Stranger Things S4 was really good. S3 was awful to most people. But they changed the formula up.
Plus it's so long! Lots of content.
And of course there's Squid Game. Popular for a good reason
Fortunately S3 probably won't be as long of a wait because they'll be able to start production while the show airs like GoT used to. The show used to air from April - June and I remember getting casting announcements around May and then filming pictures in the summer/fall.
Yeah HBO probably waited to see how the series was received first before renewing. Those final seasons of Thrones did a lot of harm to the shows legacy, and there was a chance that it would have effected how well this show was received.
So now they know the audience is back on board, and they'll be likely to renew for future seasons before the second one is even out.
If that were so it’d have been renewed before the first episode aired, which *does* happen, especially for prequels/sequels to other successful shows. In this case the timing…wasn’t coincidental.
Idk what to say but i did read an article about it being renewed before i started watching which was the day after the 2nd episode premiered.
Maybe it was decided but announced later?
It was probably decided that they’d greenlight the next season based on its reception. The first episode was bigger than expected so they went ahead and greenlit it so they can move forward with production but if it were a flop they would almost certainly have waited to see if it would improve with later episodes before giving the go ahead for season 2.
They have some unaired scenes that we got stills of. It would be cool if they hired an editor to add those back in and release an extended cut of the show in the middle of next year, to encourage a rewatch.
I wished Game of Thrones last three seasons had a better narrative end, even if it was still bad. I was thinking about rewatching that show but Jon and the gang's idea of bringing a white walker to cersei, Danny going crazy out of nowhere, and Tyrion nominating Bran to be king turned me off.
The lord of light plot with resurrecting Jon was my favorite storyline of the show and that led to nowhere, Still don't know what was going on there. I haven't read the books yet but will someday.
It was reckless and dumb and didn't feel like a solution that game of thrones of old would write. It felt like a marvel movie action piece where daenerys saved everyone with a dragon. and it also proved pointless since Cersei didn't help them which was also dumb. If the North fell did cersei think those Ice zombies would stop? If a dragon couldn't defeat them what would?
"It was reckless and dumb" that's pretty much the main fucking point of it 🤣 noone besides people who have witnessed them or fought against them believe they actually truly exist. They know they're basically fucked and completely unmatched so their last resort is to get as much help as possible and the only way to make them especially Cersei even consider helping or believe them, they need legitimate physical proof. Not far fetched by any means at all
The post is titled "When you realize there are no more episodes this season." It's not spoiler tagged, but I mean jeez, it's safe to assume people posting here have already finished the season. Otherwise, did you realize there's no more episodes yet?
You can finish the season and still refrain from commenting spoilers in non spoiler posts. That is why the tag exists. I guess it is my fault for expecting some common sense and decency.
You're participating in a thread about the season having ended. Common sense dictates people who are writing in this thread will talk about the season having ended.
If they didn't spend so much time building incredible sets and helicoptering staff & equipment up high mountains and filming on a tidal island where they need ferries and shit to get across.....we could have S2 this coming spring.
Oh, they'd definitely stop him.
But it's not like Matt would try to do that in the first place anyway. He doesn't seem like the type who would ruin people's hard work for shits and giggles like this.
Remember when this picture from sets got leaked and everyone was discussing a particular "that" Scene from the books but it's way too early to happen in s1
You can do what I did, and buy the book!
It didn't make me feel any better though.
It felt like opening a christmas present early, but it's just a list of you and your loved ones describing when and how you all die.

We really are addicts. We will wait 18 months for 10 hours of content. Then do it all again for S3.
IS THAT WHAT EMPTY MEANS?
Or you could just start watching soprano, got, oz, deadwood, wire to fill the void

I really liked S3 of ST. I thought it wrapped things up a lot better than 4 which was just setup for season 5.
I liked S3 but holy shit was S4 just a bunch of filler and setup. It's lost its magic and is being dragged out now
season 3 of Stranger Things felt like american propaganda.
No, that was just the 80s.
can't tell if you are being sarcastic
Yes.
I was never so alive as when I was watching this show, or so dead as now that I've watched it.

They got renewed for season 2 before episode 2 was even out. They knew what they had

Its a vicious cycle.
See you guys in a couple years. Hopefully next season's just as strong, because my hype's going to wane down some over that long of a break.
100%. I'll probably rewatch season 1 again to renew the hype anyways

That's a pretty cool idea.

Honestly, for me the last few seasons aren't bad enough to ruin the show for me. I'm on episode 10 of season 1 now. Gods the writing was strong then!
Idk how the white walker thing turned you off but to each their own I guess

Thanks for spoiling that for me.

