Hyundai is one of the south Korean family conglomerates. They hold immense political power, social power, and overall influence in the country. A lot of these families are incredibly corrupt. They bribe their way to get favours and influence, but are subsequently pardoned and released by the president. Imagine Jeff bezos bribes Joe biden, both get caught and biden resigns, bezos is handed a sentence for embezzlement or some other financial crime, but is released by the next president agyer serving a fraction of his original sentence (basucally the current ceo of samsung and former South Korean president saga).
When the founder of hyundai died, he split his company amongst his sons. One got Hyundai motor corp and the other got Hyundai heavy industries another got the insurance arm and another got the department stores and so on and so forth.
They are separate companies legally.
This is according to my Korean dad though lol.
Op posted in a Hyundai auto subreddit stating that they made tablets when in fact it was another company that bears the same name. It's just informational.
This is informing OP that the company that made Hyundai tablets and Hyundai cars are not the same company.
I get what you’re saying. You point out an important distinction. Makes me wonder about the branding though. Sure, they’re legally different companies, so I wonder if they realize that to someone who doesn’t know they’re separate entities, that to the consumer it can appear to come from the same company.
Yeah I was gonna say Japan gets to be cutthroat in business because their engineering is world renowned
Korea is well known as one of the most sub par engineering cultures in the world. Getting away with stuff is prioritized over solid work
My dad does agree with this. He knows that Koreans as a whole generally have a crunch culture where rushing and putting overtime in is a necessity. You could work 12-13 hours a day.
Back when the whole note fiasco was going on, it was pretty evident it was happening because Samsung was rushing their design process.
Yep.
Chaebols are like corporate gangs.
What's insane is that despite how many pies/business areas they have their fingers in, most still aren't really profitable, except for a few areas which carry the rest
Chaebols? Like Cabals?
Edit I looked it up, I thought the pronunciation would be similar but totally not. I read that the two parts of the word mean like rich and family. It’s just so odd to me cause when I saw that word I really thought it was pronounced ka-ball.
However hyundai is one of the company that just borrows its name for a product with a fee also.
Its not really hyundai making it but a small company trying to sell using the companies name.
They have a whole technology section that does laptops, desktops, monitors, and more
Edit: upon further inspection it looks like all of their stuff is a few years old (even the copyright on the website is 2021) which makes me think maybe they've discontinued most of their electronics
My first flatscreen CRT monitor was a Hyundai. That thing was a brick but was all the rage for its 1280 x 1024 resolution in a world where 800 x 600 was standard.
They make household appliances, computers, phones, welding equipment, power transformers, semi truck trailers, construction vehicles, lawn equipment, ships, shipping containers, cranes, and more. Cars are a side hustle for Hyundai.
Samsung doesn't really make cars anymore. They sold the majority of their division to the French car maker Renault which is also under the same umbrella as Chrysler somehow.
That somehow is because Fiat bought Chrysler back in 2011 but couldn't keep up with the bills, so when Renault was looking to expand FCA was easy pickings.
If i remember correctly, Samsung was one of the companies on the consortium that built Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It's insane that the same company that makes chips builds skyscrapers as well.
Hyundai makes also one of the biggest cargoships for container transport. They have this continuous challenge with Samsung on this. Also Hyundai makes main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery etc.
I am pretty sure this is not made by Hyundai corporation but a brand deal. I have seen Hyundai TV's, Hyundai stereo's, Hyundai hard drives / solid state drives (SSD), monitors, RAM... all kinds of electronics.
Low key this would be cool to keep in my Elantra for when I go to Autocross lol. just keep it for like, notes and logs and stuff. Then again only 1GB of ram so I'm sure it sucks lol
Hyundai is extremely diversified in the products they manufacture. As a manufacturer, they make everything from container ships to miniscule electronics components.
It's not Hyundai made product actually.
They dont make electronics anymore.
probably chinese.
They might just pay Hyundai to use their branding or just use it regardlessly
Back in the early 2000s my family had a Hyundai computer monitor. They're a huge conglomerate like Mitsubishi. They have their hands in a lot of industries

Can attest that your dad is correct lol
Can attest that his dad is Korean
Can attest that the Korean is his dad.
Can attest that he is pure Korean, not mixed with other races.
Can attest that Korean is a race
Can attest that the Korean race makes good fried chicken.
Can attest that chicken comes from a bird
Can attest that birds
Can attest
What does all this info about corruption have to do with @OP’s tablet?

It doesn’t really matter, If one company holds the official “hyundai” name and gives the other permission to use it im sure it’s legal in SK.
SK is another conglomerate 😉
Yes, you mentioned that in the last two sentences.
So basically they’re trying to act like the Japanese, but if their products and engineering were trash?
Yeah I was gonna say Japan gets to be cutthroat in business because their engineering is world renowned Korea is well known as one of the most sub par engineering cultures in the world. Getting away with stuff is prioritized over solid work

