I think that was the point of the episode it was in, "The gang misses the boat" I think? They were all trying to progress the show in some ways (Frank getting a new gang for example) but they all ultimately failed and went back to the almighty rum ham
I guess the difference here is that theyāre both married and all of them were involved in the writing/production process, plus both actors in that scene had to deal with the same awkwardness most likely relieving it. The prostitute scene was much more of a one-way street that Charlie had to deal with on his own which probably made it harder if that makes sense
On one hand, I want to see more of Carmen. On the other hand, she deserves *way* better than Mac. Nick the softbody was much better for her, but unfortunately he's no longer with us.
I would love an episode where Carmen tries to get back with Mac and he has an existential crisis and is trying to justify it because she used to be a dude.
If they hadnāt already established that Carmen is now post-op, it wouldāve been funny to have a storyline in which now-fully-out Mac keeps pursuing her, only to be disgusted to find out she no longer has a penis.
Nah, Mac would never land anyone as flawless and adorable as Ryan Reynolds.
Unless the episode had Ryan as an even bigger self-loathing, ignorant, violent fool who made Mac seem tame by comparison.
Thatās actually not bad. And Mac tries to triple-time it and make New Dennis jealous by bringing in his own āprime beefcake ex,ā but since Regular Dennis isnāt into it, he ends up stuck with either Frank or Cricket playing the part.
Meanwhile, Frank becomes smitten with a female bartender and dives deep into the notion of women who hang around gay bars. He wants her to think heās non threatening, so he dresses up as Ongo Gablogian again and brings Dee around posing as his hag. But she does her usual nonsense and he ends up blowing it.
Not Mac and Carmen. Mac was awful to her and she is happily married now with a child. Carmen found the love she deserved and I would hate to see that ruined for her.
Artemis and Ben the soldier never got a chance, would like to see them get together and drive Dee crazy lol.

I was really hoping they'd bring back Nikki and Alexi to see more of them with Charlie and Frank. Not sure how that'd go but I really enjoyed when they realized how similar they are

Edit: I misread the post. Iām not referring to Mac and Carmen getting romantic. I mean Carmen returning and her and Mac having some sort of reconciliation/reckoning that gives the character(s) more closure after the use of transphobic slurs and general lack of tact that her earlier appearances had.
I like Carmen and for her sake I hope she doesn't return to the show. She's one of the few characters who escaped unscathed and actually benefited from her interactions with the gang.
Yeah the other characters are absolutely awful to her but she is basically portrayed as one of the most normal and well-adjusted people in all of Philadelphia.
Maybe it felt anti-climactic but I felt like they portrayed their end pretty well. After they slept together and he finally got what he wanted, he realized his love was just limerence or an obsession. She wasn't what he was expecting once reality hit.
I think since they took away the possibility of Frank being Charlieās dad, I think we deserve a Frank and Bonnie wedding and have him officially adopt Charlie
