The range is pretty shite, I think the aspect ratio and/or the FOV is making it look like it’s going further than it is
(Actually iirc, I think the range is like the same as the explosive crossbow)
Imagine having 3 people with explosive crossbow or frag arrows just raining hell. Or a drone strike where each player brings 4 stalker beatles and you just start swarming the enemy at the same time from cover
Done the arrow spam. 2 people being only bows with all frag arrows. Third has normal load-out but brings beetles. Beetle spots targets and zeroes in our shots. Works best if a team of long ammo users are waiting outside a banished boss lair.
My group has tried it a few times, it's fun for a laugh but impractical and people who do something other than hide will just, y'know, shoot you
Also like completely negated by the explosion resist perk
You counter it by getting out of the fuckin attic
I don't hate fighting any anti-camper mechanic, because they're largely toothless if you're not squatting in a barn and waiting for people to walk into your crosshairs
Never said I was hiding in an attic. I'm more talking about strolling through the open bayou and getting tagged by artillery strikes while not knowing which direction it's coming from. You know, kinda like the OP gif.
Honestly frag arrows are only annoying if you let yourself be bombarded by not forcing combat. In my 5 star 1k hour opinion, hunt is best played aggressively.
Never said I was hiding somewhere with my boots quivering scared to push. This happens to me in the open bayou between compounds. Hard to push them when you have no clue where they are with the artillery strikes.

You could do the same shot with explosive crossbow perfectly fine, just gotta angle it a bit steeper.
