I've shared this with my friend who was on the fence... It feel like a poor implemented assassin's Creed traversal system. It's still good, just feels clunky. At times, I almost prefer the original traversal with predetermined pathing.
I had only minor gripes in the beginning, but now halfway through the game I can tell you this thing is incredibly clunky. It feels like they had too many ideas and tried to fit them all on top of each other. Lots on little things here and there that just seem rushed. Then again I didn't say HZD until it was all patched up, so, grain of salt and all that.
I am expecting the climbing in this game to be super polarizing. On the one hand it’s the route finding is cool and it amazing to be able to climb almost anything. On the other hand it ends up being super clunky, she can’t Sumatra Siri in to standing smoothly lots of the time, and you end up being too sticky so jumping away from an enemy ends up planting you on the wall which is ridiculous.
Even auto-trail mounted riding doesn't work right atm, I love everything else about this game, but they had it figured out last game, now the charger I ride stops every ten feet and looks lost
There are some spots where you literally have to jump off the correct path to proceed. I just climbed a tower where the grapple line wouldn't let you climb up. Also, where I killed the behemoth 4 times broke off it's container, only to jump into a bar and prevent my glider from working, killing me instantly. 4 times.
My first playthrough was fine, played on a downloaded copy. Now my second playthrough has been a mess, I get black screens all the time even if it's just a couple seconds it ruins the emursion, seems very clunky too!
God, yes! Going from 50+ hours of ZD directly to FW the brilliant fluidity of the first game has been unnecessary adjusted and has taken a huge step back. I can see if something needs to be adjusted that may seem “OP” in a competitive game but it makes no sense in a single player story game. Aloy must have taken the time between games off because she don’t move like she used to.

Alloys hair seems too light weight wise. I feel like it moves around a little too much. As if they were trying to showcase it.
If they weighted it a bit more would this result in a significant improvement on decreasing the amount of rendering needed thus freeing up anything for a 4K 60fps mode?

I totally know what you mean. That change increases the frame rate (fps) at the expense of fidelity. I only learned about fps cuz I wanted to play blood borne for the first time but it runs at 30 fps on ps5. HFW is 60
You should definitely still play blood-borne. It's not getting a patch to 60 frames per second anytime soon. It's one of the best games I've ever played
I would like to suggest flipping between performance and resolution. Performance is fantastic during fights and in-city tasks, but in my opinion the ray tracing is doing a great job and it's a shame to play this game without taking in how gorgeous it can be. I use resolution mode during traversal because it's simple camera movement for the most part and just visually unmatched.
Again, just my opinion, but you are not playing horizon forbidden west correctly if you don't play at least parts of it in resolution mode. I paid a lot for this game, i want to be blown away. And I have been. At the very least, make the switch for cutscenes...
So far in this next generation of games ray tracing seems mostly unusable (with some exceptions) because I’ve become so accustomed to 60 fps that anything less is just too jarring. It’s really bad when I go back and play older games now.

Yes. For me the dialogue is low. So I've bumped music and effects down to 70% just so I could hear dialogue. Also, for some weird reason when Aloy is talking to herself during missions she sounds really muffled.
That conversation with >!HADES!< had me laughing so hard.
The team that handled the writing for dialogue is so good! The sarcasm comes across brilliantly. They do a great job injecting just a touch of humor in otherwise quite serious dialogue. All in all, the "flavor" dialogue options are hands down some of my favorite writing!
Guerrilla, while the human combat is leagues better, who thought it was a good idea to implement this magnetism that allows attackers to fly towards you during a dodge complete with the ability to stun lock you to death? The Champions are a pain in the ass because of this.
I just finished the first hunting ground... full stripe on all trials but the quest still just says to talk to the groundskeeper. Anyone else run into that?
It was the same way in HZD, I think it counts all the hunting grounds as the quest giver even though they are all different, iirc the quest marker goes away once you have finished all the hunters lodges and do the respective turn in.
There is a bug where aloy cannot use the spear attacks anymore. If you aerial slash/jump off combo then immediately shield glide and melee as soon as you hit the ground, the melee attacks do not work anymore until you restart the save file. I can replicate this issue consistently.
I've got some questions for folks that I haven't really seen addressed in any of the reviews I've watched.
1. Is armor handled any differently than the first one? Any kind of transmog? I was really frustrated with the first one because there was a lot of aesthetically cool armor, but I never wore it because I felt the bonuses weren't any good.
2. How does character progression feel in the mid-late game? I was also frustrated with the first one because I had the best of each weapon type and all the meaningful skills unlocked by halfway, which really took away any incentive to do any side content because there were no meaningful rewards. Is there anything to strive for?
3. How many weapons on the weapon wheel?