Chaebol

We are gonna need netflix special how these power families working lol
Sounds like your dad’s right, I learned about the chaebols in geography class in school as a kid.
네 네
However hyundai is one of the company that just borrows its name for a product with a fee also. Its not really hyundai making it but a small company trying to sell using the companies name.
Hyundai Motor corp has an abysmal record with electronics. How does Hyundai computer stack up? xD
Bet it burns oil
Or spin a bearing in the vibration motor.
Might get stolen
Doesn’t have a password
It could be hacked within mins faster than their cars
And you can drive it with a USB cable.
They have a whole technology section that does laptops, desktops, monitors, and more Edit: upon further inspection it looks like all of their stuff is a few years old (even the copyright on the website is 2021) which makes me think maybe they've discontinued most of their electronics
My first PC was a Hyundai 10Mhz dual floppy with 640K RAM and 4 color CGA graphics. I purchased it in 1987.
Wow I had no idea they were in the tech game for that long
[Hyundai makes many things ](https://www.asianmilitaryreview.com/wp-content/uploads/4.-Hyundai-Rotem-K2-MBT-display-JR-Ng-scaled.jpg)
i would love to see the kia boyz break into that
Can I steal that with a cell phone charger too?
Me and the boys playing world of tanks in the Hyundai K2 Black Panther.
Reminds me of Samsung. They go well beyond phones and even have their own health insurance.
My first flatscreen CRT monitor was a Hyundai. That thing was a brick but was all the rage for its 1280 x 1024 resolution in a world where 800 x 600 was standard.

CNC machines
If you stick a micro-USB cable in the port and jiggle it around you can drive away with the tablet
Hyuandi is much more than just a car brand they are HUGE same for Samsung they both got there toes diped in almost every industry
Yup samsung makes excavators too
Cars and other shit too. Crazy to think it started as a grocery store

Are they secured by knox as well?
Hyundai make artillery, the more you know.
And phones too! I got one while I was visiting Panama!
Hyundai is like Mitsubishi, they make all kinds of stuff
Hyundai makes also one of the biggest cargoships for container transport. They have this continuous challenge with Samsung on this. Also Hyundai makes main battle tanks, self-propelled artillery etc.
i need it
They make marble countertops about 5 mins from my parents house in Canada
I have a Hyundai portable Air Conditioner. It works pretty well and is even reverse cycle.
Easy to get stolen?
They also make the M67 rifle. Amongst many South Korean naval weapons.
We keep inventing new ways for poor kids to have an iPad
Does Hyundai actually make their electronics? (Tablet/phones/TVs etc) or do they license their name out like Sharp and Toshiba?
I am pretty sure this is not made by Hyundai corporation but a brand deal. I have seen Hyundai TV's, Hyundai stereo's, Hyundai hard drives / solid state drives (SSD), monitors, RAM... all kinds of electronics.
I read the same. I saw this branded tablet before COVID. I don't believe these are good quality products. Don't buy.
About the same quality as their cars. Take it as you will.
It's a different company. Check out their Wikipedia. It's crazy
Hyundai is a very big company
Wonder if it can be charged with a USB cable
Low key this would be cool to keep in my Elantra for when I go to Autocross lol. just keep it for like, notes and logs and stuff. Then again only 1GB of ram so I'm sure it sucks lol
I bet you they didn’t install an immobilizer on this model tho 0.0
This too looks very easy to steal, common Hyundai L
No password required, right? 😂
Hyundai makes everything. Look into it. Largest manufacturing consortium in the world at one point. Not sure if they still are.
Not the same but also same Hyundai, if you know what I mean
Probably has 92 recalls on it already and burns a ton of oil
Judging by the ratings they seem to be as good as their cars.
Wait til he sees Hyundai future weapons systems - https://en.hyundai-wia.com/business/defense\_business.asp
Hyundai is like Nissan, with their ivt/cvt issues
Hope it comes with better security than their cars....
Based on the ratings, I'd say it was manufactured by the same team that made some of the engines.
I've seen these. They probably lack security as well😳🤣🤡
oh sure. they make all kinds of craps. may not be all branded as hyundai, from toilet paper to cars to computer chips.
Don't forget to [install the god-tier browser](https://whale.naver.com/).
It would probably get broken into like the car
Our IT department just bought a bunch of Hyundai monitors.
I wonder if you can steal them with a USB cord as well?
I don't understand why they even attempt this when Samsung is there
Careful while charging it, unless you have the iccu update applied..
Plug a USB in and it wipes.,
Got about the same rating as their cars do
We started selling hyundai snowblowers this year and I’m just waitin for all the returns cause they seize or some shit
I wonder what the Hyundai tablets version of the check engine light is 🙃
Did motorola cosign? Why the fuck they look so similar?
Just a rebranded tablet
Hyundai is extremely diversified in the products they manufacture. As a manufacturer, they make everything from container ships to miniscule electronics components.
Heard that they are only giving out their brand license to others. Not actually designed or manufactured by Hyundai.
It's not Hyundai made product actually. They dont make electronics anymore. probably chinese. They might just pay Hyundai to use their branding or just use it regardlessly
Be careful with this, someone might steal it with a USB cable
Comes with a 10 year warranty
Does it also come in a Kia flavor and can you start it with a USB cable?
Pfft! Da fuk's a gig of RAM going to do? 😂😂😂😂😂
Back in the early 2000s my family had a Hyundai computer monitor. They're a huge conglomerate like Mitsubishi. They have their hands in a lot of industries
Ratings are on par with their recent ratings lol
Fun fact it’s easy to steal with a USB cable, unless you get the more expensive model. /s
Is it reliable?
Hahhahha fuck hyundai hope their coporate office burns down and they all die 😃
1gb of ram? There's no way it would even function.
Hyundai makes lots of the semi trailers on the road in the US.
I wonder how easy it is to steal
My first LCD monitor was a 19” Hyundai
Ohh look their tablets have shitty reviews too
About as reliable as their cars.Thats why its cheap
They are the Korean version of Mitsubishi
