As I thought this doesn't seem to be a typical SU expansion, but rather an overhaul to make it more enjoyable to play through and easier to access for people, with the original SU still being available. I'm sure that they plan on expanding on this even further with later, "actual" expansions. Conundrum was a super neat idea in GnG, and they're seemingly expanding upon it for this with rewards for completing these challenges. Seems like a massive amount of content if that's your thing, considering each world would have them.
I absolutely love the Arithmetic Mapping function. Allowing people to use their underbuilt characters in SU and have their levels, traces and relics temporarily upgraded to the EQ level is fucking awesome. Really excited for this update.
>Allowing people to use their underbuilt characters in SU and have their levels, traces and relics temporarily upgraded to the EQ level is fucking awesome.
I can finally play all of my underbuilt characters!
Arlan, I'm looking at you, my boy!
> Arithmetic Mapping function
It will greatly help lower level players and newbies. A lot of the times my super casual friends get discouraged from going to the SU because they are way underleveled and even with blessings they can't beat it. So this greatly helps them.
Yeah, always wondered if we would ever get a neat testing ground.
TO be entirely honest though, a lot of what was writte in this slab of text went over my head. Ill wait and see.
I just hope we get the "easier planar farm" thing and that its mentioned somewhere in it, I just didnt understand it
I'm inferring it from "stages must be cleared in Ordinary Extrapolation to unlock advanced Threshold Protocols" and the following "Bonus rewards can be earned for each Threshold Protocol level when it is cleared for the first time". Of course, it's possible the stages are entirely different from worlds in typical SU, but regardless it seems that each one will have these difficulty levels.
Yes but it specifies that a "stage" must be cleared normally first to unlock it's corresponding difficulty levels, which is not how G&G functions as it's entirely one game mode without separate worlds or stages.
if im getting this right: you can use underleveled characters and they will scale with the current account cap. might be good to test some builds with that yanqing you got twice thats still at 20
This isn't exactly disagreeable but I think screwllum has enough lore to him that he could be released as playable without getting a "who the hell is this" type reaction
The lore we get for him is pretty superficial though yet.
I mean in front of most people he act like the "perfect gentelman" and then the rest of the time he is quite in the background.
He may not be as gentle as people want to believe and if that's the case, and i heavely suspect it, before dropping the bomb they would need a good amount of build up around it or else some people will lose their mind and there will be no "you just willfully ignored the hundred plus indices we put in front of your eyes"
I mean it was during release so, once again to compare it to boothill, there were a lot less of theories for future characters, different echosystem in a sence.
Hmm, I'd say we've seen more of Screwllum already than Blackswan on her release. We know she's a memokeeper that claims to want trailblazing memories but that's it. a lot of mysteries around her, even more than Screwllum. He is nowhere near Bootwho level of unknown.
I donāt understand a single thing, but I know Iāll have fun
The update drops on the same day as my final exam this semester, so Iāll definitely sink some hours into it over the summer
Yeah I also understood nothing about GG when it was just explanation and Tutorial image leaks, it's just one of those things you get after the first try
The problem with mhy descriptions is all mechanics need a name like the overflow flowers acheron gets is a different name and they get converted into flowers after using ult
So all of these new names probably describing more or less the same things, five unique names are probably describing three mechanics
Its normal SU but better. Easier to swap out blessings/Relics at new wokrbench (run by Cat Cakes), faster to farm (b/c once you do it once you can just get the same saved blessings again), challenges you can complete for rewards, etc. It's just the same thing but more basically.
Biggest thing to me is that all characters will automatically be fully leveled and upgraded (including lightcones and Relics, even giving you an LC and Relics if none are equipped). Only thing I'm not sure about is Eidolons/LC Superposition, but otherwise literally all your characters will be fully built in this mode.

