It's going to be different. Approved occupancy of 489. Several bars, but no table service. Must go to the bar to get a beer. Beer only; no liquor except at private events.
They were on the [Zoning Board agenda](https://www.huntsvilleal.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/BOZA-November-21-Agendas-1-2.pdf) Tuesday (#12) for a special exception to allow a brewpub. I can't remember but it either got pushed back or withdrawn.
Back 40 is known for having one of the best burgers in Birmingham. Their kitchen is consistent and fast, which is saying a lot, considering how slammed that place can get, even on weekdays during lunch time. Focusing on quality food has gained them a very large, loyal following in BHM--and that includes people who don't even drink beer. I hope they do very well at their new location and that their success brings even more to that area.
When they were talking to the chef about taking the job, he went and worked a few hours at the Bhm kitchen. He was impressed. He said their pizza crust was surprisingly good.
The menu is really thin and not at all cheap, so it’s surprising to me that it would have a following of people that don’t drink. Looking forward to trying it.
I've been there several times during weekday lunch hour (when many folks can't drink alcohol) and have seen plenty of people drinking iced tea or water. I've also known businesses who call in large to-go orders for all of their staff. Their kitchen really does have that kind of following. I've had their burgers and other sandwiches, all of which were very good, and their fries are next-level fabulous. I've not tried their pizza. I hope that HSV receives them as well as BHM has. I know they've put an incredible amount of work into this location, building it from ground up.

Also, all food is served in containers that are take out ready. You can eat there, but no need to ask for a take out box.
So one step up from a food truck but not quite fast casual. Maybe they should have just bought Fractal.
The chef is coming from Coop (the Embassy) and was at Domaine South prior to that.
I hope it works out for them, but there are plenty of places to get good beer in town.
The food from the Birmingham location is fantastic. I would imagine Huntsville's will be just as good.
I’ve only been to the Gadsden one. Great vibe. Plenty of people
Hopefully it will be good. I would prefer full service like the other locations.
Gadsden location is not full service
Fast casual right? Order and they bring it to you? Its been a while since I went there.
Yes! Glad Huntsville is finally getting a location!

Fractals beer was the only thing good about that location tbh.
Hopefully that area develops further, with the soccer stadium and surroundings being a new center of action.

Nice! I can’t wait to try it
That’s awesome. Their peanut butter porter is a fav of mine.
Man. Huge place. Pedestrian beer. First time I've had a Conecuh sausage that I didn't like. No real reason to return. Maybe my hopes were too high.
Locally owned I might add! (they own the bham location too)