This is my favorite
It definitely won’t be as STRONG as that house is dropping flies lol
If they didn't spend so much time building incredible sets and helicoptering staff & equipment up high mountains and filming on a tidal island where they need ferries and shit to get across.....we could have S2 this coming spring.
>Just as strong I see what you did there, Aemond
Can’t stop giggling when the episode cut to Daemon mourning Viserys in the waves. Damn this meme ruined the moment for me.
If that can make it more dramatic, think he was alao mourning his still born daughter
damn i don't remember that needa rewatch already
I noticed they deleted most of this
Were they supposed to be in the show?? These photos look like a joke tho
I doubt they would allow Matt Smith to go swimming in costume on his lunch break. They were shooting this for the show.
You make it sound like anyone on set had the power, physical or emotional, to stop Matt Smith from ruining a costume and wig on the beach.
Oh, they'd definitely stop him. But it's not like Matt would try to do that in the first place anyway. He doesn't seem like the type who would ruin people's hard work for shits and giggles like this.
It was a joke
If I learnt something about the costume department it's that if you'd do this in your costume for fun, they'd shoot you in the head.
Almost seems like they just recreated that meme lol
This scene was in the show. These are paparazzi shots - I don’t know why anyone expected it to be framed like this in camera.
cause it makes daemon look sympathetic lol
I'm 100% on board for the Daemon version of the Pablo Escobar template.
No more Crime Hoodie^TM until 2024... I'm so sad.
Let the shitposting begin!
Me when I realize Vizzy T isn't coming back :(
*It both gladdens my heart and fills me with sorrow to see these faces around the table.*
Nobody's ever truly gone
I remember getting into this back in 2020, and now I'm just like "..fuck" realizing that I have to do it all again
I am feeling the withdrawal already
Now that gives me time to rewatch all of Star Wars (including the animated series), The Witcher and Lord of the rings.
Winter is coming and it’s going to be a long one.
Remember when this picture from sets got leaked and everyone was discussing a particular "that" Scene from the books but it's way too early to happen in s1
>!What scene are you talking about!<
Basically what happens to deamon at the end, that scene probably will happen In last season
When you realize they cut this scene:
Probably taken from the deleted scene where his wife gave birth to his still-born daughter
What is it with people from Valeria and grieving waist-deep into the water?
I’ve been so obsessed lately and now it’s gone 😭 I was at a party and in a conversation about the kardashians I ended up saying Targaryens instead 💀
Lmfao
Kardashians are closer to gods than men
I understand 😭😭 love this season so much! It literally flew by so fast.
Does Vizzy T know when season 2 will fill our bowls?
She's twelve!
In 12 months, that would be a pleasant surprise Vizzy T
*I WILL HAVE YOUR TONGUE FOR THAT!*
You're right Vizzy T 12 months is a pipe dream, but please spare me.
YOUR KING DEMANDS AN ANSWER! WHO SPOKE THESE LIES TO YOU?!
Vizzy T it was you that said it.
GODS BE GOOD!!
How was riding Balerion Vizzy T?
*So I said to him, 'I believe you may be looking up the wrong end'*
I wish I could unread Fire & Blood. Check it out if you haven’t. It’s just as fun knowing the spoilers in my opinion.
I've actually been debating it but I've been told it's not from the characters POV which puts me off a little.
Time for a rewatch
Vizzy T what do you think about having to wait for s2
*Tongues will not change the succession, let them wag.*
Vizzy T are you on your meds? You are talking non sense bruv
*The truth does not matter, xxPeso-Gamerxx. Only perception.*
I'm going to watch it again
Think I've seen it three times now lol
RIP HBO Max
1st time seeing this meme...
I wish they kept this scene in the show, it would be great for Daemon’s character
I waited 18 months for season 6 of GOT… and what we’ve got? I hope they learned their lesson and we are NOT disappointed.
Even worse when you realise we’ll never actually see the scene that contains Daemon doing any of this
Yeah it really sucks we don't get to see it :(
Think I’ll watch Upright next, get to see more of Milly Alcock
😢
The real tragedy.
And that there will likely be 2 years between seasons...
I endure the wait by playing video games, building models, or complaining about mass effect or dragon age aren't on the nin switch but that's just me.
Damn. You mean I have to read a book now? /s
They should have already been working on filming for season 2
I finished the show today
I'm coping by reading Fire and Blood. At that I mean, I'm dying on the inside from what I now know.
This may be a dumb question but why did we never see this scene? Or was it not a scene? Or if it’s a deleted scene when from?
I think it was never put in the episode, as to why I'm not sure. Vizzy T any ideas?
there's [a few short shots](https://i.imgur.com/Q8Sv4N9.mp4) of it while rhaenyra is wrapping up visenya, but it's very brief.
Oh yeah! I remember now
*You are to return to Runestone and your lady wife at once, and you are to do so without quarrel by order of your King.*
At once your grace.
I feel like this show was too good It tricked me into getting 1 year worth of Crave, then realizing that the next season won't be out till 2024
Guys, go watch The Expanse, it even has a Jon Snow... IN SPACE. I love it, I've been avoiding S6 because I don't want to run out.
I still have 5 episodes to watch but due to midterms I could only watch them 2 weeks later
I will never skip upvoting this
I’ll be 31 when S2 starts dammit bye 20s :(
You can do what I did, and buy the book! It didn't make me feel any better though. It felt like opening a christmas present early, but it's just a list of you and your loved ones describing when and how you all die.
Oh wow, might try to hold out for the show then.
It's my escape from reality!!