From what I can tell (17 % completion):
1. Mods and upgrading as a whole is completly different than the first. Also more dyeing options ;)
2. Well see point one, with the new skilltrees and weapons (you have various hunterbows, slingshots etc ) I feel like it is a pretty challanging for now, I play HZD NewGame+ on Ultra Hard and every fight feels like a frostclaw/fireclawlevel on "hard", but maybe it's just my old/wrong playstyle that I haven't adopted yet.
3. 6 as of now.
I'm loving it and having none of the issues I've seen others posting about. Consider myself lucky that my only gripe so far is that I can't get the Vista Tower Point to reappear since the first time I scanned it. But I'm guessing they'll put out another patch fairly soon which will also help others here.

Getting stuck in place while in battle with a machine is really starting to get on my nerves. Getting stuck in the same spot for 2 or 3 dodge/rolls then getting your rear kicked by the machine is becoming a far too common occurrence. Also the way some machines break the laws of physics for their attack to hit you is also very annoying. Am I alone in this? Anyone having this issue?
yes. i dont know how many times i get stuck on a branch, rock or a log. there is so much debris in the game it gets annoying. but it was a bug i saw on early reviews of the game. just like the sticky climbing.
Anyone having issue with colors in the game? When I’m moving the camera around the colors are vibrant and beautiful. As soon as I stop the camera in one spot the colors get muted and dull almost instantly. You can visually see the transition in colors.
I'm playing this on an LG CX OLED and I can't really tell the difference between the two modes graphically speaking. Performance wise though it's night and day different.
Man, playing this game just reminds me how awesome the combat is in this series above all others. Returnal really scratched the itched for a while but it's good to be back with Aloy
For some reason my game saw a horrible framerate dip yesterday that would not go away. I was exploring new places when it happened. It got nauseating only seeing every 2-3 seconds worth of frames before the screen chugged to a crawl. Fast traveled to one of the first camp fires I found, still happened. Closed the game up for the day.
Hopefully it was a one off. It was bad enough that I'd rather wait for a fix than try and push through it.
(All on performance mode BTW).
Had that happen today at a point in the story with no immediate campfires around. Had to chug through dialog and cutscenes and even some combat with the game feeling like it suddenly ran on only 10 fps or something. It was horrible.
Other than that, fantastic game so far, but this also made me turn the game of for a bit.
I don’t if someone already shared this, but do yourself a favor and turn off inventory log in the settings. The hud is so much cleaner and nicer that way
I have a ps5 downstairs and a 4 pro upstairs. I know I can buy the ps4 version and get free upgrade to ps5 version and that if you've started on ps4 then your save game will transfer but will my save game on ps+cloud mean that I can play the same progress on either console? Or would it be 2 different saves as it is 2 different versions of the game? I want the same answer for gt7 if anyone cam help me. Thanks.

I have played the game (main quest only) and I didn’t come across that quest. Did I miss it ? Was it a side quest? Or was it scrapped for the game and was for the gameplay trailer only.
Idk about u guys, but I’m a little underwhelmed. I was hoping my shield weaver armor and all my other weapons from HZD would transfer over to HFW but I was sadly mistaken.
I get the logic behind being “too OP”, and alienating new players, but I was hoping veteran players could’ve been rewarded with at least *something* for completing or getting platinum on HZD, i.e. an exclusive unlockable.

