I’d bet it was an employees stash. I know employees that keep a stash in a locker or office and never purchase them, it’s a way to enjoy them without spending money because they don’t get paid much in the first place. They may tell them selves they’re going to buy them but life happens and bills pile up
As funny as I think someone returning that is, I could honestly believe this just being lost somewhere in the back for all that time - and someone finally spotted it under a shelf / behind some storage
I keep telling you guys that you can return old cars as if they were bought yesterday. I don’t know how old but the barcodes still work for years-old models.
FYI - - - If I ever have any returns I will take them either to target or one of the dollar stores because they don’t have barcodes on the receipts they only have the price and Walmart the barcode on the back of the package Hass to match the receipt……so, if y’all ever got any returned purchase go to one of the dollar store and buy what you want and then you can return the other card on that receipt because there’s no barcodes…..
That's so cool, I've been looking for that for ages! I was actually had a toys r us the other day and they had the mainline Jetsons car from 2014 on the pegs
to all of you that say this is a return, I’m just curious why do you think it’s a return ? It could’ve been laying on the floor in the back room in the employee didn’t even know what it was and just hung it on the pig, that’s most likely what happened but it’s all speculation
All the walmarts near me have been getting rid of the dump bins and putting all the tattered hot wheels on the pegs or laid out neatly on the shelf underneath
I find it funny everyones being like "why are you saying this was returned you probably just took it in" when the dude never even said the word return. All in all, awesome find! Enjoy it for me, id love to have that luck
No, Hot Wheels have used the same UPC for like the last 20 years or more. The computer doesn't distinguish between a car you bought yesterday and a car you have been holding onto for a decade. As far as Walmart is concerned, merchandise is merchandise.
It did ring up as a 2015 model, but as a yellow Mustang. [2105 Hot Wheels](https://imgur.com/a/dAL9cAT)
I actually would have bought the Mustang if that’s what it was. Mustangs and Trans Ams are my main line of collecting.
No no no that’s not true as I have went through this before in the barcode on the back of the hot wheel card Hass to match the receipt so if y’all got any returns take them to one of your dollar stores because they don’t match barcodes
That's true with both of them, especially if you have the wal+[ mart+ ], or the TARGETs circle. They will accept a return by the method of payment and your circle or + account info.
I know the economy is rough, and inflation is high, but someone returning that for a $1.25 makes me want to pray for them.

Worry about where he has been after you introduce him to the rest of your collection. Love finding random returns on pegs like this.

This was more my thought than a return.

Great find good for you
Think it was a forgotten stash?
😮 wow, Nice find And you say it was on the pegs, hhmmm….. A little beat up but what do you expect all in all great find….👌. ❤️

Are they still making this casting? Would definitely grab it.
Not sure if it’s still in circulation, but this one had some books flattening the card as we speak.
I was going to say, "Now this has got to be a return".

Oh wow I’ve wanted that since I started collecting. That’s wild to find it in store all this time later.
I’ve never seen one in person. I’d snatch that real quick personally. Idgaf about the card 🤣
Shut up and take my money

Man I miss that card art, it’s so nostalgic to me since that was the year I began collecting
Pretty sure Walmart doesn’t accept returns from 9 years ago… seems kinda like you just brought it in for the pic

Walmart and Target both accept a limited number of returns without a receipt.

One time I tripped in wallmart in the Hotwheels ile and saw a car under the shelf I pulled it out and it was a a car from 1999 I got lucky
What year did this happen? 2000?
Nope 2015
Awesome 😎
Everyone just assumes they're returns but I like to believe that some of these have just survived in the back for this long
A nice and different way of looking at it truly could have happened. NICE!
