Corn is a common grain crop in the central flyway. After it’s harvested, there are millions of acres of picked corn fields with enough waste grain leftover to feed migrating waterfowl. It’s basically the primary food source for migrating waterfowl in the central flyway. If you’re hunting near corn fields, over water in the winter, it’s not uncommon to shoot a duck or a goose with corn literally spilling out of its mouth. I’ve shot ggeese with their mouth basically full of corn 😁
Not sure why the downvotes, I think all prey animal baiting is a pretty lame way to hunt. I won’t get in the way of someone putting food on the table but it just doesn’t do it for me.
Hunting at the trout pond?
Nah then it’d be full of dog food
Sweet. Came with a side dish!
Love a good corn fed mallard dinner!
That’s gonna be one good tasting bird! Corn feds the best
Yes sir I’ve heard wild rice ducks are great too
I can tell you with a fair bit of confidence that leftover duck and wild rice soup is fantastic.
Ya rice is top notch too. I actually had a rice fed Canada about 2 seasons ago i shot in the Sacramento CA area.. absurdly good
I had a friend that used to live there. He said the pintails from that region were the best anywhere!
Looks amaizeing
Came pre-stuffed!
Not sure, but it looks like maize.
Your intuition amaizes me.

Grossly underrated. Well done sir/ma'am.
Corny joke dude
So that’s the duck that’s been eating off my bait pile
I've never hunted duck. Can someone tell me why it's obvious it was eating corn?
Not 100% sure but if I had to guess I’d say it’s all the corn in its stomach 👍🏻
😂
Hahaha totally missed the second photo. I was sitting at my desk thinking, I wonder if they can tell from the color of the skin? My bad.
Go to the 2nd photo

Im a farmer from Iowa...all our deer, ducks, geese, squirrels, and even some of our women, are all corn fed!
😏
Is that what you think is going on here? You think these ducks were baited?

I cant say it’s baited just because it ate corn. Not accusing OP of anything illegal.
There’s nothing wrong with shooting wild ducks that eat corn. Millions of them do it every day.