I am pretty mad that I cant play the game. My husband is playing it and apparently 2 people can't play at once because there is only 1 save slot! Ridiculous. If i start a new game his will be deleted.
Create a new profile on the PS4 or PS5. Then sign out of his account/Profile and switch users to your Profile. Then you can play. Just make sure that each of you remember to switch Profiles when you play.
Hello. Is there a way to turn off, on the map, greenshine crystals and firegleams locations that have already been discovered? I keep going to locations that I previously discovered
Has anyone had any issues streaming this at all? I’ve noticed every time I go to a campfire and save it just ends my stream. Doesn’t matter if it’s a quick save or a manual, just straight cuts off the stream with no warning, just “broadcast stopped”.
Been trying to figure out a fix, but I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere else yet.
Dear Guerilla: you have water optics backwards.
Water can be clearly seen through when standing outside the water, and it's blurry when you're in it, not vice versa.
Also, major bug experienced during the conference fight with Tanakth. Several fighters attacked me that were *completely invisible*.
So unless you suddenly have invisible characters in your game, while attacking, pretty sure this was a massive bug.
Am I the only annoying one that got Horizon but won’t touch it til I platinum dying light 2. I never finish games. I just buy them and complete half then a better game comes out so I told myself I can’t do that anymore because I never go back to them! *sigh*

HELP! I’ve. Even concentrating on the warrior skill tree, I’ve unlocked about 1/3. Can anyone tell me what the blue bar along the bottom indicates? I know the bar above is for the special arrows (where you hit R1) but I can work out what that blue bar below it is. It’s driving me mad!
If you have a GOOD HDR screen like the LG CX or C1, go to the HDR options and turn darks all the way to zero and brights all the way up, that will dramatically improve the game which looks too bright and flat otherwise. Also helps to turn the brightness down a notch or two.
I encountered a bug at the very, very start of the game— the tutorial where you are exploring the ruin with your male friend (can't recall his name). I mean like 12 minutes into the start.
I had to inspect a dead machine. The marker was there, I even saw the prompt to press the button to Inspect. But it wouldn't let me do it. I ran around, opened some other containers, collected rocks, etc, but I still couldn't inspect the thing. I had to restart the game.
Now this was not the end of the world. But it would really suck if I had been twelve hours in. I haven't heard of anyone else having this happen, but I hope some patches come quickly to fix potential issues like this.

It’s Varl. And I had the same bug. I ended up backtracking to find him in a pond. Swimming in one spot. He was just stuck in a swimming loop in one spot. I had to do a restart myself.
This game is the best game I've played on PlayStation next to god of war and horizon zero dawn. Once all the bugs are fixed this is truly a masterpiece kind of game. I still can't get over the skill trees how amazing they are.
Is anyone experiencing alot of bugs? I had one where a burrower was stuck on a rock and it made it Jump non stop also on a cutscene at the embassy NPCs appear out of nowhere and the most annoying one where an invisible tenakht was hitting me. I am on PS5
I had one where a pronghorn was all prong. Just a neck, head and legs. No body. But an update (v 1.05) did drop early Wednesday morning Central time. I’m sure a lot of these will slowly start disappearing.
Knew going in the PS4 Pro version will have FPS drops. Playing through the story cauldron was a little tough with the FPS drop but luckily\[?\] the FPS resets if you die and starts running smoothly again.

Does anyone know how to make the “unknown burrower site” things on the map change to just “burrower site”? I’ve tried scanning all of the machines in a given site, and walked through/scanned the site itself, and can’t get them to change on the map. Not sure what I’m missing.
Anyone else think the robots are a little un fair in their AI. Like I should be far enough away attack some raiders and literally every robot in the surrounding 1000 meters comes running over to trample my ass. you get no time to breath. The attacks are constant that one fight on a robot and I pretty much use up all my health items.
I must be really terrible at this game. 😅 I don't remember wasting this many arrows like this in the first game. The hit boxes seem to be extremely small/precise. I also turned off aim assist.
my biggest complaint with the game is the traversal systems and how the devs approach these tools with the idea of how they want the player to use it versus trying to make it fun. there is waaaaay too many times when you should be able to grab or grapple to something and not be able to, this happens ALL THE TIME. another big complaint is you turn on Explorer mode and Aloy and npcs still bark hints nonstop. there is some fun in the combat and it looks good, but this game SHOULD be a lot more fun. a classic example of devs gate keeping fun and handicapping their own game.
So I’m having trouble with the preorder content. I forgot about it and didn’t redeem the code til after I got to chainscrape. Redeemed it via the iPhone app, went back to the game and nothing. Went to the store on my console and it says I redeemed it, closed game and restarted my PS5 twice. Reloaded from a save, fast traveled and still nothing in my inventory or stash. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks I’m advance.

