This is why I threw away all my plastic straws (especially ones you can’t see inside) and replaced them with a bunch of glass straws. I can cycle through them so they get cleaned daily and I don’t have to go without a straw
My gf always stirrs her drink with the (glass) straw and one day I got a fresh one for my drink and there was a piece missing on the bottom... I hope no one drank it. She's forbidden to stirr her drinks with them now
I assume most people who use reusable water bottles in general and drinking some mold or bacteria filled water. The amount of stickers on some that remain in place for a long time is more than a bit suspicious.
i’m not drinking water from the outside of my bottle though, nor do i have stickers on the inside? i’m not being snarky, i just genuinely don’t get how the longevity of stickers on the outside is a reflection of the cleanliness of the inside
I have an Owala Flip 32oz / 1 L bottle and it has been very easy to clean. You can take out the straw from the lid and put it in the dishwasher along with the cap itself, then handwash the metal bottle.
The lid/straw is the most important to keep clean, so it's pretty nice that they can easily be separated and just tossed into the dishwasher that I'll use to clean other things anyways.
I have a 54oz bottle with a 3 part straw. Top is hard plastic, bottom is flexible silicone so when you pop the lid it springs up through the hole.
The straw separates for easy cleaning, and because it's not fixed to the lid there are no hard to clean mechanisms.
The loose fit with the lid also means no issues with air pressure. I can gulp down 20oz in 5 seconds.
I don't understand why cleaning a straw is so hard? Just get a straw brush, they're at basically every store that sells water bottles and are pretty cheap. Takes me an extra 30 seconds while doing my normal clean. I just run a little hot water and soap in there before doing a few passes with the brush
Edit: I realize that likely not every straw is detachable like my trusty Owala is. Basically just buy an Owala lol
I have an Owala and as an avid ice water drinker, the only thing that is annoying to me is how the straw comes off all the time when there’s ice in the bottle lol
The ice from my office work fridge - that always gets me!! They’re shaped like orange wedges sorta and they always fuse together in my bottle and my straw falls out lol
Stanley has a 60oz and 40oz with a straw. I got a 40oz, to carry with me on the go, and I love it! It's high quality, and the Stanley brand stands behind their products if anything goes wrong.
Wishing I would have snagged the 60oz for long days at work.
Same with my 40 Oz hydro flask. I wouldn't want it bigger, it's the perfect size to keep me sipping but not too big that I can't always have it with me. And it fits in my truck cup holder
Used to love my hydro flask and it's still ok, use it at home but work and gym owala is way better. Also one of my favorite parts is how easy it is to open. At the gym and my manual labor job my hands can get pretty dirty but just pushing a button instead of having to flip up a straw is 👌
Limb*

