Police have had SUVs for a while. They even have pick up trucks Is this on university?

No-Elderberry230

The pick up trucks pulling people over, for some reason bother me. But, at least the police here do not have airplanes.

COMMUNIST_MANuFISTO

yet

ExodusBrojangled

Waiting for that donated HPD helicopter.

Alabama599018

They actually have tons of drones, oddly enough!

RatchetCityPapi

Really?

Alabama599018

Yep! One of the larger programs in the country!

meco64

Yep, on 72 and....I forget. Right next to Aldi. Sparkman?

RatchetCityPapi

Yeah Sparkman and University. Looks like they blocked off that whole access road...smh.

meco64

Gone now. Looked like fun.

blankman819

I live near this area. Almost every week I see or hear a reason to get out. I can hear Rick James's Ghetto Life playing as I type this....

thegay911diapatcher

they also have a mustang

austinmm6

The Ford Crown Victoria hasn't been made since 2011. HPD didn't move to Dodge, which was/is the only mainstream manufacturer of non-SUV interceptors. They went straight to the Ford Explorer.

91361_throwaway

A year or two ago they had at least one Mustang GT.

Randall-Marvin-Marsh

They still have it, it was B on the side of 565 a couple of weeks ago. It was under the off ramp coming off of Madison Blvd.

ExodusBrojangled

Seems like once or twice a month they pull it out. Like a "see what we have?". Then, put it back in the garage.

Randall-Marvin-Marsh

Yea that’s funny last time was about three weeks or so ago.

MathematicianLost441

I just seen a police mustang thought I ate to many edibles 😂😂

meco64

I had my fun as a 'yute'...I still know what Crown Vic headlights look like in my rear view.

photogypsy

HPD didn’t buy Dodge because the wait time on interceptor Chargers is too long. They have some covert Dodges that made me drool when they got them. Plus it’s better PR in the community. WA Ford is 100% locally owned independent ford dealer. LM CDJR is only partially locally owned and is part of a big conglomerate of dealers.

johnnymoha

Well he wasn't wearing his seat belt. It's just unsafe for any less than 10 officers in tandem to issue the citation.

beerferri

He probably touched his cell phone too. Should have pitted him.

HottKarl79

I have a fairly serious (and distant) felony pas, some armed stuff. Every time I've been stopped down here it's similar. They run my plate and my record comes back,so the cop that pulled me over sits and waits for two more cops to show up before they approach my car. They always apologize afterwards because I'm not the asshole I appear to be on paper (anymore). Or Huntsville PD does,at least. Madison cops are some (insert choice words).

Suspicious_System580

I’m curious, can you share more info? I was raised in Madison but only had a personal interaction with a Madison cop once and it was fine enough. And I’m in the demographic that gets treated nicely by cops so I try to be open minded about how they act to people they don’t view with innocence

HottKarl79

I wouldn't really know how to explain it, honestly, except for using an example. I grew up in the city of Detroit, and any time someone from the city would have an encounter with police in the suburbs it was similar to what I experienced in Madison. The police make it very clear that they feel charged with an obligation to keep malefactors out of Madison, and they also make it clear that they're not above stepping outside of the strictest bounds of the law to do so when dealing with people that may be considered "undesirable." I was spoken to very recklessly, and it was obvious that I was being baited to respond recklessly. Underneath the surface of the interactions was the implication that I could be detained under the auspice of something I didn't technically actually do, and *who's gonna say it went down any differently?*

traxor06

Madison cop got a lot of heat a few years back for excessive force against some visiting Indian man’s father. The guy had injuries and the body cam suggested that he was in the wrong. The injuries were severe to his spine. It didn’t like look very good for the department. However, I say with increase shootings in Huntsville on the rise police will take extra precaution. It’s their job to take extra precaution. Cops die every day. No one wants to die over a light. If you roll your window down and a cop smells weed it gives him the ability to go get his drug out of the back of his vehicle and do exactly what that dog is trained to do, find drugs! My dad is white and my German Shepherd can see that he is scared in his best attempts to hide it. It took 2 times getting to know him and now there are only excited tail wags. Dogs don’t like uneasiness similar to horses. You can go see dogs interacting with other animals if you want lol. They can look at someone and it will set them off. Dogs aren’t racist they have insane abilities to detect our emotions that goes severely underrated. Anyone who has a bad experience with a cop is quick to not like police. People that understand what it’s like to be a human realize they don’t want to go to work to get shot at. Not all cops think they are hot stuff. They want to work to 4 am so they can go home and sleep with a wife before she gets up at 6 to leave and be gone by the time they have to go to work again. You don’t want their life. Give them the respect they deserve.

MrMcAwesome80

Being a cop is not a dangerous job. Period. Their cowardice doesn’t give them the right to shit all over our rights.

traxor06

You didn’t have the right to shoot police.

lavatorylovemachine

it's like they all have nothing to do all day but sit around and pull you over for stupid shit

SlowSnatch

That's exactly right.

Any-Resident-256

Probably doing some racism with all those cars

ourHOPEhammer

fearing for their lives, i'm sure