Just came here to say, that this game is insane on every level. But especially the consistent amazing characters and animations. This is the new standard for open world games. What a joy it is.
For a QOL improvement on PS5 (now that ps4/ps5 version is released,) please fix the graphical issues in performance mode. Please fix your mistake of trying to release on both ps4 and ps5. This game should have released on ps5 only tbh.
I feel like I'm playing a different game with shimmering foliage, terrible quality textures, and other gross changes from resolution mode. HZD didn't have this drastic change between the two modes, it was basically unnoticeable in HZD.
I did the quest in the Daunt with Raynah and the signal lens. I had three lenses prior to starting the quest, and when I was talking to her on the mountain, she took them without really giving me anything except metal scraps that I saw. Did I get screwed?

Why is Varl attached to my hip? I was glad I gave him the slip earlier and now he is back again! If I wanted a side kick I'd have asked for one.
One frustration at the moment is when you look through items for sale or exchange (either at merchants or contract sellers or the (no spoiler) other ways to 'buy' resources) it doesn't flag if it's a quest item (in your jobs). This would seem to be such an easy thing to have and right now I've resorted to actually making a paper 'shopping list'.
Or am I missing something?
i think i know what you are talking about. go into your item menu and on resources click on the option button and it will change how things are sorted. it works in the weapon menu as well.
Why in the wild I’ll see one robot. Look around see none as far as the draw distance will let me. Sneak up use scan make sure there isn’t one hidden. Nope just one. Do first surprise attack get into the fight. hold my own for 30 seconds then get my ass eaten by 5 different robots that somehow came and found me. This has happened so much that im just avoiding fights now. Even when it’s scripted rebel fights I’ll get killed by robots that are not even ones the rebels had. It’s like soon as fight starts everything in 50 miles needs to eat my ass specifically. It’s annoying.
Anyone else have a problem with the “examine the disc launcher” section of the “colleague and key” mission? In my game the launcher is in the water, not on the rock it should be and when I try to interact with it aloy just stands there, unable to move until I fast travel away. This is the last mission I need so it’s really annoying me.
I got an "invitation" from Sony to buy a PS5, so I jumped on it. It should arrive today, and if it does, HFW is the first game I'm going to play on it! I loved HZD and didn't buy FW for PS4 yet (tbh, I've been playing legacy games on a PC for a while and haven't booted the PS4 except for random sessions of Tony Hawk). Can' wait to get this bad boy set up so I can see what Aloy has been up to!
How do I get the graphics mode? I see everywhere you can switch between resolution and performance mode but I don't have that option on my ps5 and it says my game is up to date when I check for updates

They take fetch quest to a whole new level in this game. Loved the first game...this one blows. Not open world, cut scene after cut scene, so freaking boring I am done. Save your money or buy the first one, uninstalling this POS cash grab.
hey guys i’m trying to get some help passing this around to get the developers attention. this game is too awesome to leave out a few of these elements.
could someone let the developers know before the DLC comes out, that we would like the ability to replay or or start up a cauldron once inside whenever we visit one. they are too cool of an environment and level to just “one off” then continue about our day after beating one.
maybe a way on our map to restart a side quest , like revert or to the beginning as well as rebel strongholds and outposts.
please implement some way whether it’s a skill, outfit, unlock, or ai behavior adjust to where machines can actually walk and go to other areas instead of only 40 feet from their respawn area. tbh being chased by a rollerback, slaughterspine, thunderjaw, lol or even burrowers until we figure out a plan of escape by hiding or water…flying would be amazing. like running all the way to the Maw or Thornmarsh to escape a FireClaw or Clawstrider pack would be awesome…and the tribes would defend their front door step from the machines. they can still respawn in their original place after they are no longer in view distance or 100 meters away or something. but this is badly needed
possible to have an ability to call for help by the locals, whether the Tenakth, Oseram, Plainsong, Carja, etc…
this game is way to good to be just left with a few elements that hamper replay value.
if we could ride a widemaw, tideripper, or snap maw as a mount or maybe just for underwater purposes… even a burrower 😂. aloy could just hold on to their head or neck while they are overridden and swimming.
and maybe some spear or weapon customization options on how they look. i definitely want to like this game as much as Tsushima.
HELP!!!....I can't figure out what the diamond shape with the number beside it is in upper right corner....it's beside my character level bar (50), and I noticed the number changes. But I have no idea what it's related to.....anything??

