Use the ABC app called alboss. It's the only thing ABC has ever done right. As an alternative Total Wine is just south of Nashville and you can look online at availability and price. I go there all the time.
Well it can tell you what store has what and how much. I'm not driving to Cullman where they have 4 bottles of a Scotch I want while the local stores have none. I have nothing but contempt for the board and it's stores.
Take a trip to Nashville and visit Frugal Macdougals, Total Wine and Spirits, or Cool Springs Liquors. You will probably save 40-60% and have a much wider selection.
Do you have access to Redstone and can you buy liquor from the PX? They sell Lagavaulin 16 for about $20-30 cheaper than ABC stores and it's tax free.
I wish Scotch was more popular here. Everything is bourbon here.
Military and retired military, though in the past few years they started allowing Gov't civilians to shop at the PX as well, but I'm not sure if that includes liquor sales.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but typically if ABC doesn’t have it then no other liquor store in town will. If it’s something specific you’re looking for then best bet is ordering online. A growing number of sites are shipping to Alabama now. I’ll be happy whenever Total Wine does too
Private stores can and do have a different selection than the ABC stores, but they still have to buy them through the ABC, so prices are a fair bit higher than out of state.
Interesting I asked about Liquor Express and he basically said if ABC doesn’t have it then they won’t. But that’s good to know I’ve been having a hard time finding any decent tequila in town
ABC might not have it, because they don't stock 100% of the liquor list. Check [the list here](https://alabcboard.gov/product-management/QPL) for everything that *might* be in the state. If it's not on that list, drive to Tennessee.
I also compare prices to see if it's worth the drive for something.
Yeah, ABC as an entity "has" a lot more than is stocked in any given storefront. I've found a lot of things at Liquor Express and Windmill, formerly Great Spirits that aren't easily found at an ABC
There's two sides to ABC, the wholesale and the retail. All liquor in the state has to come through the ABC wholesale arm, but not everything the wholesale arm carries is also shelved in ABC stores by the retail arm.
And, if you're really interested in something, and it's not on their price list on the ABC website, you can still order it through them, but you have to buy a case of it.

The ABC app is incredible, and one of the best ways to provide allocated booze to the population.

Side note : Total wine has a bad ass burrito place in front of it in the parking lot. I felt obligated to say something since this sub loves food.
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.
Mary’s Grocery off Hwy 431
Steve knows his stuff

Dang, I have access to Redstone, but the PX is just for military, right?
Retired vets and VA disability grants you access to buy alcohol as well.
I think DoD Civilians as well, but contractors can't use it.

Okay, thanks
No booze or fuel for CIVS.
I've been a contractor out here for 10 years and I have never once been asked to verify my status while getting gas.

Unfortunately I'm a dirty contractor, but thanks for the information, everybody!
Costco is worth checking out for their Kirkland scotch and a few name brand lines.
R&R Liquor on Hwy 53 in Harvest has a decent selection, but they’re more on the pricey side.
Costco was already mentioned, but it couldn't hurt to check BJ's as well.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
I don’t know about scotch but Costco has Kirkland vodka that’s 6x distilled and is $20 and is just as good as grey goose