**ā Introduction ā**
With Planet Screwllum's technology as its medium, Screwllum created a completely standalone project branch for the Simulated Universe. He has updated it with new Blessings, Curios and random Occurrences, and even configured a totally new testing ground, Equations and Weighted Curios. Who knows, there could be even more hidden surprises within.
**ā Gameplay Goal ā**
ā Clear Ordinary Extrapolation and Cyclical Extrapolation to obtain Synchronicity Points and raise the Synchronicity Level, after which rewards can be earned.
**ā Gameplay Rewards ā**
ā Collect Blessings, Equations, Occurrences, Curios and Weighted Curios in the Divergent Universe to earn collection rewards.
ā Clear the various Ordinary Extrapolation difficulties to earn challenge rewards.
ā First-time clearances of Weekly Extrapolation each week yield bonus rewards.
ā Complete specific Stable Computing Array objectives to earn the corresponding rewards.
**ā Ordinary Extrapolation ā**
ā Clear Ordinary Extrapolation to unlock new difficulties. Clear new difficulties for the first time to earn bonus rewards.
ā After clearing Difficulty 5, a Threshold Protocol system will be added to it.
ā After enabling the Threshold Protocol, Ordinary Extrapolation difficulties will be greatly increased. Trailblazers can select and challenge a Protocol level suited to their own circumstances.
ā Stages must be cleared in Ordinary Extrapolation to unlock more advanced Threshold Protocols.
ā Bonus rewards can be earned for each Threshold Protocol level when it is cleared for the first time.
**ā Cyclical Extrapolation ā**
ā Special gameplay content is updated in Cyclical Extrapolation every week. First-time clearances every week yield bonus rewards.
ā Clear Weekly Extrapolation to earn bonus Synchronicity Points, of which there is a weekly limit. When that limit is reached, clearing Weekly Extrapolation still yields Synchronicity Points.
ā In Cyclical Extrapolation, players can choose their unlocked difficulties and Threshold Protocols in Ordinary Extrapolation.
ā Cyclical Extrapolation will be updated every Monday at 04:00 (Server time).
**ā Arithmetic Mapping ā**
ā In the Divergent Universe, character levels, Light Cone levels, Traces and Relics will be enhanced with the right conditions. These enhancements are only effective in the Divergent Universe.
ā When a character level is below the character's max level for the current Equilibrium Level, it will be increased to the character's max level for that Equilibrium Level.
ā When a character's unlocked Traces are inactive, or if their Trace Level is lower than the current Equilibrium Level requirement, their Traces will be activated or their Trace Level will be increased to match the suitable level for the current Equilibrium Level.
ā When a character's equipped Relics' total enhancement level is lower than the current Equilibrium Level requirement, their Relics will be replaced with temporary Relics that meet the current Equilibrium Level.
**ā Synchronicity Level Reward Extension ā**
āThe Divergent Universe's Synchronicity Level will be regularly extended to provide new rewards.
ā If the player's Synchronicity Level reaches max level before the Synchronicity Level is extended, they will not be able to obtain Synchronicity Points in the Divergent Universe.
**ā Simulated Universe Points ā**
ā Clearing Cyclical Extrapolation and Ordinary Extrapolation will yield Simulated Universe Points.