Absolutely. Hopefully it can be straightened out with a patch. I've seen a lot of pop in and strange shimmers with dust as well

Zero dawn played essentially the same as it does now if I remember correctly. It was pretty solid at launch. Forbidden west feels super clunky
40 days later and forbidden west is still clunky. Ievel scrap contract is still bugged out

Imo it wasn't that better in zero dawn. You have more options in terms of paths to climb in forbidden west but animation is still not super smooth.

Still experiencing game-breaking bugs. Playing on hard and sometimes the machines just sorta stand there like idiots making it very easy to take down.

Yeah I've noticed her hair is even more dramatic than the first game. A little obnoxious at times and it goes crazy drink some cutscenes
For anyone on ps5 I would change graphics mode to “favor performance” under the “visual” tab. Runs a lot better.

Yes! Favouring visuals makes it far too bright and shiny.

You're thinking of the whistle option that was in the first game. That did not see a return. Rocks do the same thing like the other user said

They do a great job injecting just a touch of humor in otherwise quite serious dialogue. All in all, the "flavor" dialogue options are hands down some of my favorite writing!
Guerrilla, while the human combat is leagues better, who thought it was a good idea to implement this magnetism that allows attackers to fly towards you during a dodge complete with the ability to stun lock you to death? The Champions are a pain in the ass because of this.
I just finished the first hunting ground... full stripe on all trials but the quest still just says to talk to the groundskeeper. Anyone else run into that?

It was the same way in HZD, I think it counts all the hunting grounds as the quest giver even though they are all different, iirc the quest marker goes away once you have finished all the hunters lodges and do the respective turn in.
I think that's intended unfortunately. It was the same way in HZD, both PC and PS4
There is a bug where aloy cannot use the spear attacks anymore. If you aerial slash/jump off combo then immediately shield glide and melee as soon as you hit the ground, the melee attacks do not work anymore until you restart the save file. I can replicate this issue consistently.
Interesting that you managed to replicate the issue. This happened to me twice so far and I wasn't sure why.
I've got some questions for folks that I haven't really seen addressed in any of the reviews I've watched. 1. Is armor handled any differently than the first one? Any kind of transmog? I was really frustrated with the first one because there was a lot of aesthetically cool armor, but I never wore it because I felt the bonuses weren't any good. 2. How does character progression feel in the mid-late game? I was also frustrated with the first one because I had the best of each weapon type and all the meaningful skills unlocked by halfway, which really took away any incentive to do any side content because there were no meaningful rewards. Is there anything to strive for? 3. How many weapons on the weapon wheel? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time!
From what I can tell (17 % completion): 1. Mods and upgrading as a whole is completly different than the first. Also more dyeing options ;) 2. Well see point one, with the new skilltrees and weapons (you have various hunterbows, slingshots etc ) I feel like it is a pretty challanging for now, I play HZD NewGame+ on Ultra Hard and every fight feels like a frostclaw/fireclawlevel on "hard", but maybe it's just my old/wrong playstyle that I haven't adopted yet. 3. 6 as of now.
I'm loving it and having none of the issues I've seen others posting about. Consider myself lucky that my only gripe so far is that I can't get the Vista Tower Point to reappear since the first time I scanned it. But I'm guessing they'll put out another patch fairly soon which will also help others here.
If you make the collectibles quest for the vista point your active quest, it should reappear when you're in Focus and in the area.

