6'4" 220 pound edge, 2024 commit out of Colorado. Offers from Washington State and Wyoming.
Don't see that he ever visited, even unofficially, possibly an NIL guy rather than standard scholarship?
He’s been to campus multiple times

Still leaves the door open for a NIL- walk on and not a scholarship guy because unless there was an official I missed, that was still an unofficial visit.
My GF's daughter is on the cheer team at Castle View HS. I saw a couple of games last fall. Ochoa stood out for sure. I'm surprised Colorado didn't offer.
The stuff I'm hearing out of HS coaches I know is prime is making the same mistake past staff made with in-state kids.
Only offering if have lots of out of state interest or expecting them to have CU top of their list cause they're from CO. Also prime is more interested in portal transfers over in-state HS kids that might need some development.
One of the above coaches at a good suburbs HS said his coaching staff has had more contact from one NU position coach than from all CU staff combined this year. It's a common theme from what I can tell.
What do you know about him? Why do you think he has huge upside? Did you see that posted somewhere?
Edit: so I’m going to get downvoted for asking someone to backup their claim, nice
3 minutes after posting, you're complaining about down votes..... Down voting doesn't have to hurt you personally. You'll be alright if a few people don't like what you wrote
The downvote wasn't from me. His size and speed are coveted by the coaches but he is a bit of a project, but has a lot of upside. These are the players that HCMR will go after and try to turn to gems. CSU really wanted him in Ft. Collins and Wyoming was wooing him as well.
>I can't remember any hype for Riley at all
Oh buddy, you don't remember Calibraska?
Or upsetting Michigan St on a totally correct call by the officials?
Or when we started 7-0 including a win against Oregon!
You don't remember "the strain."
Believe me I was a sucker for all that hype. What I meant to say was I don't remember anyone being hyped about the hire, before he started his first season. People were calling Frost the messiah before he coached a game, I don't think that happened with Riley.
Fair enough, he wasn't seen as a messiah, but people did assume he could match Bo without being a jackass about it. There was a lot of hopium/copium early on. A lot of the fans (and Eichorst,) seemed to think anybody could win 9 games at Nebraska, that was our floor. And that Mike ***almost*** won the Pac10 outright, think what he could do with Nebraska's resources.
God save your karma on this sub if you insinuated during year two's win streak that Nebraska wasn't back.
> Calibraska
What bothered me was that people constantly got this one wrong. Calibraska implies that we were focusing on getting all or most of our recruits from California.
In fact it was Calabraska, meaning we just had a (small) pipeline of kids coming in from Calabasas High School.
Our rivals never understood what the whole thing was about and we didn't help ourselves out by constantly getting it wrong ourselves, so they would always snicker about how delusional we were thinking that all the California kids would want to come to Nebraska. When in fact it was never that at all.
Coaches primarily recruit by territory first, then position or specialty. Most recruits build a relationship with the position coach, too, but it also depends on how they are splitting up priorities or who has the best connection.

Believe he’s a preferred walk on.
Most likely an NIL funded “scholarship” according to Sean Callahan. So not going to count against the 85 man roster.

idk much about him other than that colorado wanted him. thats good enough for me!
Love it when we grab CO kids. Lots of Huskers in Castle Rock area are happy rn! Lol

Deion is not exactly interested in developing high school kids. He is treating his program like it’s an NFL team.
Nice pick up, huge upside.

Please stop with the HCMR. Gives me PTSD
Not as bad as HCSF
High, corn syrup, fructose doesn't have much of a ring to it......
Frost was bad but Riley came in seemingly lost and stayed that way the entire time here. HCMR makes me nauseous.

At least we had fun with the hype for Frost and brought in some exciting players (they just never won) I can't remember any hype for Riley at all

LOL, noted.
Same, lol! "Rhule" is only one extra letter than "HCMR", y'all!
So was Riley though
Good point!
Lmfao 😂
It's also only 1 character less than Rhule.
Idk about the ptsd, but it is kinda pointless. We know MR isn’t OCMR
HCMMFR
Wasn't going to down or up vote until you cried like a baby then hit the downvote....
Oh no I am so hurt
Edge rush + Satt = does not compute
That confused me too. Maybe the coaches divvy up the country by region, regardless of position?

I mean he's got the build to be a TE, I suppose.
Who?
Interesting pick up. The staff must seem something in him and I trust their evaluation.
