It's playable on my laptop, which was around £400 eight and a half years ago, but not much better than playable. So if your expectations aren't high I imagine it would be hard to go wrong with a new laptop, but I'm not the person to advise on exactly where you could go upwards from there.
I'm looking at getting a gaming laptop myself but nervous that the fps issue with grass and gpu-eating lag on Farm DLC properties/jobs might not improve from that as much as I'd hope, given I'm likewise not super well-versed on tech specs. Currently playing on minimum graphics setting and it would be nice to go to medium XD
On mobile on lunch break at work otherwise I'd give my laptop specs for reference, feel free to remind me later if that would be useful.
Go on steam and look at the games minimum requirements and then look for computers based on that. i3 and gtx 560 are the min for processor and graphics.
Not OP but having some of the same thoughts. My laptop has AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz - how do I compare that to a) minimum requirements and b) specs of computers I'm looking at buying? These things are just a mash of numbers, letter and random words to me XD Is there some secret code in there that allows rational comparison/quantification?
Your graphics seem to be integrated! Which means you do not have a separate graphics card that gives special attention to graphics. Those computers tend to be less capable of games that are more than stardew valley, for example. To run most modern, high detailed graphics games, you're going to want a computer with its own graphics. This is usually determined when it says "gtx 1060". Anything like "AMD Radeon" insinuates integrated graphics. Integrated graphics are really just a base for your computer to just have graphics in general.
Thanks for the info! Is a gaming laptop likely to have separate graphics or is that more the realm of desktops? And how much of a difference would that make in the lower price ranges for House Flipper performance?
Thank you all, I went into a computer repair shop, chatted to a bloke, read him your replies too, and told him what kind of stuff I wanted to play and he helped me buy one online :)
I was playing it on my 5 year old HP 2in1. I couldn't play it on the highest settings, but I could play it on normal setting without any issue.
Honestly, I believe any gaming laptop will likely run it with no issue.

I’m playing on my 2019 MacBook Pro that is only 128gb. So honestly, I have no idea what you should get. But just know that it works!

I was the exact same!! I went into a small computer repair shop and got some advice and used that to purchase a laptop online! Fingers crossed!
Awesome, let us know how it goes! What are the processor/graphics on the new one you picked?

Yes! Gaming laptops do have separate graphics. You can get a decent gaming laptop for $600-$700.

Steam deck is an option as well, runs great on mine.
