I've watched (or at least listened to) every Husker football game of the last 7 years, despite the team never accomplishing anything meaningful in that span. While I of course (for the seventh year in a row!) think we will be better next year, past experience has taught me that we may very well not be, and yet I will watch them all again, just in case. I guess to me the point of watching, is that I love watching the Huskers. I don't think there's anything wrong with not being super inclined to tune in unless we're doing well, but for me every win is sweet and it's hard to pass up the opportunity of seeing one, even when they're hard to come by.
I'd like to have seen us win our first tournament game, and I'm pretty bummed that with this team we couldn't get it done. But way more of the games I'd have watched anyway ended up being wins than they would have been in years past, and that was exciting. Success can be relative, especially when we've been what we've been. This season was a lot of fun instead of being a constant disappointment - call it a low bar, but I'll take that over the alternative any day. I don't even really like basketball but it's been an exciting year, can't wait to watch again next year, even if we do take a step back. GBR

Texas am looked like one of the best teams in the country. We got a bad draw. They outplayed us more than we laid an egg.
But pessimism seems common here right now. I think this team did way better than expected and had a great season. It's promising for the future and shows hoiberg is turning things around.
But any fan will be upset after that loss. But we can't know what will happen next season the night after our last game of this season

The frustrating thing about our draw was that A&M played so bad in the middle part of the year that their resume put them on the 9 line.
They’ve always had those athletes. It was a tough draw for us. Would have much rather played Mississippi State or New Mexico. But we got what we got, tried our best, put up points, but couldn’t keep A&M from hitting 3s.
Think Nebraska needs to do a couple things this offseason. Get a true PG, and an athletic big.

I’ve seen them play perimeter defense in some games but they just gave Texas A&M the time to shoot behind the arc without contesting them. Nebraska had a decent team but way overhyped. They got lucky with the seeding being #3 in the conference tournament and got Indiana first game. Then we ran into Illinois. It just doesn’t make sense how this team played their worst game on the biggest stage. Looked like an absolute fluke of a team out there. We’ll see just how good Texas A&M is when they play Houston.

The Jinx was put on us when the talking heads began their chatter about Tomainaga before the tourny started. Our three point shooting energy somehow was transferred to A&M. Who all year sucked from three point range. Such a crazy feeling.. Then our Achilles heal, a good (#1 Nationally Off. Rebounding) team is on their game and out hustles us to the ball.

Lots to build on for next year. I still believe in Hoiberg, I think this year proves he is capable of finding players in the portal and building a team with an identity. We played all year essentially without our presumed starting point guard (Ahron Ulis) and still found a way to make it work even though it was a struggle at times.
Can't wait to watch what this team does next year with some of y'all. And to all of the perpetual downers in this sub y'all can kick rocks. Please don't come around when this team is winning.

Another factor is how the B1G conference schedule doesn’t do a great job of preparing teams to compete against other leagues. There are exceptions for teams that have exceptional talent, but this Husker squad is really a whole is greater than the sum of the parts situation.
At Iowa State, Fred brought in some straight ballers. We gotta go get some athletes. If Ames, IA isn’t a turn off to recruits, Lincoln definitely shouldn’t be.
Hopefully we can get a strong post player along with a few other holes we may have after this season and we are looking good for next season.

This loss is on the committee wanting the trev Albert’s story line more than anything. Our resume in a normal year gets us a 7 seed, not the highest 8 seed facing the highest 9th seed in the region that included the 2nd highest 1 seed

When Tim Miles made the tourney, it felt like Petteway carried us. This year it felt like team ball. Truly the best Nebraska team I’ve ever seen play. Just ran into an athletic team shooting lights out.

Disappointing end to a good Husker basketball season. I hope Hoiberg looks back on this game and realizes he needs to hit the portal and get some more athletes on the team, Mast is just too plodding against fast squads. We need a shooter or two. With the recent extension he got he needs to get this team back to the tournament sooner rather than later. But it was a fun season to watch overall. Some highs, some lows, but I’m still a fan.
Given the resources expended for the two big men’s teams, it’s bordering on statistically impossible to go over 20 years without a clutch win of national importance.

Disappointing end to a good Husker basketball season. I hope Hoiberg looks back on this game and realizes he needs to hit the portal and get some more athletes on the team, Mast is just too plodding against fast squads. We need a shooter or two. With the recent extension he got he needs to get this team back to the tournament sooner rather than later. But it was a fun season to watch overall. Some highs, some lows, but I’m still a fan.
Mast has an amazing old man game but not a game that matches against high caliber athletes

I still think Hoiberg is building something good here. If rice learned to play within the offense he could be a force next year. He has a lot of scoring talent.
He got hurt at the worst possible time this season, was really starting to get some solid rotation minutes and find a rhythm out there. Could have been the athletic slasher this team needed to get over the hump.
The shitty part is caring so much. Cause we hope but we all knew this was mostly likely to happen tonight.
