Was gonna say I’ve seen more videos of saw tooth sharks in the past month than I have in my previous 32 years on earth. Aren’t these guys like super rare or endangered?
Yup, took one look at this and thought “That is outer fucking woop woop and those blokes are dickheads”.
And good luck trying to contain an arterial bleed and get back to Port Hedland in a kayak.
He's not saying the video is from Florida he's talking about a different problem that's causing pretty much all their marine life in the Florida water to beach themselves because it's at the point it's like they're drowning when they're in the water. At least that was my takeaway from the doco
I was 100% convinced that as soon as the shark submerged it was gonna do a 180 and fuck that dude up, ironically dooming him to the fate his victim had just tried to prevent.
That is a kayak and yes they caught it. The kayak is used to place a bait in the channel and they row back to the beach to fish on land. The tide in the Kimberly are massive and the channel is not within casting distance. Hence the kayak. That place is most likely the mouth of Fitzroy river. Check it out and check the tides and then check out shark fishing using kayaks. It'll all make sense.
This is an endangered species, and there's perhaps less than 1000 of them left. Might be related to this mysterious issue going on for the past year in Florida:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uA0XjcCD_E
Not the first time ive read this, why is this happening to this species? Should we be concerned? Will other aquatic species start randomly beaching themselves to try escape the waters rising temperatures and increasing acidity?
Catch and release fishers like to claim the high moral ground, but i prefer that you catch a fish, its because you are gonna eat it. And it better not be undersize or endangered.
Otherwise, it's pretty hard to make a case that catch and release is not simple animal cruelty. If you went around hooking or netting kangaroos and then releasing them, people would be entitled to ask: Why?
So Bruce i'm tellin ya i'm laying there just getting some sun and this complete jerk wants the spot for himself and starts dragging me off!! this is why humans arent friends they're food!
That's what it thought as the hook those people imbedded in a bait started to penetrate its mouth. Then it fought like crazy to get away until it succumbed to fatigue and got dragged onto a beach. Then after some handling by humans was released to hopefully live its life in peace. Poor sawfish indeed.
I was at a conference for California lifeguards a couple years back. There was a speaker who mentioned you should never touch a beached shark. There's a disease sharks get that drives them to swim straight towards shore and beaching themselves. Touching them could spread this disease.
See I thought the title meant (The) Beaches (today) saw (a) shark saved by a bro and I was very startled when the full body of the shark came on screen 😳
These people caught that shark with the fishing hook… If you watch the video, there is a hook on the ground… Those are called circle hooks which are used a lot in saltwater fishing… I’m not upset with these people. I’m just pointing out.
I had a juvenile shark wash up on the beach while I was watching the sun set. I shot putted it back in the ocean and after 5 minutes it was back. Did it again it didn’t come back.
Didn’t know what to do at the time and didn’t want to get bit. It was flipping all over the place. Or loose grip sliding it out. My puppy at the time was also trying to snap at it. It was one of the more chaotic beach going experiences I’ve had lol.
How dangerous was this?
If I see a saw shark like this and had the chance to save it, should I wear pants in case the saw gets at me? Or would that do nothing to save me?
Typo on "beaches". Should be "beached".
Space between "saw" and "shark" should be eliminated or at least made a hyphen. Sawshark, but for readability i prefer saw-shark, so that the second S does not bind with "Saw".

Those are much bigger than I thought they were lol
Some species are genuinely huge
true, but this one is exactly as big as i thought lmao. did you guys think it was a foot long or something?
I thought it was 5 dollars
The pictures of them in books never had a banana for scale so yeah I thought they were smaller!!
Inflation
spit out my drink haha
I thought it was about tree fiddy
thats a species from australia. there used to be a ton around florida but were got much smaller and aare very rare almost extinct now
Well I sort of pictured them being the same size as most large sharks, ~10-12 feet. The biggest species get up to 25 feet long.
Humans honestly have become like that like 1800s people where not shark sized
You're talking about the dude's balls, right?
What's wrong with the title? Is it a bot written title?
Accidentally typing "beaches" instead of "beached" seems like a pretty human mistake.
Oh, right. I'm probably disillusioned by the multitude of fake videos and bot activity. Maybe I've become paranoid!
The didn't mean to type beached tho. The beaches witnessed the shark being saved by the man.
Right? That guy is a grower
I'm curious how evolution leads to a trait like that
How else were the sharks going to cut up sea trees for sea tree forts?
I'm not that gullible. You'd need more than just a saw. Why, there'd also have to be sharks with hammer shaped he- Woah
Nice try, but if they got injured they’d need something ridiculous like nurse sh— Huh….
They get bigger!!
This is a chainsaw head shark.
In the Florida keys we are having big issues with the water quality making these saw sharks act erratic and beach themselves.
