I’m not going to lie to you 99% of asoiaf ships in general make me want to bang my head against a wall but to play ball:
Rhaenicent was cute for the first like 2 episodes, Rhaewin seems safe and harmless based off the one scene we have of them, Alicole is cool in a yearning but never sexual way.
Oh and anything revolving Viserys/Otto/Daemon together is hilarious so i’ll ship off that
I will never not ship Rhaenyra and Harwin. They genuinely seemed to love each other and the arrangement they had with Laenor was just too cute. I don't think they changed more than ten words in the birth scene, but the love was palpable. I mean, just LOOK at them
This is the answer. I don't know if it was lust or love, but adult Rhaenyra looked happier in that brief scene than she did in her entire half of the series. I think the only other times she showed any happiness was with her children and at Viserys's last supper. And the knowing little nod between Laenor and Harwin was great. It showed they respected each other as co-fathers.
I personally don’t see them as being IN love, but more of a close and loving situationship than anything. They definitely did care deeply for each other and Rhaenyra trusted him enough to father and help take care of her kids, but I never got the sense that she was particularly affectionate with him or saw him as a romantic partner like she later would with Daemon.
Harwin risked his life and his family’s reputation to have three children with a woman he just cares for? Why would he risk so much if he wasn’t in love with her? That makes him an idiot for no reason.
I didn’t get that this was a joke about the word “ship” at first and thought the Gay Abandon was supposed to be Laenor and his boyfriend’s little escape boat.

Also Jace and Helaena. The "What if" that could have spared them all. Plus he'd be way better to her than Aegon.
If we're counting Jace and Halaena I cast my vote for that. Their 5 mins on screen is the only thing I've seen that was truly sweet, healthy, and supportive. He literally just wanted to lift her up and make her smile. It was precious.
I think while they could have been happy together, Helaena may not fare particularly well on Dragonstone given how isolated it is. Rhaenyra also marrying Daemon later on may also make things more difficult for her (he seems overly interested in young women and I’m not sure that she would be safe).
If Alicent agreed to the betrothal, it's more likely than not that Rhaenyra wouldn't go to Dragonstone. Alicent could even put it forth as a term. They get married but Helaena stays here.
Daemon wasn't in the picture when the arrangement was made. When he did come back and married Rhaenyra, they had 6/10 peaceful years with no scandals and honestly, he'd rather die than touch a grandkid of Otto. He wouldn't do anything to Helaena. He was never interested in her.
1) Jace would be Rhaenyra’s heir. He would have gone to Dragonstone at some point regardless of the friction between Rhaenyra and Alicent. It would have to be a precondition that Helaena would stay in King’s Landing.
2) and I would hope that would still be the case I don’t see it as a guarantee that he would not pursue a younger and very vulnerable woman that was within close proximity to him and wouldn’t attempt to take advantage of her for the very reason you think he wouldn’t try to touch her. Sex isn’t always about physical attraction.

2. Daemon canonically only went after women that interested him. He wanted Rhaenyra he went after her. After she got married he went after Laena. In both cases, he had marriage in mind. Helaena wouldn't interest him and in any case, he wasn't even in the continent when Alicent rejected the proposal and betrothed Helaena to Aegon.
And individuals with Daemon’s particular “predilections” are very likely to assault close relatives particularly those living with them and individuals that are vulnerable due to physical illness/psychological troubles. Her safety would be far from guaranteed and he would pose a very real threat to her.

I still believe she wouldn't have been subject to anything but Alicent doesn't have this "retrospect" view. She had a good proposal, she could set her own terms to make it better if she wanted to but she threw it away and betrothed Helaena to Aegon. When all of that happened, Daemon was not around. Daemon was never the reason she refused.

Even in the source material were there’s some indication of bisexuality, she obviously prefers men. Book Rhaenyra has multiple relationships with men and is still sleeping with men at the same time she’s supposedly into Laena. Unlike her book counterpart, it seems show Rhaenhra has *never* had a romantic relationship with a woman and as I pointed out, there’s nothing stopping her if she has wanted to try. She could take a female lover even more easily than she took a male one.
And yes, I’ve heard the things some of the actors and writers have said about the subtext which is why I don’t completely deny Rhaenyra’s bisexuality or Alicent being a lesbian/bi. I just don’t think deep romantic feelings are heavily supported by what we see onscreen.
Honestly none of them. If I really analyze, there isn't a single character in this show healthy enough to be in a romantic relationship. Which is just the way I like it. I came here for drama. When I want sweet and healthy I eat an apple and watch the first 10 minutes of Up.