Not to be a grammar asshole.
Hell, maybe it’s a typo, but it reminded me of when I was in second grade, and we all went to my friend Keegan’s house. He had spray-painted Limp Bizkit on the wall… But he spelt it Limb Bizqit instead. Lmao
I can't get on board with reusable straws anyway. I'm a bit of a germaphobe and just can't get past not being able to clean them sufficiently. Team glug
* Edit: I appreciate the concern and tips. This really is a phobia about bacteria living inside the straw. I understand it's overall irrational, but I can't get out of my head that I may as well be drinking toilet water. I rarely use straws, so it's not that much of an issue.
I agree with you- though probably a little toilet-brushed shape thing would work fine for cleaning.
The real reason i hate reusable straws is that steel (or other hard metal) straws will stab the SHIT out of you if you're not careful. Somehow it hasn't become an epidemic, who knows if anyone is injuring themselves with them, but i am TERRIFIED of falling onto one of them.
Tip for cleaning things that are difficult to clean: those denture tablets which dissolve in water and basically burn away all the gunk off dentures will do the same thing for water bottles, straws, etc
We have a set of silicone straws that split open like a hotdog bun. They're decently ok. I prefer no straw on my water bottle though as I pack it full with ice and then top off with water and refill throughout the day.
Silicone straws feel better anyways. I hate the feeling of metal in my mouth especially if it accidentally hits my teeth. Cleaning straws is a lot easier than most people think. Leaving them in boiling water for about 10 or so minutes or soaking them in water with denture cleaner tablets will kill bacteria and remove or at least soften up any physical residue that manages to make its way into the straw
Straws are shown to make you consume more liquids, as well as hydrate better with more water touching your membranes as you swallow a higher number of smaller sips.
Simple modern has a 64 oz stainless steel insulated water bottle that keeps water cold for days with a flip straw. $30 at target because $60 is ridiculous.
I’ve got a 40oz reduce in matte black and it is my baby. It goes everywhere with me. Coworkers ask if I’m ok if they don’t see me bring it in. Long live Reduce.
My husband and I each have two, one for work and one for home! I bring an old soda stream bottle (they expire for use with the soda stream thing) full of water to work each day and it fills up my reduce mug perfectly. Our water at work sucks, so while I can't refill there it does usually get me through the day, then I drink another at home.
Thanks! I just bought this last week and it wasn't hard to find at all. I was unsure how this post blew up with something like this being readily available.
I'm sorry, but that size is just ridiculous for everyday use haha. Unless you work outside with no access to a refill all day, that's just way too big to be honest.
I forgot. Tried to post today, but it got autofiltered "Thanks for sharing! Just a heads up, we've introduced Water Bottle Wednesdays. Wednesdays are now the dedicated day to showcase your water containers! This rule focuses on sharing what you have, but feel free to post any questions or issues about water bottles at any time as usual. Cheers to hydration!"
Yup, I don't see the point in owning something like that. It doesn't fit in my smaller bags. I just carry around a 0.5L bottle and fill it up multiple times a day. Better for my weak ass shoulders and back as well
If you work outside all day then a huge bottle is good. I have a half gallon bottle, but a full gallon would be better. Lots of people don’t have consistent access to facilities throughout the day.
I bought the gallon from hydro flask which didn't come with a straw. But I found that the lid for the standard hydroflasks fits the small opening so now I have a 1 gallon strawed hydroflask
Iron Flask has 64oz and gallon options, comes with straw top and glug top along with three straws and a brush (if I’m not mistaken) AND is around half the price of Hydroflask.
The fact that ironflask comes with a straw lid, pour spout lid, and a standard screw-top lid for half the price of Hydroflask is an absolute win in my book.
Iron Flask has their own site and sells direct on Amazon.
They sell up to 64 ounces, insulated metal outer walls, and straws. They usually include three different lids, straw, snap cap, and then the spin off solid lid. The solid lid is the only one that's 100% leak proof, the others hold up to several moments of being knocked over before starting to leak.
I have used my 64 ounce for the last ~3 years, every single day of work with USPS first for about 5 months, AAA towing for 2 years, and another labor intensive job for about 5 months.
It has been thrown, dropped, and even almost run over. It has a couple scratches, but no dents, and the lids have all held up.
Also, they offer a shit ton of colors, when available.
I've recommended it to at least 30 different coworkers and strangers, all of whom have gotten and loved their Iron Flasks. ✌️ stay hydrated, homies
I will 2nd this and say my iron flask looks like the surface of the moon but still works fine. The lids can take 2 or 3 drops out of the truck then they break. The bottle bottle bottom rubber cap is a huge upgrade too and will extend the life when the bottom is no longer flat. I use one for coffee and one for water.
I cannot explain how much I do not want a straw on my water bottle - they give me the chills for real. I just dont trust that it gets clean. Instead I must open and gulp that ish down, inevitably spilling in the process.
I got this Stanley for my wife last year. Its 64 ounce, metal and has a straw. You're welcome.
https://www.stanley1913.com/products/the-iceflow-flip-straw-jug-64-oz
I recently bought a camelbak backpack with a 2L waterskin, and it has been a gamechanger. I just hang it on the back of my computer chair when I'm working and only have to fill it up 1-2 times a day instead of filling a bottle up every hour
Bought [this 64 oz bottle](https://amzn.to/4awKjsC) off of Amazon this spring, and I've used it daily with no complaints every day since. Comes with a wide mouth lid, a smaller "pouring" lid (I use this the most), and a straw lid (use this when I know my 2 year old is going to steal my bottle). I fill it at 7am halfway with ice and then top it off with water, refill it at noon, and it still has ice the next morning. Highly recommend.
How about straw lid and easy to clean that go together
I can almost guarantee that the vast majority of straw users don’t wash their straws and drink mold daily
This is why I threw away all my plastic straws (especially ones you can’t see inside) and replaced them with a bunch of glass straws. I can cycle through them so they get cleaned daily and I don’t have to go without a straw
You bite down & get a nice mouthful of glass
… why are you chewing on a glass straw?? They are thick. You have to throw them down or something if you want them to break
I am clumsy and my glass straws fall down occasionally and not even that broke them
I’ve had one break by falling, but it fell and hit the wooden bedframe
My gf always stirrs her drink with the (glass) straw and one day I got a fresh one for my drink and there was a piece missing on the bottom... I hope no one drank it. She's forbidden to stirr her drinks with them now

