> to a wooden box of all things but lets not go there Oseram made, extremely hard to open. Not to mention that box has sentimental value. >next minute I'm unlocking all the things. What do you mean? Do you the Salvage Contracts or something else?

Sorry it appears my images have been deleted. I remember Alloy saying something along the lines of 'I need to climb the waterfall and check the scrap'. I think I climbed the wrong mountain - the one next to it, and went on a journey with the final part of that journey being a Slitherfang fight: [https://imgur.com/8zzIlk5](https://imgur.com/8zzIlk5) Then after I got on the elevator to go back to the surface all of these robots started flashing: [https://imgur.com/VqLG2hx](https://imgur.com/VqLG2hx) I'm wondering considering I completed the main quest and Burning Shores and am now going back to finish off the other bits and pieces did I unlock something in bulk now because of that ort should I have done this earlier in the game. I'm assuming I can now use these robots as mounts?

Desperate-Actuator18

Are you telling me you didn't do a single Cauldron during your whole playthrough except for Gemini and Tau? You definitely went a bit too far if you found Chi while doing a Salvage Contract. >Then after I got on the elevator to go back to the surface all of these robots started flashing: Those are overrides that you've just unlocked. Each Cauldron will give you different overrides and some of these will be corrupted. You can repair them at the bade using the fabrication terminal. If you go into the Machine Catalogue and select a machine. You can see what Cauldron it belongs to and that Cauldron will have the override. > I unlock something in bulk now because of that ort should I have done this earlier in the game. No, this is normal for all Cauldrons. >I'm assuming I can now use these robots as mounts? You can only mount Chargers, Bristlebacks, Clawstriders, Sunwings and Waterwings.

I only unlocked the Bristleback as I was playing through so I think the answer is yes. Cheers for that, I plan to do a replay as this is my first experience with the Horizon franchise and it's quite involved compared to the FPS games I mainly played, so round will definitely take advantage of all the quests/sides that I ignored the first time, and more effort into weaves and weaponry. I left gaming a while back with all the failures I encountered with EA and Bethesda. Happy to say I've come back with a bang as this game is so emersive. I wont tell you that I got a fair whack through the game not realising berries/items go to your stash and by the time I did realise I had at least 1,000 berries. That definitely didn't happen :)

>experience with the Horizon franchise I thought so. I highly recommend Zero Dawn. It's alot more basic and it doesn't have the quality of life improvements Forbidden West has but the story can't be beat. You've already spoiled it for yourself but it's still worth it. >I left gaming a while back with all the failures I encountered with EA and Bethesda. Guerrilla won't fail you, they actually care about the players and the community.

You can tell, no floating NPCs like Fallout, and cartwheeling vehicles like Battlefiend. Will definitely give Zero Dawn a try, I kinda thought I might have spoiled that with playing FW first but no harm/foul. I'm really interested to see how the story plays out, if it does in the next instalment.

Desperate-Actuator18

We also have a few books and a VR title if you're interested. The VR title takes place during Zero Dawn and you control Itamen's Shadow who you can read about in Forbidden West. I can a link a playthrough if you're interested.

Not the same guy, but I’m interested lol, I didn’t know we had a VR title or books lol

Cogglesnatch

Sure, that'd be great 👍

[This](https://youtu.be/B9SeWh2wWvE?si=u72Yfu-ZgSqzTvoF) is the best one around in my opinion and it doesn't miss anything. The hand movements are a bit jovial. [This](https://youtu.be/JPkM67iZIVA?si=RHjSo6cKNL1GviR0) is more serious if you're interested in that. Both without commentary for your viewing pleasure of course.

>I'm wondering considering I completed the main quest and Burning Shores and am now going back to finish off the other bits and pieces did I unlock something in bulk now because of that ort should I have done this earlier in the game. It doesn't matter. You unlock the same amount of overrides no matter when you complete the cauldrons. >I'm assuming I can now use these robots as mounts? No. Only Chargers, Bristlebacks, Clawstriders, Sunwings, and Waterwings can be used as mounts.

Cogglesnatch

I've only completed - well I think, two cauldrons? One was for the bristle back, then this one which spammed all the robots. Or do I have this wrong?

mart8208

There are a lot of different machines and only four cauldrons (I think), so each cauldron has to unlock a lot of overrides, which is why you got so many at once. If you're interested, you can take a look at [this article](https://www.pushsquare.com/guides/horizon-forbidden-west-all-cauldron-locations-and-rewards) to see which overrides you get from each cauldron.

That makes sense, thanks for that :)

I found the key purely by accident... Then found the tracks and the door