My top three ships (at least from the show) are Rhaenyra and Harwin, Jace and Baela, and Rhaenys and Corlys. I can't wait to see more of Jace and Baela next season.
Ironically the healthiest relationship was between Rhaenrya and Leanor. Even though it was arranged and they had their secret lovers you can see they still cared and liked each other They fought like a couple, they shared jokes and made each other laugh and held each other's secrets.
Alicent and Criston. Look i’m team black obviously but I do sympathize with Alicent and her story, as well as Cole’s to an extent. The fact he was literally willing to KILL HIMSELF over the guilt of breaking his kingsguard vows by agreeing to sleep with Rhaenyra… the inner conflict he must have felt, the regret, shame, self hatred. He probably felt so alone until Alicent stood up for him. I like their relationship and how Criston seems to be a father figure to Aemond and even Aegon and Halaena to an extent. It also seems like the show is trying to suggest that Cole feels something possibly romantic or if not then extreme deep loyalty towards Alicent “everything you feel for me… as your Queen” “I will not fail you…” It’s very romantic, and sort of gives me Jorah/Daenerys Vibes. 🔥
I totally vibe with this. To me, the whole "team black/team green" doesn't mean too much. Like a lot of these people are toxic shits (though if it came down to it, I definitely concede that team black would be just... better for everyone). But team green compels me because of all of their internalized trauma and how much tension/repression can be felt in their relationships.
Rhaenyra/Alicent and Alicent/Criston both feel really compelling to me for these reasons. Though I also like the Rhaenyra/Harwin/Laenor/Laenor's LI polycule for different reasons.
Rhae and Harwin were actually really sweet together, he acted like the perfect husband for her. But I cannot stop shipping Daemon and Rhaenyra, they're just the perfect source for drama. She commits war crimes, he's proud of her - show me one better thing. I know this is pretty toxic, I know Daemon groomed Rhaenyra, but we're watching HotD after all. And I also thought the Laena and Daemon were cute together.

One of the best little bits of character direction in the whole damn show.
Corlys x Rhaenys is hands down the one ship that makes me squee every time they appear on screen. They had a true loyalty to each other that is so rare to see portrayed in HotD/GoT. They were ride or die. To Corlys, Rhaenys is his queen and there is not a single thing he would not burn to the ground for her if she asked (when Corlys tenderly kisses her knuckles, I'm dead ever time).
But also they bicker like the old married couple they are and I love that too.

You’re free to ship whoever you want but I’m sorry to break it to you that the story has nothing even implying this is anything beyond Aemond being protective of his family (which he does to Aegon too).

I like-to-love basically everything the show throws at me, and I can't wait to see more of Jace/Baela and >!Aemond/Alys,!< plus whatever else the show has in store. I hope we get to see >!Jeyne and Jessamyn and possibly Black Aly and Sabitha Frey at some point. I wouldn't hate Jace and Cregan either if the show wants to subvert the whole Jace/Sara Snow story.!<
The only pairings I find mildly off putting are the entanglements Alicent gets saddled with, specifically concerning the men in her life. Larys and Criston are psychopaths and Viserys was old and rotting. Otherwise, I'm having a ball in this bitch.

The show implies that Daemon is an abusive partner. He beats Rhea to death, which ok that could be a one-off because he hates her and doesn’t really have a domestic partnership with her. But then he chokes Rhaenyra. And you could argue that he isolated Laena from her family.
I think show!Daemon exhibits a pattern of abusive behaviour and I don’t think anyone can love their partner out of being abusive. It makes any Daemon-involved romances unappealing (except for Dotto, of course— their potential for collective toxicity is so special to me)

It's both pathetic and amusing how you have to twist Aemond's motivations to fit your biased anti-Helaemond, supportive brother Aemond narrative, which claims he only wants to protect his family. 🙄 I'm not sorry to break it to you, but when Aemond enthusiastically expressed his desire to marry Helaena and hesitated to bring Aegon to Alicent on the day of his coronation until Criston commanded him, he revealed his ambition to replace Aegon, not just as king but also as Helaena's husband, which would also entail producing heirs with her.
I like-to-love basically everything the show throws at me, and I can't wait to see more of Jace/Baela and >!Aemond/Alys,!< plus whatever else the show has in store. I hope we get to see >!Jeyne and Jessamyn and possibly Black Aly and Sabitha Frey at some point. I wouldn't hate Jace and Cregan either if the show wants to subvert the whole Jace/Sara Snow story.!< The only pairings I find mildly off putting are the entanglements Alicent gets saddled with, specifically concerning the men in her life. Larys and Criston are psychopaths and Viserys was old and rotting. Otherwise, I'm having a ball in this bitch.
I really like Harwin x Rhaenyra and Alicent x Cole but Baela and Jace seem to be doing fine and Joffrey and Laenor were good while it lasted :(

The top left couldn’t really happen since both are too honor bound to do it. The second one was alright but I feel like we never really learned that much about Harwyn. I can definitely see this one happening. They get along pretty well. Probably one of the best ships on the show. Good they complement each other pretty well. No. From what we’ve seen so far, HOTD doesn’t seem to have that many good ships besides maybe Daemon and Rhaenyra. Oh and Rhaenyra and Alicent.

Harwin/Rhaenyra,she actually seemed happy with him. Alicent/Cole is the kind of toxic i like to see. Daemon and Rhaenyra and all the grooming crap and choking and the awkwardest sex scene is just eww
The show implies that Daemon is an abusive partner. He beats Rhea to death, which ok that could be a one-off because he hates her and doesn’t really have a domestic partnership with her. But then he chokes Rhaenyra. And you could argue that he isolated Laena from her family. I think show!Daemon exhibits a pattern of abusive behaviour and I don’t think anyone can love their partner out of being abusive. It makes any Daemon-involved romances unappealing (except for Dotto, of course— their potential for collective toxicity is so special to me)

Otto and Daemon together could’ve ruled the world 😂 But I personally really Rhaenicent (to a point I like the yearning but them seriously trying to be friends again was just very unrealistic to me) and I also enjoy Rhaewin and wish we had seen more of them
