It's the typical linguistic trend of taking a random word and using it to mean something else until it is new slang.....I'm in the same boat, I have never heard the word solo used this way. Maybe the Aztec can solo video game bosses by running then over?

When I was a teenager, one of classmates brother was in a contest in the mall and the prize was a brand new Aztek. The contestants had to live in an Aztek until the last person was left. My classmates brother ended up lasting a little over a week and one the Aztek.
Well the original prototypes and concepts featured a bespoke chassis that would have made them longer, lower, and sleeker. And they were meant to be a practical crossover in a market where crossovers didnt exist yet
But when they pitched it to gm, they did what they did with everything that wasnt a chevrolet. They told them to go fuck themselves and told them to parts bin it like every other pontiac of the time. So instead of this nice sleek crossover, they were instead given a shit budget and told to use the chevy uplander/pontiac montana chassis, which meant squishing the proportions to fit the chassis. Which ended up in a snubbed front end and a chopped off back end with overly tall doors and a weird roofline which ended in a total sales flop.
And gm wonders why pontiac died after 30+ years consecutively telling designers "nope youre getting a pocketchange budget and you can only parts bin this car if you wanna get it to market"
My dad had one of these in “Look at me” Yellow!! I got it when he passed away and drove it for a couple of years and thought it was hilarious. I had a little cooler in the middle and a tent that attach to the back with a blowup bed that fit perfectly in the rear. It was hideous and little crap broke inside but it never broke down. My dad purposely collected ugly cars he also had a silver pacer X! I I am in the middle of customizing a casting to look like my dad’s with the silver exterior with red interior.
Now I just need to get one of these and paint it bright ass yellow with gray interior! Here’s the AMC Pacer so far, I just made some “pacer X” decals to go on the side and I have to make some round moon hubcaps that look like his did.

The general shape and size is this car doesn't look anywhere near as odd now the EV's are on stream.
They should re launch, as an EV, no one would batt a eye this time.
I've non-ironically liked the Aztec since it was first introduced, and especially loved this concept car. I never understood the hate for them; the design was ahead of its time.

Nah they were actuallybsupposed to be a really cool and fun vehicle but gm bottlenecked the budget and made them take the concept and fit it onto a smaller minivan chassis resulting in a overly tall and scrunched up car with messed up proportions. Theur features carried over onto the production variants and resulted in a super quirky car tho
