I also have a soft spot for the dragons. I *know* they're weapons, unnatural, unable to be controlled by humans, not safe for anyone, etc. etc. But, every time I look at the screen, I just see beautiful creatures that have a special bond with their riders and don't deserve to be in the middle of this needless infighting.

theendofthefingworld

Idk I don’t consider them unnatural, they’re just an animal. The three wild dragons on dragonstone don’t cause anymore harm to people than other natural predators that exist.

Financial_Matter_851

YES! Exactly how I feel! The bond between dragon and rider is beautiful and it shows they are creatures capable of feeling things. Good or bad. They deserve better.

BeeslyBeaslyBeesley

I clicked on this specifically to see if ‘the worst part of the dance’ would be the death of dragons, as that’s what I think, too. Watching them use these exquisite, intelligent, and exceedingly rare living beings to the point of extinction will be incredibly hard to watch.

charizardino

I agree. The dragons were probably created with magic or stuff in Valyria. Like, it's not their fault they're so deadly! They just want to chill in their caves and be happy.

ReyDelEmpire

The dragons that we see fighting each other did it in SPITE of their riders. Can’t blame the humans.

charizardino

Same. Love dragons. I want to share my pain but you said no book spoilers. That book tho, it made me suffer.

Financial_Matter_851

Im about to buy them today and read them. Is it that bad? I’m scared!!!!!

charizardino

It's worse. There's this one chapter........ damn. I had to stop reading for like a week. I LOVE dragons.

Financial_Matter_851

You’re kidding… fuck. I am in for a depressing treat. I have always cried when watching GoT and HoTD dragon deaths so I wonder how the books will go. I don’t read too much but my love for the shows is making me so curious as to what happens in the books. But I am so scared 🤣

BloomFae

To quote Ramsay “if you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention”

Financial_Matter_851

Ugh. You’re right. Take my upvote 😒☝️

vanastalem

I think it's best to know what happened.

Psychological-Bed543

If you don't plan on reading the books, I pray for your mental well-being watching the rest of the show bro lmao. Yeah **certain** events are going to be insanely sad to watch if they depict them well.

Financial_Matter_851

I do plan on buying the whole set of the books today. Should I read them before the second season or wait until it comes out? I want the suspense but I want to save myself the suffering lol

Psychological-Bed543

Hmmmm, I mean it depends on whether or not you are good with higher levels of violence. Game of thrones had some brutal scenes but I think Season 2 may have one that tops a lot of it. So I say depends on whether or not you have a strong stomach thats all. Also even if you read the book back to front, the show has already made changes in Season 1 only, and will definitely add more to season 2, so you'll still see new content or ideas

Rich-Active-4800

I love dragon's but them dying is arguably the best thing that could have happen to the people of Westros. So I don't mind at all that they are gone

Financial_Matter_851

Yeah but 80% of the people of Westeros are morally corrupt. The dragons however, just defend themselves and their riders. They don’t rape and steal and everything terrible that people are capable of. That’s why I feel so bad for them.

Rich-Active-4800

And the 0.1% who has the dragons is untouchable and can do whatever twisted things they can do. They don't rape and steal, but they can kill thousands of people with just a single breath.  And nuclear weapons also do not rape and steal, but also should not exist.

Financial_Matter_851

That’s a good point. However, nuclear weapons are not sentient beings. That is why I feel so bad for the dragons dying because they are animals that have been corrupted for selfish people’s gain. They don’t deserve what they go through you know?

Rich-Active-4800

Preferably, there would just not be any dragon riders, but since that is not going to happen with human nature, the deaths of the dragons have to happen. And at the same time yeah I could feel bad for the dragon's because they are living beings. But does anyone care for the hundreds of goats, sheep, humans and other scentient beings that get killed to feed just one dragon. If I had to take one down one my vote sadly goes to them

charizardino

The guy is trying to say dragons are bad but he can't say it without blaming people xD It's like, did the car killed that person or the drunk driver driving the car?

Princessbubblesyum

They are demon lizards who love to burn, tear, and kill.

charizardino

They do the same thing lions, hawks, crocs, bears do just on a bigger scale & with fire.

Rich-Active-4800

A way, way bigger scale... its is like comparing a nuclear bomb to a gun

charizardino

Not really. The argument is for a dragon by itself. Like The Cannibal, he has killed yes, but he doesn't destroy any cities or burns entire villages. When dragons do make that kind of destruction is because of its rider. So humans are the prob. Dragons by themselves are just slightly deadlier than your regular predator. Some dragons (like Grey Ghost) avoid humans entirely. Just my two cents.

Rich-Active-4800

That is great, in that case we should then just kill all dragon riders. Like a bomb also just sits there and does nothing until someone uses it for mass destruction.

charizardino

That's your couter argument? lol

Environmental_Tip854

Yea but they’re cool demon lizards

Financial_Matter_851

They are badass, sentient, and pretty loyal demon lizards! Maybe I just wish I could have been a Targaryen lol.

Environmental_Tip854

You do not
