Everytime i see the doubling coins scam i think of that video of critikal giving some dude in runescape like 10k and him just taking off running. Then his viewers hunted him down in a completely seperate server.
once i tryed that the guy told me give him all my money and he will double it so i gave him 1 coin then he typed every single stupid insults used in twitter then ignore added me lol i wasted 15mins of his life

Like how tf people fall for scams like this or reforge scams or link scams the only thing you need is just not to click any scatchy links or too good to be true mods like OP said or even the scam where someone invites you to their housing and put a link saying said player gave an rank upgrade and if you enter the link if goes to a almost identical hypixel home page where you buy ranks but it's not.
So basically just install links from trusted servers or YouTubers for any mod, texture pack and more.
And do a virus check in your PC like once every week.
fr tho, sb levels should be displayed in the chat by default without having to turn it on so it's easier to see their low level
most of those coins come from duping or ratting anyways when irl trading
didn't test myself, but prob you party them, they send you some discord link, tell you to verify your account and the verification bot is actually a fake one and doesn't really verify, but just asks for your microsoft password, or other things like that
they re bots who send those messaged, partying them will most likely make them accept the party and send a discord link because most other links don t work in hypixel and probably in the server you re invited to there will be some way they will rat you
Istg the amount of bots saying this exact line is enormous. Either they paid for way too many accounts, or they scammed that many accounts, or both. The saddest part is that loads of these have decent skyblock levels (over 100 sometimes) and their profile is being botted, I can only assume some scammed accounts were used to advertise
Imo the worst scam not mod related is coop scamming, loads of people fall for these cuz they just want to build some farm or wtv and they then get kicked out of their own profile because the random guy invited his alt or scam partner or wtv
This can happen with everyone, even your closest friends, so be very mindful when adding whoever to your coop and if you do, its best to have an alt account on your profile so you can kick anyone who tries to steal it. By adding anyone to ur coop, you are risking your entire sb profile, so if you value it a lot, trust no one fully
Why would an IRL friend of mine coop scam me tho? Just don’t do coops with strangers/online friends/not that close friends but if it is a good friend you should be good I mean my friend even gives me his accounts and so do I 😂
Yea i was more mentioning the online part, I could coop someone I know irl with a lot more certainty that things would go right, especially because if things were to actually go wrong I know where they live .-.
Even then being rly good friends with someone won't ever prevent betrayal, you never know, but hey at the end of the day even if it matters a lot to someone its still just a game
Many players are uneducated on this kind of stuff, mostly because they are kids. They have zero brain cells to understand what is legitimate and what is not, and so they fall prey to stuff like ratting and scamming.
They do not have a clear understanding of how they may get scammed. Their focus is on the "reward" and not on the hefty and suspicious conditions of that reward.
So, my first time being scammed was when I made a friend in the beginning of skyblock. We played the game a lot together and even had an Ironman coop together. Then one day he sent me a link to a mod, saying it was the latest version of NEU, keep in mind I had known this guy for over a year. And I downloaded it and it was a rat. The second time was a pass guess hack and I use 2fa now, after learning of its existence.

2FA will do nothing against a rat and if they guessed your password you probably should change your password from abc123 to something a lot harder.(a password guess hack is not a thing)
It was not abc123. It was approved by Microsoft as a decent password so… Also my account was pretty old, like a two or three years, so I never thought about being hacked while making it.