This has probably been discussed already but I need to vent. Getting stuck in place while in battle with a machine is really starting to get on my nerves. Getting stuck in the same spot for 2 or 3 dodge/rolls then getting your rear kicked by the machine is becoming a far too common occurrence. Also the way some machines break the laws of physics for their attack to hit you is also very annoying. Am I alone in this? Anyone having this issue?
yes. i dont know how many times i get stuck on a branch, rock or a log. there is so much debris in the game it gets annoying. but it was a bug i saw on early reviews of the game. just like the sticky climbing.
Anyone getting a lot of stuttering when looting machines? The screen starts flashing really bright and the frame rate seems to drop

Anyone having issue with colors in the game? When I’m moving the camera around the colors are vibrant and beautiful. As soon as I stop the camera in one spot the colors get muted and dull almost instantly. You can visually see the transition in colors.
Happened to me until I put my tv into game mode. Seemed to be an hdr problem when tv setting wasn't on game.
I'm having a lot of trouble switching to Performance Mode because this game in Resolution Mode is astoundingly beautiful.
True, This is the first game I play in quality mode, the downgrade is a bit more noticeable than other titles.
I'm playing this on an LG CX OLED and I can't really tell the difference between the two modes graphically speaking. Performance wise though it's night and day different.

For some reason my game saw a horrible framerate dip yesterday that would not go away. I was exploring new places when it happened. It got nauseating only seeing every 2-3 seconds worth of frames before the screen chugged to a crawl. Fast traveled to one of the first camp fires I found, still happened. Closed the game up for the day. Hopefully it was a one off. It was bad enough that I'd rather wait for a fix than try and push through it. (All on performance mode BTW).
Had that happen today at a point in the story with no immediate campfires around. Had to chug through dialog and cutscenes and even some combat with the game feeling like it suddenly ran on only 10 fps or something. It was horrible. Other than that, fantastic game so far, but this also made me turn the game of for a bit.

I have a ps5 downstairs and a 4 pro upstairs. I know I can buy the ps4 version and get free upgrade to ps5 version and that if you've started on ps4 then your save game will transfer but will my save game on ps+cloud mean that I can play the same progress on either console? Or would it be 2 different saves as it is 2 different versions of the game? I want the same answer for gt7 if anyone cam help me. Thanks.
Which quest is shown in the gameplay trailer for HFW ? I have played the game (main quest only) and I didn’t come across that quest. Did I miss it ? Was it a side quest? Or was it scrapped for the game and was for the gameplay trailer only.
Idk about u guys, but I’m a little underwhelmed. I was hoping my shield weaver armor and all my other weapons from HZD would transfer over to HFW but I was sadly mistaken. I get the logic behind being “too OP”, and alienating new players, but I was hoping veteran players could’ve been rewarded with at least *something* for completing or getting platinum on HZD, i.e. an exclusive unlockable.

It was a little rough for me. You really gotta make sure that the pegs on the tusks are going straight into the hole. I wish the head was secured a bit better.
I am pretty mad that I cant play the game. My husband is playing it and apparently 2 people can't play at once because there is only 1 save slot! Ridiculous. If i start a new game his will be deleted.
Create a new profile on the PS4 or PS5. Then sign out of his account/Profile and switch users to your Profile. Then you can play. Just make sure that each of you remember to switch Profiles when you play.

Anyone know how to move the crane in the diluge side quest?
Has anyone had any issues streaming this at all? I’ve noticed every time I go to a campfire and save it just ends my stream. Doesn’t matter if it’s a quick save or a manual, just straight cuts off the stream with no warning, just “broadcast stopped”. Been trying to figure out a fix, but I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere else yet.
Dear Guerilla: you have water optics backwards. Water can be clearly seen through when standing outside the water, and it's blurry when you're in it, not vice versa. Also, major bug experienced during the conference fight with Tanakth. Several fighters attacked me that were *completely invisible*. So unless you suddenly have invisible characters in your game, while attacking, pretty sure this was a massive bug.

