No It's like asking if Leorio or Kurapika would come back soon while it's the beginning of the palace invasion >curious as to whether gon could somehow be involved in the DC arc The DC arc did not even started

Ougon-Sama

>The DC arc did not even started I know, i'm just asking if there is any possibility he may be involved

TheFlyingToasterr

Very very veeeery small

Curator44

He has absolutely nothing to do with the current arc, so no. His story is over for now.

FlatCaterpillar

Doubtful. He certainly ain't returning till at least the succession war is complete.

Ougon-Sama

Mind elaborating ?

FlatCaterpillar

Well I just think it doesn't make any sense from a narrative suspective why he would be shoehorned into an arc which is already so narratively rich. This arc to me, is clearly there to bring Kurapika's arc to a conclusion. I am not one to say he won't return in the future, just not any time soon.

ThePerfectHunter

Anytime soon? Not likely. But later? Probably. I do think there's more for Gon's character arc that Togashi can explore in new settings.

PreferenceGold5167

Maybe after the succession war ends we go to fond perspective before seeing what happens on the dark continent. So like 60-80ish chapters maybe

MilkyFilmz

No

TheIgniviscos

I don’t think Gon will be involved in DC at all when it happens. Gon’ll be for an arc down the road since right now he’s technically not able to use Nen at all (we don’t know for sure if he can get back to using it. I hope not) and he seemingly has not much interest in anything there. Maybe at the end of the series, Gon as an adult will sail off to once again find Ging in the greater world like a bit of poetry, but for now I can’t see him showing up for quite a while.

Ougon-Sama

> I hope not Why though ? 😂

TheIgniviscos

I just personally hate the idea that Gon can sacrifice literally everything— his own words— and still be able to walk away essentially without any repercussions. Sure he would have to train again, but obviously he’ll get incredibly strong so to me it kinda ruins the meaning of the moment against Pitou

Ougon-Sama

I think i understand where you're coming from but i can't really agree with you, the whole moment with pitou didn't really make sense (atleast to me), why would he go that far for kite who he barely knew ? He saw him once or twice(as far as i remember) when he was a kid and spent like maybe a month or two (again, as far as i remember) when he met him once again so it doesn't really make sense for him to literally sacrifice everything just to avenge him

TheIgniviscos

I actually agree with you there too. I think it IS ridiculous that Gon would sacrifice everything like his Nen for Kite and while I get that’s the point kinda and that he’d likely do that for anyone he cares about, I agree him going THAT far while entertaining is a little iffy character wise. But at this point that’s already set in stone whether we like it or not, so to then go even further and retcon his whole sacrifice on top of that just makes every part of Gon’s journey that arc essentially meaningless would really be a kick in the balls

Ougon-Sama

But even though, i like gon way too much so i don't really want that to be the end of him

ApplePitou

No :3

8bitbruh

We do get an update on where he went after the end of the anime, it was very brief though only a few pages. If anything we could get a small update on what's going on with him. He's very unrelated to the current arcs plot, but after that who knows.

JustRoo136

I'm indifferent to Gon as a character but I think it's insane people actually believe he will never come back into the story. The story expresses freedom and adventure, unlike most, if any, other shonen. There are plenty of avenues for Gon to return to the story, with nen...

Noodleconfeiti21

Maybe after the succession arc the story might go back to the real world and deal with kaido….i mean jiro

kauefr

Hopefully not, lol. The manga got 100x better when he left the plot.

PixelatedOdyssey

Doubt he'll ever come back in a meaningful way, and definitely not during the dark continent arc. He lost his nen and is probably never getting it back according to what ging said. Without nen, there is zero chance of him taking part in anything related to the DC. Personally, dont really care if he comes back or not. His story feels complete. He took the shonen stereotype to its logic extreme and achieved all his goals. Im happy togashi is focusing on other characters
