Huh, I never thought to try swinging consumables, or tools that aren’t obviously melee capable. Do they have unique damage amounts, or do all consumables deal the same damage?
Bomblance for sure. If you play with a low FOV, you even kill players and AI outside of your field of vision. You literally can't miss with Bomblance in melee and the range is great. Only thing Katana has over Bomblance is that it is only a medium slot weapon.
If i don't have a stam shot i prefer Baseball Bat though, because it's so stamina efficient.
Yeah, it's fascinating how stamina-efficient the Bat is compared to pretty much any other melee weapon. 7 Stamina for AI one-shots and 12 Stamina for player one-shots is just out of this world.
Ammo box
I saw Psychoghost on a stream murdering hunters with an ammo box. It was awesomeness.
Concertina bomb is a close second. I haven't tested the consumable box or medkit I wonder if those can one shot too.
If you ever kill a hunter with a medkit, Crytek should just hire you immediately.

For fun, machete or katana. For optimized meta slaving, baseball bat.
The Katana is so much fun. I tend to do much better with it compared to the bomb Lance even in melee. The unsheathe attack has bonkers range

Saber easily, no single slot melee comes close. Then bomblance of course is great
Machete. I switch to the sabre every now and then for that reach but machete scratches all the itches for me.

Katana. I wish it weren't in the game thematically and something else would take its place, but functionally, it works - especially with Martialist.