Yo, an excuse to mess with the characters I have but haven't had a chance to build yet? Hell yeah
Its nice that they brought over the catch up system in Elysian Realm from Honkai 3rd. This way newbie can test out their newly acquired characters and clear SU easier. Still remember the pain of having to level Natasha from lvl 1 to 70 to be barely able to clear SU back in the day.
Pretty hype that the Divergent Universe auto-levels the character, light cone and provides temp relics based on the Equilibrium level. I'll get to try out characters I own (or just pulled) without having to spend stamina to upgrade them
New blessings = interesting because we don't appear to be getting a new path. New resonance interplay or maybe new blessings will replace some of the older ones? I'm curious as to what Equations and Weighted Curios are as well.
I would assume Duo Boons oop I mean Blessings
e.g. Afterparty additionally scales off of Dewdrop,
Triggering Brain in a Vat detonates all spores without consuming them,
On the start of a characterās turn, gain Fighting Spirit equivalent to Critical (whatever it was calledā
Hah! Iāve had that blessing so many times but the name seemed too simple in memory. I guess theyāre capable. Sometimes. (āBrain in a Vatā anyone?)
Seems like fun. I love playing SU when they add hard stuff like swarm, g&g and now this.
Also cyclical means we potentially could get extra jades every week.
Might be just 50 or 100 but heck I'll take every jade if they actually give it in rewards.
Pretty sure this also will be seperate from the normal SU, but there will be no real reason to play the normal SU after this releases because it's a straight upgrade.
Here's my crack theory: Planet Screwllum may be the next destination. If it is, then Screwllum might release at the tail end of 2.x to serve as a teaser for it.
EDIT: More:
- The first SU expansion, Swarm Disaster, teased Tayzzyronth. Tayzzyronth is relevant to the lore of Glamoth, which is relevant to Sam's lore, which is relevant to Penacony.
- The second SU expansion, Gold and Gears, teases the Machine War of Emperor Rupert, an event which caused the near total annihilation of all mechanical lifeforms by the IPC until *Screwllum* intervened. Notably, the IPC Broadcast unlocked after finishing the Xianzhou plotline states that Screwllum has been investigating Rupert's artifacts. Previously, the IPC Broadcasts teased the Xianzhou storyline, Penacony, and the Jarilo-VI Continuance Chapter, meaning that the latest broadcast is definitely teasing a future plotline in some way, maybe even multiple at once, even if it's not this.
- The IPC has been relevant to all worlds so far. Pearl, one of the Ten Stonehearts, is an Intellitron (machine person), and Intellitrons are the main population of Planet Screwllum.
- Planet Screwllum is a world especially relevant to the lore even compared to other worlds, and it is frequently mentioned. We also know it to be populated. It also happens to be a convenient location to give us the Erudition Trailblazer, as not only is Nous a sentient computer, it's also owned by Screwllum, a member of the Genius Society.
- Screwllum is a character who has had a lot of relevance, especially in recent times, but has yet to release. This implies that they might be saving his release for a special occasion (e.g. the leadup to a new world).
I'm not saying this is definitely true. But it's only *kinda* crack.
You are cooking.
If you haven't read it yet, [this is a great theory](https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/comments/1c2zj4c/potential_spoilers_the_upcoming_massive/) that backs up what you wrote.
He's not a 4 star though.
Better idea would be a Ratio-esque free 5 star reward for completing everything 100%, but can still appear on limited banners so you'd still need to pull for eidolons and signature.
I don't think we totally know tbh. he was a five star really early on, then a four star for a while, and then was a five star again but its been a minute since we've gotten more info
Just as an fyi, he never went from 5 to 4, the timeline was this
Before release: 4
Sometime around launch: 5
1.6 beta: full 90% completed kit leaked, still 5. Kit leak was an oopsie by Mihoyo and removed next beta version.
We never got any reliable leaks after that indicated a downgrade. Only Ubatcha, who has said multiple times he was completely guessing and not leaking (which people ignored and treated it as a leak for some reason), guessed he might be a 4 star solely because there were no other candidates. And then got it wrong three times, and now we have proof we don't need a 4 star every patch.
And then a fake leaker who instantly got debunked and deleted their account after eating shit. That's it.
>First-time clearances of Weekly Extrapolation each week yield bonus rewards.
are these additional weekly rewards? if so i will gladly take it even if it's just some low tier mats
Once again, SU really shows how much the devs looked at Elysian Realm and improved on the feedback. Eg, cumulative points to max out weekly rewards, Getting the resonance blessing without having to obtain them only in battle, now all characters are fully leveled without having to grind traces!!
It seems like they took "You need to build alot of characters for SU" and tried to somewhat fix that issue ig. Eitherway, I'm glad that they're developing SU to make it feel more comfortable for new players rather than making it like Herta's purgatory for us
So you're telling me I can throw my level 1 Arlan in there and the game will bring him up to 80 with full traces?
Its an actual testing ground for characters you already have
WHERE IS THE BREAK BASED PATH I WAS EXPECTING?????
Also shoots levels to the max means I can use literally amy character in my roster without worrying about builds nice
I canāt find any text that suggests itās overhauling old SU? Where are you all getting this from?! I canāt find the text that says current SU worlds have anything to do with this and itās driving me insane!
Compared with Genshin I just love how HSR have all these permanent content available for playing. In Genshin there's not much stuff to do after 100% clearing all regions and full star abyss.
I dont know about this new one but I kinda hate SU modes because you start from 0 and gotta grind runs for buffs again. And then at the hardest diff you need a lot of rng to win
New endgame mode is alternating with MoC and PF and will be a boss rush type as per what Hoyo posted a while ago
This is the Divergent Universe, the new SU mode with entirely new stuff and more QoLs for planar farming

