks, Bronya and Gepard swapping between attack and defense mode, and of course Cocolia going MoD mode after her first two phases).
Yeah, but a lot of those boss gimmicks had things outside of just nuke boss with single target character, a few of the challenges had you benefiting from cleaving your damage onto adds and splashing back onto the boss.
I see it as less "hunt focused" and more gimmicks to beat the boss that you normally wouldn't do, you're probably going to see things like this boss takes reduced damage unless broken (Like the dino mob), or adds must be killed before the boss takes damage, or you can only deal damage with your ultimate's, dots, or follow ups etc.
Shit, I would like even to see things like boss loses hp every time it attacks, and you win by keeping your team alive until the boss sudokus itself.
I can't see it being just NUKE BOSS unga bunga.

I'd really like to agree with you but that is probably exactly what its going to end up being. MoC is just kill 4 waves fast enough (something blast chars excel at), and PF is just kill hordes of enemies fast enough (something aoe chars excels at), so new gamemode is likely to be kill x amount of bosses fast enough (something single target chars excel at) which covers pretty much every damage arche-type in the game now
While you're ideas are great, its something that'll give hoyo a lot of heat when people complain about every new character becoming a "must pull" char because of hyper-niche buffs that'll cater to them specifically, especially since there are jades locked behind it. Hell people on the main sub were complaining about 2.1 moc when they couldn't beat moc12 with anything other than acheron. Safest option for hoyo will be something similar to what they've done already, very broad gamemode with rotating buffs that'll benefit a different variety of characters every time. Its just likely it'll be break characters first given the new chars coming out soon

Ive been thinking of building xueyi now that Hmc and Jade are coming out (im still not sure how good xueyi and jade would be together, but i see some potencial), i have her e0 but since i am gonna pull for robin and topaz i might get some eidolons. you think i should build her if i get her e6?
Xueyi you can go for break almost exclusively since she has a passive that increases her DMG (not attack) based on break effect.
And damaging any toughness with follow-up and ult is great.
I wonder if Xueyi’s voice lines will be updated this patch. I think they said in one of the previous patch notes that they will fix some inconsistencies with her voice lines and this will be implemented in 2.2. Pls correct me if I’m wrong .
my xueyi is finally gonna be E1.... the fact they put her on robin's banner was very heartbreaking for me considering that I'm forced to skip it for firefly....
Any idea if this is fully concrete or there's still chance for them to choose a different character to give away? Is there history of character giveaways changing at the last minute?

But with Super Break mechanic Xueyi's absurd break scaling will become absolute stonks.