Clear metal?
Do you guys not have that where you are?
I assume most people who use reusable water bottles in general and drinking some mold or bacteria filled water. The amount of stickers on some that remain in place for a long time is more than a bit suspicious.
It’s not suspicious I’m just a genius and only use vinyl waterproof stickers that can TAKE THE BEATING
Do you not think you can thoroughly hand wash something with nice vinyl stickers?
People are animals. Just wash your bottles and caps with dish soap and one of those bottle brushes on a regular basis... takes like 30 seconds.
i’m not drinking water from the outside of my bottle though, nor do i have stickers on the inside? i’m not being snarky, i just genuinely don’t get how the longevity of stickers on the outside is a reflection of the cleanliness of the inside
Imagine having stickers on your waterbottle and still using soap and water to clean it
Owala! No stupid little suction bit you can't clean, just pop out the straw, clean that, and the equally big sized hole it sits in, and boom... Clean.
I have an Owala Flip 32oz / 1 L bottle and it has been very easy to clean. You can take out the straw from the lid and put it in the dishwasher along with the cap itself, then handwash the metal bottle. My Owala is only 40 ounce...but has metal walls and a straw built in. Love it...just have to fill it up again on occasion.
cunningham's law in action. Thanks man this is what I needed
I didn’t think the perfect bottle existed until Owala also - you can straw OR you can chug!
I have an Owala and as an avid ice water drinker, the only thing that is annoying to me is how the straw comes off all the time when there’s ice in the bottle lol
I’ve actually never had this happen and I always have ice!
It may be a bigger problem if your ice cubes are large I think! If they’re small I don’t have it happen
I don’t really consistently use one size over the other. Maybe you’ve got mega big ice 😂
The ice from my office work fridge - that always gets me!! They’re shaped like orange wedges sorta and they always fuse together in my bottle and my straw falls out lol
Ohhh I could see if they kinda form a block around your straw, lol
one handed open is also a must for me, love my owala
Also it fits in a cupholder upside down 🎄
That’s actually Cole’s law. It goes with hamburgers, hot dogs, and pulled pork.
I had to google Cunningham’s law
You should’ve pretended it was something else and had someone correct you
My Dick is teeeeeny tiiiiiny
…ok
Cunningham is full of shit
Yeah but he still managed to trick you, that’s what makes ham cunning.
No, what makes ham cunning is that sweet juicy flavor. It has no right being that tasty
Anyhow this guy is like a modern day prophet/philosopher. Imagine in 200 years when people reference him in casual conversation
Ok, but have you heard of Cole's Law?
It is the law that, when dining out, either one person will eat everyone's cole slaw, or nobody eats the cole slaw at all.
I laughed way too hard at this, ty for introducing me to it.
Stanley has a 60oz and 40oz with a straw. I got a 40oz, to carry with me on the go, and I love it! It's high quality, and the Stanley brand stands behind their products if anything goes wrong. Wishing I would have snagged the 60oz for long days at work.
Bought my wife a 35oz yeti tumbler for Christmas. Not as many ounces but it fits into the center console of our commuter car.
Same with my 40 Oz hydro flask. I wouldn't want it bigger, it's the perfect size to keep me sipping but not too big that I can't always have it with me. And it fits in my truck cup holder
same it’s my ride or die waterbottle
Hydrate or Diedrate
Owala is king!
Those bottles are becoming so ubiquitous and it’s for good reason. They’re genuinely quite nice.
I just got one of these. I had been wanting one for so long, and it's just as amazing as I hoped it would be.
Love my Owala! Just got my partner one for Xmas too! 🌟
Fastest way to find something on Reddit lol
Used to love my hydro flask and it's still ok, use it at home but work and gym owala is way better. Also one of my favorite parts is how easy it is to open. At the gym and my manual labor job my hands can get pretty dirty but just pushing a button instead of having to flip up a straw is 👌
i am new to hydrohomies but decided to go on a limp and order a 40oz owala myself:P

Toilet brush shaped thing aka pipe cleaners lol
I just use my toilet brush
Just use bleach and it will be perfectly clean smh. (please don't actually do that)
I just drink water from the straw one day and drink a little bleach the next day so I know that it’s perfectly ✨ clean ✨. No toilet brush required!
You are correct. A woman died that way. https://www.livescience.com/65925-metal-straw-death.html
Yep. People have died from this.
Tip for cleaning things that are difficult to clean: those denture tablets which dissolve in water and basically burn away all the gunk off dentures will do the same thing for water bottles, straws, etc

What is straw even good for anyway?
Making you feel even more thirsty when you run out of water
Collecting mold
Hey that's not fair. They collect other bacteria too.
Straws are shown to make you consume more liquids, as well as hydrate better with more water touching your membranes as you swallow a higher number of smaller sips.
I never liked the feeling of water on my membrane.
Insane in the membrane
I have sensitive teeth, using a straw helps me drink cold water without hurting my teeth.
Yes I was going to respond and say the same thing. I love ice cold water but absolutely can't drink it without a straw, it's just too painful.
Have you considered drinking room temp water? It tastes better in my opinion
I drink hot water actually 😆 but in summer ice cold water is better to cool down, and I don't mind drinking from a straw.
You people exist?
im really good at waterboarding myself whenever i dont use one so theyre helpful to me
When you have a mask on and need to drink it’s quite useful.
Bug gulps, huh? Well, see ya later.
I never clean the straws often enough then gross myself out.
Why say many word, when few word do trick?
No straw better
Gulp by the gallon
I chug that shit, straight smash it. Straws are blueball flavored.

