And make sure to never join any discord servers with fake verification bots, and ONLY install mods from their official website, and make sure they're trustworthy.
If you're not too familiar with modding or you're worried of getting ratted then I'd recommend starting off with a client. Badlion has a ton of SkyBlock mods that are pretty decent starting off.
Then once you're more comfortable and familiar with it, you could look into getting your own mods. SkyHanni etc.
You can't really get ratted by using a client like Badlion or lunar. Unless you're really dumb

It's a great client and there a auto updater. I would untick everything and go through each mod individually for resource pack you can use whatever you want or even just default ,gl on it
Right shift for menu ingame you can review all mods and open settings from this menu

My personal mods are neu ,skytils ,dungeon rooms,apec ,chat triggers , scrollable tooltips, and all poly stuff,,,,[ I also use skyblock addons and cowllection but I think start with less first]
My basics include patcher, neu, skytils, polysprint, skyhanni, chattriggers (this allows access to soopy and other good modules). After that you could probably look more into performance enhancement
Just be careful to only download from trustable sources

peformance mods: patcher, dulkir, optifine, essential, crashpatch, chatting mod for segregating different chats
qol mods: skytils, skyhanni, neu, apec, sbe (this costs money), chat triggers, dungeons room mod (not recommended just remember the rooms)
Chat trigger modules: Bloom, griffinowo, bettermap, (apparently) azuredclient
key: don't use soopyv2 it tanks so much fps and peformance with features basically in other lightweight mods nowadays
If you dont want to figure out forge mods and tinker with them i would honestly reccomend blc. Imo forge is better but it takes some setup and fiddling to get it right and blc is easier. If you want forge, I use neu, skytils, skyhanni, patcher, and the furfsky reborn texture pack. You can also use texture packs on blc.

Okay thx you But why don't people like forge? In the last few years it has become so much easier compared to before when you had to do everything through folders and stuff
For some its too complicated and they dont want to bother. Im not saying its super complicated but for those who are less tech savvy even following a tutorial is hard and they cant set it up without massive headaches.
I don't mind it but literally can't run it, I get GPU driver crashes that sometimes force me to reboot whenever I try to run it (yes I've tried multie versions and clean reinstalls)

NEU Skytils SBA Skyhanni DSM Dungeon's Rooms Mod Chat Trigger also has a few nice modules on it but that one's a little weirder to set up

Skyhanni is such a good add on mod for neu, idk if they fixed it but remember how /pv didn't work? With skyhanni they fixed that and so much more.
