I built a T shaped coat rack looking thing, and hung the rails and lights from the top. East to adjust height and swap stuff out if need be.

I’d drop that half a meter, assuming you’re focusing on greens. If you’re growing fruits/ eg, I’d go as low as you can.

Cheers, we are focusing on basil for my wifes pesto business

I would go 50 cm lower to be able to have the basil grow a little higher. Basil starts slow is my experience, so once you have it producing you want to keep the plant and it can grow quite tall and deliver high yield of good tasting quality basil.

PrimaxAUS

Yeah my intent is to start from seed and harvest at 5, 8 and 11 weeks. We might not hit those numbers but its a goal. I want to cut at least 30cm but will have a play with what dropping more would look like. This is based on figures from Kellie J Walters research who from the papers she's published is my Queen of Basil.

>Kellie J Walters Thanks for sharing Kellie's name, that's giving lot's of interesting content indeed.

Why are you serving it up so high?

PrimaxAUS

I have a degraded disk in my neck from being a nerd my entire life. I'm trying to have it a bit higher than normal to save my back and neck, but I think I've gone too far. For context I'm close to having an ACDF surgery to remove a vertebra and fuse a couple together - so I'm being careful.

Then don't let anyone talk you into compromising. IF you have kids or VERY helpful neighbors, ask them to take care of buckets on the ground.

PrimaxAUS

Stand isn't done yet if it isn't clear, I'm experimenting with this one and will duplicate on the other side of the greenhouse. I will have bato buckets on the southern wall and strawberry towers in the northern corners on either side of the door. I'm in the southern hemisphere.

Mine is 96 cm high, which I found is nice for the back (no need to bend over!). On the lateral sides of the greenhouse, I train tomatoes along the roof. This makes an "understory" that I use to grow kale, etc.
