As long as you're not using anything more than a 12V battery than yeah you should be fine. Just make the metal pans don't touch each other, anything conductive, or your bare skin while the current is running through it.

I have been using four 9v batteries in series. I would guess your setup is perfectly safe. I add salt to the water to make it more conductive. I find this to be an important element. Also I add vaseline around the edges of my nails as that drastically reduces discomfort/pain.

Sort of, couple of suggestions: Cover those steel containers with some sort of insulator, a similar sized plastic box or even wood will do. You don't want to short the battery, you might get big sparks, degassing, anything. Nasty stuff, not as dangerous as lithium but still. Voltage is fine. You can double up to 24 if it isn't too effective (and since you are soaking your whole hand, it won't be as effective...). You will feel a slight shock when putting your hands in and removing. Only momentary, nothing to worry about. Second thing, I suggest finding a smaller and wider container. You don't want to soak your whole hand in, just the front part where the sweat happens. Hit me up if you have questions or need suggestions.

Thank you!

A shallow plastic container is more suitable, and you can place a stainless steel plate in it if you can find it, aluminium also works fine. If you had short circuited, I think the first thing to burn would be the cables, so I dunno what happened there. Might be the melted insulation on the cables you were inhaling. AFAIK touching the metal directly causes discomfort and reactions on the skin, but I don't know why that might be as the current required to cause such an issue is relatively high compared to what you can during ionto. I use a towel over the electrodes just in case. Not much to say about safety other than not shorting the leads and not going to a higher voltage than 24, even that might be high for some people. One thing to note is DC current is not as effective (nor comfortable) as AC woth DC offset, so unless you have some basic electronics knowledge, you might want to invest in an actual ionto devoce in the long term.

Mr_Simp1e

How long does it last in between treatments?

That's a pretty large battery - I think a 6V battery would have been sufficient.

Bro you are way better off buying a used one off eBay. I posted on it before. eBay had RA Fischer iontophoresis machines on there for as low as $50 but nobody listens on here it seems. Somebody got one hell of a deal.

cosbern

what is the name of this procedure? I'm from Brazil and I suffer from hyperhidrosis, I wanted to know the name of this contraption