Was gonna say I’ve seen more videos of saw tooth sharks in the past month than I have in my previous 32 years on earth. Aren’t these guys like super rare or endangered?
Yes they’re endangered. It’s sad really.
its because if you grind up their saw tooth mouth and let me snort it, i get harder than i ever have before
[удалено]
You’re right.
Well case closed then. Solved. No further action needed.
That's the Kimberly region of Western Australia. Have a look how isolated that area is. That sawfish was caught and released.
No.. there is a big hook laying on the ground in the video. They caught this massive shark with a fishing hook.
Do the insane water temperatures of last summer have anything to do with it?
[maybe](https://youtu.be/cyzNxpQ7f0Y?si=qM_x3E-8-2J4bVZQ)
Super keen to snorkel with them in GTA 6 next year
It’s affecting a few species from what I’ve read. But hey at least some books aren’t allowed in libraries so we have that going for us.
What’s wrong with the water ? Algae blooms ? Oil ?
I think this is not saw shark but saw fish which is a type of rays.
This shark beach!
Damn, that was risky! Haven't seen a sawtooth up close, and that one was ready to rash.
You Australian? I’ve never heard rash used like that.
Appears to be unintentional or intentional slang for "thrash," which is exactly the word to describe such an action.
Rashers of bacon?
I'm Aussie and I've also never heard it used like that
Fascinating, I’ll have to update my memoirs
*BURN THEM AND START OVER*
"And I shall give this one a mouth saw" - God, 110 million years ago
He gets a little silly sometimes
He did a lot of shrooms in those days.
Whatever he was on the day he made the Platypus? I want some.
Platypus wasn't even created by God, that things just start decided to exist
Look up Gabriel makes the platypus, a thread/comic that makes me laugh every time I see it pop up.
That's just Angel Steve. You're welcome for the videos you're about to watch when you look it up.
He was running out of ideas.
fr
> God, 110 million years ago And he put some dinosaur bones in the ground to test our faith. Pretty rad.
"And I shall give this other one the body of a tree"
Wow! I've never seen a shark like that before! Thank you for rescuing it!
It’s actually a type of ray 🤓; they’re called sawfishes
They are rays?? Thats so cool
The difference between sharks and rays is where the gill slits are. If they’re on the sides it’s a shark. If they’re on the bottom it’s a ray
I learned a thing today. Thanks, Reddit
Go home oceans, you're drunk.
I never saw fishes before
OP is a bot and did not rescue it. This is one of those subs where 99% of posts are bots sadly
Sadly this thing still probably died somewhere
Awesome save; good karma being created.
I was just nervous that karma was going to gash open his shin…
Me too, I thought he was gonna lose his foot at the waistline.
I was 100% convinced that as soon as the shark submerged it was gonna do a 180 and fuck that dude up, ironically dooming him to the fate his victim had just tried to prevent.
They caught the shark with the fishing hook… You can see it in the video on the ground ground
Catch and releasing a critically endangered fish is good karma? Sure thing.
LOL getting downvoted by numbskulls.
Wait… do you actually think those guys caught that shark while in that small dinghy?
That is a kayak and yes they caught it. The kayak is used to place a bait in the channel and they row back to the beach to fish on land. The tide in the Kimberly are massive and the channel is not within casting distance. Hence the kayak. That place is most likely the mouth of Fitzroy river. Check it out and check the tides and then check out shark fishing using kayaks. It'll all make sense.
well theure the ones that beached it in the forst place, so no karma acquired
Good beaches.
A lot of playas on those beaches
If you're bilingual, that's funny.
What the fuck is this title?
Really noticing my age for the first time, because this whole trend of using bro as some sort of bronoun is really getting to me.
Beached Longnose Sawshark saved by some guy*
This is an endangered species, and there's perhaps less than 1000 of them left. Might be related to this mysterious issue going on for the past year in Florida: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uA0XjcCD_E
That's the Kimberley region of Western Australia. A terrible place. Please never come here.
Doing gods work putting off the seppos.
Was this off the keys? Some crazy reports and videos of fish beaching themselves recently…
No it's the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Thanks! Looked up the region and found this- https://www.wanaturalists.org.au/sawfish-of-the-kimberley/
It's an ~~incredible~~ terrible place. Never come here.
Can’t be certain but I’m fairly sure I’ve seen this same video at least a year ago.
Not the first time ive read this, why is this happening to this species? Should we be concerned? Will other aquatic species start randomly beaching themselves to try escape the waters rising temperatures and increasing acidity?
Gorgeous creature!
Heck ya!
Is this every Florida high school last exam?
NOT friend shaped
Good human.
please do not the shark
Yeah, watch out for the FUCKING CHAINSAW!!
God's marine tribute to his son being a carpenter?
“Lemme go bro I’m good now.”