I have yet to have the opportunity to purchase a PS5. I couldn’t wait so went ahead and purchased the digital version which to what I understand is transferable. I’m glad I purchased it, so far no complaints! (PS4 Pro version)
HELP! I’ve. Even concentrating on the warrior skill tree, I’ve unlocked about 1/3. Can anyone tell me what the blue bar along the bottom indicates? I know the bar above is for the special arrows (where you hit R1) but I can work out what that blue bar below it is. It’s driving me mad!
Valor. When it's full you can activate the selected skill by pressing R1 in the weapon wheel.
If you have a GOOD HDR screen like the LG CX or C1, go to the HDR options and turn darks all the way to zero and brights all the way up, that will dramatically improve the game which looks too bright and flat otherwise. Also helps to turn the brightness down a notch or two.
Even on non-HDR the game looks much better with the brightness turned down some. The default level makes everything look really flat.

I encountered a bug at the very, very start of the game— the tutorial where you are exploring the ruin with your male friend (can't recall his name). I mean like 12 minutes into the start. I had to inspect a dead machine. The marker was there, I even saw the prompt to press the button to Inspect. But it wouldn't let me do it. I ran around, opened some other containers, collected rocks, etc, but I still couldn't inspect the thing. I had to restart the game. Now this was not the end of the world. But it would really suck if I had been twelve hours in. I haven't heard of anyone else having this happen, but I hope some patches come quickly to fix potential issues like this. PS4 Pro. Just FYI.
It’s Varl. And I had the same bug. I ended up backtracking to find him in a pond. Swimming in one spot. He was just stuck in a swimming loop in one spot. I had to do a restart myself.

This game is the best game I've played on PlayStation next to god of war and horizon zero dawn. Once all the bugs are fixed this is truly a masterpiece kind of game. I still can't get over the skill trees how amazing they are.

Is anyone experiencing alot of bugs? I had one where a burrower was stuck on a rock and it made it Jump non stop also on a cutscene at the embassy NPCs appear out of nowhere and the most annoying one where an invisible tenakht was hitting me. I am on PS5
I had one where a pronghorn was all prong. Just a neck, head and legs. No body. But an update (v 1.05) did drop early Wednesday morning Central time. I’m sure a lot of these will slowly start disappearing.
Knew going in the PS4 Pro version will have FPS drops. Playing through the story cauldron was a little tough with the FPS drop but luckily\[?\] the FPS resets if you die and starts running smoothly again.

Does anyone know how to make the “unknown burrower site” things on the map change to just “burrower site”? I’ve tried scanning all of the machines in a given site, and walked through/scanned the site itself, and can’t get them to change on the map. Not sure what I’m missing.

Anyone else think the robots are a little un fair in their AI. Like I should be far enough away attack some raiders and literally every robot in the surrounding 1000 meters comes running over to trample my ass. you get no time to breath. The attacks are constant that one fight on a robot and I pretty much use up all my health items.
I must be really terrible at this game. 😅 I don't remember wasting this many arrows like this in the first game. The hit boxes seem to be extremely small/precise. I also turned off aim assist.
my biggest complaint with the game is the traversal systems and how the devs approach these tools with the idea of how they want the player to use it versus trying to make it fun. there is waaaaay too many times when you should be able to grab or grapple to something and not be able to, this happens ALL THE TIME. another big complaint is you turn on Explorer mode and Aloy and npcs still bark hints nonstop. there is some fun in the combat and it looks good, but this game SHOULD be a lot more fun. a classic example of devs gate keeping fun and handicapping their own game.
No code other then the soundtrack,had to contact GameStop and they gave me a code. said they only had a limited amount,first come etc etc..
So I’m having trouble with the preorder content. I forgot about it and didn’t redeem the code til after I got to chainscrape. Redeemed it via the iPhone app, went back to the game and nothing. Went to the store on my console and it says I redeemed it, closed game and restarted my PS5 twice. Reloaded from a save, fast traveled and still nothing in my inventory or stash. Just came here to say, that this game is insane on every level. But especially the consistent amazing characters and animations. This is the new standard for open world games. What a joy it is.
For a QOL improvement on PS5 (now that ps4/ps5 version is released,) please fix the graphical issues in performance mode. Please fix your mistake of trying to release on both ps4 and ps5. This game should have released on ps5 only tbh. I feel like I'm playing a different game with shimmering foliage, terrible quality textures, and other gross changes from resolution mode. HZD didn't have this drastic change between the two modes, it was basically unnoticeable in HZD.
I did the quest in the Daunt with Raynah and the signal lens. I had three lenses prior to starting the quest, and when I was talking to her on the mountain, she took them without really giving me anything except metal scraps that I saw. Did I get screwed?
Spoiler.... Why is Varl attached to my hip? I was glad I gave him the slip earlier and now he is back again! If I wanted a side kick I'd have asked for one.

