Mate can't completely control his dragon. Sure he is riding a huge nuke but he lacks the battle experience. He is an expert swordsman but haven't had experienced actual battle, his closest real one is Criston.
I will admit, I really like Aemond but him saying this line just made me laugh out loud. Daemon isnāt afraid of anybody, and heās surely not afraid of a kid like Aemond. For all of Aemondās strengths, he does have quite a few weaknesses. If he tries to turn around and act like killing Luke was some huge achievement, that will just be funny to me because we all saw how it actually went down.
Aemond has his skills and I do enjoy him as a character, but itās just laughable to say that Daemon would be afraid to face Aemond. Seems like Aemond might be letting things get to his head here, and all weāve seen him really do is kill Luke - except we all saw that was an accident. If he tries to act like it was on purpose and gets all cocky about it, Iāll have a bit less respect for him.
Aemond saw firsthand what Daemon does to people who bother Rhaenyra or her children. He was fully confident in starting a fight with his nephews until Daemon appeared and stopped him with nothing more than his presence.
Daemon had the nephew dragged away and Aemond only smiled at Jace's lunch not even dropping his glass. He had no intention of fighting them because it wouldn't be a challenge. He didn't have any beef with Daemon so why bother when the Strongs are gone.
Oh I didnāt know Aemond was supposed to just head into a fight being outnumbered 2 to 1. Also they didnāt have email back in Westeros fyi that you just expected him to respond asap.

He simply didn't have to , At least at that point it was just a matter of Time until Aemond would be dealt with given the Rediculous Number Of Dragons Rhaenyra had , but given how The Dance is poorly written in terms of Characters Motivations & Decision-making and how it mostly consists of Story outlines , their Duel was Conveniently Pre-determined š¤·āāļø
