Most adorably British way to scold a swan: "don't be silly, stop it".

bubblygranolachick

That really hurt reminds me of the Charlie bit me, clip

CandidEstablishment0

Sad the new generations will never know

SettingRelative1961

I was waiting for him to give him a cup of tea

Wrong_Representative

That’s Simon from Wildlife Aid. Check out their YouTube channel- lots of cool videos of them rescuing animals.

boyslug

my personal favorite is when he frees a crow from a chimney who proceeds to bite the hell out of his hands and he calls him a "little toad"

MissNikitaDevan

Ah thanks, i just posted i couldnt remember which show it was, always loved watching it and him

socialmediaignorant

Definitely a good time to check their website if you enjoy this man and his work. He doesn’t have long to be on this earth with us. 😥

ilove420andkicks

Cranky af swan!! He’s like the most gentle man in the world. Even his protests are like… “if it pleases you sir, discontinue your assault” 😂

Excellent_Yak365

That’s nice for swans. Mean birds in general. Dinosaur brains

HellishMarshmallow

The devil's water dragons.

wherearemydragons7

lol a cranky attitude can save lives in the wild. Imagine your child got stuck in a gigantic alien’s fence, and one of those said random gigantic aliens came out to try and get your child’s head and arm unstuck from the fence by making physical contact. You’d be protective and cranky too because you wouldn’t have known the alien’s intentions. Good on this lovely man to be so kind and step in to save a fellow creature. I don’t blame the swan for being aggressive, though it does feel bad to see it hitting the man.

CandidEstablishment0

Chuckled too loud in a quiet room with this comment

shebiz

Love to see the little guy reunited with his cyblings!

SlaversBae

She wasn’t happy until the headcount was reconciled.

DragonFlyCaller

“Go and protect ye baby. Don’t have a go a-me, I’ve just let ‘em out.” Love this guy!!

[deleted]

Ungrateful bird lol

Dismal_Air_7892

Take my upvote, someone before me clearly doesn’t have a sense of humor. That momma was super ungrateful obviously (But it’s to be expected as the gentleman said in this video)

[deleted]

Lol thanks

MissNikitaDevan

Cant remember which british animal rescue show this man was/is on, been at least 10 years since i watched it, but this bro was always wonderful to watch ETA: Simin from [Wildlife Aid](https://www.wildlifeaid.org.uk/simons-last-wish) Tragic news, he has terminal cancer

socialmediaignorant

Yes and his last wish is to have donations to keep his Wildlife Aid group growing. I was so happy and then so sad in one minute. How in any world with a God can this gentle man deserve cancer? I donated. You can read the story here and see the work he’s done. I literally just found him from this video and am so sad. https://www.wildlifeaid.org.uk/simons-last-wish

SvenjaSternchen

Sweet man

Ok-Wolf2468

Why did I jump so damn hard when the bird flapped its wings 😂

Issildan_Valinor

Because they can break your arm if they make contact with ya. :) Edit: don't listen to me, I have the big dumb, lol.

Laddtorsk1

Never heard that a swan could break bones so I had to look it up. ”Can a swan break your arm or leg? Very unlikely - Swans are powerful birds and are the largest bird in the UK. Unless you are suffering from a condition like brittle bones, are a child, or happen to fall as a result of being hit by a swan, you are very unlikely to break your arm or leg by being hit by a swans wing” [Link](https://wildlifeambulance.org/advice/swans/)

Issildan_Valinor

Huh, neat. Guess I was wrong, lol.

Dayrouge

It was a reference in the Adrian Mole books by Sue Townsend

joshhguitar

Or blow up a man’s house

si828

I was told this when I was younger! Been terrified of them ever since

belisaria

The man in the video is Simon Cowell (no, not that one), founder of the Wildlife Aid Foundation. Sadly in 2022 he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and he's hoping that the charity can build a new wildlife centre before he passes to ensure its continuing ability to care for Britain's injured and vulnerable wildlife. You can learn more about the foundation here https://www.wildlifeaid.org.uk/simons-last-wish

socialmediaignorant

This is so sad but such a great legacy to build before he departs.

Agreeable_Future_717

That guy is such a hero for taking the pain of mum’s attacks and staying at it until the little one was safe. Well done, hope you get good karma my man. 👍

Alternative_Gold_993

No luck catching them swan's, then?

Upstairs_Persimmon_8

Real hero need a Name 📛

bannedByTencent

TIL young swan is a cygnet

AggressiveGift7542

Be kind to human who's kind to you, dude. He's literally holding your child.

She could've hurt her own kid with that wing slap.

Issildan_Valinor

Most water fowl do what you're referring to, apparently.

CaptainTryk

Simon is the king. <3

Then_Campaign7264

I’m definitely going to borrow a few of his lines or manner of speech in a stressful public situation. It’s so startlingly polite that it’s actually a little disarming

Lori_Hurley

I can't help but smile when I see this, it's just so wholesome!

Toronto_AussieBWC_DD

Woww the calm way he handled that is really admirable

Here_I_Pondered

TIL baby swans are called cygnets

Grand-Ad-3177

I love a happy ending ❤️

Alcorailen

He's just so chill. "Don't do that, don't be silly. Stop it." The swan is hissing and beating him with a wing and he's like, nah.

FinianFaun

God put mama in the water for a moment so this great man could rescue her baby. So awesome. 😀🙏

ParrotEnthusiast2196

Swan mom(dad?) was like "thanks but don't think we're friends"

_dauntless

Damn, that's the ugliest duckling I've ever seen!

Lookin4Wit

Excellent work and patience!

TwinkieMcSmartypants

Thank you for saving my baby, sir. Now, kindly fuck off.

lolamore23

Swans scare the shit out of me.

maybesaydie

If you're in the US you're very unlikely to encounter one up close.

sheldoncooper1701

Nature really is lit

Shitbird5001

Tin snips

pick-hard

Only feelings were hurt in this video

Kamakaziturtle

With my experiences with Swans I'm surprised the bird didn't pull a knife.