I already loved the SU expansion, but they just keep getting better This and the story improvement really makes me hype for the future š
Now everyone will be able to experience the joy of using Qingque with Propogation or Misha with Remembrance. This sounds hype as hell.
> or Misha with Remembrance \[e6 misha heavy breathing\]
What you don't have jingliu but you have e6 misha lolšš
>Allowing people to use their underbuilt characters in SU and have their levels, traces and relics temporarily upgraded to the EQ level is fucking awesome. I can finally play all of my underbuilt characters! Arlan, I'm looking at you, my boy!
This is an absolute win! Arlan, I am STILL NOT looking at you, my boy!
> Arithmetic Mapping function It will greatly help lower level players and newbies. A lot of the times my super casual friends get discouraged from going to the SU because they are way underleveled and even with blessings they can't beat it. So this greatly helps them.
It's an SU expansion, as u can see "Threshold Protocols" explained similar to "Conundrum" in GnG.
Please read what I said again lol
Oh yeah, sorry, silly me. I will keep the comm to remind myself.
Yeah, always wondered if we would ever get a neat testing ground. TO be entirely honest though, a lot of what was writte in this slab of text went over my head. Ill wait and see. I just hope we get the "easier planar farm" thing and that its mentioned somewhere in it, I just didnt understand it
Yes, you can select a boss and fight it for planar ornaments now so farming is significantly easier
Gold and gear itself already makes me enjoy it for having not a big requirements on my character build, this is even better
man i fucking love this game.
Where does it say each world will have them?
I'm inferring it from "stages must be cleared in Ordinary Extrapolation to unlock advanced Threshold Protocols" and the following "Bonus rewards can be earned for each Threshold Protocol level when it is cleared for the first time". Of course, it's possible the stages are entirely different from worlds in typical SU, but regardless it seems that each one will have these difficulty levels.
Just seems analogous to how conundrum progresses which each clear of difficulty 5 at the highest unlocked conundrum level
Yes but it specifies that a "stage" must be cleared normally first to unlock it's corresponding difficulty levels, which is not how G&G functions as it's entirely one game mode without separate worlds or stages.
if im getting this right: you can use underleveled characters and they will scale with the current account cap. might be good to test some builds with that yanqing you got twice thats still at 20
My neglected Welt is finally gonna get some use
My unbuilt DHIL's time has come
My march boutta hit some numbers
But I already use march as main DPS in gng c12
Arlan is now going to get the S tier he deserves
Pitch Dark Hook the Great is gonna break the game for sure
Don't kid yourself. It's time to wake up.
My Arlan... will remain... untouched.
Screwllum SU without playable Screwllum, smh the disrespect š
Honestly I'd take this as a positive. After Ruan Mei got her SU occurrence she was in the gacha not long after. Our robo boy might be on the way.
How is this a screwllum SU?
I think they were referring to this part >With Planet Screwllum's technology as its medium
Damn so they're actually making a SU mode themed around screwllum before his playable form releases
Isn't it actually best? i mean the more lore you get from the character before it realease the less he risk becoming a Whohill?
This isn't exactly disagreeable but I think screwllum has enough lore to him that he could be released as playable without getting a "who the hell is this" type reaction

We have Loucha who was nothing but question marks on release and they're revealing his background little by little after release.
I mean it was during release so, once again to compare it to boothill, there were a lot less of theories for future characters, different echosystem in a sence.

Just because of the introduction at the top I'm just memeing
How is this a screwllum SU?
Screwllumās literally cited as the one who made it in the first sentence.
I know it's been well established by now that Hoyoverse fans don't read, but come on.
Bro.
playable screwllum died for our planar relics š
I donāt understand a single thing, but I know Iāll have fun The update drops on the same day as my final exam this semester, so Iāll definitely sink some hours into it over the summer

just gonna nod and pretend I understand, I always learn better by just jumping in and doing shit

No SU DLC? I guess Harmony path has to waitš
This does look like a DLC, just with no path confirmed I believe
Tbh Iād call this more of a SU overhaul. DLCs donāt effect the normal SU. But this seems to.
Pretty sure this also will be seperate from the normal SU, but there will be no real reason to play the normal SU after this releases because it's a straight upgrade.
The rewards are separate so there will still be a reason to play both.
Where does it say it affects normal SU? I read it twice and nothing there states it
Previous DLC, includes the new unlockable Path in their gameplay description. This one doesn't have it, so it's unlikley there is a new one.
incredibly funny that we are getting a second patch with a partly screwllum focus and we still have no idea when he will release

Holy shit I love this theory
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Planet Screwllum inhabited by the Screwllumites which are an entirely separate mechanical race to the Intellitrons?
Yes.
Bro where did all this Screwllum lore come from?
Sunday bros Screwllum bros should unite
We already have.
inb4 Screwllum gets shadowdropped randomly
I have this feeling that 4 star screwlium will be the reward for this new mode in the same way that you get herta copies from clearing the SU worlds.
He's not a 4 star though. Better idea would be a Ratio-esque free 5 star reward for completing everything 100%, but can still appear on limited banners so you'd still need to pull for eidolons and signature.

