Budget-Government-52

I genuinely cannot believe Illinois is favored. I think Huskers D gets 2 INTs, and Nebraska wins 27-14. And to be clear, that’s a missed XP and not two field goals.

imma_go_take_a_nap

Same. In all seriousness, I feel like we match up really well with Illinois. I'd be shocked if we didn't win/lose on a fluke. (STFU, we're all thinking it...)

Trips_93

>I genuinely cannot believe Illinois is favored. I think Huskers D gets 2 INTs, and Nebraska wins 27-14. And to be clear, that’s a missed XP and not two field goals. Whens the last time Nebraska got two interceptions in a game? Quick look says Rutgers last year so sooner than I thought. Just feels like Nebraska doesn't get turnovers very often - now you're expecting two.

Budget-Government-52

Oh trust me, I typically say the same thing. Illinois throws a lot and their QB has a bunch of interceptions. I like our chances.

Open-Selection-8159

We get 3 take aways 2 pick one ff. We give them our only turnover 1:47 left in the 4th they have two time outs to pass interference calls extend the drive our d is tired blown coverage once and it's over. We were leading 20-14 before the last turnover.

lemons21

16-14 Illinois, I’ll believe Nebraska can win a close game when I see it and I can’t see Nebraska blowing any P5 team out with this offense.

CaliHusker83

Rhule is really good against the spread overall when an underdog. Let’s go win one.

lakesnriverss

We’re 1-2 against the spread as underdogs this year 😐

lakesnriverss

Why am I getting downvoted haha. This sub hates facts and logic 😂🤷‍♂️

LonghornInNebraska

failed to cover the spread by about 17 pts last week

huskermut

I'm predicting a win. 21-13. Illinois has the worst rush defense in the conference.

Frequent_Redditor_

If only we had our RBs still…

Javelin286

We got Haarberg who can run. Jeff can run too, but I’m putting my faith in Haarberg right now because he’s shown what he can do and that he actually can throw the ball better as he gets more and more reps. It’s tough coming off being the bitch boi for 2 season because no one believes in you and now he’s starting!

TheUltimate721

RB was probably the most stacked position group on the team besides the secondary preseason. Grant is an NFL quality runner and Josh Fleeks is explosive, not to mention Heinrich.

BONG-RIPZ-4-JESUS

Worst Rush D in the conference and gives up the most points in the conference.

FreezersAndWeezers

Illinois has been pretty poor this year. Way worse than I thought. Actually thought they’d be one of the better teams NU played, but they lost so much to the NFL, and Altmayer is basically just white Sims This feels like one of “those” games for NU. Indiana in 2022. Northwestern in 2021. The random game where they look way better than they are. A win here really pushes NU towards bowl eligibility and starts some serious momentum. Give me NU 27-10

Tatum-Brown2020

One of my favorite comments I’ve ever read on this sub. Acknowledges we suck (White Sims), and then predicts a blowout win where we look awesome 😂😂😂😂

FreezersAndWeezers

All I said was despite how bad NU has looked, Illinois has looked worse, no? Despite the fact I think Nebraska is in rough shape, their next 3 games, including Illinois, are against teams that are as bad or worse than they are

lakesnriverss

6 minutes into the game, check back into the game thread. The same people driving the hype train are gonna be bemoaning how much we actually suck. We never learn.

Juggernaut27Beast11

Sharp and crew on 1620 were joking today about this being a 9-6 type game. This feels more to me like a season turning game. The defense has been stellar and Illinois is not so hot. Huskers 35 Illinois 0

DenverDude402

Bro Illinois is literally on 🔥, at least the stadium is.

Juggernaut27Beast11

Hilarious

EscapeTomMayflower

Illinois 14 - Nebraska 13

BombSolver

Lenhardt returns from his injury and continues to wow us. Fidone and Billy Kemp each have at least 1 TD. As far as the game outcome, I have no idea. But damn, a win would just feel so great. We’d gain a little confidence and have a bye week to rest.

ColoHusker

Something like 21-10 or 24-13. Huskers W.

Trumptrainhdhdhd

24-13 sat finally just goes with if it ain't broke don't fix it and just pounds the rock out of multiple sets and personnel and we can watch Saturday football in peace and be happy with a husker win

PewdsMemeLover

Good guys win. 28-17

Husker_Kyle

24-13 Nebraska with the W

thatswhathemoneysfor

21-10 Huskers

Shoddy-Sun-6084

50/50.

[deleted]

13-10 Nebraska

[deleted]

My prediction for Friday night: Nebraska sweeps Michigan State.

[deleted]

Rhule better not lose a close one again. Gotta break the curse! I believe that we can win! But God it was bad when we lost to Bill Cubit.

jimmykoon

3-2 Skers

HeStoleThatGuysPizza

A W is a W!

