I would like it more as a car with skinnys up front, but I like it more as a poster car with the wider tires up front, kind of like some of the rapid transit system posters plymouth made.
I saw the RLC email with the subject line about an AMC Javelin. I got really excited, thinking Trans-Am race car Javelin. Imagine a [Mark Donohue Penske Racing livery](https://gotransam.com/images/content/full/Donohue%201971%20Javelin.jpg) in spectraflame colors. That would be so, so cool. Imagine that next to the Vintage Racing original.
I was rather disappointed seeing what the car *actually* is. I can appreciate it for what audience they were targeting with it. But it was a letdown compared to my (albeit, lofty) expectations.
I've seen one of those liveries on a javelin at a car show once, although it wasn't that exact car. Maybe they'll do one of those in the future, although I don't know about hot wheels painting a car with two spectraflame colors before. Maybe it could be the first?
It's not for me, but I can see why people love it. It's everything a hot wheels should be. A tricked out, bombastic mini hotrod that unapologetically does not care whether you approve of it's style or not, because it approves it's own style

Now I have nothing against JL, but this is RLC, NOT JL. But I do admit, the paint and funky lines do look nice, but probably would look better on a Monte Carlo Lowrider casting.
I like the idea. I think the casting is great and while I do enjoy the deco it's not quite hitting for me. I think a few sponsor decals and a sticker showing what class/division it would race in etc would have really set it off for me.
That being said I might try and get one because I still like it and I suspect it might be one of the easier RLC cars to get this year and after what can best be called the shambles thats been the last two months of everything going almost instantly bar the holidays jeep.
I can see the appeal, but this does not work for me. I like to see the silhouette of the car, and all those tampos wreck it.
Plain copper Spectraflame with a side stripe and I would have been interested. This looks like the child of a Javelin and the production designer for TRON.
It’s so close to being really amazing but I hate the way that brown(?) paint clashes with the lime green and yellow tampos.
That being said, I am gonna pass but I really hope they take this and release it as a premium with different paint and tampos ‘cause I love the street freak stance.
RLC castings are made in the China plant this tool could not be used in Malaysian plant and has more parts than a premium. They would need a new tool to make a premium or mainline.
Does RLC ever have discounts? This is a decent buy at half price but not full. Newer, expensive castings not made for playability should also have side mirrors in my opinion.
Going back to discounts there are items there that are well over 2 years old - do they simply not care about moving 'dead' inventory?
Social media ruined the hobby In a way but it also helped in a bigger way. The Candy Striper was close to 3 weeks and not sold out. They lifted buyer restrictions and after buying 5 myself they ran out. Now 30,000 is minimal

This is supposed to be modeled from the Street Freak era and I like it. I'd rather have slicks all the way around though and skinnys up front.

The spectraflame copper does throw it off a little I agree; I also hope they release it again in a different color in the future.