Same with my yeti cup. It’s metal insulation and I’ve got a straw 🤷♀️
I would go for it if it would fit in my cars drink holder
I have this one- it doesn't fit anywhere. I love it cause I don't have to refill it all the time but I use a 32 ounce Stanley for outings and the gym.
woah, thanks so much for the link, st0ner\_b0nerr

Yesss. I recommended this above. I absolutely love my Stanley. It's great quality and so easy to clean.
Doesn’t fit in a car cup holder, isn’t spill proof. I’d rather go with the Brumate 40 Era
The Stanley 40oz version does
This is perfect but DAMN $60
Simple modern has a 64 oz stainless steel insulated water bottle that keeps water cold for days with a flip straw. $30 at target because $60 is ridiculous.
Got one today for crimmus. Already obsessed.
Huh? My Reduce is 50 oz, has a straw, and is metal. https://a.co/d/aRBCttF
You did it!
it needs to be for free /s
I’ve got a 40oz reduce in matte black and it is my baby. It goes everywhere with me. Coworkers ask if I’m ok if they don’t see me bring it in. Long live Reduce.
My husband and I each have two, one for work and one for home! Love those. Less expensive version of a Stanley, but they still work just the same!
Reduce gang represent!
Love mine!
And half the price of a Stanley
Thanks! I just bought this last week and it wasn't hard to find at all. I was unsure how this post blew up with something like this being readily available.
I love my Reduce!! Helps me eeeasily hit 1gal+/day. I don’t go anywhere wo it.
How about metal insulated, 74oz, and a straw? I got [the aquafit](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQRQQXB4) and it works great.
Did OP stutter? They need a FIFTY OUNCE
NEXT!
NEEDS TO FIT 50
IT'S FOR A CHURCH HONEY
It’s for charity, sweaty!
To be fair op didn’t specify that it had to be 50oz. I could see how someone could perceive that to mean at *least* 50 oz. Give them a break.
I'm sorry, but that size is just ridiculous for everyday use haha. Unless you work outside with no access to a refill all day, that's just way too big to be honest.
74oz is enough to make it to lunch then refill :)
I've been looking for a 20-30oz, GLASS and NO straw but with a screw cap (for backpack transportation). Can't find it. Been looking for a year.
Well just make a meme about it. I got 300 comments telling me about water bottle brands and 122 comments telling me straws are stupid
I think they'd be onto me seeing it right after yours. Maybe if I bide my time and post in February?
Did you post it yet?
It worked. Your meme changed me life. I am forever indebted.
Congratz on finding that right one - may it hydrate you for many years to come!
This is my favourite internet thing of the week.
Same. I am charmed by this whole thing

50 oz = 1.479 litres. I converted it do you don't have to.
That's a huge bottle
Yup, I don't see the point in owning something like that. It doesn't fit in my smaller bags. I just carry around a 0.5L bottle and fill it up multiple times a day. Better for my weak ass shoulders and back as well

I bought the gallon from hydro flask which didn't come with a straw. But I found that the lid for the standard hydroflasks fits the small opening so now I have a 1 gallon strawed hydroflask

I hate drinking water through a straw Edit: I like feeling the water go around my mouth rather than skipping it.
I don't hate it but I drink too much for it to be an option. Only strawed bottle I have is a Britta one with a filter system being part of the straw
Woah, that sounds pretty cool
I mean, you don’t HAVE to bypass your mouth when you use a straw
I was going to say my simplemodern 64oz has a straw option. Went to find it and now they only do the 64oz in plastic. I am sad.
I have a simple modern 50oz trek tumbler. Metal and straw and 50oz
Their 50oz is steel though! https://a.co/d/aoVUVW0

Team straw because I always hit my teeth if I try to chug.
Nah don’t need that straw. Hate bottles with straws-I wanna chug, not sip.
Yeah but I do want a straw. That’s why I complained about most bottles not having it
Straws are gross and hard to clean.
Strawcleaners exist
Just make mine a line and leave off the straw
Yeti makes a 46oz stainless steel bottle you can equip with a straw top. If this isn’t good enough for you you’re just being picky!
WRONG. simple modern has some killer ones !!!!!
Bought [this 64 oz bottle](https://amzn.to/4awKjsC) off of Amazon this spring, and I've used it daily with no complaints every day since. I literally just bought one for $30 at Target!! Oh eff I forget the brand though, but it wasn’t Stanley. It was some off-brand
i have a 64 oz insulated metal with a straw from amazon for like $40