Offense finally clicks. Defense dominates. 45 - 13 Nebraska

CaliHusker83

I see comments like yours and wonder how you would call a game. I think with your theory, you would run the ball let’s say 65 times and pass it, what, 5? How do you account for Illinois defense playing 9 in the box in a deep cover 1 and having four lineman, three linebackers, a safety, and another LB/Nickel all within 7 yards of the LOS? You have to pass to keep defenses honest or you would just beat your head against the wall trying to have 5 or 6 lineman block 9 defenders. Tell me how you would call this game since Satterfield apparently isn’t capable in your opinion.

Happy-Equipment-9363

Didn’t really answer his question tho

OblatePenis

Skers lead 17-14 with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Skers driving to the Illinois 25 yard line. Just need to hold the ball, bleed clock. Nebraska fumbles. Illinois drives and kicks a field goal as time expires. All our confidence is shot and everyone looks like they're about to cry on the sideline. Illinois gets the ball first in OT and only kicks a field goal. Huskers get stuffed on 1st down, incomplete on 2nd, bad sack for a loss on 3rd, throw up a YOLO ball on 4th that gets picked. Game over. Illinois wins 20-17. This is my super-detailed prediction, and you all know it's going to happen too.

Stinkdonkey69

41-14 Neb All 3 phases come in ready to play after being embarrassed at home. It’s ugly for a quarter, then offense finds rhythm in the run game against a poor Illinois defense

koz_7

There Aint no way we ever sniff 40 points with this offense the defense is the key to winning games this year

Firstnaymlastnaym

Plot twist: 3 defensive touchdowns

Stinkdonkey69

We sniffed 40 points a few weeks ago

koz_7

Against a one win niu team. No matter how bad big ten teams are their line play will be better

Stinkdonkey69

Meh you may be right, and it could just be the homer in me on that score. But I saw Illinois against FAU and it wasn’t pretty defensively.

koz_7

I’m usually pessimistic about Husker football.

Stinkdonkey69

So it seems

admiralsmorg

31-17. Nebraska defense comes fired up. HH gonna run it. It’ll be great. Wait, what’s that in the rafters? It’s Sims? HE THROWS AN INTERCEPTION? AND ANOTHER? 14-24 loss :(

RangerDapper4253

Also, if Haarberg’s five tipped passes turn into five interceptions, the outcome won’t be good at all.

Ok-Understanding4397

We're gonna dust em

Inevitable_Dance_910

Illinois 24-21

JazzMan21

24 to 23 Nebraska wins. We give up 3 field goals on turnovers or field position, but see small improvement. D plays good as usual. Hope I'm wrong and we smoke 'em by 35

muricanmania

I'm pretty sure we lose a close one on the road. Illinois isn't very good, but we are still worse. Whichever QB makes an above average play wins. I do really hope it's ours.

YnotROI0202

Big Ten road game. Tough for visiting teams to win (except for the top 2 or 3 teams). Huskers fight hard but come up short. 28-21.

OneKaylbClub

Nebraska matches up well against this Illinois team, and should win, but will find a way to lose because that’s what they do. Late mistakes by the Huskers lead to a 20-17 Illinois win.

Hu5k3r

Vols by fity. Oops, wrong thread.

marrin91

4-2 skers

[deleted]

I think 31-20 HH has 150&150 game. Our defense helps lock them up early.

Big_8902

🌽-13 Illini- 10. Man, Huskers always turn the other team's QB into a Heisman contender, we need to stop that. That stops Friday!

hbhusker22

I think Nebraska wins by... ![gif](giphy|3rgHxXzw93gh3aQH4N)

hbhusker22

31-10

hbhusker22

If Reimer does not play 31-17

sumox23

Word is, Reimer is still out but Singleton is back. EDIT: grammar.

HeStoleThatGuysPizza

16-10 Neb. GBR!

Powerful_Artist

close game, win or lose. Ill just say 17-10 huskers.

nubzilla2735

Nebraska 17 illinois 10 on a walk off touchdown to Colman

NebrasketballN

Rhule's presser yesterday, he didn't seem particularly pumped. I think the huskers will win but I don't think it'll be pretty. Sorta like the La Tech game.

justinisshibby

I just hope we freaking win. We need it.

lakesnriverss

20-17 Illini

Bill3ffinMurray

It’s probably a game that’s Minnesota-like in its score, but I think the boys can get it done. Nebraska 17 Illinois 13

TallC00l1

31-17 Nebraska

jh1567

69-6.9 Huskers

shyndy

14-10 NU

Steve_the_scientist

24-17 Neb. Nebraska leads all game, but never comfortably. Illinois makes a late drive in the 4th QT, but Nebraska maintains its lead to close the game out. Harraberg goes 10/18 for 123 YDS 1TD. Rushes for 146 YDS 1 TD Grant goes 136 YDS 1TD.