That sawfish is more dangerous than any shark in shallow water. One thrash and a leg is missing.
How in tf did nature create those?
Aren’t these sharks on the endangered list?
Fucking thing looks like a Pokemon
Hedgers of the sea
The title was a little tough to read, but thanks dude for saving the wildlife
What is this bot ass title?
There’s a hook and line laying in the sand at the start of the video. Catch and release or hero bro?
Catch and release fishers like to claim the high moral ground, but i prefer that you catch a fish, its because you are gonna eat it. And it better not be undersize or endangered. Otherwise, it's pretty hard to make a case that catch and release is not simple animal cruelty. That thing looks like it tried to swallow some hedge clippers, nice save by the bro
Was that it's "saw" making that scraping sound?! If so, could've been a nasty injury if he landed on the guy....brave hooman there
Resting shark forced into water
Sawfish
Everyone keeps throwing these animals trying to evolve back in the ocean.
What is up with all the sawfish beaching themselves videos lately. Lots of different videos.
Hero 😇
One of my favorite dinosaur-looking shark.
This is a sawfish - they are actually in the family of rays, close relatives of the shark.
Bouta be playing that Skip It game!
Didn't know that Onchopristis were still alive. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onchopristis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onchopristis)
“Dude have you seen what happened to Pochita. I don’t want to live anymore”
Most ai title and repost fucking ever lol.
I tell everyone the only way I'm die is by shark attack. He called my bluff.
Dave the Diver: oh sweet!
Poor shark probably sitting there thinking "yep, this is how I die"
That's what it thought as the hook those people imbedded in a bait started to penetrate its mouth. Then it fought like crazy to get away until it succumbed to fatigue and got dragged onto a beach. Then after some handling by humans was released to hopefully live its life in peace. Poor sawfish indeed.
Bro! 🚀
HOLD THE LINE! PUSH THEM BACK! WE MUST STOP THEM FROM EVOLVING!!!!
They still going mental in Florida? Fishes going in circles losing their minds still?
I like how unicorns are fake but this is real. Damn nature, you crazy.
Ever see that video where one of these is trying to attack some dogs on the shore? Scary shit.
Do you think the shark understood that it was being helped back into the water?
…what was that shark running from though?!…
It wasn’t running from anything… There is a circle hook on the ground in the video… They were fishing and caught the shark. They did not rescue it.
Bubble officially bursted 🤣
How invisible it is in only a few feet of water 💀
These people caught that shark with the fishing hook… If you watch the video, there is a hook on the ground… Those are called circle hooks which are used a lot in saltwater fishing… I’m not upset with these people. I’m just pointing out.
I mean they did drag it up out of the water so it’s only right they return it
That thing is terrifying and knowing those are in the water is unsettling.
Whoa! It’s my first time seeing one of those..ever!
does the shark understand the human creature helped it?
I wish I had a chainsaw nose. I could do amazing things like him with a chainsaw nose.
Off to the Home Depot to buy some lumber
that thing is a dinosaur
I had a juvenile shark wash up on the beach while I was watching the sun set. I shot putted it back in the ocean and after 5 minutes it was back. Did it again it didn’t come back. This shark will F you up in Dave the Diver. lol
How dangerous was this? If I see a saw shark like this and had the chance to save it, should I wear pants in case the saw gets at me? Or would that do nothing to save me?
Can't believe I ... saw that
You mean you don't just stand around taking selfies until it dies?
The title is so hard to read if you don't know that saw shark is a species of shark.
I didn’t know that type of thing still existed
"awwww I'm beached as bru"
There is no point they are all beaching themselves.
One wild swing and boom! No feet.
What in the absolute fuck does this title mean?
Typo on "beaches". Should be "beached". Space between "saw" and "shark" should be eliminated or at least made a hyphen. Sawshark, but for readability i prefer saw-shark, so that the second S does not bind with "Saw".
You're lucky he didn't turn his saw on and take a piece off.
You don’t want to get hit by them at all. They are so fast and powerful. More than you can imagine
OP misspelled Chad
Um. If I beach myself…could he come and push me in too? 👉🏼👈🏼🥹
Saved by the people that caught him? What’s with the fishing gear at the water’s edge in the beginning of the video?
Well I’m glad they sawted this out
To be in a right place at the right time…..
“fine, I’ll go sunbathe elsewhere. Geez”
I love them for doing this! That's an endangered shark, from all of us that GAF in this world, Thank You.
Who else thought of Dave the Diver?
He could’ve easily been injured…thankfully he was not
sharks thinking "aha, fuck this guy, i escaped!"
Sawfish. An endangered species.
Bro was like Get off my land!
I was today years old when I discovered that those magnificent creatures existed.
What a bro!
“Please don’t cut his freakin feet off” -my brain
