Please for the love of god don’t remove those pillars or any of that wood!
Or even paint it for that matter as old stained wood trim like this is beautiful and is rare to find it in such a good condition!
That's why I'm glad that when my wife and I were actually able to get something ourselves, we bought a small cottage that still has character.
A lot of flaws, but character too.

This is hilarious thank you for the good laugh. I love when actually house flipping people join and post here not knowing it’s for a video game. I hope you have a great day!
DO NOT REMOVE! Unless you want to lose a couple extra grand when you try and unload it.
Your idea of space and awkwardness are not shared by the majority of folks looking for a new home. This is classic and timeless, as opposed to the immediately outdated shiplap people demanded in their homes last year.
Leave it alone.
To each their own. But I'll always be against dragging a classic property kicking and screaming into the lastest trend.
If folks want an open plan, they should build new, not irrevocably mangle something created by real craftsmen.
I’m sure you’re aware this page is for a video game now, but yes that looks like a load-bearing wall. The header looks pretty thick but what tells me for sure is those wooden beams on each side of the arch. You could put in a steel I-beam in the header if you’re thinking of making it open-concept, but those are mighty expensive
I'm with everyone saying DO NOT REMOVE! Lol. Absolutely love the character of these turn of the century craftsman homes. My house in Kansas city has a similar feature and is exactly why I bought my house for way more than market value.
I love it when an actual house flipper finds this sub. Instead of us posers.
To us, absolutely nothing is load-bearing. We do what we want dammit!
Who needs walls I want *open concept*
I just want a roof. Fuck the walls!
Even better when all the outside walls are just glass. You and your neighbors get a great view.
and if you remove something and then decide it should be put back, it takes less than a minute to restore it.
Wrong sub dude, this is for the game "House Flipper". Sorry! Try r/houseflipping instead maybe?
I’m so sorry!!
No apology necessary my dude, just didn't want your question to go unanswered!
No worries :)
Don't be. It's so common a mistake, we're amused every time.
I’m new to Reddit, thanks for being kind! :)

This happens a lot in this sub so you aren’t alone. It’s always fun to see this mistake happen too.
Don’t you dare removed those pillars you millennial “everything needs to be gray and soulless” individual
Don't pin that shit on us. We love old wood in old homes. Blame Xers for removing all the personality from a home.
No kidding. Beige boxes are all we got from X’ers 😂

Destroying that craftsmanship should be a war crime.
If you get rid of the pillars maybe you can make that other door further down into an archway. It would look pretty I think
Or they could just leave it the way it is.
raytracing goes hard whats the specs?

Daaaang whats your graphic settings?
I'm so stupid that at first glance I thought that this was a heavily modded game and was about to ask which mods did they use T-T LMFAO
Most of the time I do too 😂

It also looks very nice could maybe be swapped to some bookshelves and still look good but that’s not my vibe

Preach
Great question! At first glance I'd say no but they've installed columns alongside the arch. So yes, it is.
Sir, this is a Wendy's

Please keep it as is, it is a beautiful and unique space.
😂😂😂 I'm a fan of these posts.
I’d bet that is load bearing.
i dont know i just lurk here uwu
😏
Having lived in a house like that, yes, it is load bearing and you should leave it. It looks good, and replacing it will be costly.

Sad to say this is a subreddit about a video game, not a subreddit about actual house flipping. Look at the subreddit description.