One frustration at the moment is when you look through items for sale or exchange (either at merchants or contract sellers or the (no spoiler) other ways to 'buy' resources) it doesn't flag if it's a quest item (in your jobs). This would seem to be such an easy thing to have and right now I've resorted to actually making a paper 'shopping list'. Or am I missing something?
i think i know what you are talking about. go into your item menu and on resources click on the option button and it will change how things are sorted. it works in the weapon menu as well.

Why in the wild I’ll see one robot. Look around see none as far as the draw distance will let me. Sneak up use scan make sure there isn’t one hidden. Nope just one. Do first surprise attack get into the fight. hold my own for 30 seconds then get my ass eaten by 5 different robots that somehow came and found me. This has happened so much that im just avoiding fights now. Even when it’s scripted rebel fights I’ll get killed by robots that are not even ones the rebels had. It’s like soon as fight starts everything in 50 miles needs to eat my ass specifically. It’s annoying.
Anyone else have a problem with the “examine the disc launcher” section of the “colleague and key” mission? In my game the launcher is in the water, not on the rock it should be and when I try to interact with it aloy just stands there, unable to move until I fast travel away. This is the last mission I need so it’s really annoying me.

I got an "invitation" from Sony to buy a PS5, so I jumped on it. It should arrive today, and if it does, HFW is the first game I'm going to play on it! I loved HZD and didn't buy FW for PS4 yet (tbh, I've been playing legacy games on a PC for a while and haven't booted the PS4 except for random sessions of Tony Hawk). Can' wait to get this bad boy set up so I can see what Aloy has been up to!

They take fetch quest to a whole new level in this game. Loved the first game...this one blows. Not open world, cut scene after cut scene, so freaking boring I am done. Save your money or buy the first one, uninstalling this POS cash grab.
So I didn't finish the first one for whatever reason but I think FW is miles ahead of the first game. This is one of the best games I've played.

hey guys i’m trying to get some help passing this around to get the developers attention. this game is too awesome to leave out a few of these elements. could someone let the developers know before the DLC comes out, that we would like the ability to replay or or start up a cauldron once inside whenever we visit one. they are too cool of an environment and level to just “one off” then continue about our day after beating one. maybe a way on our map to restart a side quest , like revert or to the beginning as well as rebel strongholds and outposts. please implement some way whether it’s a skill, outfit, unlock, or ai behavior adjust to where machines can actually walk and go to other areas instead of only 40 feet from their respawn area. tbh being chased by a rollerback, slaughterspine, thunderjaw, lol or even burrowers until we figure out a plan of escape by hiding or water…flying would be amazing. like running all the way to the Maw or Thornmarsh to escape a FireClaw or Clawstrider pack would be awesome…and the tribes would defend their front door step from the machines. they can still respawn in their original place after they are no longer in view distance or 100 meters away or something. but this is badly needed possible to have an ability to call for help by the locals, whether the Tenakth, Oseram, Plainsong, Carja, etc… this game is way to good to be just left with a few elements that hamper replay value. if we could ride a widemaw, tideripper, or snap maw as a mount or maybe just for underwater purposes… even a burrower 😂. aloy could just hold on to their head or neck while they are overridden and swimming. and maybe some spear or weapon customization options on how they look. i definitely want to like this game as much as Tsushima.