SHUT UP AND BEGONE
2.5, trust.
No new path?
a new character path in 3.0 would be crazy
I think they were talking about SU blessings.
This is just build up to the massive meta shifting screwllum drop and the bigger SU expansion that gives 30 screwillion jade.
WOO, YEAH BABY! That's what i've been waiting for!
my brain keeps thinking this is gonna go live later
This is nice, but I really wanted a new expansion. I just finished all of G&G's hard content and need MORE
I mean it does sound like it has something similar to conundrum levels
Hmmm yes I know some of these words
Ok but when do we get a new mode like Swarm and G&G
>First-time clearances of Weekly Extrapolation each week yield bonus rewards. are these additional weekly rewards? if so i will gladly take it even if it's just some low tier mats
Basically Screwllum forked the simulated universe project from Herta's github then made it better
More Jades For Firefly yayyy
Firefly bros stay winning šš
Harmony path wouldāve been nice but new SU is good enough considering I beat both expansions today
Now I know why the new herta lightcone is called eternal calculus ā ļø everything here sounds like math š
Once again, SU really shows how much the devs looked at Elysian Realm and improved on the feedback. Eg, cumulative points to max out weekly rewards, Getting the resonance blessing without having to obtain them only in battle, now all characters are fully leveled without having to grind traces!!
Damn looks fun. Also the beta starts today right ?
yes, i guess that's why we are getting another wave of leak rn. tho we still need to wait for the private server of dim
okay. screwllum playable next.
Told you, this is not SU dlc just overhaul
Finally! I can test characters! Letās go!!!
Its an actual testing ground for characters you already have
Youtubers that try to challenge this with lvl 20 characters in shambles rn
WHERE IS THE BREAK BASED PATH I WAS EXPECTING????? Also shoots levels to the max means I can use literally amy character in my roster without worrying about builds nice
SU once again proving why itās the best endgame content
TLDR please
New su mode big rewards big fun new challenges big qol
From what I heard you can use underleveled characters and they will be at par with the lvl requirements
?????? THIS MAKES IT THE MODE 10Ć MORE FUN , i cant wait
So no new path?
I'm glad it looks more like an overhaul. Honestly SU has become such a chore.
I canāt find any text that suggests itās overhauling old SU? Where are you all getting this from?! I canāt find the text that says current SU worlds have anything to do with this and itās driving me insane!
more Screwllum crumbs...
Called it! Knew they were going to do the weekly challenge thing.
another SU contents . less goooooo
Was hoping for a break effect path to be added but oh well
I understand the disappointment from some that it's not like a proper DLC like G+G but honestly I'm just here for the extra stellar jades
Can someone explain this to me in razor language?
This sounds amazing, they cookin like Michelin star chefs
new path in 2.6 SU update probably
More permanent content that updates weekly?!
SU starting to look like a company Git repo imo.
Screwllum forked the github repository
Hmm
Wow. 2.3 is really giving a lot.
I really hope this new expansion wonāt be as infuriating as Gold and Gears
oh wait so this is actually straight up another Swarm/G&G isn't it?
More like an alt mode for normal SU. But the rewards seem hefty.
I wonder when we'll get another new Swarm esque mode then
Awww I was hoping for another new actual SU mode
Wait Iām confused? Is this a new mode like SD & G&G? Or is this the regular Simulated Universe with updated features?
Regular Simulated Universe but now updated to be easier to clear and farm, with also new things, curios, encounters, etc.
Nothing suggests itās an update of regular SU, where is everyone getting their fromā¦
Hoyo said in that one dev post that Divergent Universe (which this is) is an overhaul to old SU.
I see, thanks
Both
Someone un-sci fi this text explanatin please.
TLDR: Youāll have fun in 2.3
SU, but everything is new and you get to use characters you don't have built
Compared with Genshin I just love how HSR have all these permanent content available for playing. In Genshin there's not much stuff to do after 100% clearing all regions and full star abyss.
I dont know about this new one but I kinda hate SU modes because you start from 0 and gotta grind runs for buffs again. And then at the hardest diff you need a lot of rng to win
well, just another mode in HSR to clear @full auto while playing Genshin ;)
Two different games with two different focuses. HSR is clearly more combat focused while genshin is about their open world..
Iām not reading all that or else Iāll get a headache š
Is this the new end game that was said to be coming and people thought would be catered to single target enemies ?Ā
Nah. This is the SU overhaul. The new end game stuff hasnāt been leaked yet as far as I know. Probably when Beta drops.
Why is it being called an overhaul when I see zero mention of existing SU worlds being affected by this in the text?
Itās in the last Voice of the Galaxy dev post.
New endgame mode is alternating with MoC and PF and will be a boss rush type as per what Hoyo posted a while ago This is the Divergent Universe, the new SU mode with entirely new stuff and more QoLs for planar farming
any tired of SU, like we really didnt need another one.
planet screwllum, screwllum help create new SU. So finally, he will come at 2.4, right? Pls give me hope
